Storage dropped from 16GB to 7.5GB after moving photos to PC. Why?

I was nearing capacity on my 16GB iphone, so I moved photos to my PC. Now storage shows 7.5GB available instead of 16GB (7.5 GB Available, 6.1 GB Used). How do I get my storage back up to 16 GB?

HI Trev
This is quite odd. First of all i would like you to check your photos whether if it has increased or not. Could you please check whether new apps or videos are automatticaly synced to your phone while moving to pc?
This could be the problem. While elses you are transferring you photos from iphone to pc via itunes, Itunes automattical sync the apps which are not installed in your iphone from the pc.
Cheers
Kyaw

I have unplugged my router due to moving the tubledryer near by and since plugging it back in my speeds have dropped from near 70mb to doen near 10mb.
The teach team have been less than helpful. Have i reset mt DLM or is it something that will build up over time? Can the tech team reset my profile to give me the top speed and let my line settle?
    Any help greatly apprecaited MOds

If it was only your Homehub that you switched off it should not have done anything to the DLM. If you switched off the Openreach modem by powering it down correctly it should also not have caused a problem.
Is the speed test carried out connected by Ethernet or wireless?
Have you checked that the cables are all plugged into the correct places and are not running next to electrical cables.
Have you moved the homehub too near an electrical appliance that could be causing interference.
Try a factory reset of the Homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds.

  • BT Infinity sped dropped from 34Mb to 2.4Mb after ...

My telephone line wnet out of action on 22 December dure to local flooding problems.  Service was re-instated in teh New Year.  Before the interrupion to the telephone seervice (which resulted I beleive in a new section of cabling being replaced  - over 100 local phone lines were afffected) I had BT Infinity download speed of around 34MB and upload of around 6Mb.  Since reconnection of teh phone line this has dropped to a maximuk download of 2.4Mb and uplaod of 0.72Mb.
I have  loggesd this with the fault centre in India.  At first I was told that the problem was still with the telephone connec tion and there was a fault in an overhead cable somewhere.  I was told that I needed an engineer visit after this had been sorted.  I was given a date for a visit in 12 days time.  Today the time is up and no visit has taken place.  When I contacted teh fault centre again they denied making any arrangemtns for a visit (although they telephoned me twice to confrim the date and to ask whenther I wanted morning or afternoon).  The fault centre now tell me there is no fault showing on their test and that my computer is the cause.  (I am using a 2012 Apple iMac - the same set-up that was receiving the higher speeds up to 22nd December.)  I have been through every recommended action - disconnecting, taking out all connections, restarting the router, etc, etc) and it makes now differnece.  Connection between the router and the computer is by ethernet, and have also tried it with wireless.
I connot find any way to make direct contact with either BT Infinity in UK or with BT Openreach.  Can anyone suggest a solution to my problem - I am now getting slower speed with BT Infiinity than I was a year ago without the 'superfast' conncection.

The test gave the following results:
    Download: 2.37Mbps
    Upload: 0.72Mbps
    Ping Latency: 60.25ms
    Further diagnostic test gave:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 2.4 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 12 Mbps-0 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 2.41 Mbps
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.73Mbps
     Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 10 Mbps
The test result has indicated that you should contact your ISP for further assistance.

  • Lightroom library is almost 5gb after importing photos

I am new to Lightroom 5 and just imported about 4000 photographs.  I just added them to Lightroom since they were already on my hard drive.  I was amazed an confused why the Lightroom library file is almost 5 gb.  I have yet to do anything else except import.  I didn't think the library file would start to get large until I started processing and editing the files.  What can I do to not have my library file get so huge, or is this what I can expect with Lightroom?

Minimal means a thumbnail-sized preview, so anything larger than that would be recomputed at the time you first view the photo.  If you feel you'll be scrolling through all 4000 photos in Library Grid view at some point then compute Minimal previews.
I'd compute standard monitor-sized previews the first time you import a new folder of photos so you can do your tagging and flagging and rating and rejecting using the Fit or Fill zoom levels without waiting too long.  If you find yourself needing to zoom in to check focus on many of the images then maybe computer 1:1 previews for the newly imported folder, otherwise zooming into 1:1 will require a preview to be computed rather than looked up from the previews folder.
Once you go to Develop the previews aren't used except as a placeholder until the on-the-fly rendering has occurred as you zoom in or out or flip to the next image in Develop.
You'll figure out what you want to do after working on a few folders of images, the tradeoff between getting started on any of the photos in the folder vs waiting longer as you move to each one for the first time.

