Hi, i try to migrate the HSC0 from version 6.1 to version 7.1 and take this opportunity to consult on the installation of HSC0 where the PARMLIB member LKEYINFO (LKEYDEF) Product for this new version V 7.1 is telling me no longer supported, please I would like to confirm if this is so, and where i set the license application for this new version.

I am making a library software, and it contains a search engine that scans the details of books and other library documents. I need to scan the contents page of each book using a photo scanner and convert the scanned data into text format, so that I can do a word search in it. How can I do that completely in java?

similar to google.If you dump the texts the search will be linear. Word for word is searched from the beginning to the end. This of course is slow for huge text masses. To overcome this the text must be indexed. The are special free text search engines available for this purpose. Ordinary SQL/table based databases aren't that suitable.

Software update and iLife help not working in Admin account

For the last few weeks (maybe since iLife 11 was installed) software update and iLife help has quit working on the single administration account on my iMac. All works fine on the secondary accounts.
If I try to use software update it says everything is up to date, even though I know there are updates available that can be seen if checking from a different account on the machine. In iLife, if I try to access the help files it tells me I need to download them. I click to download and after a few seconds it takes me back to the front help page and I then go through the entire process again but the help download never happens. On secondary accounts the help files work no problem.
I've tried many of the tips for deleting helpfile plists, but nothing seems to work for me.
Can any kind person list for me everything I should look to delete or move in the account to get these things working again?

Since the issue is specific to your original user account, you can proceed in two ways. One is to log into your new account, make a list of the preference files (plists) located in /username/Library/Preferences/, including any in the ByHost subfolder, log back into the original account, move everything on that other account's list from the original account's Preferences folder into a newly created folder on the Desktop, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can copy the ones in the Desktop folder (one at time) back into /Preferences/, restart, and see if the problem returns. If so, you've identified the corrupt/conflicting one. Continue with all of them until isolating the bad ones. That'll save you the trouble of resetting preferences.
The second way is much more detailed and I'll not burden you with the steps unless the above doesn't fix the issue.

Enterprise library 3.1 installation issue on windows 7

I am trying to install enterprise library 3.1 (May 2007), but it givesme the following error. the installer requires the .NET framework ver 2.0 which is not present on this computer) i have also installed visual studio ultimate-
2010 now, what should i do to resolve this error? should i install just .net 2.0? will it create any issues if i do that.

You could try deleting the /Library/Printer/EPSON and the /Library/Caches/Epson/ folder and then reinstalling the updates.

Application Insights Trace Listener w/ Enterprise Library Logging

Is it possible to use Application Insights with Enterprise Library Logging?
I have not had much success in setting up the ApplicationInsightsTraceListener in place of the Azure DiagnosticMonitorTraceListener that I was using previously, but it isn't immediately clear as to why.
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely off track!

Is Enterprise Library still relevant?

I am going to port an old C++ application to C# and intend to replace the C++ custom written cross-cutting libraries with third party cross-cutting frameworks/libraries.   In particular, I have been reviewing the Enterprise Library
for the past week.   One issue that raises a significant red flag is that the version 6 of the Enterprise Library is not backwards compatible with version 5.   For example, a review of the developer guides from both versions shows that
the security, cashing and cryptography blocks found in version 5 have been removed in version 6.
I have not used the Enterprise Library before. But the lack of backwards compatibility alone seems to be a reason enough to avoid using Enterprise Library. That is, significant changes between versions would seem to make this library very impractical
to use.   So my question is the Enterprise Library still relevant/practical or would I be better off using other frameworks/libraries for crossing cutting issues (e.g.: FluentValidation, log4net)?

An iTunes Library Transfer Puzzle...Help!

Okay, let me try to be as clear as possible...
I keep my iTunes library on an external firewire drive.
I'm preparing to transfer all operations, including iTunes, to my new Macbook (from my old eMac)
Prepping for this move, I noticed that at some point imported music stopped going to my external drive and started going to my eMac drive.
So now my iTunes library is split between my eMac and an external firewire drive.
NOW FOR THE PUZZLE:
I want to transfer all the files from the eMac to their rightful home on the external drive.
Is there a simple way to move all these files at once (about 17 GB worth) so that the iTunes browser and my playlists will know to look for the songs on the external drive not the eMac?
Once everything is on the external drive as it should be, I plan to transfer the whole library to the iTunes browser on my Macbook.
My big fear is that the playlists will get screwed up (playlists consist of songs now on the eMac AND on the external drive).
Anyone out there able to help me sort this out?

