Stopwatch Font too thin!

Is it possible to change the font for the stopwatch spp for the ipohone in I OS 7. I have changed the phone to bold, and it does not effect the stopwatch application. The lap counter is currently presented in a thin grey font, that is almost impossible to read from more than a foot away from a phone. While apple may find this design beautiful, it is incredibly impracticle as it is impossible to read from 3 feet away. If anyone knows a solution to make the lap timer a different color, or how to make the font bold, please let me know. if not, Appple, please work on updating this impractical font.

That font can't be changed.  Tell Apple... http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
I'm sure there are dozens, if not hundreds, of stopwatch/timer apps in the App Store.  Most are probably free.

  • Firefox Android Font too "Thin"

    Hello all,
I've been running Firefox Nightly and Firefox Beta on my Galaxy SIII (and now Nexus 4) for some time and it is by far my favorite browser... The only thing that drives me crazy is that the default font seems so "thin" compared to Chrome or anything shown on an iPhone for instance.
Screenshot of the latest Nightly vs the latest Chrome:

    How can I fix this?
    Thanks.

  • Font of time on locked screen is way too thin (iOS 7)

i'm new here, dont know if apple is reading complaints here, so just in case...
the font, especially for the clock/time is way too thin. really makes my eyes follow that thin thread, to grasp the whole digit. It's ridiculous, cant believe Apple doesnt notice how user-unfriendliy this is. Okay, i've got a pretty bright background picture. that preinstalled wave...

Have you tried playing around with the adjustments under Accessability?
I think the default seeting are bad. After playing around with them on mine I found it was better.

  • Fuzzy, pixelated, too thin or too bold fonts

I have this weird problem with Firefox. Some fonts seems to be too thin/bold, and a little fuzzy and pixelated.
This is especially for fonts of some links. For example, results on trovaprezzi.it. In this case it looks a little too bold as you can see here http://img.techpowerup.org/140723/gross.jpg
I have similar problem also with the scroll bar when you right-click on a Firefox window.
This is the Firefox scroll bar http://i59.tinypic.com/rm74pj.jpg
This is the Windows 7 scroll bar http://i62.tinypic.com/294nxu9.jpg
If you look very close, can see that the Firefox one seems to be more "thin"
I tried with the gfx.direct2d.disabled on true, but then the font of Bookmarks toolbar and other bars, looks weird and very fuzzy if you don't use defaul skin.

The first one is this site? http://www.trovaprezzi.it/prezzo_schede-grafiche_gtx_780_ti.aspx
That looks smoother to me, also on Windows 7 64-bit. (Screen shot attached)

  • Firefox 22 and higher shows fonts too big or too small, sometimes on the same page. How to "fix" this annoying 'improvement"?

Since the update *every* website displays with the fonts too big or too small. On many websites, some of the fonts are too big and some are too small *on the same page*
This makes for a horrible browsing experience.
I've tried setting the layout.css.PixelsPerPx to a value of 1, but all it does is make most websites fonts too small, while leaving some websites fonts too large, with many web pages having fonts simultaneously too large and too small.
The old behavior was quite acceptable and I'd really like to restore the behavior to what it was. How can I do that? Or do i just switch to Chrome and be done with it?

Did you even bother to read the question?
"I've tried setting the layout.css.PixelsPerPx to a value of 1, but all it does is make most websites fonts too small, while leaving some websites fonts too large, with many web pages having fonts simultaneously too large and too small."
This "fix" doesn't work. Hundreds of people are complaining about how their browser was broken by this "improvement". Why not address the real problem instead of telling users to apply a useless hack to fix a programming error?

  • Calendar event font too small

New events I create in calendar have a font too small to read. How do you change the front size?

I'm having the same issue. Did you get an answer?  Seems that calendar entries created within Outlook on my laptop are fine, but entries created on my iPhone have a very tiny font. changing default font in "Settings - Display and Brightness" does not help. Thanks.

  • Photos stretched (everyone is too thin, on the widescreen)

    Hello all.
just started playing with the AppleTV. Nice system.
I'm disappointed with the photo handling. It seems everyone is slightly too thin. I'd expect that if I was using a regular 4:3 screen, but not on this 16:9 computer monitor.
I'll look into it more and see what I can find (maybe something wrong in my monitor setup? no idea). If you have any ideas please let me know.
    Greg

Widescreen computer monitors normally have 16:10 aspect ratio, rather than 16:9 found on widescreen TVs. This explains why images that look right on a widescreen TV will look too 'thin' on a computer monitor - because the pixels are about 10% narrower on the computer monitor. I don't know why monitors and TVs are designed differently in this respect - it's not very helpful! I can't change the aspect ratio on my computer monitor - perhaps you'll have more luck with yours.

  • Voice Track - Needs "Low End" or sounds too "thin"

I have created a voice demo tape for a job using Garage Band and was told by a professional that it's very good except that I need to add some "low-end" (20mghz) - that it sounds too thin... it may be my microphone (using the SnowBall) or the fact that I do not have a professional studio.
Can I use some kind of effect or tool in Garage Band to correct this? I am not an expert at garage band but use to mix music and voice for video work.

