StoreKit in App payments staging environment working outside the USA?

Hi All,
When developing an application with payment functionality using the new StoreKit framework available in iPhoneOS v3.0 we have found the following issues.
I was wondering if anyone else has come across the same issues.
Here is the list:
1) Using iTunes connect we created several test users one for each of the appStores in which we want to sell the application. In our case USA and The Netherlands. When signing in on to those accounts either in iTunes or on the iPhone we are asked to review the account data and supply the credentials for some means of payment. Further more those credentials have to be unique. I can not use a credit card that I am already using on another account. Has anyone else encountered this problem? And if so was there a solution work around for it?
Our understanding based on the documentation is that the accounts created via iTunes Connect for in app payment testing connect the requests of the StoreKit to a staging environment at apple in which the flow of the payments is emulated but no charges issued. So why is the credit card needed then?
2) We managed to set up an account with valid means of payment for our region(NL). We sign in with that account on the iPhone, that account is registered in iTunes Connect as a test account. When testing the application we are presented after the acceptance of payment pop-up with a screen that is asking us to log on. That is all fine, the issue is that we never manage to log on. After that we get asked to review oour account information the application under development quits and we are put in front of a web view that keeps on loading but loads nothing. Basically a blank screen with a spinner. After a bit it re-asks to log on, and it does so for ever.
3) For last and not least since we have to supply payment credentials for each zone we need a credit card or a bank account in each of those areas. Without valid payment credentials there is no way of indicating that we want to have no payment credentials associated with that account. Is there any way out of this loop?

We're having the exact same problem developing in Canada. Has anyone else come across this issue? the error code we get is:
Error Domain=SKErrorDomain Code=0 UserInfo=0x47e11f0 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"
Which doesn't help much..

Getting Siri to understand home and work outside the USA

I've just written this up in my blog
You've told Siri which contact is you. You ask Siri "Remind me to talk to Michael when I arrive at work" but it just replies telling you that it doesn't know where your office is - but you've got an entry in the address book for "work"!
It's probably iCloud and Mac OS X working against you.
Address Book on OS X supports multiple address formats - some of which looks very much like the location you're in and you may not have changed them.
To persuade Siri to understand you need to change the address format - locate the contact in Address Book and click edit. Click the label on the offending address and a context menu will appear - at the bottom there's a sub-menu which allows you to change the address format. Choose the appropriate one and click Done.
Now, once iCloud has synced which doesn't take long, Siri will beable to set reminders for home and work without problems.

I too had the same problems as everyone else on here but I've sussed it out how to do it. Go on google maps on your phone and find your home or work etc on the map. Now on your home press your finger on the screen and it drops a pin with a blue arrow.
Click on the blue arrow
click on add to contacts
click on add to existing contact
find your own contact details and click on it
your details open up with the address you dropped the pin on now in your address field.
click on edit at the top right hand side of the screen
now scroll down to the address and click on the address description at the side of the listed address and select either home, work other or add custom label.
The custom label is good for anything else you need to name. I have all our branches now listed under say, wolverhampton brach, telford branch etc. This way I can get siri to remind me where ever I want to go such as " remind me to get my tools back when i get to the "wolverhampton branch". Works 100% every time this way.

IPhone 6 (or Plus) contract-free and unlocked to work outside the USA?

I'm from Italy, and we have the highest prices in the whole world for the 6.
I want to buy one from the online US Apple Store, since I can't fly over just for a phone.
Yes I am aware I would then not have any warranty, since it's not international.
From what I've gathered the 3 carriers-with-contract options are obviously locked phones, respectively with those 3 carriers.
Even if you first activate them with a different SIM (different country&carrier), they wouldn't work and/or stay locked.
Also since they're made for those 3 carriers, they would obviously not support the 4G/LTE bands in my country.
The 4th option is this contract-free T-Mobile one, it's apparently unlocked, and works with other SIMs, from other countries too.
But there's still the network bands issue, and apparently even that T-Mobile one is not the proper model to work in my country.
At least for my country the model must be the following:
A15486 (iPhone 6 GSM) and A1522 (iPhone 6 Plus)
Bottom line is, the carrier-locked ones are no good, for various reasons, but the unlocked one is no good either!
Does anyone anywhere know (or can gather US info for me) WHERE I can find those 2 models?
If they're on sale in the US at all? Which ones on the online store are those 2?
It would make sense that the unlocked one would also have the proper bands to work abroad, since it does work with foreign SIMs!
But various people say it is not the proper model, I wonder which one is, at this point.
They do exist, if the model numbers have been published!

Why would you want to buy a leading edge iPhone and not be able to use 4G
I wouldn't, which is why I'm asking if anyone has 1st hand experience of trying it.
If Apple could produce an iPhone that covered 4G worldwide why would they actually have to make 2 different models
Beats me! The reason I'm curious is my friend has an iphone 5s purchased from an Apple Store in the US which works perfectly on 3G, 4G, etc. using a Tesco sim in the UK. Just wondering if the 6 (which I've read is more LTE 'versatile' - although I could be mistaken) can do the same.
To reiterate, has anyone out there actually brought back a US iphone 6 and found that it works (or does not work) with 4G?

I have a new ipad and everything works but can't connect to the app store. Itunes works and the wifi seems to be working but i get a blank white screen when i open the appstore.Nothing will load unter the features or charts tab. Any Suggestions?

Yes, but possibly limited to coverage of Skyhook database..
Applications that use location services also use the data from Skyhook...
Skyhook is a service that records the MAC addresses of Cell Base stations/towers and wireless access points.
Google Maps vehicles records the wireless AP data at the same time they get street view images.
There was some controversy over this - but they effectively record the location and the MAC address of any AP they find as they drive round. This gets sent to a massive database at Skyhook and is used to either locate without GPS or enhance/aid the GPS information. It's also why the location is always the road outside!
If your location/MAC relationship has not been mapped by Skyhook, Google or others - then the good news is that you can add it - although it can take a month or two at least - to work. The reason is that it depends which database is being used by Skyhook's clients..

We don't know where "here" is.
You don't need a sim card to use any navigation app. Navigation apps use GPS which is independent of cellular data.

As Ethmoid says, it is still a CDMA phone as I told you earlier, and it will not work with t-mobile. Even if Sprint unlocked the phone, it would only unlock the GSM side for international use. They will not unlock the GSM side for domestic use in the US.

Yes, I am in Canada and Vimeo is working just fine.

You might just have to contact Apple and ask them to remove it (losing it). Usually people clear a balance by buying one song and having the exact remainder charged to their credit card, but if you don't have a US credit card you cannot do that.

3G network outside the USA

looking to get an Ipad 2 with 3G but I live outside the USA in a country where 3G is available. Do I have to get one that's configured to either AT&T or Verizon? if yes, will I be able to use it on a different network or will it need to be unlocked? thanks.

att gsm model is not locked
not sure about the verizon model as they don't use sim cards
and most of the rest of the world don't use the CDMA network type verizon use

The USA Apple store only only ships to the USA. Some other countries have their own online stores which ship to their countries. Go to the store web page and click on the change country link at the bottom to see if your country is one of them.
