Store .tiff documents in SAP

Hi experts :
Not sure if this is the correct forum to post my question, my apologuizes if not.
For a new SAP installation, my requirement is to store .tiff documents (invoices) from an old system and link them with the corresponding invoice uploaded in SAP.
The only information I got is that .tiff docs will be uploaded into a filesystem (but not sure where this filesystem will be:SAP server or another server).
I do not have information nor requirement about this, but I suppose users would like to display .tiff from t-code FB03 using display attachment list option (the button).
My question is: if we store the .tiff documents in SAP filesystem (I mean t-code AL11), will be able to display them from FB02 / FB03 using display attachment list option?. If answer is yes, how can we do?.
Thanks in advance for the answers.
Regards,
Carlos.

Hi there,
In a Finance document there is an icon on the top left handside, just under the green tick called services for objects
Click Create, and then create attachment, and then you can link an attachment to an accounting document.

  • Can Archive Link be used to store the docs from SAP R/3 to KM Repository

    Hi All,
Could you please advice whether archive link can be used to store documents from SAP R/3 enviroment to KM Repository. I have verified the storage types that archive link can support (Like HTTP Content Server) . But i couldn't see any storage type out there which is compatible with KM Content storage.
If it is not possible, Could you please advice is there any way to store the documents from SAP R/3 environment to KM Repository.
    Thanks,
    Sudheer.

    Hi Vivek,
until now I haven't found a solution in detail, but some ways to verify the connection.
I wrote about a tool that export the pdf to the filesystem, this wont be able at this time, it must developed, because a function will place the data in a sap table and from this point there we can export it on the filesystem after we've develop some abap code.
I thought that was already available, but that what i found was the Report RSTXPDFT4 in the sap system, with this you can transfer spool to pdf and store the file in dialog on a filesystem, there will webdav be able to use, but it must be batch.
So I search to a new way, I try to set the repository for rooms from persitence from db to fsdb, this works, but with our patch sp9 there are some errors, so i must patch it to sp 15/16 first.
I'm able to make the netshare on windows, so the repository is reachable with an unc Path. If the report, that must be written can access such unc path (normaly thats works in the same domain) we can store the Files in the room workspace document folder an the portal synch job can make the rest. >IN the sap system there must be a table to map the rooms to the responsable folder.
This way should be work, but it isn't fine for productive, I heard from a way to transfer the data with  java. In CRm System there should be a fnction from sap CRM_ISA_ORDER_CONVERT_TO_PDF and the isa use the java-stream to transform it in pdf, but this is nothing for me, that must be checked from a java developer, a colleague of my will check this.

  • Storing Word Documents on SAP

What is the best method to store Word documents on SAP?  I have a requirement for developers to create unit test scripts and then load them into SAP to enable them to be referenced by other programs.  They will have to be stored within a certain hierarchy as well like a directory structure.
    Any help much appreciated!

    Cheers Serdar
I have been looking at the BDS as this will be the most likely place for storage.  I was also having a look at SE61 - Dcoumentation as you can also store chapters as word documents and then retrieve them using functions from the DSYS group.

  • What is this "Store business document" option in SAP/PO

    Hi
please let me know what is this "Store business document" option in PO -> services for object -> Create -> Store business document?
    Thanks
    Raju

    Hi Raju
Create Business Object is used to Attaching a PC Document to an Object and Storing, and you can append documents, which have a connection to an object, from your PC to the object and at the same time store it in an optical archive.
    Prerequisites
This function is only then active if an optical archive is connected to the SAP System. The document type (format template, for example FIINVOICE) and document class (for example DOC or FAX) of the document that you want to store must be known.
    Procedure
In the Toolbox of the object services, choose .
    Choose Store business document.
Expand the node of the document class that corresponds to your document.
Choose the document type that corresponds with your document by double-clicking on it.
Enter the path and file name of your document in the following dialog box.
Alternatively, you can use the value help to call a window with the directory structure of your PC,         in which you can call the directory and select the document by double-clicking.
    Choose .
    Result
The PC document is stored in the optical archive. You and other users can call it by using the Attachment List of the object.

  • Store documents for SAP installations in Germany

    Hi All,
One of our clients has a single instance of SAP in Germany. It seems that according to the German VAT law we are NOT allowed to electronically store any documents such as invoices or credit notes on servers outside the European Union.
I wanted to check if this is true and if anyone has encountered a similar situation for SAP implementations on Germany and how did you deal with this scenario.
Any feedback/comments will be very helpful.

    > 1. How did you handle documnets that are physically stored in some other country but legally should be stored in Germany ?
You either mirror them, or give them their own instance to work on and mirror it back.
Another option is to use virtual companies, but in my experience that creates a mess and is not scalable (imagine all countries want this?).
    > 2. Can you please explain about the second point "export controls on encryption software", how is it usefull in this scenario.
It was a thought. I did not say that it would be effectively usefull. Basically, the authorities want to be able to do a "morning raid" if required and confiscate / copy the disks for investigation. That is why they want the hardware physically within their legislative area...
You can use encryption, but the keys (probably lots of them...) will be within legislative area as well, probably.
You will need to contact your DB vendor about that.
Possibly you can also contact the authorities and ask for an exception.
    Cheers,