What is "20mghz"?? Probably they want some boost in the low frequencies - go to the info pane of your track (cmd-i), click the Edit tab and play with the VisualEQ. Either by selecting a preset (like "Bass Boost") or by manually editing the EQ - it's pretty straightforward.

  • Menus and Fonts too small with Panasonic HDTV

I just hooked up a new Mini (Intel chip) to my Panasonic HDTV-- 34" Model No. CT-34WX53-- using a DVI cable. The desktop shows up fine, but the menus and fonts are so tiny that I can't read them. When I try using Front Row, the pictures and vide are gorgeous and the fonts in Front Row are fine. It's just the fonts and menus in on the desktop and in other programs that are too small. Does anyone know how to fix?

    Edward,
That's the price of having a gazillion pixels!
You have two options - send less pixels to the display or change each application (Including the finder) to show larger fonts and icons.
The lower the resolution option is easy and fast. The downside of "zoom"-ing the display is it may look blocky at certain resolutions and the fonts and fine details in photos and movies may be lost if the mac has to alias or scale the video. If you do this - you might want to enable the menu bar item for display preferences to quickly switch between the setting you prefer. I use one setting for actually using the mac and another setting for playing movies and showing slides in FrontRow.
The change the preferences to make the fonts and icons larger is more of a pain but yields the most crisp display and you don't have to change things up. I would start with Finder Preferences (select an icon on your desktop and on the View menu - show view options - crank up the icon size and font size.) Unfortunately - you have to do this in each application you use. It also won't change the menu font sizes - you might need an "extension" from a developer to change that.

  • Gmail fonts too small, hard to read but are fine using Chrome

I recently downloaded Firefox 4 because Chrome has been really slow and crashing a lot. But when I opened Gmail, all the fonts display very small (too small for comfortable viewing) and after trying to tweak preferences, clear cache and cookies, nothing has worked. If I can't fix this I'm going to have to go to a new browser. I tried the no minimum font size setting, but it was already set to "none"
I can send a screen shot if that will help.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

  • Safari 3 font too bold

I have scoured Google and this forum and find no one talking about this, yet I have seen it on several machines: Safari 3 is making my bold fonts "crazy bold"...
The problem does not exist in Safari 2, and removing the bold just makes the font look regular (as you would expect it to look without a bold attribute). I even tried using numeric bold values (100-900), but they all display the same.
Any thoughts on what this issue might be and, more importantly, how to resolve it?
I'm having the problem on Mac OS X and Safari 3 only (IE6/7, FF2/3, and Safari 2 all look just fine (and Safari 3 on PC looks fine too)).
    Many thanks,
    Atg

In all cases, the font is supposed to be Arial Bold. The problem could be either corrupt font cache files, or the fonts themselves. For a possible easy fix, download and run Font Finagler to clear the system's font cache files.
If that doesn't do it, try putting a fresh copy of your OS X supplied fonts back on the hard drive. The instructions on how to do that without reinstalling the entire OS are at the bottom of my article, Font Management in OS X. Clear the font cache files again after reinstalling the fonts.

  • ICal fonts too small to read

I tried using iCal for the first time.
I can't read the fonts on my 30" monitor without strong magnification. No one here can read the fonts easily, even those with excellent eyesight.
How can I enlarge the fonts without using the Universal Access magnification, which makes everything unsharp and gives me a headache?
    Thanks,
BTW, when I enlarge the fonts for these forums, the lines run into each other. Can that be fixed? Or is that a problem with the site?
    I use Safari.
    Thanks again,

    I appreciate the help.
Unfortunately, changing resolutions on LCD is about the same, unsharpnesswise, as using the zoom feature in Universal access.
The ability to choose font size, font color, etc., was available in ODS 9 and previous, and should be available to us as a part of the system.
That it isn't and that, with typical native resolutions for LCDs fonts and all detail size is seen at about half WYSIWYG (half the printed-out size) is a huge fault of the Apple OS.
We are stuck with too small fonts and details in too many applications, windows, toolbars, etc.
I need to enlarge the fonts in iCal, without messing anything up like Universal access does. Otherwise, I cannot use it, nor can many people i know. Ity is that simple!
Any real solutions, not makeshift attempts at trying to help.
    Thanks again,

  • N80 Fonts too small to read

Does anyone know how to increase the size of the fonts so that things like phone numbers from phone book and text messages can be read by anyone ove the age of 30.
The text size on my N80 is about half the size of newspaper fonts and having a blue background makes it even more difficult to read

In the past the answer was always that changing font size wasn't possible and your only option was to choose a theme with high contrast.
I did see a couple of threads on here a week or so back about a 3rd party app that did apparently helped. Don't think the thread related to N80s specifically, but the app might work on there, too.
