  • Aperture 2 install - serial number problem

    Disclaimer: I'm pretty good on a pc. Absolutely terrible on Mac, never had so many problems with tech :/
    So...I have my serial number from the back of the Aperture 2 "Installing your software" booklet. Checked that I'm entering "I's" not "1's." Got dashed between the sequences. Capslock on etc. Searched forum, quite a few posts on serial number problems. None matched.
    Enter serial number. Second window pops up stating I've entered an upgrade serial number (I only have the expired trial version of Aperture installed), and requesting my "serial number."
    I'm lost now. Checked my original docs, there's nothing on Aperture trial version. Fired up the trial and I see what looks like a license key (to Apple, not me) on the launch screen. That's not accepted by Aperture 2.
    Any thoughts on this appreciated.

    M_Austin wrote:
    Thanks, think you solved this Wish the label said something like that, the box only says Aperture 2, not upgrade license. So I'm guessing I have to pay $199, and keep this $99 package to upgrade it? I hope not. I'll ask at the store.
    There is a tiny label on the bottom edge of the box. Mine says "Aperture 2.0 Retail". The tiny label on my box for Final Cut Express 4 says "Final Cut Express 4.0 UPG". Does yours not say "UPG" on that little label? If not, you should be able to return it for the full version (plus pay the difference, of course). If it does say "UPG" you might be out of luck as most open software can't be returned.

  • Problems configuring Platform Domain with MS Sql Server

    Hi,
    We are having problems configuring a Platform Domain with MS Sql Server 2000.
    We are using Weblogic version 7.0.0.2. These are the steps we followed
    1.We manually created a database called TestDB and created a user account called
    "system", pwd ==>> "weblogic" in SQL server and assigned him as the DB owner for
    the TestDB created.
    2. Changed dbsettings_properties files (Commented pointbase entries and uncommented
    SQL Server entries. I gave the connection parameter as connection=jdbc:weblogic:mssqlserver4:localhost:1433
    in this file.
    3. Modified Config.xml and changed properties for DataSyncPool, WLIPool, CommercePool,WLIPool
    and modified the RDBMS realm properties to point to the database.
    4. ran the create_db script and it seemed to have run fine looking at the log
    file.
    5. I then tried to start the BEA Server instance and I get the following error.
    I am also attaching the config.xml file for reference.
    Appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

  • Can´t write serial number to configure program.

    When trying to write the serial number to configure the utility pci-gpib, the window that should drop down doesn´t do that. It remains gray colored, the button to make it drop down just doesn´t work.

    Mr. Cole,
    (and anybody willing to help)
    I appreciate your comment.
    This is what the wizard tells us when trying to Fix the problem:
    Unknown Hardware Error:
    An unknown GPIB hardware error has been encountered. Several of the possible causes for this problem are listed below:
    - Your GPIB interface is incorrectly configured in the NI-488.2 Configuration utility.
    Solution: Please click on the "Configure Software" button to verify that the GPIB interface is correctly configured.
    - The NI-488.2 driver for your GPIB interface failed to load correctly due to a resource conflict.
    Solution: Please click on the "Resource Conflict" button for help on resolving resource conflicts under Windows NT. Once you have selected conflict-free resources, you can use the "Configure Software" button to assign those resources to your GPIB interface.
    - Your GPIB interface is incorrectly configured or installed.
    Solution: Please verify that your GPIB interface is correctly configured and installed. For GPIB hardware configuration and installation instructions, please refer to the "GPIB Hardware Guide" which is installed with the NI-488.2 Software and can be viewed using the "View Documentation" option on the NI-488.2 Software CD autorun utility or through the online help for Measurement & Automation Explorer.
    - If your GPIB interface appears to be configured and installed correctly but you still encounter problems, try restarting your computer and rerunning the NI-488.2 Troubleshooting Wizard. If problems persist, contact National Instruments for more help.
    I have tried to follow the paths described above. Unfortunately for most of them I need to write the serial number (now I know I dont have to, it should pick it on its own). I guess the problem is that it doesnt recognize the interface as installed.
    What should I do? Erase it, and re-install it?
    Is there anything else prior to this extreme measure?
    Thank you.

