Storing a video file on my tunsten T5 produces very short battery life

I recently stored 2 videos on my internal drive of my T5. I have lots of room .. over 50% free.
I noticed battery went from 100% charged to dead in less than 1 hour.
I had done 2 things .. 1. changed preferences on pictures to slide show and 2. stored 2 videos.
I have now taken slide show off the preferences options and deleted the videos.
Battery now staying charged.
Has anyone else had this experience?

  • IPad full - storing raw video files...?

    Guys,
I have an 64Gb iPad which I like to take away with me on snowboarding holidays (in place of my 15" MBP3,1), which I copy video files onto from my GoPro Hero2 video camera’s SD memory card via the camera connection kit. After a little editing down in iMovie I'll upload the movie to Facebook or YouTube.
My unedited video files can be a few gig in size (if I leave the camera on for a whole run down the mountain (35 minutes is about 3.9Gb)), so the problem I'm having is that a few days or a weeks worth of video files can easily fill the iPad's 64Gb memory - if I'm away for longer this becomes a problem as I soon max out the iPads storage.
Uploading unedited files to Dropbox for future editing isn't really an option (as it takes hours and hours to upload even a single 3.9GB file over a typical chalet’s wifi connection, and file size limits aren’t great either), so I was wondering what other options people might suggest?
I have an iCloud account, but that possibly has the same transfer time/storage limitations as Dropbox?
Is there any way of copying files off of the iPad onto an external hard drive for storage? Would this require jail breaking the iPad? Any apps available?
    Anyone have any other suggestions?
I know Apple want to push cloud services, but I’m surprised Apple haven’t provided a solution for this gigabyte storage problem for movie editing when wifi isn’t great…
    Cheers,
      Martin

when you did copy the whole file structure, you have to chose 'import from camera/open archive' …
I'm following the same workflow as you do:
    • in Finder, without FCPX, on my extHDD I create a folder 'backup Zoo Day May' (or any other descriptive title)
    • drag the whole file structure into it from SDcard to folder
    • when finally finding the time for editing, in FCPX, import from camera, then open archive, then digging thru my drives to that folder
    • FCPX notices this folder as a 'cam' and offers the usual import options, no need for that old (sorry, mish ) trick with dmgs

  • Storing a Video File

    Hi,
Is it Possible to store a Video file in database.
if yes ,Please let me know the datatype to be used .

    Hi Chandra ,
SQL Server is providing a really useful architecture, called file
stream. It is a combination of the database and the file system, thus you have the advantages of both. This tutorial has it flaws, but it is a good

  • Storing small video files

How can i store small video files (all less than 3 mb in size) in an oracle 10Gr2 Database?

    By using BLOBs.

  • Editing video file in Quicktime Pro and producing a file which doesn't play

    Hi all,
I have been editing some mp4 video in Quicktime Pro by setting the in and out position markers and cutting out segments (commercials). I save the file and end up with a .mov file which plays fine in the Quicktime player. (The file is a self-contained Quicktime movie.) At some point in the future, though, when I go to open the file in the Quicktime Player, only the audio plays. The video does not play, and the file opens as if it contained no video. That is, the Quicktime Player only shows the audio controls, and there's no area for video.
The same file plays fine in a Finder window when using CoverFlow/QuickView mode, which is very strange to me since I assume that uses the same Quicktime engine. It also plays fine in VLC.
Any ideas? It seems like there's some attribute on the file which is telling the Quicktime Player not to play the video, only play the audio.
    Thanks in advance,
    Russ

    Any ideas?
First thing I would do when the file opens as an audio only files is check the "Properties" window to see what it says on a track by track basis. I also might try re-compressing the edited file to see if this prevents whatever is going on.

