Stopping the WL service from the Win2k Services screen is a simple "kill"?

I have another question related to WLS as a WinNt service:
If I use the WL console to stop a WL server, it initiates a normal shutdown.
So for example:
<The shutdown sequence has been initiated.> is put in the log.
If I just stop the service in Win2k using the Services screen, nothing is
logged.
I'm just curious if it's normal (so "Stop" is equal to ^C if I start WL from
the command prompt) or there is a problem in my configuraiton.
It's a minor question, but it would be much easier to start/stop WL from the
same place.

  • Can I stop the pop up screen to show while receiving call ?

    Hello,
    When I paired my car kit (handfree) with my iPhone, the pop up screen will show up when I receiving a call ...
    http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/iphone/iphone-bluetooth-not-much-but-whats-there-is-c harming-274068.php
    Asking me whether I would like to use - handfree, iPhone speaker or iPhone. Can I set the handfree as a default without making the choice?
    Thanks

    When using a headset, answering a call from it is as simple as pushing the ANSWER button on the headset. The call should then be answered and the source automatically set to BT headset. No need to select the source using the iPhone. I suspect there is an ANSWER button on car hands-frees, but I don't know for sure, since I don't own one.

  • How do I stop the Plugin Status screen from coming up every time I open Firefox?

    I get a screen asking me to update or delete a list of plug ins. I don't want to see this every time I open Firefox.

    Updating your Plugin programs would get rid of that "nag" page when you open Firefox.
    Both Java and Flash received updates this past week.
    Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter. <br />
    ''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.''
    Pref = '''plugins.update.notifyUser''' if it shows as True, double-click that pref to toggle it to '''False'''

    The only way I know to do it is to stop the application through task manager(Windows) or Kill(Unix). First you have to figure out what PID it is, then kill it. It does come with risk of corrupting the application depending on what step it is in. If you go this route, you should clean up the new created temporary files (Otn, Esn, etc) Some newer versions don't need this last step and will clean up when the application restarts, but I'd rather make sure things look good myself.

  • Stopping the "Three Globes" Start-up Screen -- Part 2

    Hi Experts,
    As of BPC 7.0 SP3, it should be possible to stop the Three Globes startup workbook from being opened when launching BPC for Excel.
    However, while the solution presented (using the COMPANY_LOGO AppSet parameter), will initially stop the Three Globes screen, it drops the user to the "Reporting" navigation.
    The problem with that is that it's not the top level in the navigation tree, and consequently, the user has to click the HOME button to access the Custom Menu and BPF options... And of course, clicking the HOME button brings up our friends, the Three Globes.
    Is there any way to disable the Globes but still have the user start at the right place?
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Garrett

  • Stopping the service order from further processing

  • Stopping the service principle from requesting a TGT

    Is there a way to stop the service end of the JGSS negotiation from requesting a TGT for its service principle ?
    </P>
    In a Kerberos GSSAPI negotiation the accepting service only needs access to a keytable containing the exported service key to successfully authentication and identify the client principal. The service does not need any network access to the KDC.
    </P>
    The JGSS implementation during the acceptSecContext requests a TGT for the service principal, even though it makes no use of it and discards it. The service therefore requires network access to the KDC and incurs the overhead of a KDC access for each authentication.
    </P>
    This can simply be demonstrated using the sample code at:
    </P>
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/security/jgss/tutorials/BasicClientServer.html
    </P>
    If the com.sun.security.jgss.accept entry is bcsLogin.conf is modified to:
    </P>
    com.sun.security.jgss.accept {
    com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule required storeKey=true doNotPrompt=true useKeyTab=true keyTab="service.keytab" principal="service";
    </P>
    I would not expect the service to request a TGT, but it does, as the KDC log shows:
    </P>
    Jun 27 16:06:35 kdc krb5kdc[1865](info): AS_REQ (3 etypes {16 3 1}) 192.168.111.1: ISSUE: authtime 1151420795, etypes {rep=16 tkt=16 ses=16}, service@REALM for krbtgt/REALM@REALM

    Hi Seema,
    Thanks for the reply. I assume you're talking about the isInitiator flag ?
    I'm using Java version 1.6.0-beta2 and still getting the same results. The config file is now:
    com.sun.security.jgss.initiate {
      com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule required
    useTicketCache=true ticketCache=ticket.cache debug=true;
    com.sun.security.jgss.accept {
      com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule required isInitiator=false
    storeKey=true doNotPrompt=true useKeyTab=true
    keyTab="service.keytab" principal="service" debug=true;
    };The output from the SampleServer is:
    [root@kdc gssapi.new]# ./server
    Waiting for incoming connection...
    Got connection from client /127.0.0.1
    Will read input token of size 445 for processing by acceptSecContext
    Debug is  true storeKey true useTicketCache false useKeyTab true
    doNotPrompt true ticketCache is null KeyTab is service.keytab
    refreshKrb5Config is false principal is service tryFirstPass is false
    useFirstPass is false storePass is false clearPass is false
    principal's key obtained from the keytab principal is service@REALM
    Acquire TGT using AS Exchange
    EncryptionKey: keyType=3 keyBytes (hex dump)=0000: 57 08 1A 80 75 D0 7C 31
    ...As you can see the server is still acquiring a TGT. Also the isInitiator flag is not showing up in the debug options.
    Is this functionality in version 1.6.0-beta2 ?
    Thanks again
    Phil

    As an outline, it looks ok I think.
    You may need some env variables set up in the script, add some error handling, etc...

    $cd $ORACLE_HOME/agent10g/bin/emctl stop agent

  • How do I stop the Runtime Service (UNIX) for a period of time (24 hours)

    Greetings
    Environment:
    OWB Client 10g on Windows XP Professional
    Repository - 9.2.0.4 on UNIX (AIX 5.2)
    Target schema - 9.2.0.4 on UNIX (AIX 5.2)
    I need to stop the Runtime service for 24-48 hours while the database is being upgraded from 9i to 10g. It seems the running service is causing some problems as the database is being started and stopped by the upgrade process (dbma).
    What starts the Runtime service at database startup?
    How can I prevent it from starting for 24-48 hours?
    Anyone else have issues upgrading from 9i to 10g using the migration assistant (dbma)?
    I realize I can stop it with the stop_service.sh script but that won't prevent it from satrting by itself when the database is bounced.
    I looked at the JOB queues but it doesn't seem to be there as a job that can be controlled with the DBMS_JOB package.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    -gary

    Hi and thanks for the responses.
    In my case there have been no additions to the server startup script to start the Runtime service, it just starts when the database starts.
    As I stated, I am aware of the start_service.sh and stop_service.sh but these don't prevent the service from starting after a reboot of the server or a bounce of the database.
    Can anyone tell me how the Runtime service starts?
    After a database shutdown and startup I see the Runtime service running as an 'ACTIVE' UNIX process and also one or more Runtime User processes that are 'INACTIVE' but become active when a map is run.
    Any help is appreciated.
