Store access hangs

I'm sitting here with a Powerbook (mine) and an iBook (my wife's). Both with 10.3.9 and everything up-to-date. Same network, same ISP. When I log onto the iTunes store with the Powerbook, no problem. When I log onto the store with the iBook, it hangs. I just get a message saying it's connecting, but nothing ever comes up. I can go back and play songs in iTunes, but I have to force quit to close the program since it just tries to connect in perpetuity. This is a new problem. She has had no trouble connecting and purchasing in the past. Any clues?

Same in Oz. Cannot access the iTunes Store from the G4. Even though I can listen to radio streaming, whenever I attempt to go to the store, I wait minutes for the info panel to shift from "Accessing iTunes Store" with stripe update bar, to solid line which then hangs at around the 75% mark. This is via dial up line and I'm wondering if there is a time-out issue at Apple's end.
I have the same problem if I attempt access before or after I sign-in.

App Store always hangs

Hi
My app store always hangs if i try to install new software. I am able to go directly to the updates section and install from there yet if i try to search for apps to insall or follow go directly to a apps page to install it always shows the beachball.
I would like to install an application but am stuck as this is the only way it seems.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Document store access caused errors in the SAP Correction System

Hi Gurus,
I have this user who is trying to make changes to a workbook in DEV which is published to a folder with some users who are assigned to role. This user is the only user with Developer 2 role. When the user make changes and try to save the workbook to her role or favorites so that the changes are transported to BWP, the user is getting "Document store access caused errors in the SAP Correction System".
Do we have any suggestions/solutions, I would really appreciate any help on this.I would also assign full points for the most helpful answer.

I have exactly the same problem with the user who is trying to save the workbook, where he made minor change.
Any clues?

How to permit Google play store access for captive portal guest users?

Introduction : There could be occasions when we need to permit Google play store access for guest users, A common example could be a hotel environment where unauthenticated users are allowed to access the hotel website and directed to Google play store to download their Apps.
Environment : This article applies to all controller models and AOS versions 6.1.3.x and higher.
Configuration Steps :
The Google Play app store (play.google.com) is a cloud service, and the addresses it uses may change regularly. This presents a challenge to permit access to those ranges. The current solution is to permit these addresses that are known to be used by the Android Marketplace, as shown here:

Troubleshooting :
Make sure ip name-server, ip domain-name and ip domain lookup are configured on the controller.
Also you must have a PEFNG license to configure or view a destination.

Keychain Access hangs on trying to reveal passwords

When I try to get a password stored in my login keychain, using Keychain Access, either by copying or revealing the password, Keychain Access hangs unrecoverably. I tried Keychain First Aid, which didn't find any problems. Strangely, Safari seems able to still pull passwords out of the keychain. Weird. Has anybody encountered this problem? Any solutions short of starting a whole new keychain?

Hi,
I had the same problem yesterday. Browsers could get the passwords for websites, but Transmit hung as soon as I selected a favorite and Keychain Access did the same (including no errors running First Aid) as soon as I tried to reveal any of my passwords. In my case I just needed to reboot and all was fine...

How to get the US app store access for iPhone?

Hey. I moved to the US 6 months ago and I would like to connect with the US appstore with my iPhone. Even though I provide a US mastercard and a US address, I get a notification that my session has timed out with the code 5107. I need some US apps and as I live here and provide a US payment method I don't understand why I can't change it. How can I get the US app store access?

ITunes Store access causes "iTunes has Stopped working...Windows is check..

When accessing iTunes Store from iTunes, which has worked well for several years, it stops half-way through progress bar and then I get the "iTunes has Stopped working...Windows is checking..."..then " A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you..."
Probably not a related problem, but also, when synching with an iPhone that I recently reset, copying just 188 tracks in selected playlists to transfer to the iPhone, the copying stops and hangs after just a few tracks, so this is unsuccessful too.
Another iPhone worked a synch but fewer tracks to download!
I've uninstalled and re-installed iTunes 9.2 etc - doesn't fix problem. Any help please?

For any one else - this was Windows Vista on a Dell inspiron, went to Start menu-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Device Manager -> Display Adaptors -> right click on ATI Radeon (in my case) and then "Update driver software" and let windows search the web

Itunes store access causes itunes to be not responding?

This is pretty strange -- at my home all this works fine -- I select itunes store and I can navigate and select things and even run diagnostics and everything works fine. At my office (where I have network control) when I click on the itunes store, the programs instantly goes into not responding mode and can only be shut down through the task manager. The same thing happens if I run diagnostics -- instantly get the windows message that say this program has performed a fatal error and needs to close. I can restart itunes and I can play music from my library and stream it as well -- I can even go to look at my online account options -- check my balance -- all of which requires a connection, but if I click on the home icon -- the program hangs -- this used to work just fine, but I believe stopped working upon my upgrade to itunes 8.
If I could identify what itunes is doing when it tries to connect to the store and run diagnostics, perhaps I could check and see if there are any problems in the network issues.

UPDATE: I authorized the computer -- which itunes confirmed was already authorized, but now the itunes store works -- go figure.

