Storage Location for Trading Goods

Dear Experts,
I need to create a different Storage location for Trading Goods.
Process Flow :GRs > Sales order > Deliver > Billing.
Normally in Trading goods we don't do Delivery but in our system we required to create delivery.
So please Give me some idea & Link to make it happen.

The nature of a trading good (material type HAWA) is to buy a material from external company, store it, and sell it to customers.
The nature of a finished goods is produce it yourself, store it and then sell it to cusotmers.
So why would one need to use a FERT and exchange the naming if HAWA just does what it is designed for?
if you need an extra storage location for such a material type, then create one with OX09
(please dont create logical storage locations, this just confuses your users, stick to the physical locations)

Sub storage location for Finished Goods Material

Hi MM Gurus,
In our organization, FG materials are physically stored under different sub areas, even though the same lies under single storage location in SAP. Currently the users are downloading the stock information into excel and allocating the mentioned physical storage areas
Since the option of creating further storage locations at the same level or going for warehouse management is not feasible for us, can we resolve this issue by going for any sub storage location (sub dividing the existing storage location into physically storage sub areas)?

Yes your requirement is possible and I have seen it working in one of our client. They named the sub storage location, as STORAGE BIN, and this storage bin data is stored in material master under storage location view. This input field is created with help of abap.
This way your storage location is distributed under sub storage locations namely storage bin, this way you can create areas of your storage location without turning on warehouse management and then assign materials to the storage location and then to storage bin, thus meeting your requirement.

Can I assign several physical storage locations for each virtual machine when using the replication-feature from Hyper-V 2012 R2?

Hi everyone,
I have 2x physical servers running Hyper-V 2012 R2. Each hosts several virtual machines. The VHDs of the VMs are stored on several dedicated physical disks to have a performance boost. For exampe if VM A has two VHDs attached I made sure that the VHDs are
on different physical disks to have them not slow-down each other in case of intensive disk accesses.
So far so good. I was looking forward to the replication-feature. The idea is to have the two physical servers have their primary running VMs being replicated to the other physical server and vice-versa. I was hoping to have the chance to choose for each
individual VM where the replicated VHD will be stored. But instead I can only see the one location/path which is configured in Hyper-V Manager when I activate the replication-feature on the server.
Is there by any chance a way how to select the storage location for each VHD/VM if using the replication-feature of Hyper-V 2012 R2?

Secondly, you could replicate different VMs to different storage locations to perform some of the disk balancing you are trying to perform. Lastly, you could copy the vhd file to a different location
before starting the VM.

The part I quoted from your reply sounds exactly like the action I'd like to perform, but as you pointed out before this should not be possible.
How can I perform the action (replicating each VM to a storage location) as you mentioned secondly? To sum it up again:
2x physical machines carrying severel HDDs
8+ VMs spread to run on the 2x servers
when setting up replication I can only set the storage-location from server A on B and vice versa B on A

Default Plant and storage location for components in MFBF

Hi,
I have 2 plants 1000-procurement plant and 2000- production plant. I am using special procurement key 70( Withdrawal from alternative plant from 1000 to 2000) for components in Plant 2000. The requirements for the components are transferred from 2000 plant to 1000 plant. The 1000 plant run MRP for the dependent requirements and procure the materials and transferred to the production storage location in Plant 2000.The raw materials are purchased in plant 1000 and transferred to Plant 2000 production storage location based on the manual reservations created with movement type 301. This is fine.
But when I do backflush in MFBF the plant and storage location for the components issue are displayed as plant 1000 which is the procurement plant and the production storage location in plant 2000-production plant location. In the BOM the production storage location is production storage location of plant 2000. Since we use the special procurement key system defaults the plant as 1000(procurement plant) insteadd of 2000(production plant). can we make this plant default to the production plant 2000 as default in the MFBF goods issue screen.

          - Procurement type (maybe F)
          - Special procurement (Maybe U)
          - Plant (Maybe 1000).
          - Issuing plant (maybe 2000)

Changing Storage Location for Optimized Photos?

Is it Possible to change the storage location for optimized photos...-- takes up a lot of space on my primary drive-- i'd like to put it on the secondary with the photos.

When you say:
We have activated authorization check at storage location level using authorization object 'M_MSEG_LGO'.
Does it mean that you are just using the object - M_MSEG_LGO in the authorizations or does it mean you have activated the authorization check at SLoc level in config along with the usage of auth. object(please note, they are 2 different things).
The goods movement is part of the MM-IM component & this is used in MM, PP etc. So the object M_MSEG_LGO is checked whenever goods movement are posted, provided the config has been activated.
To be sure, check in table T001L whether the field XBLGO has a X for the SLoc where you require this control.

Automatically creation of storage location for material, in MF60

Hi all,
my collegue of PP module uses MF60 transaction.
When he puts XXXX as Replenishment storage location, the system tells him this error: To stge loc. XXXX does not exist for material M1010000182 in plant 0001.
In MM i have activate the automatic creation of storage location for plant 0001 and for all movement types.
Why MF60 does not respect this requirement?
If I try to do movement type 311 with MIGO, manually, there's no problem to transfer the material from a storage location to , XXXX s.loc.
Is there something more that I have to do?