  • QuickTime Sequencer (SG) and Corrupution of Video Files

    Hi,
I'm trying to recover/repair video files that an app has produced, and without support from the developers (opensource), am in the process of trying to understand the code in the hopes to find out what went wrong and how it can be fixed.
What I've found so far, is that the video files (RAW YUV422, in an AVI container) have been created using the QuickTime Sequencer, pulling the video from attached camera devices. The problem I've hit, is that when the app is recording and is exited prematurely (sending kill signal, Ctrl-C etc) it exits, without calling SGStop on the file that's been written to.
As a result, the file is "corrupted", and can not be opend or viewed in QuickTime, VLC or Mplayer. Now, I'm slightly confused - the file is being written to sequentially, so what is it that SGStop does to the video file to take it from a large dump of data and to turn it into a video file? Is it feasible that a small app can be written to attach to the file, and call SGStop, or is that missing the point altogether?
Plus, these are big files, and the app can move from one file to the next in a matter of seconds, it doesn't reprocess or rewrite the file out elsewhere, all it does is either alter the file's header or just properly end the file - either way, is there anything I can do to forcibly finish the files off? I can feasibly steal headers from identical files (minus the file length, as these are files that have been exited before they reached the correct recording length), with the correct channel information if that's going to fix it?
C-based languages are not my native language, so bare with any idiocracy on my part...
    Thanks

You need to make sure that the files are in the correct format. Since you have windows you can use DVD Decrypter to rip the files from the DVD, if needed, and then use Videora to convert the files to an iPod format. It's much faster than using QT Pro.
Use this guide to convert your files:
    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/guides.html

  • Do resized videos (from iTunes) save battery life?

I have downloaded two videos from itunes. What size/resolution are they? If I resize them to fit the iPod touchs screen resolution will I save battery life?

If I resize them to fit the iPod touchs screen resolution will I save battery life?
That's a good question that I've wondered about. The touch screen native resolution is 480-by-320-pixels. When I export from my eyeTV software, it's at 480x360. PERHAPS, using larger image sizes causes the CPU to work harder in resizing the content. This COULD lead to shorter battery life.

  • How to add a locally stored video file to a presentation

    Hi all ,
I want to add a locally stored video file to a presentation .What is the url that i need to use..
    Ur help is much appreciated
    Thanks

The recommended procedure is to create the presentation on the DMM (upload the video to the DMM) then create a deployment package using the presentation created on the DMM. Once you deploy it to the DMP, the DMM will FTP the video along with presentation files to the DMP which will contain the links to play the video that will be stored locally on the DMP.
You may want to review the following thread to see how to trigger the local presentation to play and how to update it later:

    Hi,
You can't do that in a simple way. You need to have a port open in the firewall, and you need to have a server process on the remote machine.

  • Where on my Mac can I find the actual video files Revel is storing?? I'm FURIOUS.

I am absolutely INFURIATED.  I am shocked and furious to know that for over a year I have been paying for this service and ADOBE, of all software companies hasn't even bothered making an understandable export tool for this garbage.  I have to "Show package contents" and google for over an hour to find out what script or app I can input to extract the photos from all of the senseless subfolders,  and now I can't find for the life of me where the heck the video files are kept.  Now you may be wondering why I don't just select individual videos and export them?? Well, its pretty simple... there are hundreds of them.  They are all under different dates and i'd be sitting here for days exporting them one small group at a time.  I CAN'T WAIT TO CANCEL THIS GARBAGE PRODUCT.  I just need some help getting my beloved personal photos out of this tragic mess.  I am APPALLED by how poorly designed this software is.  I will NEVER AGAIN purchase a product from adobe or any company for that matter with this level of lock-in.  IT IS DESPICABLE!!!

    Hi Kirk,
Just making a note in this post that your question has been answered in your other post:
I need to know how to download all photos AND videos from 2 "libraries" within Adobe Revel. Please help.

  • Storing Video files in SharePoint 2010

    Hello,
We are going to store video files in SharePoint 2010. In total, we may have about 6 GB of files in total in Asset Library. Is it too much? What is the best approach to keep video files in SharePoint? I planned to change upload size, because 50mb is not enough.
The largest file size will be 150 mb.
    Thanks

    + to Cameron
Maximum file size limit is 2GB per, however that doesnot mean sharepoint will handle it without issues.
I have seen request time out, for files even lesser than 50MB, it is again a big process of changing these settings in IIS and web.config.
You can plan to have smaller files, but better to keep less than 50MB. Even worse if you have enabled versioning to asset library, which will keep increasing everytime the same file is uploaded.
Auditing asset library periodically would also help to plan the growth, to an extent keep the library within few GBs and then plan store space requirement.
Deciding library size will be big process, we have MS suggest 200 GB limit for Content databases, this limit also we need to consider while planning library size
This link should help to get the limits -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262787(v=office.15).aspx#Limits
