If you wanted to role the execookie.txt file out to your user community, assuming they all use Internet Explorer, you could role a file which lets IE determine which application to launch. The following file worked for me:

Can someone tell me if I'm doubling up as I'm not sure of the differences between the products and would like to save a few dollars.

Acrobat Pro can do a lot more than the PDF Pack online service.
Try if you can do everything you need with PDF Pack; otherwise keep Acrobat Pro.

Import Word/Excel document option greyed out

For a class assignment I am instructed to import a Word document using Import -> Word Document. The problem is that the option to import Word & Excel documents is greyed out. Yes, I have the destination file open when I try to import the document. This does not change even if I create a new, blank HTML file and try to import the document into that file.
My system:
Dreamweaver CS5
Microsoft Office 10
Windows 7
64-bit processor
Could this be an incompatability with 64-bit system? That's the only thing that's out of the norm on my computer. Is there something that I can change to make this option work on my system?

Unfortunately, the free Adobe technical support is staffed by who are not technical experts. The answer that you received is complete nonsense.
Office 10 is the XP version of Microsoft Office, which was released in 2002. Office 2010 is actually Office 14.0.
Like you, I have Windows 7 64-bit. I also have Office 2010 installed.
I have just created a test document in Word 2010, and saved it on my desktop. I then opened Dreamweaver CS5, made sure the focus was in Design view, and then selected File > Import > Word Document. The file was correctly imported.
As I said before, it's important for the focus to be in Design view. The following screenshot shows an attempt to access Import > Word Document when the focus is out of Design view. The option is greyed out.
I then clicked inside Design view to ensure the focus was in the correct place. As the following screenshot shows, the options for Word and Excel are no longer greyed out.
Importing Word documents in Dreamweaver CS5 on Windows 7 64-bit definitely works with Word 2010. If it's not working on your system, there's a problem with your installation. It's not a bug in Dreamweaver or lack of support for Office 2010.

Download Open Office, Libre Office or Neo Office, all free, all open Word and Excel files

Add a MS Word/Excel document to a Calender Event.

How do I add a MS Word/Excel document file to a Calendar Event so that it can be saved in the Calendar Event? In MS Outlook you just either copy or add the file to the Event and save.

If it's simple text, I'd copy-and-paste the content into an Event (you have to create it first :-( ) or add the file's URL to the Event. But AFAIK Lightning doesn't let you attach files to Events.
If you do insert an URL, you may have to think about placing the linked document somewhere where you can get at it regardless of your location. Google Docs, Dropbox or similar, perhaps.
MS products do enjoy tight integration, but then each is privy to the innermost workings of its stablemates and they can use proprietary protocols and interfaces to communicate with each other. OTOH, they don't share too easily with third party software. If that degree of tight integration is important to you, you need to decide for yourself if it's worth paying for. Speaking for myself, I am mean; I'm happier with a hotch-potch of not-very-well-integrated free open source tools. Thunderbird, Firefox, Libre Office. Oh, and Linux. ;-)

Hi i dont know,but you can giave a look to Jakarta POI that can have a awt preview for Excell document,or you can try to replicate your document with Jasper,design a pdf like your word or excell document , and use the AWTPreview.

How to attach a word/excel document to an html DB application

Hi,
We have a requirement to attach a document (word/excel etc..) to a customers record in a HTML db application. How can we do this?
Are there any application wizards to attach a document to the record, which can then be stored in the database as a BLOB field or can be stored in a file system on the application/db server itself.

Can I synch Word/Excel documents?

I'm running OS X 10.9.5 on both a iMac and a Macbook Air. I'm new to the use of iCloud, so bear with me. I'd like to synch Word and/or Excel documents between my two Macs (i.e., edit the file on either Mac and then have the latest version of the file available on the other Mac), but it appears I'll need to wait for Yosemite to do that, right?
If I log on to iCloud.com and click on the "Pages" icon, I get the following message:
"To use Pages, you'll need to upgrade your account to iCloud Drive. iCloud Drive will allow you to store any file in iCloud and access it any time, on any device."
BUT, the message goes on to say: "Important: If you upgrade, you won't be able to access documents in iCloud from devices with IOS 7 or OS X Mavericks. You'll need to install iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite on the following devices..."
This sounds a bit like a "Catch22". Since Yosemite is not yet available, the message seems to be saying, in effect: "to use Pages (to store a document) you need to upgrade. If you upgrade you won't be able to use Pages"
I'm confused. Any help is appreciated.

With MacOS X Mavericks on your MacBook Air and iMac, you should be able to use "Documents in The Cloud".
But it works only with iCloud-enabled apps. You would need to open your Word Documents with Pages and the Excel documents with Numbers. Pages and Numbers can store documents in the cloud and they would be synced to your other Mac.
If you want to keep the Office documents as Word documents, but still sync them in the cloud, try Winston Churchill's user tip. You can create your own iCloud drive, see this link: Using iCloud to sync multiple document types.

This will only work, if you did not upgrade a mobile device to iOS 8 and enabled iCloud Drive on that device. In that case you will have to wait till Yosemite will be released.

Time out when trying to open Word/Excel document from portal

Several of our users have been timing out when trying to open/download documents stored in our portal.
The error message is "Download failed. Connection to server was reset."
Is there some obvious setting that I am missing here?
It happens with things as small as 200K - Word and Excel documents.

Will iWork open Microsoft Word & Excel documents ?

Do I need to install Microsoft Word & Excel or Apple iWork to open documents that are emailed in Word & Excel ? I am going to run Windows XP Pro on this machine.

Apples iWork or better said Pages can open Word documents and Numbers can open Excel documents.
But iWork is only avaiable for Mac OSX, not for Windows.
When running Windows you either need the MS Office package (or MS Word and MS Excel as standalone programs) or you can use the free OpenOffice http://www.openoffice.org/
OpenOffice is also avaiable for Mac OSX.

How to store a Excel document using Webdynpro

Hi Folks,
I need a Web application, where user will have an option of uploading an Excel file. Then the application should store this file in application server in Excel format.
Then I need another web application where, I will display a tabular structure with two date column and third column showing as a link to the file. Also this second application will have an option to save the file on desktop. I need a button to pass the data in this file to another program.
Technical issues:
I know how to read data from an excel by using Upload UI element. But how can I store the file on application server in excel format. And then how can I read the Excel file in such way that, I can show a link of this Excel file in a tabular structure displayed on a Webdynpro application.
Please provide your valuable inputs on this technical issue.

Accessing Word/Excel Documents

I have some documents on my Laptop which would be handy to have access to when I update and save these...is there any way that when I log onto ITunes, that it can have access to these documents to view somehow...if there a free way to do this ??
Are there any free programs you can suggest that will auto update and that I can access easily on my I-phone...and...If I have comments on these spreadsheets, that it will show these???