  • My iPhone storage went from a certain amount to another within 2 minutes. Why?

Last night, i deleted some stuff off my phone. Texts, 330 pictures, and some apps. I had about 650 MB worth of storage left and used about 12.1 GB. Then within 2 minutes, it went from 650 MB available to 394 MB available. Why is that?

    Wait ... it's in here somewhere ...
    Aha!  Found it:

  • Loaded new ipad(3) from ipad 1 backup.  After sync photos look low-res. Is there a way to get higher res images?

Have a new ipad (3rd gen).  Loaded apps from a backup of my original ipad.
So far everything is okay except the photos.  After the sync,  all the photos
appear to be low resolution and/or grainy.
I'm guessing this may be due to itunes or iphoto using lower resolution images when syncing to the ipad.
Is there any way to change this to a higher resolution or full resolution setting?

The resolution shouldn't change from one sync to the next - even if you sync to a new device - if the photos were in your photos folder on your computer and that is the sync folder that you have chosen to sync again - the resolution doesn't change.
    Try some basic "fixes".
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the photos app and restart.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.

  • How do I get photos to show in my collections folders after moving photos to a new location?

After exporting my main folder to a new location along with the .lrcat and .lrdata files, along with my backup files, all of my collections folders show zero images in them.  I need to somehow link these files together to get my collections back.  The pnotos are there, just not showing in the collection folders.

Whats the simplest and most easily mainted method for storing files?  Do folks dump them into one huge file and then sort with Lr collections or do they import into smaller files AND sort with collections.
I would like to back up the mess I have and use collections but not sure if there is an efficent way to do so.
I believe that sometimes you are using the word "file" to mean "folder"
The simplest and easiest way to manage files is to use the default import mechanism in Lightroom, which is to put them into folders by capture date. This takes zero effort on your part. From that point on, you NEVER move them, how simple is that? (there is one exception which I shall explain in a minute) and then you use Lightroom tools ... keywords and other metadata, to allow you to organize and search.
Backups are accomplished by making a backup of both your catalog file and all of your photos.
The exception to never moving your photos is when you need to move them to a new hard disk or new computer, then of course you should move them.

  • Problem with external editors after moving photos

I moved my photos from an external HD to the drive in my new iMac.  I did not change the names of the folders or files.  Lightroom still works.  The problem is that external editors, such as OneOne Perfect Photo and Color Efex, no longer work.  I can't open photos from Lightroom to be edited in those programs.  OneOne suggested fixing the disk permissions in Utilities.  I tried that but it didn't work.  I'm not sure the iMac even fixed the permissions, and the photos will won't open with an external editor.  Any suggestions?

Reload the firmware update and make sure it completes.

My iPhone overheats. Battery drops from 100/90% to 10% sudenly. Got the device 20 days ago. I'm currently living in The Hague, there is no Apple Store in this city, took an appointment in Amsterdam, after 3 hours drive and 60€ travel cost got into the Apple Store, 73 minutes delay on my appointment the Genius  tech tells me I should leave my device for further checks in the store and come back in a week or two. Not presicely the answer I was looking for, plus he did not have any device to lend me until my iPhone was checked. Quite dissapointed, Apple was standard for quality on customer satisfaction, in the last 10 years I bought 3 MacBooks, 5 iPdas, 7 iPods, 5 iPhones and 2 iMACs... please don't let me down. Dear Ocean, one is a complaint about the quality of the device.
The second about the quality on response from Customer Service.
No worries, I'll delete both post since it seems that won't bring anything productive.
    Good bye Apple!

  • IPad capacity drop from iOS 7 to iOS 8

    Hi,
I updated from iOS 7.1.2 to iOS 8 this evening on my wi-fi only 16GB iPad mini w/ retina display (model ME279LL/A). I noticed after the update that the available space on my iPad had dropped about 600MB. After connecting to iTunes further noticed that the capacity of my iPad dropped from 12.80GB to 11.74GB. What happened that I lost over 1GB of capacity?
I restored the iPad and recovered from my backup. Not sure what else could be causing this issue. 4.26GB seems like a lot of space to lose to formatting and whatnot.
    Thanks!

