Stories workflow (from non FCP markers)

Say I create 2 stories. The first one plays about half of the DVD jumping between several tracks to specific chapter points (whereby Im not really using End Jumps because everything is dictated by the Story?)
The 2nd one plays the "long cut" which simply skips around to more of the chapter markers. Then I apply each story to a button?
Given the GOP issue with non FCP markers in DVDSP, I guess I'd also have to render seques where the chapter point are going to be. Is it true that using Stories will make the chapter jumps quicker or will each jump have the dreaded pause?

Usually it is quicker, but depends upon how far the are away from each other, whether they are in order or bouncing back and forth. But in general faster than scripting jumps

Triggering SAP workflow from non-SAP system

I am trying to use WF-XML to trigger a workflow in SAP from non-SAP system.
I have already created a workflow template in SAP and want to test the scenario if this will be really hit by the incoming xml message.
Questions:
1. How the data from incoming xml is tranferred to workflow container element? IF system does it, how is done? If not how to address it?
2. Do we have some tool here, to simulate this situation - to create a test xml incoming message with SAP and really see if that triggers the desired workflow template. Pupose is testing the scenario first in SAP and then going to the other system to test the real interface.
This is somewhat similar that we see in incoming IDoc. In Idoc we can simulate the incoming IDoc structure and test.
Is any one here who can guide on this?

Hi,
You don't need a triggering event. In the xml it says which workflow should be started. You don't need a class to fill the container. The service does this.
I think there is a way to generate an example xml but I don't know exactly how. In the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/54/de9e3887d6174fe10000009b38f842/frameset.htm">SAPHelp</a> there are some examples of the documents. Check also the entry above it about the creation of a WF_XML document. In the first and third example it shows a container element and its value (QUESTION).
Try to get a copy of the book "Practical workflow for SAP" by Alan Rickayzen. It has got a part about this.

You need to export a self-contained video from FCP 6. Import the self-contain video into Compressor 4.

It will read the data from excel sheet column wise and then store it in ITAB. you can change the order after reading the file.
In case of Text file use FM GUI_UPLOAD.
You can change the order of the fileds after reading it from file, but the length and all you have to make compatible to SAP standard fields.

Can no longer send/receive MMS from Non-iPhones

Just recently (after I updated my iPhone 4S to the iOS 7.0.4), I have been unable to send or receive MMS messages from anyone who does not have an iPhone. I've tried to restart my phone and reset my network settings (temporary fix - it'll let me send or receive maybe 1 MMS from non-iphone user immediately after restart and/or network settings reset and then it will stop working again). I have no issues sending/receiving through iMessage to iPhone users, but for non-iPhone users, it will say "Not Delivered." This issue is both on Wi-Fi and Cellular Data. Has anyone encountered this same issue --- AND found a solution???? I don't have the option to back-up my data (pics/videos, etc) and do a complete restor of my phone to factory settings - so any solutions not involving that would be greatly appreciated!!

lindajj, Yikes!! I would be so lost without my text messages. I use my text for everything these days. Let's make sure that we get you up and running with no issues. Does everything else work on your cell phone (calls and data)? Are you using the text message application that came on the phone or a 3rd party application from the Play Store? Also, do you get any kind of error messages when you try to send out a text message? Please keep me posted.

Workflow Circuit between FCP and After Effects with HDV

I am trying to set up a workflow circuit with FCP 5.1.1 and AE 7.0 using HDV. We are:
1. building sequences with FCP
2. exporting to AE
3. adding in FX with AE
4. putting those back into FCP
The footage we are using is compressed with HDV 1080i60 in FCP.
My problem is finding the correct way to export the HDV with FCP. I have tried using Quicktime Conversion but the only option I can find for uncompressed video didn't work when we tried to transfer it.
I think the main problem is that the AE work is being done on PCs and the video that we have tried sending can't be read by PCs. The audio plays through fine but the video shown is nonexistent.
What conversion should we use in FCP that allows us to keep the video uncompressed and in its best quality for use in AE? And what works best on the AE end of it?
Can someone give some advice on steps that they would or have taken for a project of the same ilk.

What's your system setup? What FX exactly (e.g. color correction, or just random FX thrown in every now and then)? What went wrong when you tried using an uncompressed codec?
1) If everything's on an external FAT32 formatted drive (fat chance, get it?), then i think you could export a quicktime reference of your timeline (choose the option that ends up giving u a tiny file). Then plug the drive into your PC, load the Quicktime Ref (also known as QT Ref) into AE7 and FX away. Then export a QT with HDV 1080i60 specs and reimport into FCP.
2) If you're only doing occsional FX (e.g. gun flashes, lasers from robots, etc..), and nothing that encompasses the entire length of the project (e.g. color correction), you could export a hashed down QT Conversion of the timeline with whatever decent codec that works (e.g. DV NTSC). Then import into AE7, lay down the video, add your effects. But then before you export your FX, turn OFF your original video layer so all your FX are on a transparent background. Export clips with alpha channel and reimport those into FCP.
3) Ensure that the PC is using the latest version of quicktime. It may need to be upgraded to whatever version is on the Mac, and it may need to be registered as Pro.

Transfer Contacts from non iphone to iphone

Having been told that transferring contacts from non-iphone phones was easy, I tried to find out how. ATT has no earthly clue, and neither does my local Apple store. Even the website for ipohne says it can be done, without any help I can find. Our phones are Motorola phones, and we have more than 200 contacts beteween us and don't want to re-enter them manually. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

When the script runs, it parses the Sample.Basic outline and stores all key elements about the
outline and its members in a logical format represented by XML. The Export Outline function
runs rather quickly against the server and the resulting XML file gets created at the specified
location. If the file already exists it will be overwritten without warning.
Opening the resulting XML file in a browser or text editor will show a standard XML structure
with elements representing both the cube and the dimensions from the outline. The XML file is
now ready for consumption.