    Is there anything that I'm missing??
    Thanks

    Basically, I work for a school district and a portion of a web application that our teachers use runs on Java.  This application will most of the time stop working with new updates of Java until they can patch it, which could take weeks or months.  We have our systems locked down so users cannot update Java, but in the newer versions of Java they have been getting the warning messages about Java being out of date.  Most of our users are not very tech savvy so this message confused them and caused a huge influx of help desk calls.  We want to prevent that message from ever displaying.  I was hoping that if I use deployment.properties, it would do these two things (or at least #2):
    Apply those settings when Java is installed
    Apply those settings when the web application is launched
    It's possible that it applies those settings when Java is installed, but the problem is that those settings are per user and not system-wide.  It is definitely not applying the settings when the web application is launched because users are instantly getting the warning messages even with deployment.properties and deployment.config sitting C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment.  Again, the only time deployment.properties settings get applied is if I open the "Configure Java" applet in Control Panel.
    We have multiple users logging on to the same computer every day and it's almost never the same users.  We need these settings to apply for every user who has logged into the computer, who is currently logged into the computer, or who will ever log onto the computer in the future.  If these settings can be made system-wide that would be fantastic, but in all my testing and reading, all I ever see happen is deployment.properties settings get written to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AppDataLow\Software\JavaSoft\DeploymentProperties.  Is there any way to get these settings system-wide and not per user?

  • Displaying decimal number

    Dear All;
    I just want to get a decimal number (i.e. 2.5), i tried the
    Math functions, it didn't solved the problem.
    Is there another function which returns decimals.?
    Thank you;

    DEar Ned;
    I am getting the pixels of a scale then converting them into
    a pH range (0-14). so, i want the pH reading upto one decimal as
    follows:
    var mcSlider:MovieClip;
    mcSlider.onMouseMove = function():Void {
    //var xSlider:Number = this._y;
    var ySlider:Number = this._y - 1 * 550;
    var pH:Number=14*(-ySlider/550);
    this.startDrag(true,110,550,110,0);
    txtPh.text=pH;
    txtPh._y=+ySlider - 22.5 + 550;
    mcSlider.onRelease=onReleaseOutside= function():Void {
    this.stopDrag();
    };

  • Is the music store server having problems?

    Is the music store server having problems, because for the past two or three days I have been trying to connect to it and it won't let me. It says unknown error-9812 and to check my network connection. I have road runner and my connection is perfectly fine. The only thing I have installed lately is a 2.0 USB port for my iPod. I don't believe that it had any firewalls, so I have no clue how to fix my problem.
    I have also combed this website for some kind of 1-800 number but have yet to find one. Does anyone know of a number to call for help at apple or something?

    Yes I have a totally different connection then you do and I can access the music store but can not purchase music? Every time I click BUY to buy a song it says the music store is having problems and the server can not be found? I have no idea what the problem is here. I have purchased songs with in the last week but now I can't purchase any more?

  • Problems configuring HP Laserjet M1213nf MFP with Mac via AirPrint

    Hello,
    I have a HP Laserjet M1213nf MFP printer, connected to a Dlink DSL-2730U ADSL router. I am having problems configuring the printer with my Macbook running OSX Yosemite. I can see the printers name in nearby printers but when I try to add the printer, the mac gives me an error saying, "unable to communicate with the printer at this time". The network settings on the printer are configure for iPv4 and iPv6 addresses.
    Previously, I had the ADSL DSL-2750U model router, and the printer was connected fine. I did not face any issues then. I have been facing problems since I changed my router so the problem should be in the router. I have the IP for the printer reserved in the DHCP reservation list on the router settings using the mac address of the printer.
    Can someone please help me out here? Is there something I am probably missing.
    Rgds
    ~n~

    I talked to the DLink Support. They asked me to disable an option called "MultiAP Isolation" and Voila, the printer is working fine. I can add it to all my devices on the wireless network. I looked up google. Apparently, this isolation feature present in some routers, prevent wifi clients to interact with other devices connected to the wired network and also with each other. Thats why only my desktop which was also connected wired was only able to access the printer and not the laptops connected wirelessly.

