Store Sent Messages from Spiceworks

Hi All,
Basically, whenever any of us sends the end user a message via spiceworks, I want a copy of that message to get stored in the 'Sent Items' folder that is in the exchange account that spiceworks is set up to use.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
James

Maybe you'll get a better answer, but my understanding is that the "sync" that iTunes provides for mail ONLY syncs. the account related information (user name password, servers to use ...)
It does not sync. the actual MAIL.
It does with IMAP and Exchange accounts. Thats how it works - all the content.
With most POP3 accounts the systems are designed to leave incomming mail available on the server even after it has been downloaded to a "client".
Erm, no. POP is designed to download from a server directly to a single email client on one machine, but it can leave the email on a server - but only in a single folder.
Thus, you download it to the iPhone and again to Outlook and the In-boxes look the same.
Yes it does, but thats IMAP functionality - with POP you can leave it in the server, but all the copies can become unsynchronised from each other. With IMAP, whatever you do on one client, appears on another. If one client as you describe it, replies, the others that have downloaded it do not get the reply message, but they will get the response.
However mail sent from one client or the other (Outlook / iPhone) are NOT automatically replicated to the other client, and there is no easy way to do this that I am aware of...
There is - use an IMAP client - each client gets all emails.
You can "CC" yourself on the notes which will send a copy to your inbox and you can then file it on the other client, but this is less than ideal.
A lot less and unnecessary
IMAP is supposed to fix these short comings, but I have not messed around with it.......

  • Unable to store sent message on Yahoo server

When I send an email from Mail ( Lion OS Mail) I am unable to store the sent message on the Yahoo server.
I have set up my Yahoo email account as a POP account & I do not see the option of “ Store sent message on the server” as in iCloud email.
The iCloud email is set up as IMAP.
Any help to solve this problem is appreciated

Right with POP Sent emails only show on your local computer unless you are using IMAP and even then it is a setting in the mail program and the IMAP server to store all sent emails on the server. With Gmail they are included in the All Mail folder. But Yahoo is different and only if you have a paid Yahoo account do you have access to their IMAP system.
No way to do that with POP.

  • Can't retrieve sent messages from my Desktop Mail application

    Hi,
Whenever I use a computer away from home to send email, I always click the option to save the sent message in the sent folder. Then, when I get home, I used to retreive those messages from the iDisk icon on my Mail, and then move that message to my sent folder on my Mail, in my desktop at home.
But now, I don't know why, when I drag them to the sent folder in my desktop, these messages just disappear. There is NO way I can move them to my sent folder on my desktop. I tried several things, but I admit I am not good at all with computers, so here I am ... It's funny because I tried to drag those sent messages to my Inbox folder and it worked, but I want to move them to my sent folder, as I used to do.
    Thanks for your help!

ok lets see if my solution fits my undertsanding of your problem.
A .Mac account is essentially an IMAP account. This means that Mailboxes and the Mail in them is replicated identically on the Server every time you synchronize (either manually or in Preferences). Mail is deleted when you do it manually, or automatically - again as part of Preferences. Mail you send through the browser should be replicated on your desktop Mail.app next time you synchronize.
If you create a Mailbox under your user account, this Mailbox is replicated on the server. If however you create an Mailbox that is "On my Mac", and move mail to it, you are effectively moving it off the server and onto your desktop, which may explain why it is disappearing.
Realistically with a .Mac account you should not have to drag Sent Items anywhere.
Because it is a .Mac account, check these things.
    In Mail.app on your desktop:
    1) Preferences/Accounts/.Mac Account/Mailbox Behaviors. Check "Store Sent Messages on the Server and then an option for deleting them. This will ensure Sent Messages remain on the server.
    2) Preferences/Accounts/.Mac Account/Advanced. Check Automatically Synchronize Changed Mailboxes if you want the Server to be updated immediately. Leave it blank and mail will be updated when you log on and off and if you Synchronize manually.
    Through .Mac
    1) Log onto .Mac through the browser - to Mail. Go to Preferences/Composing and ensure that "Save sent messages to" - (Sent Messages) is checked. Save your settings.
Send one test mail using Mail.app and then one through the browser. Your sent mail should appear in the Sent Mail folders on both Mail.app and the server, and you should not have to drag sent mail from or to anywhere.

