Storeassetd is asking for username and password to install new software...

Turned on my MacB Air and the battery icon didn't display percentage....wanted to change that icon if I could find it but couldn't....then pop up window says:
storeassetd is trying to install new software enter username and password.
I've guessed every combo I can and am not coming up with the right combo........it keeps popping up....
Suggestions?  Comments?  Questions?
thanks....

Hi. Updates from apple come from software update or the app store and usually  display what the update is. If you have a newer operating system you can go to the app store my account and look for any updates. Or give you a triangle to click for more info. The percentage for battery is at the battery icon upper right Click on the icon and a drop down will let you choose show and percentage.

  • Sharepoint2013 Stop asking for UserName and Password

    Hi,
I have Installed New sharePoint2013 Server , I face Issue that Sharepoint Site keep asking for UserName and Password aeach Time.
I set as  windows authentication in both IIS and Central Administration ,
and I configure The IE and I set Automatic Login with Current Username And Password and I put it in Trusted site  and nothing  change.
I also have sharepoint 2010 server and when I configure it like above it
stopped ask me for UserName and Password ,
Can any one help me what maybe  the problem in SharePoint server2013.
    thank you,,,

    Hi,
    Try following these steps:
Adding the site to Local Intranet Zone:
Navigate to Tools > Internet Options
Under Security tab, navigate to Local Intranet > Sites > Advanced. Enter the URL of your SharePoint site and click Add. Uncheck theRequire server
verification (https:) for all sites in this zone box and click Close
Adding the entry to the Credentials Manager:
Go to Start > Run and type in control keymgr.dll to open the Windows key manager.
Alternatevily: navigate to Contorl Panel > User Accounts > Manager Windows Credentials
    Select Add a generic credential
Add your SharePoint site URL, login and password to the corresponding fields. If this entry already exists, edit it to have your login credentials.
    Reboot the computer.
If you are missing the Add button, you may want to modify Windows Registry to be able to save the password.
Note: for editing Windows Registry, administrator rights are required. Editing Windows Registry is not safe and you will perform it at your own risk.
In Windows, go to Start > Run and enter regedit.
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\.
Find the DisableDomainCreds entry. A value of 1 (enabled) will prevent you from saving new credentials.
Change the value to 0 and reboot. Now you should have the Add button available. Note that 0 is the default value.
Also check the LmCompatibilityLevel entry. It should be set to 3, which is the default value. If you have another value, change it to 3. If it does not
work with 3, then also try it with 2.
Reboot the computer to apply changes.

  • RE1000 asks for username and password

I have the RE1000 installed as extender for my WRT110 router. I was told by Linksys live chat tech that this would be suitable for our home network. When in the family room or on patio (where I have weak WiFi usually), the Extender shows on my iPad in the list of available WIFI and has excellent icon (the router usually has one or two bars and goes in and out).
When I try to access the Extender on my iPad, it asks for username and password but will not take it. Should I run setup again or what?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

in setting up the range extender, it will give you the option to connect to your network. so essentially, you will not have to define/ specify the settings manually. the purpose of the range extender is to extend the signal of the main network, not create a separate network of its own.
i suggest that you RESET the range extender and run the setup wizard again. make sure to connect the device to your network. once the devices have synced up, you will be able to fully utilize this device.

  • Why asking for username and password once entered

    Hi!
While configuring a new account in Outlook 2010 from Internet it asks for username and password one more time even after entering it once at the beginning of the account setup.
Can anybody provide some details. Can't the automatic setup take the entered credentials once for all?
    Exchange 2010 and 2013
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Based on my experience, the credential issue can be caused by the connectivity issue.

  • Problem with iWeb asking for username and password to access my public site

Today for some reason anyone trying to access my site is being asked for username and password. I have made no changes that would require a password. My site has always been public.

I am having the same problems. My site is public, I checked the settings on the public folder on MobileMe to ensure that it was public and did not require password protection either. But for some odd reason, even though I didn't change anything, my site's pages seem to require a user name and password to get into them. If one continues to click cancel, the page continues to load.
This does not happen every single time, but it happens more often than not. I have tried this with my iMac, Macbook, as well as my iPod Touch, and I get this on all machines. My brother has tried logging in from another location using his Macbook Pro, and he gets the password prompt as well.
I tried turning on password protection to the site and uploading the changes, then disabling password protection and reupping the changes once again. I've tried uploading entire site, instead of just changes, but the problem continues to persist. I definitely need this issue solved since this site is important to me.
    The site url is: http://www.globalwinetour.com
Does anyone have any suggestions to rectify this, or does anyone have any idea what is causing it? Am I missing something here? Am I doing something wrong? Please help me out!
    Many thanks in advance!

New Imac. I get rid off login password from security and accounts and restart. Now it asks for username and password and it's not acepting anything. Any ideas?

First, reset your password as follows.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.
If you're being prompted to authenticate when making changes to files inside your home folder, continue as follows.
    Back up all data now.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:20 ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ 2> /dev/null
Be sure to select the whole line by triple-clicking anywhere in it. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar. A text window opens.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

  • When using SSL Word Files ask for username and password.

