Storage tab screw-up - What's up?

OK - so here's the thing... until I did the latest Java update, my Storage tab was pretty accurate. It showed that I had about 177GB of Audio files (true). Now it seems as if all those audio files are being included in "Other" - here's a screenshot of my internal SSD and my clone (which I have not cloned since the Jave update):
Notice that my week-old clone correctly shows 177.87GB taken up by audio, but that my SSD Storage tab shows all that space now used as "Other"...
It's nothing to really worry about, I know. But it's always been a fairly good indicator of what's what in the past - and now it isn't.
Any file I should delete and rebuild? Anyone know what's going on?

I wouldn't think so - the only reason I point at the Java update is that it's the only 'new' thing I've installed since my last clone (which appears to be just fine).

What do i do if while replacing my iphone 4s screen i lost one of the screws on the inside near the camera? am i okay without that screw or what should i do?

I was replacing my cracked screen on my iphone 4s and while unscrewing one of the screws it fell out and i cant find it. It was the upper screw near the camera on the EFM shield and antenna clip. I was wanting to know whether i would be okay without that screw or what i should do?

A couple of things I would suggest. If you have a friend with a broken iPhone of the same type, they might be willing to let you take it apart to get the missing screw. Or, if you bought the replacement screen from one of the reputable online sources (as opposed to some fly-by-night ebay vendor), then you might want to contact them and see if they will sell you the single screw for some minimal price.

Device Monitor - Black except for Storage tab

My Device Monitor (from Quick Settings) is completely blank except for the Storage tab. That means Battery, CPU, and Memory are all not loading properly.

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

In OSX Mountain Lion, In "About This Mac", On the "Storage" Tab: What types of files (e.g. file extensions) are grouped as "Backup" type files?

There's about 60Gb of "Backup" type files shown on my hard drive, but I don't beleive that I have created any such files. Can anyone tell me the types of files I should be searching for on my drive? (I'm trying to reduce clutter on my drive and eradicate any unnecessary files).

If you see "Backups" category on the internal drive, it means that Time Machine is creating local snapshots. Read > http://pondini.org/TM/30.html
Local snapshots are deleted when the internal drive is getting full, so you don't have to worry about local snapshots

I had about 17 tabs open on my browser. I clicked a link to open another one and when the tab opened the other tabs disappeared. What happened here?

I had 17 tabs open. When I clicked a link to open a new tab all the other tabs disappeared. I thought a new window had been opened instead, but this is not the case there is only one window open on my mozilla browser. If I try to close the window I get a message that says there are 26 tabs opened, I opened 9 more tabs. Can anybody tell me what is going on here or how I might figure this out?
Also, when I close a tab and try to reopen the tab using the right click menu, the 'undo closed tab' menu is disabled. What happened here? Can anybody tell me how to re-enable it?

I've seen some occasional glitches with windows losing the toolbar area, but not one that disturbing.
If you click and drag down on the 18th tab enough to tear it off into a new window (and possibly the same for the other newer tabs you opened), can you get the 17 tabs to re-appear in the first window? If not, I'm not sure there is a way to mend the window. If it's NOT a private browsing session, you might have to use Firefox > Exit (or File > Exit) and restore your session to get a working window. That won't work with a private window...
As a backstop, you might also right-click a tab in the window > Bookmark All Tabs before ending your session. (Because session cookies and other transient data are not preserved when you reload bookmarks, this isn't as effective as restoring a session. On the other hand, bookmark storage is less fragile than session data storage.)
Regarding Undo Close Tab, are the closed tabs listed on the History menu under Recently Closed Tabs? If so, that context menu item definitely should be enabled.

ICloud Mail size (through iCloud Manage Storage tab)

So I have 43 messages in my inbox. There is one excel spreadsheet attachment that is 14kb. No photos, nothing. I have deleted EVERYTHING from every possible mail folder that exists in icloud mail. I have gone on the website to confirm deletions, I have double checked the Mail app on my iMac(Yosemite). I then go on to my iPhone 6(which only has icloud as the sole mail acct), into the icloud settings tab, manage storage, and the "mail" says it is taking up 125 mb of space on icloud. How is this possible? It specifically says it is just mail, no backup, nothing else, just emails that take up 125 mb. I find this hard to believe. There is no way to manage this either like you could with other apps.
Can anyone help me solve this incongruency? What am I missing?