Welcome to Discussions.
Prepping for this move, I noticed that at some

This might have happened when running iTunes with the
external drive not yet mounted/attached.
iTunes has to have a folder to store the next ripped
CD and will reset the 'iTunes Music folder location'
to the default location (on your internal disk) if it
doesn't find your 'iTunes Music' folder.
I want to transfer all the files from the eMac to
their rightful home on the external drive.
Set the 'iTunes Music folder location'
(Preferences>Advanced>General) to the folder
containing your music on the external disk.
Then choose 'Consolidate Library...' from the
Advanced menu in the menubar.
This will copy all music which is not already there,
to the external disk.
After that is done, you can delete the 'iTunes Music'
folder on the eMac.
Note: only delete the 'iTunes Music' folder inside
the 'iTunes' folder. Don't delete the library files.
Once everything is on the external drive as it
should be, I plan to transfer the whole library to
the iTunes browser on my Macbook.
Copy the 'iTunes Library' file (in
/Users/Username/Music/iTunes) to the external disk.
Attach the external disk to the MacBook.
Copy the 'iTunes Library' file from the external disk
to /Users/Username/Music/iTunes on the MacBook.
Run iTunes on the MacBook. All playlists and songs
should be there.
To transfer the music from the external to the
MacBook, read the detailed instructions in: iTunes: Moving your iTunes
Music folder
In short that would mean for your situation:
Reset the 'iTunes Music folder location'
Consolidate library
At the end, all songs and playlists will be on the
MacBook.

When you say "account," do you mean your iTunes library, because your iTunes library is what is on your computer? Your iTunes library does not have an email address. An account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID (which is an email address) and you use it as your user name to sign in to the iTunes Store, to make purchases. Changing your Apple ID will not make songs disappear from your computer's iTunes library.
If you had an Apple ID and used it to make song purchases from the iTunes Store, and then started using a different Apple ID, you should be able to re-download the songs purchased with the old Apple ID. In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store using your OLD Apple ID (and password). That may not be your current email address, but Apple uses it as your user name, so it does not matter.
On the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS. This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can re-download previous song purchases (for that Apple ID) at no cost.
NOTE: If those song purchases are from more than a few years ago, you may also need to authorize your computer to play (and sync) songs for your old Apple ID.
For songs that were not purchased from the iTunes Store, if they are also gone, you cannot get them back unless you have a backup (or they are still loaded on your old iPod).
If that's not what you mean by "changed the email address on my account," please post back with more details.

Issue with Enterprise Library's Data Access Application

I do not know if I have the correct forum for this post. I hve put it in what I believe is the most likely best forum, but please move this if there is a more germane forum for it.
I have inherited a solution (C#) which uses the reference Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data. The reference was included with the codebase I inherited, there are no missing references.
When the library is called with:

It complains with the runtime error:
[InvalidOperationException: The stored procedure 'configConfigurationKeysSelect' doesn't exist.] (I have put the full trace below)
This is true, there IS no stored procedure  'configConfigurationKeysSelect' but there is a table named  'configConfigurationKeys.'
I assumed this stored procedure is built on the fly to select from that table? Must I do something regarding  Enterprise Library's Data Access Application so that this works on the system I am running it on? (I am simply accessing the references
included with the sourced for this, nothing else). I am looking for some guidance here, and thanks in advance.

Why do you assume that a stored procedure is create on the fly? Looking at the documentation for this component, I don't see a mention of such.

Unable to install Enterprise Library 2007 on Windows 7

I need Enterprise Library 2007 for my project. When i try installing, it throws the error : Microsoft .Net 2.0 needed . I try to install microsoft .Net 2.0, then it throws the error : .Net 2.0 is already part of the operating system. I uninstalled .net
4.5.1 from my system and tried installing 2.0, yet it throws the same error. Is there any workaround for this. ( I have installed microsoft visual studio 2010 ultimate also in my system)

.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is an integral part of your Windows 7 OS. .NET 3.5 includes 2.0 and 3.0. That is why you cannot install 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5 on Windows 7 as a user.
You can check for .NET 3.5 SP1 on your system as follows:
Control Panel->Programs and Features... Turn Windows Features On and Off.
You can check the integrity of .NET 3.5 with this tool:

Run the tool with .NET 2.0 selected, then post the LAST 15 lines of the tool log here.
BTW .NET 4.0/4.5 are completely unrelated to .NET 3.5. They are separate versions. 4.0 is required by VS 2010.
You should note that "Enterprise Library 2007", presuming you mean Enterprise Library 3.1 - May 2007, is an OLD version designed for use with VS 2005 (now out of support). That may be the reason for your issue.

I timed-out waiting for advice, and contacted HP Support, who helped me get the printer back on the air. While we didn't manage to root-cause it, in the course of trying various things, the tech disabled Norton 360's firewall, which then allowed connecting to the printer, and restoring print service, which remains up after re-enabling the firewall.
The timing of the disconnection doesn't neatly corellate with any Windows updates. My own theory is that it was caused by a 360 update, but am unable to find a smoking gun, since 360 doesn't provide update history. The exact root-cause remains a mystery, but at least provides another thing for folks to try should they find themselves in similar straits.
I really appreciated your hint that a Windows update might be the root cause, and your pointing out how to review the history and back-out updates: this morning, I found that Windows had installed a batch of updates overnight, and found that no browsers worked. Using your advice, I rolled back the update, restoring browsing.