I have SharePoint Foundation 2013 setup and it works great.  I need to allow users access when they are not connected to our local network, so for testing purposes I added a domain signed certificate and assigned it to IIS on 443. Internally when
I try to access the site IE now ask me for a username and password and when I open a word file Word then ask me for a username password again. If it didn't do it in http why is it happening with https and how can I fix it?  Externally I know users will
have to login but they should have to only login in once right?

After doing some more research it seems that it is just not possible to use Windows authentication along with FQDN without being prompted for username and password in SharePoint.  Can anyone confirm this? I am sorry what a bad design of a program.
Did anyone think at Microsoft that organizations might want employees to work from outside of their network in the year 2013 using the username and passwords they already have.

  • Outlook asking for username and password, but only for some users

    Hello, I'm
in an Exchange Server 2013 client
    environment, two CAS servers
    and two Mailbox.
Some users are having trouble in Outlook 2007
    and 2012, which is directly
requesting the user name and password, not all,
    just some.
    The Active Directory is ok,
    DNS and also own Exchange
servers apparently do not see errors.
Has anyone here ever experienced this?
How can I solve this problem?
As this happens only to some users
and the vast majority have no problems, so
    difficult to find the cause.
    Thank you!
    Ivanildo Teixeira Galvão

    Hi Ivanildo,
From your description, only some users have an issue that Outlook prompts for username and password. In your case, I recommend you compare the normal and problematic Outlook settings. Here is the Outlook settings in my environment for your reference:
    1. "Always prompt for logon credentials" isn't checked.
    2. Logon network security using Negotiate Authentication.
    3. "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" is checked.
    4. Use the NTLM Authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • HP1102W, XP, asking for username and password

I'm setting up my wireless printer, and it is asking for a username and password?
The wireless printer is set up and shows a status of online when I look at the printer in the browser.  I recently reinstalled windows and everything on one PC. I am trying to set up the wireless printer to print from the PC that was recently reimaged.  It is an HP 1102W. I click Add a Printer (next), A network printer (next), Browse for a printer. The printer shows up in my list of devices. But when I click on it, I am asked for a username and password for the PC that this printer is connected to by USB cable. I do not know what username and password it is asking for.
It does not seem to be the printer username and password it is looking for. It is looking for the username and password for the PC that the printer is hooked up to (by USB cable.). The box that comes up is a windows box and says "Connecting to SHARONS-PC" and then asks for the username and password. There is no username and password on this PC.

I finally figured it out. Even though this is a wireless network printer, it is not added by clicking on the add a network printer. Somehow, Microsoft considers this a local printer (attached to this computer, even though it is not attached to the computer or a local printer).
    To add:
Click Add a printer (next), select Local Printer (attached to this computer) (next), The wizard was unable to find a plug and play printer (next), select Create a new port. From the drop down select Standard TCP/IP port (next) (next), put in the printer IP address from the configuration page of the printer. That should pre-fill the port name also (next). That should add the wireless network printer.

  • Proxy Server asking for username and password almost 6 times for every page I load, but the same doesn't happen with other browsers like chrome

The same question keeps popping up again and again "The proxy moz-proxy://proxy.iitm.ac.in:3128 is requesting a username and password. The site says: "moz-proxy://proxy.iitm.ac.in:3128""
Even after i give the right details, it asks me like 5 more times before it completely loads the page. Some times it happens only 2 times.
With other browsers like chrome, it asks only in the beginning. it doesn't occur after that.
This started occurring only recently. i upgraded to firefox 9.0 and it functioned properly for more than 12 hours before it started occuring. i tried downgrading back to 8.0.1 but the problem still continued.

i'm afraid i need to use proxy settings to connect to internet. The settings are all fine because it used to work properly all this time. i specify the proxy address and the port, which is correct, i am very confident. it is so because the page actually loads on firefox, but not before it asks for my user name and password for it a lot of times, and for every page. for other browsers, it asks only in the beginning, that is, when i start the browser.
i've put three pics here. under the first two settings, the third image showing the user name and password thingy popping up. this happens a lot of times for every page.

  • Email setup asking for Username and Password.

I recently backed up my phone on my computer and ever since I did, it's like all of my personal settings were deleted as well. For instance, I had to fix my all of my profiles sounds after backing up, and I went to my Blackberry Appworld, scrolled over to My Appworld and it says 'no downloads' and I have downloaded a lot of applications. That's not really a problem for me, as long as I get messages when updates come out for the apps...? Now, I am trying to setup another email  address and when going to 'email setup wizard', I am being prompted for a Username and Password. I don't remember ever making a username or password for email setup, but was able to firgure out I could put my PIN in for my password to be sent, which it was. BUT I still do not know what my username is, and I've tried my email addresses with and without what's after the @ and still no luck.  Could somebody please help me resolve this problem?

You must have done something more than just a simple backup -- a backup does not change device settings or preferences or write anything to the handheld.
As far as the email setup, it should not be your email address, it's whatever you created, perhaps the first part of your email, the part before the @ ?
but you must know it to proceed. Or, call your carrier and ask to have the BIS account reset (basically they shoudl delete it and recreate it for you).