How to trigger a second workflow from a workflow?

Hi All,
          I want your guidance in deciding the process flow of a workflow to be developed.
          We have a scenario in our project where we have to develop a workflow for vendor creation/change
          done through a portal.Now we have designed to do through this 2 workflows.
          First workflow is triggered when the create/change is done in the portal and the entry is made in a
          z table.This is the trigger point of first workflow.
          First workflow will identify all approvals and store them in another z table with all the approval levels needed and the approval groups stored in the z table itself.
          Second flow will trigger on the entry made in this z table.It will read all approvals and send the mails to tha approvers in the respective aproval groups.
Now can you please verify this.Is it possible to trigger a second workflow from a workflow?
If yes then can you please explain the methodology to do the same?
Also if any other approach can be taken,please suggest the same.

First Develop a Z Business OBject (let ZVENDOR) to update the Z table when ever a Vendor is created or Changed.
Now For the first workflow do like this
From the WD application when the user clicks on the SAVE button then call the Function module SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW .
Develop a method in the ZVENDOR to update the Z table.Make the method as background.
Use the method that you have created in the above point in the first workflow but prior to this make sure that you have passed all the required information to the workflow.
Once the table is updated.
For Second Workflow
Create a Change document object for the Ztable.
And trigger the workflow when ever any entry is made or changed in the z table

Trigger a workflow from ABAP Webdynpro

My Scenario:
Step 1: When a user hits the SAVE button on the webdynpro form, check if that data is consistent only and trigger a message(I have a BAPI to handle this check).
Step 2: If the data is consistent, then trigger a workflow to send an alert to an agent along with the data user entered on the form.
Step 3: AGENT shall review the data(Same form from step 1 should appear here) and will have the option to SUBMIT / POST or REJECT. If SUBMITTED, data will be posted to R/3(I have a 2nd BAPI to handle this). If REJECTED, send an alert back to the USER who entered data in step 1.
I checked lots of threads from the forum, none gave me a complete idea. Can any one give me a good documentation to trigger workflow from webdynpro to handle my requirement.
I am new to webdynpro.

I slightly misunderstood you requirement earlier. But if I am not wrong this time, here is what you need to do:
1) The Web dynpro form that you are creating is only for data entry purpose. But the agent who is going to review the data will need an access to this form. So this means that you need to save the content of this form to the database and provide a URL in the workflow workitem which the agent can use to open the web dynpro application with the form data on it.
2) To access the correct form, you need to save the form data in a Z-table with a GUID attached to it. Generate this GUID using GUID_CREATE function module. In the window controller of the Web dynpro component, there will be a handleDefault method where you can read the parameter'GUID' from the incoming request and use it to read the form data from the database to display the form.
3) You can use Object Oriented programming approach for creating Workflow. Check the following article to learn how to do that:

4) Create a Z-class and use this class as object type in your workflow (instead of BOR object).

6) Create a method in this class which will do the task of calling the BAPI to save the Acct Document. This method will be used in a Background task in a workflow step (after the agent approves the workitem).
7) Create a method in the class which generates the URL to the webdynpro application with the GUID passed as parameter.
(for eg: http://urltoserver/appname?GUID='guidoftheform').
8) In your save method of WD application, call the method to raise event that triggers the workflow (using OO)

There would be a way to do this using BOR objects, but this is the way that I have tried and tested to use trigger workflows from Web dynpro applications.

Migration of SAP Workflow to non-SAP system

Hi All,
If there is a SAP Standard or custom Business Workflow in SAP system and if we want to implement the same business flow in some non-SAP system(EX: Oracle Apps,Workflow tools etc.,) where Workflows can be used...
Can we migrate the SAP workflow into that system (non-SAP) by converting to the SAP Workflow template in xml or other format that supports the non-SAP system?
Can the above said scenario be done?
Or what is the process of Migrations of Workflows from SAP to non-SAP or Vice versa.?

Hi,
From your posting what I can understand is you want to model the same Process in other System e.g. Oracle Apps which is already modeled and working properly in SAP system. I wonder if its possible to download the template from a system and use it in other. As per my knowledge every system has its own development Engine which is configured to work in a specified way. So if its possible then its really time saving.

Problem with STO from non-WM to WM-HU

Hi,
We have found out recently that we cannot move materials from non-WM to WM-HU storage locations with STO (313-315). When we are trying to post 313 from non-WM storage location, system gives error "ILN basis no. for plant XXXX, stor.locat. XXXX or whse number not found" where XXXX is the plant id and storage location id for non-WM stor.loc., so it should not have any ILN configured.
We have been using this functionality for a long time, last time in Septmeber. But since the problem applies to all materials and all STOs between non-WM and WM-HU, the problem is not connected to material master or specific storage location but should be some general setting in the system.
Does anybody has any idea where to look for?

Triggering SRM workflow from a web-based form (HTML)

I am a beginner in SAP, please bear with me.
I have created an online data entry form using html to populate a table in a non-SAP database. I am able to call this form in SAP EP using URL iView.
I want some help on triggering an SRM workflow from this form.

I would like to explain the scenario:
1.The form would reside in the SAP Enterprise portal
2.When the form is completed and the "submit" button is clicked, I expect a workflow in SAP SRM to be triggered.
3.The workflow is a developed three-step approval workflow. It was developed using the Hierarchical Approval workflow wizard.
Questions:
1. How can the workflow be triggered when the submit button is clicked?
2. How can the data from the Form be integrated into the workflow and vice versa?
