If you don't have enough storage space, then you will have to delete some content. Transfer content into iTunes on your computer and then delete it from the iPad and you can sync it back later.
How to transfer purchases into your iTunes library

You can delete content in Settings>General>Usage>Storage. Movies and videos are the biggest storage hogs. Delete those after you transfer them into iTunes.
Most of your purchased content can be downloaded again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID, so you may be able to download the videos again.

I'm trying to buy more storage on my iPad but when I get to the "buy" button, it has my old Apple ID and I can't go any farther. I've changed my Apple ID on all my devices, logged out, logged back in, rebooted, etc., but that one area still has old one.
You can't buy more storage on an iPad. You are referring to space on iCloud and that probably won't accomplish what you are trying to do.

How do I add more storage on my iPad?
How do I add storage on my iPad? I can't update several apps because my storage is not sufficient.
You can't add additional storage to your iPad. You can see how much space apps are using via Settings > General > Usage, and how much free space that you have available via Settings > General > About > Available. You generally need approximately twice an app's size to be able to download and install it.
There are also wifi-enable drives that allow you to allow you to stream content to an iPad, so films, TV shows and music don't need to be stored on it e.g. Seagate GoFlex Satellite -
How do I get my music onto icloud from my ipad? I can see i have plenty of icloud storage but can't get my music to store on icloud hence taking up lots of storage on my ipad
If you want to be able to access your entire music library from iCloud, you'll have to subscribe to iTunes Match (http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/). Music purchased from the iTunes store is already in iCloud as it can be redownloaded at any time (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).

I recently purchased iCloud storage for my iPad Air so that I can store my photos in the cloud. I don't know how to do this. I want to be able to retrieve them as well.
Hello Janet
With that iCloud storage that you purchased, is used for mainly for iCloud Backup for your iPad Air, app data as in games and documents for like iWork and other apps that save data locally within the app. Dealing with photos in your Photo Stream they actually do not count towards that storage plan. If you don’t think that the storage is going to work for you, then cancel the upgrade you just made.

HT4859 How can I restore a previous backup in iCloud storage for my iPad?
How can I restore a previous backup in iCloud storage for my iPad?
Restoring an iCloud backup requires you to first erase your iPad. If you have any newer data that you want to save you'll need to do that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the iPad and when given the option, choose Restore from iPad backup.

The videos I purchased on iTunes are taking up all the storage on my IPad. Is there a way to remove them from my iPad to free up some storage, but store them in the cloud to access in the future?
Thx - the videos are on my Ipad - that is the problem - they are taking up all the storage and there is no room for anything else. Is there any place I can store them so that I can access them from time to time, but not have they use up all the space on the IPad? Sounds like the cloud is out...

Why can't I load any new video on my Ipad? It shows that I have used 27.2GB and have 609MB remaining even though everything listed including photos and camera only adds up to 7GB. I purchased additonal storage on Icloud and have 24GB left. I am getting "There is not enough available storage" message. "YOu can manage storage in setting".The only thing I can do in Settings is buy more ICloud space or delete.
How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.

How to Remove “Other” Data from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-remove-other-data-from-iphone/
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

The following message appears when I try to turn on the iPad..."Not enough storage..this iPad cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage available. You can manage your storage in settings." When I tap Close or Settings nothing happens
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I received a message stating Not Enough Storage. This iPad cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage available. The touch screen will not let me select settings to correct this. I did purchase more storage via my iPhone, but I still cannot get my iPad working.

Apps aren't stored in iCloud.
Are you trying to clear space in iCloud (which is stored on the internet, not in your iPad), or are you trying to clear some space in the internal storage of your iPad? -