From what I've been hearing, iOS 8 itself takes up about 4.5 GB of space. Apple of course figures you won't need space anymore since you'll just store everything in the cloud now... lol.

  • Unsupported image format after moving from one project to another

I scanned several thousands of images to my Aperture library. Went thru all of them providing adjustments to many of them, keywords to all of them and adjust date/time to all of them. All of the pics were visible, format is jpeg.
This is a managed library (all pics within Aperture db).
This morning started to restructure the project files (had three of them). After moving couple of hundred images to newly created project file I started seeing "unsupported image format" red screen after clicking the jpeg. 20-30% of the pictures clicked showed on viewer "unsupported image format".
Tried regenerating the previews. Tried command-option start with first fix the preferences option. Then with rebuild option.
Tried moving the pictures back to their original project file.
No joy... Still 20-30% of the pictures show the "unsupported image format".
    Aperture 2.1.
Amy other tricks I could try?
Reported this to Apple aperture feedback of course.

Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network, Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
+Note: there is no importing involved+
The thumbs appear, but the images are added 2 or 3 times each and the events are all messed up.
This happens when you import one Library to another, which you've done by drag and drop:
Creating a black library and over writing the new with the old.
Your problem is arising because of the Network Share. iPhoto needs to have the Library sitting on disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Users with the Library sitting on disks otherwise formatted regularly report issues including, but not limited to, importing, saving edits and sharing the photos.

  • Is it possible change my iphone 4 order from 16gb to 32gb

Is it possible change my iphone 4 order. from 16gb to 32gb and have the same ship date.

I'm sure you can, you would just have to call them up and tell them that you want the 32GB instead. If you ordered it and wanted to change on the same day, i'm sure you would have the same ship date but if you changed it the day after, it might as well change. who knows. Give them a call and see what they say.

  • Excluding storage location from MRP run in Long Term Planning

    Hi,friends,
In my scenario , i want to exclude storage location from MRP run in long term planning. When i set storage location MRP indicator "2" in SPRO and SLoc MRP indicator "1" MRP4 in material master, i can exclude the storage location after run MRP with MD01/MD02,and i can see the expected result in MD04.But in Long Term Planning scenario the storage location can not be excluded after run MRP with MS01/MS02,and the requirements list in MS04 include the stock in the storage location i want to exclude. i dont know if i miss something.Plz give me some advice.
    Regards
    Joey

    Hi,
Refer the OSS Note 208017 - LTP: Long-term planning and storage locations
    ==========================================================================
    Symptom
In long-term planning (Transactions MSBT / MS01 / MS02 / MS03), the MRP indicator of a storage location for a material is not taken into account (material master, view MRP 2 [up to and including Release 3.1I] or MRP 4 [as of Release 4.0A]).
The storage locations excluded by MRP or planned separately are also planned in the plant segment.
    Additional key words
LTP, MM01, MM02, MM03, master data, MRP indicator, LGORT ...
    Cause and prerequisites
The MRP indicator for a certain storage location of a material is only taken into account in operative planning (requirements planning, MRP).
The long-term planning occurs exclusively at plant level.
    Solution
This is no error. The system works as intended.
The individual storage locations should not be distinguished in the long-term planning, in order to perform a comprehensive long-term planning.
This is important, for example, within the kanban processing where the storage locations with kanban MRP are excluded from the MRP, but in spite of that should be included in the long-term planning.
    ==========================================================================

    Siva

  • Flex 2 14 Battery Level Dropped from 57 to 7 in seconds

I've been using my Flex 2 14 for around 3 months. However, recently I've encounter a situation whereby my battery level had dropped from 57% to 7% in split second when I'm not plugged in. I was wondering could it be an manufacturing defect and what should I do to fix this problem?
Note: I use this laptop while plugging into the charger most of the time. The battery level is usually kept at around 55~60 only with the help of energy manager. Also, I had performed battery gauge reset once.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    SOLUTION FOUND !
I just found a solution to my battery issue that is apparently due to a bug on the latest update of Snow leopard (10.6.8). Parallels desktop that was in the Dock was making the Dock taking 100% of the CPU activity (checked in the activity monitor) using battery and heating my computer.
After I checked for such cases on teh web (see: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1181176 ), I removed Parallels Desktop and Windows Applications folder from the Dock and situation seems to be back to normal...