It might be caused by storage "buffering". If so, the space will adjust automatically when another iCloud feature uses the space previously allocated to your deleted email. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4873.

Page links/navigation tabs screwed up

My website looked fine until I added an new page. Now the tabs at the top of each page are all screwed up with duplicate tabs and not showing the new page.
Any idea on how to fix it? I tried republishing each page.
Strangely on the Trunk Monkey page the tabs are correct. Is this a known problem with the template I'm using?

I know there's another thread around here about these rollover issues with suggestions, but I'll try to remember what I did to clear things up. I was having the same problems where the rollover navigation links were acting screwy. Several people suggested republishing the site with the "show in navigation bar" property unchecked and then republishing the site checked. This did not work for me. I also tried deleting the nav files directly from my iDisk and then republishing, but still no dice.
What finally worked for me was to change the name of my site, republish, and then change it back and republish. Strange. It worked, but in the end I decided to scrap the whole site and start over again.

Updated to mozilla 9.0.1 and when opening firefox get 2 tabs one being "whats new in firefox" annoying. Got rid of it yesterday but today when logged on it reappeared

I updated to Firefox v 9.0.1 and have found when opening Mozilla 2 tabs appear. I only want my home page to come up. It is very annoying. The 2nd tab is the one that congratulates you and tells you what is new in firefox.

Here is the solution which was very simple. I will not try your solution due to the fact the problem is solved and I am a great believer in "if it aint broke - dont fix it"..

On a 5s with 64G, my storage went from under 3Gs to 21Gs after upgrade to iO 8.1. What to do about it?

FIRST, back up the phone to iTunes, then sync it. A sync will frequently reduce the size of Other. If that fails, connect the phone to your computer, click on its name in iTunes, and click Restore iPhone. First time, restore your backup. If Other does not get smaller then you will have to restore again and set it up as New, then manually add back your apps and music. You will lose any app data, however. It may help to understand what Other actually is. See: What is "Other" and What Can I Do About It?

I can no longer open a new tab by clicking on it or by using file and new tab menu, so what do I change or reset for new tabs to work?

The tabs were working fine, but now tabs will not open when I click on the 'open a new tab + ' button, or if I go to 'file, new tab'. I checked tabs settings in Options and all is checked, and I even reinstalled firefox. What do I do to reset or change settings so the tabs will open?

There is a reported incompatibility between the Ask Toolbar and Firefox 3.6.13 that causes new tabs to not open. This problem needs to be fixed by Ask; they need to update their toolbar add-on for Firefox. Until the incompatibility is fixed by Ask, you can disable the Ask Toolbar or un-install it from your system.

Currently I am having a big issue to access within this website's the "SHOP section(tab)" I ca click on the tabs and read the info in each section, except for the "Shop" Tab.

To the affect that this website is being updated. Your items in your cart will be in your cart.
Then the website's screen kicked me out the door.
A few days later I accessed the main page of this website with no problem.
I can read the information on the main web page pertaining to items I need to purchase, etc., with no problems.
I click and maneuver from on one tab to another from the main page within this website with no issues.
When I click on the "SHOP section(tab)" within this website to complete my purchase.
Part of this website an error occurs on this "SHOP tab".
"Safari can't connect to the server".
Safari can't open the page "https://and the name of this website" because Safari can't connect to the server "www.the name of this website".
I click on the reload from the view of the toolbar and I can't access this website's"Shop section(tab) at all.
I e-mailed the webmaster of this website a few times, but no response.
In the past I was able to access the "Shop section(tab") within this website many times to purchase items with no issues.
Now I am at my wits end as I really need to complete my purchase from this website.
I cannot purchase these items from other websites. Only this website.
So, I really need anyone's tech expertise to help me access the "SHOP" tab within this website.
I also have another website that i have visited numerous times within the last 6 months with no issues.
Now I can't access this website at all.
Safari error: "Safari can't connect to the server".
I can't figure this out
No issues with:
* Comcast tech says that My modem, Wi-Fi connections are fine.