Parental Controls in Safari 10.5.2 Stops Itune's Store Access

Well I have spent several hours trying to correct a problem that seems to have started when I started to use the built in Parental Controls of Mac OS 10.5.2 on my son's new MacBook! All other software and internet access worked, yet his Itunes could not connect to the Itunes store. I would get error mesages -50 and -4. Interestingly enough, if you clicked on an artist or album in his library, you could get in "the back door" as it would take you to that artists page within the Itunes Store. I left parental controls within Itunes were turned off.
I contacted Apple Support and together we deleted preferences, Itunes itself and reinstalled (with restarts) to no avail. We used the disk utilities and repaired etc, yet ultimately the problem remained and he directed me here to the forums after giving up.
Then I turned off Parental Controls within Safari and restarted (it might work without the restart yet I did so just in case), PRESTO!! Itunes opens to the Itunes Store.
This would imply to me that there is a bug in the Mac OS Parental Controls. Has anyone else had this problem and has Apple announced when a fix date is coming?
I bought my son's MacBook BECAUSE of the Parental Controls built in, yet Itunes sort of goes hand in hand with kids so to me, this is a big problem....

I also posted this elsewhere in Discussions, but if this helps some other folks out, then the duplication is worth it!

I also spent about 2 hours with Apple Tech Support today on this issue. The only workaround I could find was to DISABLE parental controls.

ITunes crashes on store access in Windows 8.1

The early November 2013 iTunes update 11.1.3.8 crashes at about 75% to 80% of the way through the "progress bar" when accessing the iTunes store on my Windows 8.1 64-bit computer.
I have tried to repair and then reinstall both iTunes and iCloud, but all that accomplishes is the need to enter my Apple ID and password, which appear to be accepted (since the attempt to access the store is started).

Your problem is not the same issue I was having, but maybe it would be fixed by the same thing I did.
1. Browse to "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming" in Windows Explorer.
2. Rename the "Apple Computer" folder to "Apple Computer-old".
3. Start iTunes
4. Close iTunes
5. Copy the file "iTunesPrefs.xml" from "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer-old\iTunes"
6. Paste the old "iTunesPrefs.xml" into the new "Apple Computer\iTunes" folder iTunes just created (not the one you renamed) under "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer-old\iTunes"
7. Overwrite the new iTunesPrefs.xml with your old copy of the file.
If you don't care about losing your iTunes preferences then you can just do step 2. You can always go back and grab things from the old folder later if you realize you wanted to have your EQ settings, individual track gains, etc...

Mac store access after OS X upgrade

I have lost access to the mac store after OS X upgrade, an error pops asking me to check compatibility. Are there any known solutions?
During the upgrade iTunes also crashed but I managed to solve that problem by adding back the iTunes folder after iTunes restarted

I don't have Mountain Lion so I'm not thoroughly acquainted with it but It may be worth your while to download and apply the combo update.

Useful if things go a little awry. Doesn't matter if you have previously applied it, it has been known to correct the odd minor corruption and may put App Store back into your system.

Iphone 3G - itunes store access due to incorrect Apple ID- Need to reset

Thank you in advance for any help that can be provided.
I have my own Apple ID and the associated password and it works as it should when accessing the itunes store from my laptop. However, I noticed that on my new Iphone 3G when I go to sign in to the itunes store it is showing my Apple ID as someone else, thus it won't accept my password.
Ever heard of this? Is there an easy way for me to delete this on my Iphone and put my Apple ID? As I noted, there is no trouble with this via my laptop.

After Mountain-Lion-Install no App Store Access

After having installed Mountain Lion I can't access the App Store anymore. It speaks of an inexistant internet connection, altough I am able to surf with Safari. Some pages like outlook.com and the iTunes store are defectively loaded (layout is not shown correctly). Also Safari has certificate problems (but I suppose this is due to missing updates). May there be a connection to an older problem I have? From time to time I have to restart the wifi connection because of "having passed the time limit".
I have already tried to fix the problem by repairing the permissions and resetting Safari and by changing DNS-Server to 8.8.4.4. and 8.8.8.8.

App Store Access with Mountain Lion - Administrator only?

Hi All:
After installing ML, I noticed that I only have access to the app store when logged into the Administrator account. When logged in through any other account, my app store has the message "Cannot Connect to the App store". My internet connection is fine.
Has this always been the case where administrators can only access the app store?

I've seen this too. Sort of. On my MBPro I was able to access the App Store with my user account to install updates after upgrading to ML. On my iMac, it has been hit and miss, mostly miss. The day I upgraded to ML I was able to install updates but it took several tries. I attributed it to the servers being loaded down with the release of ML. However, I've not been able to access the store for three days now for one last install. After reading your post I tried my admin account and it worked. This doesn't answer your question but thanks for helping me out.

Thanks again for the info. I just came to implement it.
I should have mentioned... I'm in a shared-desktop environment, using WorkGroup Manager to control access and settings.
On my admin machine I set and locked itms access. I added ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes and /Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.secure to WGM.
This has pevented the users from accessing iTunes music store, but they can change the iTunes preferences to allow access. I guess it's because of the user ID in /Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.secure.
So, do you know how I can get the correct user value in /Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.secure for each user? is there an 'everybody' value I can use? And am I right to think I do need to push this file out with ARD, rather than adding it to WGM?