Creation of storage location for halb, every thing processed with raw materials for production orders reg fert and even settled. Later a storage location is to be created for halb. When I created storage location for halb and when I want to post initial stock through MB1C I am getting error saying material type and storage location not maintained. Can any one solve my problem. Are the material masters of your materials extended to the new storage location / have you defined automatic creation (for movement) in customizing (SPRO > Material Manegement > Inventory management & PI > Automatic movements > Create Storage Location Automatically)?
If the material masters are not extended you can't book those materials to that SL.

where and how to find the storage locatation for the consignment stock (customer stock ) for more than one storage location .

Block Storage location for particular material

Hi,
We gave defined storage location for finished product as follows>
1050 - 2-8°
1040 - RT
When I have created one material, wrongly i have created it in 1050 instead of 1040.
Then i have extend that material to 1040. Now that material is showing both storage locations.
Is it possible to block storage location 1050 for this material only?
Because of both SLOC thre are chaces of wrong receipt in 1050.
Pl. help me to solve this problem.

I have flagged storage location for deletion but till for this storage location system allows receipt also system allows stk. transfer in this location.
Pl. help me so that storage location is permanently deleted from the material or system not allow for GR.

Sale order costing for Trading goods

Dear Experts,
My client having retail industry.Client used to sold customers also like outwright customers direct sales not through retail stores. Now business would like to check margin agasinst one sale order through costing. My SAP working enviornment is IS Retail ECC6.0.
1. Is it possible to do sale order costing for trading goods.(Goods p[urchased for all stores not particular customer)
2.Wihtour BOM is it possible?

Error in KE27 - run for trading goods

Dear gurus!
i have a error when i run KE27.
Current, my customer don't have production activity. In SAP system, we activated Material Ledger. in period, i wanna run Periodic valuation (KE27) for all trading goods. (Note that we don't have finished good because not have production, customer just sell trading goods)
I configured some steps follow:
1. Define and Assign Valuation Strategy (in this step, i wonder that which valuation strategy is user for valuation for trading goods)
- valuation trategy : 001
- sequence     material costing       quantity field

- assignment of valuation strategy

2. Define Access to Actual Costing/Material Ledger

Then, after run period closing in Material ledger, i run KE27 to periodic valuation , but system get error:
" Message no. KE435 - Costing key 01 does not exist
In Profitability Analysis, the system tried to valuate by reading a product cost estimate. The Customizing settings in CO-PA call for valuation using costing key 01.
This costing key is not defined "
explicitly, i maintained costing key and assigned this to trading goods - material type.
Please, help to fix it!

Activating ML is necessary because in my customer's company sell goods at planed price then revaluate value of inventories and COGS at actual price in the end of each of period. So we decide to use standard price control for trading goods and active Material ledger.
end of period, we run period procedure of ML for trading goods, we expect allocation different amount, revaluate inventories and consumption. Run revaluation step of costing run in ML, we revaluate all   ending inventories and consumption transaction except billing transaction. So, we think that we need to run Ke27 to revaluate all line item document in COPA from billing.
so anybody to help me revaluate consumption amount from billing at actual price in end of period?

Any Idoc for "storage location for a material" ?

Does anybody know if there is an IDoc type to insert storage location for a material (Table MARD).
BDC is also an option but IDoc should be a better choice.

Hi Ankur,
Storage location view of a material can be created with
MATMAS message type ( Segment E1MARDM ) . You can also use program RMDATIND with relevant data to add the storage location view.

how can I open a storage location for a material ?

A storage location is customizing, this is in general open to take any material.
depending on the customizing setting for Auto.create storage location you allow SAP to add the storage location view to your material master automatically with the first movement of a material to a storage location or not.
if you dont allow that, then you have to maintain the storage location view in material master manually for each storage location before you can post a movement for this material in a certain storage location.

MIGO: determination of storage location for empties

Hello SD experts,
Case: plant A delivers materials to plant B (interplant delivery). This delivery is posted GR through TC MIGO (based on delivery). Now, the issue is that SAP is not able to automatically determine the storage location for the empties (crates and crate containers). Can ayone tell me how we can let SAP do this automatically?
Currently, we use WM for all finished products (storage location 0100). Empties are however not WM managed (storage location 0110). Empties are calculated and added in the delivery (user exit MV50AFZ1); not in the sales order.

Hi,
- If storage location for picking is not specified in the order item, the system determines the storage location when it creates the outbound delivery and copies it into the delivery item. Otherwise, the storage location entered in the order item is used in the outbound delivery.
- The system determines the picking location based on a rule defined in the delivery type. The following rules are shipped in the standard system:
- MALA: The picking location is determined based on the shipping point, the delivering plant, and the storage condition for the material as defined in the material master.
- RETA and MARE: These rules are mainly used in trade scenarios.
- You can also use the customer exit in SAP enhancement V02V0002 to implement storage location determination.
- The picking location search is activated for each delivery item category.
