Stopping the download?
It appears that my iphone/itunes is in the process of downloading my entire music collection from icloud. Is there a way to stop the downloading? I am mobile and do not have wifi or a charger cord with me!
Yes, I said it wrong. Attaching a child loader to the empty
movie clip would be the proper way of saying it for AS3.
The reason why I wait to addChild( ) until Event.COMPLETE is
because otherwise the external file will show up on the stage and
start playing the first x amount of frames before it has even
completely finished downloading.
It seems to me (and I might be wrong) that if the function
that has the addChild() statement in it doesn't run until the
eventListener Event.COMPLETE calls it, then the external file waits
to start playing until it's added.
Is this correct or am I just imagining things?
Thank you for your help!! I won't be able to work on the file
until later this evening. Hopefully it won't be too hard to get the
close() method to work properly.

If you've paused the download (they are partially greyed out on the duplicates screen ?) then you will need to delete them from download window, you can't (as far as I know) delete partially downloaded items from that screen. When you have items downloading, or downloads that are paused, you should have a downward pointing arrow at the top right of the iTunes screen
If you click that arrow you should get a popup window with the items that are downloading/paused - and you should be able to select and delete them (or resume their download) from there. -
How do I stop the download of Maverick on my MacBookPro? I started downloading then discovered that 2008 Word and Excel do not work with Maverick. I have too many files in the 2008 version to upgrade them at this time. I just need instructions in non technical terms to stop the Maverick download.
I did the same as Tapmr and have paused the "upgrade". So am I to understand that the upgrade only downloads and will not automatically install it? I am an extreme novice here, and cannot afford any issues after I upgrade/download. I don't know how to make a clone copy as you suggested either.
I need assurance that if the upgrade is allowed to continue that I will be able to delete the upgrade downloaded and continue on as before with my regular system. -

I am renting a movie via itunes to Apple TV and accidently stopped the download, I cant see where to restart download. I have tried to check it out in Settings but cant get any info in regards to "check for rentals"
There must be a way i can view the download and determine how long and re-start the process.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Can I stop the download of tv/videos
My son has been downloading tv serie and our internet usage is limited (we live in the country). I need to stop the downloading in progress on my Ipad 2. Is that possible??
i went on the downloads page of itunes and found 6 episodes left to download which is using all our bandwidth. i then went to the Store, then Edit. I deleted the episodes from there. When I went back to downloads, it is still going.

Just let it download and then delete it afterwards! When its done touch it and hold down until it starts to shake and hit the x in the corner to delete it! Hope this helped!

Welcome to the Apple community.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

I started downloading a rental movie on apple tv, but I live in a rural area with terrible Internet download speed...is there anyway to stop the download, and resume downloading, onto my iPad when I have access in an urban setting with high speed Internet?
Yes, to be honest I was a little surprised myself. But it absolutely didn't connect when plugged into the test socket (I even tried to force a connection from the Home Hub manager but it wasn't having it). It is definitely the master socket. The only extension is a small piece of (engineer installed) phone cable to link the hub and the master socket (because the socket and mains power are unhelpfully on opposite walls of the hallway).
I ran the Java download for Google anyway and it only took about an hour. The speedtester results are as follows:
Download speed achieved during the test was - 109 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-250 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :2560 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 135 Kbps
I don't as a rule disconnect / reboot the hub; today it has been dropping off on its own, while several days ago I tried a few reboots just to try and get a connection.
Additional info - my exchange is actually called Claypole Fenton (or vice versa). Whatever, my profile has probably been welded to 135k for days and days.

I just bought a song from iTunes on my iPhone and accidentally stopped the download before it finished. How do I continue the download?
It shows it in my music but is a light shaded grey. So I may not access the song. I tried repurchesing the song but iTunes won't let me.I had the same problem and solved it for myself, and I have a iphone 4s. I went to my songs and deleted the light grey songs then went to the itunes store, and selected more, then selected purchased. I scrolled down to the songs that were a light grey in my music, and pushed the download button ( icloud symbol with arrow on it) ,now my songs are successfully downloaded and ready to listen to any time!

Try setting the Energy Saver to "never" and uncheck "put hard disks to sleep when possible". You can allow the screen to sleep after any suitable time.