  • With an IMAP account, if "Store sent messages on the server" is checked does Mail only store mail on the server?

With an IMAP account, if "Store sent messages on the server" is checked (in Mailbox behaviors) does Mail only store sent mail on the server?
So should it not be checked if you want Mail to store sent mail on the server and the computer?
    Thank you.
    iHope

    Hi Norm G,
Thanks for your comments and the link to further information.
With it checked you will get both on the server and the Mac.
I have it checked, yet when I pause the curser over Sent mailbox the tooltip says "Contents stored on server. Name on server: Sent Messages". Does this mean stored only on the server or also on the server?
    What does your tooltip say?
At the moment sent emails only appear in that Sent mailbox. If Mail also stores them on the Mac should they also appear in another Sent folder "On My Mac"?
    Thanks for your help.

An alternative (for me) would be to *always and automatically* send a bcc to a specifc address of all my sent messages.
I cannot locate this option in the documentation.
    Does it exist?.
Yes, in your BIS account setup for that email address. Edit the setup and you will see at the bottom a checkbox to automatically BCC messages.
Then, on your Outlook, set a filter for your incoming messages from yourself to be re-directed to your sent folder.

  • Sent messages from secondary account are not saved in Outlook 2011 for Mac

We are using a shared email account added in Outlook 2011 for Mac.  It's not the default account but we send from it often.
Whenever sending from this secondary mailbox, the message is not saved in sent items folder under the secondary mailbox or the default mailbox.  There seems to be no record of the sent item anywhere.
I verified the message is sent and received.
All microsoft updates have been applied and we are using Exchange 2010.

    Hello,
Please first log into OWA and check if the email are saved in the Sent Items folder.
We can tick the option "Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder" in Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 to save a copy of sent message, please check if you get such option in Outlook for Mac.
In addition, in Outlook for Windows, we can change a registry key to force Outlook to save sent emails in the default or secondary mailbox, but I'm not sure if Outlook 2011 has such trick. See:

  • Getting old 'Sent" messages from server onto my Mac

I am using Mail 2.1.3 on a Mac Mini with OSX 10.4.11.
I have used web mail (earthlink) exclusively for a number of years and now want to switch to a new email provider. I would also like to start using Apple Mail. I need to preserve my old send messages as well as my old inbox messages.
In doing some testing, I can get old inbox messages to come down from the server into Mail on the Mac. However I have no idea how to get the old 'Sent" messages down. Can't find anything about it in Help or elsewhere.
I'm logging into server mail via POP.
Can anyone help put me on the right path? Thanks.

Never mind, I figured it out for myself.
I contacted earthlink and they were useless, as usual. They do not support IMAP and they insisted it was "impossible" to export messages from the sent box or archive them in any way. When I pushed back on that, they told me one way would be to go into each message and forward it to myself (thus having it appear in my inbox.) With thousands of messages, that was not going to happen.
So I poked around and realized that right on the menu is an option to move messages from one box to another. I mass selected all the messages in my sent box and moved them to my inbox, and they all came down to my Mac. Easy as could be.
The messages are now co-mingled all in the inbox, (but still in order by date) but that's okay, because I just need to archive them.
FYI for anyone else having this problem, I am switching to gmail, and I also found out that gmail has an option for pulling all your old messages into their mail service, with many common email providers supported. Whether this pulls in the sent messages or just the inbox, I don't know. But gmail supports IMAP, so if you can get them over there, you should then be able to get them down to your Mac/PC. So that could be another option.

  • Unable to view sent message from one of my email accounts

I have two email addresses from my email server. On one of the accounts, I am unable to view the text of the messages in the sent mailbox and I get the following message:
The message from (my email address is shown here) concerning “Insurance” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it.
The server says there is nothing in my sent box on the server to download. I have selected the choice in the preferences area that says to delete messages from the server "right away" when they are downloaded.