  • How to extract meta data of documents from SAP R/3

    dear all,
i`am working in aproject where we connect the documents for SAP R/3 applications.we maintain our own repository for that purpose.it may be in bound or out bound according to customer needs.the meata data related to the documents is stored in SAP.our requirement now is to have that metadata available in our repository .can any one guide me how to write ABAP code for extracting meata data from SAP and enable even nonSAP users to have the access for the documents.
    thanks in advance
    ravi

    Hi,
One way to do this is probably set a connection between SAP Database and an external database and store the meta data into external database from where a non-sap user will have an eccess to the data.
    Steps required are :
    1. we have to involve basis team also in that.
    2. they will make one entry
    in DBCON table
(that entry will point to secondary database/external database)
(suppose the name of this secondary connection is HRCON)
    3. Also they will make connection string
    in application server.
    4. After that,
    we should have
the table definition in SAP dd dictionary
    and also
    the same defintion
    in the external database.
    5. now in abap code,
we have to use like this.
    DATA: mydbcon(30) TYPE c.
    mydbcon = 'HRCON'.
    INSERT ydev_msg_cur CONNECTION (mydbcon)
    FROM msg_cur .
    <b>Hope this helps.

  • Services for Object - Store Business Documents (issue with XLSX files)

    Hi,
We are using the Services for Object > Store Business Document to be able to drag and drop files into (for example) Sales Inquiry, Sales Order, Sales Quotations etc.
Within OAC2 we have set up the global document types and these have been linked to the relevant Object Types and Content Repositories in OAC3.  We have also set up the Content Repository as Document Area 'ARCHLINK'.
The ArhciveLink Basic Settings in OAG1 have the 'Always Copy Document Class from Document Type' set under Storage Settings.
The issue we are having is with XLSX document types.  When we drag and drop the XLSX documen type using the Store Business Document the file is stored against the Sales Order but when you come to view the attachments MS Excel opens but an error message appears saying 'Excel cannot open the file '******' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file'?
We have reviewed SAP notes 1925897, 1739026 and 1145885 however non appear to give me a clear answer as to why this is happening?
I have found that if we unselect the option 'Always Copy Document Class from Document Type' in OAG1 then we can open the XLSX files.
As we have a significant amount of documents attached to various objects, what would be the implications of making this change agianst existing records and new records?
Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Gary B

    Hi David,
    No joy I'm afraid!!
I added entry 'xlslx' with the relevant MIME Type, Application and Description into table TOADD for the ArchiveLink settings and also this entry was already in tables SDOKMIME and SDOKFEXT for KPro.
I then following the process via the Services for Object within VA12 (Change Inquiry) to then Create > Store Business document > Select the relevant Document Type > Drag and Drop the XLSX file into the empty box.
I then saved the record and tried to view the attachement but I am still getting the same message  'Excel cannot open the file '******' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file'?
Our client is on componet SAP_BASIS release 701 Support Level 0014 and Support Package SAPKB70114 and I can see that note 1237688 is for SAPKB70112?

  • RFC/FM to store Business document in Purchase Order from external system

    Hi All,
I have been going through various threads for suitable solution, but could not find one which can meet our requirements. Appreciate, if you could share your expertise for the following requirement.
Requirement: One of our external system is going to create/change Purchase Orders in SAP using  standard BAPI's (BAPI_PO_CREATE1,BAPI_PO_CHANGE etc.,). During this process, they would like to attach supporting documents (.pdf, .jpeg, .xls etc) as 'store business document' for the same PO. As per our current configuration, we can attach the documents as dialog user from ME22N/ME23N transaction and attached documents are stored in our IXOS/ Archive server.
Is there any standard BAPI/FM (RFC) available to achieve above requirement?. And what are the parameters we need to pass in the FM to attach or delete documents.
System Details: SAP ERP ECC6 & Netweaver 7.0

  • Store Business Documents

Does anyone have any experience with storing business documents in SAP while using a Mac?
We have several users that are on Macs.  They are unable to attach files/documents to their SAP documents.  The screens they see are not the same as I would expect from the PC world.
Sorry to be so vague.  But, I really don't know where to begin on this one.
A user received the following error message:  Store business document Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.
    Monique Stephens

    Hi,
    Absolutely it is not possible.
The services for object is only visible, once the original object is created.
Even if you check for normal F-02 entry also, it wont be visible during entry, but will be visible after posting if we go thru FB02 or FB03.
Any attachment can be assigned through the services for object, is possible only after creation of the dependent / original data.
So for AS02 and AS03, the dependent data has to be there in the DB, which has been created with AS01.
    Thanks,
    Srinu

  • PB30 / PB10 "Store busines document" as business Object "PAPL"

My problem is that i´d like to attach documents to an applicant within PB10 or PB30. To do so i want to use the "Store business document" function but  this function is only applicable for business object APPLICANT. I need BO PAPL so that the document are visible in Poratal (MSS).
Has anyone an idea how to do this?

    Hi,
Attachments are stored in binary format.
Advantage of  storing in SAP is speedy access, than compared to content server.
Disadvantage some of the table space grows exponently.
Some of the tables attachments get stored are SO*
To get the link for the folder and attachments stored in SRGBTBREL
Various type of attachments are ATTA NOTE URL MSG etc.
For custom attachment options can be enabled using class CL_GOS_MANAGER

    Hi,
    exactly what is your requriement?
if you want to uplaod .doc into any particular transaction for particular ouccurence(say PO number) , then it depends on the options provided with in that transaction(ME21N for this Ex.)
otherwise if you want to store some documents in general  then you can store it on Application server.
