Storage Location MRP - transfer reservations

We have this set up and are creating 311 reservations to transfer SLOC to SLOC. Is there any way to set this up to use a 2 part process (like 313, 315)? We need one location to "issue" when they post and the other location to be able to "receive" post. It's a problem that posting the 311 moves the goods immediately to Unrestricted. We'd also be open to any process that would automatically move the goods to blocked stock when the 311 was posted with MB1B. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You cant create 2 reservation in the system for stock transfer b/w slocations.
Automatic reservations are only created using Mvt type 311,not 313 and 315.
For your second query,you cant post the stock to blocked because 311 is one step procedure and from URS tyo URS.For that to happen use 343/344 mvt types for your business scenario.

MD04 - Subreq - Storage location MRP area

Hi all,
I have an issue of Subreq in MD04 which is not assigned to the the good MRP area.
I'm explaining :
Business process
   -> I work with a subcontractor
        case 1 : either I buy raw material to be processed and delivered it directly to my subcontractor
        case 2 : either I send raw material from my physical stock to my subcontractor
   -> I create subcontracting purchase order with indication as components, the raw material.
   -> In case of the components are already in my subcontractor (case 1), the reservation (Subreq) should not consume my physical stock.
   -> In case of the components are in my physical stock (case 2), the reservation (Subreq) should consume the physical stock.
Solution choosen
Then I decided to create a storage location MRP area : "EXTERN" as External.
I assigned a storage location "EXT" to this MRP area.
I assigned this MRP area to the material in MRP1 / MRP Area.
In the purchase order, in the components popup,
For case 1 : I assigned "EXT" as Prod.Stor.Loc and Supply area
For case 2 : nothing special is filled
Issue
For the case 1, althought I assigned the storage location "EXT", the Subcontractor Requirement is not attached to the good MRP area.
WHY?
Remark : I didn't use the subcontracting MRP area because I would like to have 2 cases : case 1 & case 2.

Your system is working as designed. The following note explains the system design in more detail:

Take a look on the relevant information provided by this note below:
Reason and Prerequisites
The most important point to understand the system behavior is the fact that the withdrawal of the (subcontracting) component is generally carried out during the goods receipt for an SC procurement proposalfrom the subcontractor stock that is managed at plant level from an inventory management point of view and that has no reference to a storage location at all.
This causes that subcontractor requirements can never enter a storage location MRP area, since you can later not post the withdrawal from this MRP area.
Thus SC-requirements always enter the SC segment of the plant MRP area or the SC-MRP area.
The SC MRP area in turn is supplied by stock transfer reservations from the plant MRP area or via third-party order processing through procurement proposals with goods receipt directly to the subcontractor. A supply through the materials planning from a storage location MRP area is not possible.
For the above reason, SC-requirements do also not carry any storage location, since the storage location does not have any control function at all for SC-requirements:
You cannot and you should not determine a storage location MRP area (see above), and the subcontractor MRP area is determined via the vendor of the procurement proposal, thus it is independent of the storage location.
See also Note 376050 on this topic that makes a modification available which prevents the deletion of the storage location in the subcontractor requirements, so that you can use, for example, customer-specific reports to analyze the storage location.
Please observe that the mentioned modification note 376050 only makes the storage location available on table RESB, so that you can use it on custom report. This modification will not make the storage location to be considered by MRP or on MD04.

STO between plant and storage location MRP area

Dear PP/DS experts,
For some business requirements, I want to model stock trnasfer order scenario from plant to storage lacation MRP area but the system only make stock trasnfer reservation.
In my EPR system, I maintainted storage location MRP area material with special procurement 45, then the transportaion lane is created between location 1200(location type 1001) to MRP area 1300(location type 1007).
My question :
1) Is it possible to make stock transfer order scenario instead of stock transfer reservation between plant and MRP area ?
2) If possible, Is there something to do more in master data maintenance except mentioned above in ERP ?

Yes you can perform intracompany STO (Plant to plant) and STO at Storage location level at the same time,

this option gives you the ability to plan a storage location separately or exclude it completely from MRP. I am confused why the sloc mrp indicator is given at material master level in MRP4 view? it should be at storage location level right?
also could some one explain in what scenarios do people use this seperate storage loc mrp and exclude storage loc mrp with an example?

