Tips for downloading apps from the App Store.
-  Temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
-  Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.
-  Third party download managers are not compatible with the App Store.

    Hi,
    I gifted my Mom a N8, primarily due to the camera and her familiarity with Symbian. I have had a hell of a time setting it up thus far. If anyone could assist, I would be grateful...
    Main issue is that all attempts at downloading games/apps via the onboard "Store" app end up failing. Click on download, shows "downloading" briefly but almost immediately shows an error that download has failed. This happens with ALL apps in the Store.
    Has anyone experienced this and been able to resolve?

     Have you tried clearing the browsers cache? Open the default browser tap Menu > Settings > Privacy > Clear privacy data > All.
     Also, you can uninstall the Store client from the application manager and re-install the Store QML client rather than installing it over the top of the existing Store client.

    Hi out there!
    Three days ago, i found an chemistry app (Flat mol) in the app store. I bought it, but the download fialed. I got the message that I have to check my basked to restart the download, I have been trying that now during the last days. Allways deleting the unfinished file, and saying yes "install" in the app store. The file I was deleting didn't contain any data, size 0kb.
    Trying out, if something is wrong with that particular app, I tryed to get another app (inbox classic). It shows the same problem.

Ich bekam die Mitteilung, dass ich meine Einkäufe checken soll um den download zu wiederholen. Habe ich gemacht, der download schlägt jedes mal auf neue fehl. Ich habe auch jedes mal die angefangene Datei aus dem Programmeordner gelöscht, da sie keine Daten enthielt.
    Um herauszufinden, ob gerade mit dieser app etwas verkehrt ist, habe ich versucht, eine weitere app zu installieren (inbox classic) aber hier tritt das geleiche Problem auf.

  • ITunes store download fail

    I recently bought a few albums from the iTunes store but randomly 3 of the songs did not properly download and they can't be put onto my iPod as it says they cannot be converted.  Playing them on the laptop, they stop halfway through.  I don't know how to report this and get a solution or a refund, can anyone help?

    This turned out to be an issue with Cablevision, my ISP.

    Can't down load Purchased Software from Apple App Store on Mac BookPro running Mavericks.
    Asked to sign in with Apple ID, do so successfully, but when download starts, bet message: Error 1006 please try later.
    I have tried a couple solutions to clear cache, but did not have them.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Starbucks wifi free music iTunes Store download fails

    The Starbucks wifi home page offers free weekly music downloads through the iTunes store. I click on the 'free' icon and iTunes opens up, telling me it's ready to download the music. It then offers the familiar iTunes Store login (username and password). But, when I enter my password to download the song (and I know I am using the correct password) the download does not begin. The iTunes Store login widget appears again - I am  asked to re-enter my password. No matter how many times I type in my known, correct password, the cycle continues (rejection of my password and request to reenter it).
    This has been happening (or, *not* happening) for some time now. I've reset my password and that did not fix the problem. I also 'authorized' my laptop and that did not solve the problem.
    I'm stuck. I've sent an email to Starbucks technical help and they were unable to offer any constructive, illuminating answers for their end of this, but did say I should contact Apple for support.
    Might someone know how to solve this?

    thanks for the help. I followed your advice, but the song is not listed in the purchased history. If i try to purchase the song again, itunes informs me that I have already purchased the song but have not downloaded it. Issue still not resolved

  • All App Store downloads repeatedly failing after upgrade to 10.8

    Every time I attempt to download a new app or update a currently installed app on my retina macbook pro the downloads fail in one of two ways.
    1) The download skips from Zero KB to Installed and then back to Zero KB in a un-ending loop. 
    2) One of my downloads reaches 10.25MB and then goes back to Zero KB and retries to download it 2-3 times until the App Store informs me an error has occured. 
    I've deleted the downloads from finder (both from the applications folder and from "private/var/folders/... /C/com.apple.appstore/-random number-/") , canceled the downloads in the app store, restarted the app store, restarted the macbook and several combinations of these troubleshooting options.
    Can anyone help me resolve this problem?  The nearest genius bar is quite far from where I live.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The crashes are due to font issues of some kind:

    Does either application work from a different user account? You can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+|-\] to add/remove extra accounts.
    If they do work fine in the other account, look in /Users/YourUsualUsername/Library/Fonts/ and remove any fonts you have added recently.
    Failing that try FontBook to resolve any duplicate fonts and use FontFinagler (Google for it) to remove potentially corrupt font caches.

    If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

  • App Store - Downloads Keep Failing

    Hia,
    I would reallly like some help, I have bought several aps on the Nokia Store site, but when I go to download them, I get download failed. I can use my WAP/GPRS O2 connection or Wireless LAN and although both connections are working fine the download fails every single time!
    Whether free or bought, every download fails. I can't use the email link or sms link as that just strats OVI store. I have tried the Nokia software suite, but most of items I have bought cannot be downloaded via this, they have t be downloaded via phone!
    ANY help would be so much appeciated, I love my N97 Mini and will buy another when this one bites the dust, best phone I have ever owned! This problem is however a pain!

  • Can't download failed purchases

    Several downloads failed this morning after I upgraded to iTunes 8.2.
    I cannot persuade these files to be downloaded now - if I go into Store>Check for Available Downloads, I get the error "Unable to check for available downloads - the iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later". However, the Store is generally accessible and I have purchased and downloaded other items since the failure.
    The other approach I have tried is via my Account Information which shows that 17 downloads are available - but clicking the "Download Now" button does nothing.
    This has been the case for about 7 hours now.

    Thank goodness it isn't just me. I tried to buy Patrick Wolf's new album on Sunday morning, iTunes happily took my money but wouldn't download it. Every time I click on "check for available downloads" (of which I'm told I have the full sixteen tracks waiting) I just get "Unable to check for downloads, the iTunes store is temporarily unavailable, please try again later". It's been over two days now and no change. I too bought something after the event to test it and it downloaded fine so what's the problem? iTunes support just fobbed me off with an email suggesting I turn my firewall off. I've done everything suggested and it isn't working. I've now asked for a refund so I can buy it somewhere else.