    If running Tiger, see:

If running 10.3.9, as your Profile says, then you likely have an "Overstuffed" Sent mailbox. See the Topic at the following link, and the topic linked from within it:

  • How to keep sent messages from my BB on a BIS account

    HI,
I use my hotmail and cogeco email a lot and I want to keep a record of my sent msg's from my BB.  The messages I sent today from my BB are not stored in the sent folder on the BB or on line at the mail service.
How do I ensure all sent messages are saved to a folder, either on my BB of on the host service?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

POP email does not sync to the email server.
Sent email messages will save to the BlackBerry.
On your BlackBerry, open your Messages folder.
    Press the Menu key.
    Click on Options
Click on Message Display and Actions.
-- do you have "Hide Sent Messages" checked?

  • Sent Messages from iPad Appear as Posted Message

    Hi All:
We have a single user (out of about 50 Mobility users) who is having an issue with sending messages from her iPad2. Whenever she sends or replies to an e-mail from the iPad2, the message is never sent to the receipient(s). Instead, a blank "posted message" appears in her inbox (both on the iPad and in her Groupwise inbox) originating from herself. Nothing appears in sent items on her Groupwise client - the only indication that anything was sent is the blank posted message that appears in her inbox. If she sends a message from the Groupwise client, the message sends perfectly. Contacts, calendars, and the inbox are synced to the iPad perfectly; it's just replying/sending that generates this posted message in her inbox.
We've tried removing the user from GWMobility and re-adding, running "Analyze/Fix Databases" from ConsoleOne on the user, and running a structural rebuild, but still have the same issue. We've also tried another iPad and were met with the same results.

I apologize if this was posted in the wrong area. I just found the DS: Mobility Pack forums and will repost there.

  • Sent messages from desktop not showing up on BB Curve

I have a small business account through register.com - when I send e-mail from my desktop there is no proof/copy of that on my device.
Is there a way to have both my computer (MAC) and BB (curve) completely in sync with each other?
Sometime I like to review sent e-mail and currently I can't do that unless the mail itself was sent from my BB.
Any help and/or pointers would be much appreciated.
    Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Unless you are a BES server based phone, I don't know of any sync programs (Google, Yahoo etc.) that will reconcile
sent messages to the device and vice versa. You could BCC yourself, and filter it at the PC so the copy there goes to the sent or trash folder, and would only appear at the device.

  • Old sent messages from 2 years ago are missing!

I've been using Apple Mail for years, never reallyneeded to go back for any reason. But I'm now searching for a message I sent back 2 years ago. Although it seems that my sent items only go back to just over a year! I always assumed that would remain there until I files them. Does anyone know how I can retrieve my old sent messages?

I would try the Rebuild command. Your mail database may have been messed up.

  • Is there a way to sync old sent messages from an online server into Mail?

When I got my new Mac, I already had several years of sent messages stored on an online server (Gmail). Is there any way to get these messages into the Sent mailbox in Mail?

You can set up your Gmail account in Mail as an IMAP account. Once done, you can view them in Mail or copy them to any folder on your Mac.

  • Sent message from Mac Mail work email shows my personal gmail account as Mail to: and account summary shows outgoing mail server as smtp.google while incoming shows imap.google

sent email from work through Mac Mail shows to the sender Mail to: (personal gmail). Account summary shows smtp.google on outgoing server and imap.google on incoming

Is there a way to add this automatically?
For a semi-permanent change, the Sending Server is named as "OutGoing Mail Server SMTP" on the Preference pane for each Mail Account.
To change its specifics, move the mouse cursor over it and choose "Edit SMTP Server List" from the drop-down Menu. Then choose the SMTP Server you wish to inspect/change and its information will be shown. If using similar ones for two different email accounts, change the description field, e.g., change "gmail" to "gmail (work)".

  • Restore 'Sent Messages' from deleted POP account

I deleted an old POP account, not realizing all my Sent Messages would be deleted as well. These sent messages were of great value. I'm not using Time Machine (will do now!).

I did too, I bought Boomerang Dada Revovery for OSX, but I still cannot find my old POP account. Any hints?
