Storage Import Export Service

I am trying to create a storage import job so I could move some on premise data to the cloud storage. The documentation for the Import/Export service seems to indicate the option to do this is located in the at-a-glance section of the storage account but
I cannot see it. I know its in preview but wanted to give it a try. Anyone know how to set this up?

Did you not find the "Import/Export service" in your storage account (like below picture)?
If you want to use it, I think u may need contact your service-administrator to subscribe this service.
If it doesn't work, you may need contact azure support team via
http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/support/contact/

Azure storage import/export problem

I have sent a set of files up as part of an import job to our Azure Storage. These are fixed-size VHDs of Hyper-V virtual machines that we want to relocate to Azure. I followed all of the instructions correctly yet they are showing up as Block
Blobs and not Page Blobs so they are useless to us. What needs to be done to get them changed to Page Blobs? What am I doing wrong when getting the files added to the drive that is making them show up as block blobs? I was able to get this
to work a year ago for different VHDs on a different account, what do I need to do this time?

Please make sure you are specifying the BlobType parameter while copying. This specifies the blob type for the destination blobs (values are:
BlockBlob and PageBlob. )
If no value is specified, the default is BlockBlob.

Import/Export - Trying to create the job

I am attempting to follow the directions at:
www.windowsazure.com/en-us/manage/services/storage/import-export-service-for-blob-storage
on the creation of an import /export job. However, when I follow through to the point of:
Create the Import Job
Once you have prepared your drive, navigate to your storage account in the Management Portal, and view the Dashboard. Under
Quick Glance, click Create an Import Job.
Under my management portal, I have a dashboard, but I do not have a "quick glance" or anything that leads to a 'create import job'.
It seems like there is something that I am just not getting here..

Import/Export Job in management portal.

I am trying to create an Import/Export job in portal, I read this document:

and I am unable to do this, document says download import/export tool, but I am unable to do that any help will be greatly appreciated.

I would request you to check if you meet all these prerequisites:
• You must have an active Azure subscription.
• Your subscription must include a storage account with enough available space to store the files you are going to import.
• You need at least one of the account keys for the storage account.
• You need a computer (the "copy machine") with Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, or a newer Windows operating system installed.
• The .NET Framework 4 must be installed on the copy machine.
• BitLocker must be enabled on the copy machine.
• You will need one or more empty 3.5-inch SATA hard drives connected to the copy machine.
• The files you plan to import must be accessible from the copy machine, whether they are on a network share or a local hard drive.

Import/Export - How to get Quick Access Token?

I am trying to create/submit an import/export job for the azure storage. I located the place to activate the import/export service in the Preview Features.
After clicking "Try it Now" button, I am prompted for the subscription name (no problem), but it is also asking for a Quick Access Token".
How / Where do I get the Quick Access Token? There is an article about getting tokens from the API, but that does not appear to be related to my issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Import -Export Utility in Shared Services

Hi,
Can anyone help me to get through the import-export utility of Shared Services?
I need to know
1)How to export security file information stored in shared services using xml file( I need to run it in weekly basis)
2)How to import it back if ever the security file gets corrupted?
Please help me with th same.

If you go with the csv format (yes, I know, you wrote xml) you don't need an internal id field.
Here's a snippet of a file I used to build a group in Shared Services 11.1.1.3:

(newbie) Importing/Exporting proxy service configurations?

Hello,
I'm new to AquaLogic and am going through its tutorial right now. I have a question: After I create a proxy service's flow chart going through all the configuration effort listed here[1], I would like to transfer this proxy service to another AquaLogic instance without needing to enter all this information manually in again.
Is there a way to save perhaps an XML representation of the proxy service (something that specifies all the configuration rules I entered) that I can the subsequently upload into another AquaLogic instance--or another way I can move a proxy service from one machine to another without needing to manually reconfigure it each time?

Material Type for an import - export company

Hi all,
i have this business scenario:
an import-export company in Italy that does only service of import and export of goods without purchase and sales of materials.
These materials enter in company's storage locations (but they're not of company's property) and then they leave the storage location to be delivered to another customer.
This company needs to manage these materials, in quantity, to have each day the situation of goods for each customer.
How can I manage in SAP these materials? which material type can I use?

I have seen something of trading scenario, but the most part of theseones regarding companies that buy and sell goods, and the goods are the proprerty of company. For my company, the scenario is a little different, because of goods that is only stocked in its storage location (NOT PROPERTY). And so i can't do a standard purchase order and a standard sales order.
But I have to manage the receipt , the issue and the stock of the materials, for each customer.
The flow is this:
customer A sends goods to company
company receives the goods (property of customer A)
company stock goods in its storage location (control the stock for each customer for each day)
company send goods to a different receptionner (customer B)
company bill transport and other services to customer A
For the management of these material can I use HAWA and in which stock i can put these, because the stock must be NO PROPERTY of company code.

Application import/export failing, hopefully a simple one though

hi all,
i'm very new to oracle and am trying to get going with xe. i'm working between work and home and want to be able to transport wherever i'm at to work/home - so i thought the application import/export function would be the best way? first of all, is it?
if so - i keep getting the
failed to parse SQL query:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
error
i'm running the same versions of oracle, on the same platforms (Application Express 2.1.0.00.39, winXPpro all service packed up). both my users have dba roles and the apps work fine on the machines i created them on. the import and install processes claim to be successful and the error only comes up when i try to log in to the application. any ideas?
btw - the apps are just simple tests, dependences etc with a couple rows in each table]
any help be much appreciated even if its "go read this!" as i've googled away & got not much....

Your problem is likely that in your office you do not have the tables required by your program. The export does not include your tables. You have to create them yourselves

Memory Limit for "IMPORT/EXPORT from MEMORY ID" statement

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me whether there is any memory limit exists for "IMPORT/EXPORT from MEMORY ID" statement.
Like may be we can transfer xx MB of data via this......or it is open, we can transfer any amount of data to ABAP memory via this.

1. Each user sessions have external sessions and each external sessions have internal sessions.
2. The programs being executed in the internal sessions can access ABAP memory
3.ABAP memory is a storage area for internal program variables like fields, structures, internal tables,,They can be passed between internal sessions of an external session.
4. you can transfer data through ABAp memory using IMPORT and EXPORT statements
5. after IMPORT FROM MEMORY ID <id> , you can use sy-subrc to check the existance of the cluster ID. here sy-subrc is not used to check whether the Import was successful or not.

Import/export of files for Quickoffice using an USB cable

Installed Quickoffice App, but cannot import/export files. Windows Explorer recognizes only photos and iTunes does not show office files on iPod and does not tolerate pdf, doc or ppt files from PC.

this is the way to upload/download files from iPod using USB cable, but it does not work in my case. Following advices of the Apple customer service I have reinstalled iTunes, updated the iPod software and even deleted/reinstalled the Quickoffice app again, but it did not help. In the iPod/Apps menu I see the app thumbnail, but no File Sharing section appears, so I am unable to copy/extract files through the cable. I can do it via WLan, but it is completely impractical, as I do not have any wireless connection at work. It is amazing how poorly compatioble can be non-Apple apps.

Any wifi/3g Bidirectional sync ways instead of import/export documents ?

Is there any way or any software for mac & ipad that will do bi-directional sync using 3G/Wi-Fi instead of importing/exporting for Excel & Pages documents?

I do this using Documents2Go Premium and a 3rd party cloud storage app (both Dropbox and Sugarsync - although I use the former much more than the latter).