    Sirs,
    I purchased my iPad in your London store on 20th May 2012, serial no. DM*******J8T. I have been purchasing apps from the London store, without any problems. Last week, however, receiving a prompt that updates were available, I logged on hoping to update, which resulted in the following window:
    >Account not in this Store.
    Your account is not valid for use in the US Store.
    You must switch to the UK Store before purchasing.<
    I have done nothing to facilitate this change in stores and have  no way of knowing how to switch back to the UK store.
    This is a recent development, I have not had any problems connecting to the UK store before, in fact it happened automatically. Can the fact that I am not actually in the UK now but spend most of my time in Indonesia? This has not effected my purchases from the UK store before, however.
    Please help.
    Best regards,
    Maarten Timmer

  • I can't use a decimal number in a update routine

    Hi,
    I want to use a decimal number in a udate routine (in a updating rule). I've a code similar to this:
    IF COMM_STRUCTURE-/BIC/ZSATIAUX1 LT 1,5.
      RESULT = 'GOOD'.
    And when I save the routine I get the following error:
    E:Comma without preceding colon (after IF ?).
    The COMM_STRUCTURE-/BIC/ZSATIAUX1 field is numeric field with three decimal positions.
    Can anybody tell me why I can't use decimals in my routine?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi,
    Try following code:
    Data: Val type COMM_STRUCTURE-/BIC/ZSATIAUX1 .
    val = 1.5.
    IF COMM_STRUCTURE-/BIC/ZSATIAUX1 LT val.
    RESULT = 'GOOD'.
    endif.

  • Comma or point in decimal number

    Hi,
    I wonder how to handle decimal number input from jsp page with comma or point. Is there a way to take care of this automatic so a comma get parsed to a point or vice versa.
    Thanks in advance.

    I don't know if it will be a comma or a dot that is inputed. My keyboard uses a comma on the numeric pad but if i change it to a US keyboard it will use dot instead so I can't tell what a user will input. And if I understand everything when java calculates a double it has to be with a dot, or am I completly wrong.
    So with this in mind i decided to replace all dots with a comma and then parse it to a double with NumberFormat and do my calculation and then format it with NumberFormat again. This works fine and gives me a nice output if no one tries to input more than one point or comma.
    I can't think of another way to do it so if this is completly wrong so please point me in the right direction.

    This question is not clear at all.
    "Fractional decimal" is not a data type, but a way of formatting in readable form using numeric characters and a decimal separator.
    Same to "hex number", but only for integers.
    What do you mean by "convert"? Do you want to keep the value the same or retain the bit pattern of the numeric data type?
    Hexadecimal is for integers. Are you talking about fixed point?
    We clearly need significantly more information. What are the input and output data types? What are you actually trying to do?
    Do you have an example input and corresponding output?

  • An OS-Intergrated place to store per-user application configuration files.

    A Chairde,
    I'm developing an application that could be deployed on multiple platforms. I'm looking for a location to store per-user configuration files in a OS-integrated way.
    I use a utility class to determine the OS of the users machine. I know from experience that Windows NT5+ likes to store per-user settings/configurations in the %APPDATA% path (which is usually C:\Users\<username>\Appdata\Roaming\<vendor>\<software> etc.) I'm using a call to the environment labels to determine it's location.
    I'm a linux user myself, so I'm aware that most UNIX based Operating Systems like to store personal configurations in hidden folders in the user's home directory (ex /home/<username>/.<application> etc.), Obviously, I'm using a call to the system property user.home to determine that location.
    My Question is in relation to Mac OS and Mac OS X, where would it be a safe location to store per-user configurations? I know OS X is BSD/UNIX based so is it safe to assume to store them as a hidden subfolder of the user.home directory? What about Mac OS classic? Where are per-user settings stored, or is it like Windows 9x and NT4 and lacks proper multi-user setups (although NT4 is somewhat more prepared then 9x) ?
    It would be much appreciated if anybody has any ideas.

    PS. I'm not using Javas Property files etc. I've rolled my own exchangeable format for storing key,value pairs.

    I've used databases in the past to store local files but clients have sometimes run into trouble when the database daemon goes down or doesnt start-up normally because of a "improper" shutdown etc.
    In my own implementation of "Settings Files" i have serialized hashtables marked with appropriate metadata stored to the users "application data", a backup or original copy of those settings in the common directory shared by my application framework and then in a networked enviroment, the Settings can be hosted on a database server, so the user can travel between client machines and keep their settings (and files) with them.
    I have, with a bit of googling, come across the most obvious page i should have looked at in regards to Apple Mac OS X
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/MacOSX/Conceptual/BPFileSystem/Articles/WhereToPutFiles.html
    According to Apple's guidlines, the most suitable place to store User configuration files is in the ~/Library/Application Support/<Application Name> directory.
    and for System-wide configuration files, /Library/Application Support/<Application Name> rather then storing them with the application in the /Applications directory.