This setting is applicable for storage location only, if you given storage location while entering in material master, then only this screen in MRP4 will appear otherwise won't.
While running MRP system need to consider this setting, thats the reason the storage location data is considered in MRP 4 view

if you want reorder point planning for that storage location sepeartely, then you can use separate storage location MRP
& also, you can exclude the storage location during MRP, for this particular material., if you set in config, it will applicable for all material

Storage Location - MRP

Hi Experts,
1. I have excluded a storage location ( say SLoc001) in the SPRO config : "Storage Location - MRP -> Storage location stock excluded from MRP"
2. In the Scheduling agreement (ME31L) i am giving the excluded storage location (SLoc001) as the 'Storage Location"
3. Now, when I am running MRP for a material (say Mat001) for the plant (say Pnt001), it is generating the Schedule lines with delivery schedules for the excluded plant (SLoc001), which should not happen ideally. Ideally I have to receive the message "SLoc001 StLoc : not plnd" in the MRP Planning Result. But this is not happening in my case.
Please advise if i have missed any thing.This is very urgent.

Hi Manju
Your material code was already extended to the SLoc.
You have excluded Sloc from MRP now.
In this case to MRP4 view and change the Storage location MRP indicator to '1'
This activity have to do for all materials now.
Going forward your customisation will take care of this thing for newly created or extended material codes.

APO Consolidation location for Storage Location MRP Area

We are using Storage Location MRP Area .
Our Scenario is like ->
1 Plant -> n MRP AREA -> n Storage Locations
We are using consolidation location determination rule .
But actually we observed SO requirement is appearing at plant level in APO instead of MRP level although stock confirmation is done is MRP Storage location level only .
Things are working fine if we dont use consolidation location rule . We also observed that confirmation sub-item in SO doesnt show confirmed Sub-location for consolidation location . Transportation lanes are also maintained but requirement should pass to MRP location which is actually not happening .
Please help , thanks .

ya GATP check is configured at sublocation level only .
While in case of consolidation location only comfirmed orders are appearing at Plant level .
Also Stock transport requisitions are not getting transfered which is also a pain .

Updation of Replenishment storage location in MF60 ( reservation creation )

In REM, we are using MF60 for two step material staging.
We have gone for two stage staging process.
First shop person will create reservation and then the store person will issue the material against the reservation.
Here when the resrvation is getting created , user
do not want to give the replenishment storage location on the sap screen.
User considers this as a pain.
Is there any way to bring the replenishment storage location
automatically updated in the reservation?
Please let me know in both scenarios,
scenario one --- by using inventory management
scenario two --- by using warehouse management.

Storage Location Stock transfer with value also transfered to a diff G/L Ac

Hi all,
In my scenario, I have to post a Sloc to Sloc mvt with regular 311 one step, but this does not have any FI impact. What I need is to to a transfer of storage location but also, the value of the transfered stock should me moved to a different GL account. any ideas on how to map this? I'm thinking of creating a new mvt type but not sure on how to define the FI part.
All ideas are greatly appreciated.

With Different GL Account I mean for example I have 10EA of material X at cost of 10 in SLoc 1000, that means my total valuated stock is $100 and the same is on GL Acc 135010
I want to do something like a "311" and move 5 EA of this material X to SLoc 2000, and the result should be
5EA in Sloc 1000 ---- GL Account 135010 $5
5EA in Sloc 2000 ---- GL Account 135020 $5
Both Storage Locations are in the Same plant
as per my knowledge G/L account determination take place at valuation class of material not storage location level
second at storage location we have physical stock only not any material valuation
material valuation will take place at plant level ,you know it.
might be split valuation will help you for different price search in forum for split valuation where we can assign different valuation class and different G/L for one material

In transfer posting using mvt type 311,i want to make the storage location defaulted by a particular storage location. In other words system should not allow transfer posting if i use other storage location. Is this possible?

If there is shortage of stock to fulfill reservation reuirement , I want that reservation storage location should be appeared in purchase requisition so that when the stock is received from vendor, it can be directly posted to desired storage location.

As explained by my freinds if you have configured the MRP run at storage location level then after MRP run the system will generate requirements as per the requirement types collective or individual that you have mantained in the Material master for an particular material.
So the point i want to make over here is you can default the storage location in PR through MRP run also while creating Po from the generated PR (thu MRP).
Its upto you that you want seperate PO or single Po for two diffrent PR.
And at the time of GR the storage location will be copied from the Po though at the GR level you can post the stock to any other storage location as per your need.
Coming to your second question that you want to post the stock to an storage location against an reservation, for that i strongly belive that you will have to do one more transaction for the same ie issue or transfer posting against the reservation. Not possible at the GR level.

Need Help on MRP Storage Locations

I'm having an issue with APO MRP areas.
The scenario is, I have SMI (supplier managed inventory) and client managed inventory in two storage locations with different stocking types in ECC. The two storage locations are physically separated but they are under same plant. If I have to plan this in APO I have to create 2 MRP areas to distinguish b/w SMI and client storage location. When I Cif this storage locations to APO it will be treated as separate location with location type 1007. When there is a requirement from Client and when I run the planning run STR are generated (since I have maintained transportation lanes b/w them) against SMI and I need to send this STR's to ECC and do the execution. So my query is how ECC will consider this STR's that are generated from the planning run , and how execution will take place. Mean to say how the goods movement happens in ECC. Is there any setting need to be done apart from setting MRP area storage locations, MRP area materials, Creating Integration model, activating integration model. Setting up transportation lane b/w client location>>SMI location.

I agree. And I have modelled this in my system. Two storage location under the same plant are defined as two MRP areas in ECC and then I have CIFed these MRP areas to APO which are identified as two separate locations. I have maintained Transporation Lanes b/w this.When I created forecast(200 ea) manually in Product view for Location 1 (which is our company storage location) and when I run the Heuristics a purchase requisition for 200 quanity is created for SMI location 2. When again if I run the heuristic or save the results a Stock Transfer Reservation is generated. This is the expected results from APO planning.
My question is when i generate the STR's in APO, how this STR's will get executed in ECC (How goods movements happen). ECC team says that they cannot use STR's for executing the goods movement. Is that right?
Since SAP has provided MRP Areas Storage Location functionality in SAP APO there should be a way to execute this STR's in ECC. Can you please give any valuable recommendations.
****I have a new issue for now. When I'm trying to transfer the STR's from APO to ECC the STR's are not getting CIFed to ECC. I have selected the Manual reservation as the section criteria and my intergreatrion model is active with no CIF errors. Can anyone tell me if I'm missing any CIF/Master data setting.

How can I include the minimum stock of storage location in the mrp run.

I have in plant 1030 storage location 1001 and 1006.
MRP1 Lot Size = EX
           MRP type = PD
           Reorder Point = 5
MRP2 Safety Stock = 5
MRP4 for 1001 is not filled
MRP4 for 1006 Sloc MRP Ind = 2
                         Reorder point = 2
                         Replenishment qty = 3
If no stock and I run the mrp I get
a PurRqs for 8 with a automatic MtlRes of 3 going to storage loc 1006
If I create a reservation in 1006 for 10 units and run the MRP again
a PurRqs for 15 with a MtlRes of 10 going to storage loc 1006.
I want the result to be PurRqs for 18 with a MtlRes of 13 going to storage loc 1006.
10 for the reservation and 3 to fill storage loc 1006 with the replenishment qty.
How can I acheive this?

Please observe what is stated on question 6 of FAQ note 550954, regarding storage locations planned separately:
6. Question:
    A storage location should be planned separately. Is it possible to
    consider external requirements?
    Answer:
    No. The storage location MRP is a very simple reorder point planning
    procedure, during which only reorder point and replenishment
    quantity are defined. More complex settings can be implemented via
    storage location MRP areas.
Therefore, I'd suggest you to use MRP areas to map this scenario.

Multiple receivng storage locations on Reservation (movement type 311)

We have a requirement where we create a reservation document either using BAPI or BDC (MB21). At the time of creation we require to maintain different receiving storage location on the reservation. Currently SAP allows to maintain receiving storage location on the header field RKPF - UMLGO only and then copies the same value on all line item field (RESB-UMLGO)..The line item field is not editable or set as I/O field therefore working on finding a user exit or BADI to update fields RESB - UMLGO in background. Has any one had this requirement and in case yes can you please advise how was this addressed.

Hi,
If my understanding is correct. You want to transfer post a stock of material from one storage location to another ( IM perspective ) and from one bin to another bin belonging to different storage types but same plant ( WM perspective ).
As this transfer posting does not involve any Sales order what is the logic behind the selection of movement type 311 E.
I hope you can very well make use of 311 movement type for the transfer posting in IM which will lead to the generation of a PCN in the WM side. On confirming the same you will be able to do the reflection of Transfer posting in WM side also.
I would suggest you to follow the above steps.
1) First check the transfer posting 311 E which you have already completed a PCN in the background. If it is availble, just try to confirm the posting Change notice which will clear off the negative entry and a correponding postitive entry in the receiving storage type.
2) In case if the system have not generated the PCN, then better to cancel the material docuemnt and re do the transfer posting to carry out the process from the start with the movement type 311 which will yield a PCN which can be confirmed to see the stock in the required storage type and in the respective bin accoring to the strategy set.
