Storing an HP printed in a hot storage faciity

I need to put this printer into storage for awhile, but it's in Florida and the storage unit is NOT climate controlled.  How dangerous is this for my printer?

What printer model?  How long is "a while" - a few weeks, a few months, a year?

  • Check if in Word document (Word 2013) advanced option "Use fonts that are stored on the printer" is set

Is it possible in a VBA macro to check whether an opened word document has the advanced option "Use fonts that are stored on the Printer" is set.
I have a word macro that opens and processes thousands of word documents.  The processing needs to be different based on whether this option is set or not.
    Thanks,

    Hi Harry,
I'm afraid that we're not able to retrieve this option value. The Advanced Options are actually stored as application level. Some of the options can be accessed with the Word.Application.Options property. But there're also many options that are not
exposed in the Word Object Model. As you can see in this figure, there's no property corresponding to "Use fonts that are stored on the printer":

  • To print transfer order and storage unit labels in lt31

    Hi SAP Gurus
1>Is it possible to print Transfer order and Labels simultaneously in tcode LT31(At a time when LT31 is executed
If yes please guide me the selection parameter in Tcode LT31 and if any configuration required in the background
2>Is it possible to print Transfer order and storage unit labels automatically when MIGO is posted.what are the settings required
My client raised a query that before he was able to print both once Migo is posted .But now only trnasfer orders is getting printed but not SU.
Requesting to help in this issues
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

you need to define the print control parameter in the customizing and whether you can print both(SU & TO) is depend on the print code which you specify in the setting under
    LE----WM---Activities-----Define print control
After MIGO are you transferring the stock to SU managed storage type , as per STANDARD SAP stock goes to 902 which is Non SU managed so here you need to tell us the flow and the storage type where stock goes after MIGO also is that storage type is SU managed or not

  • "Print Settings" are not stored in the print preset

    Hi everybody,
It seems that, no matter how many times i save and update the profile, all the print setting (image size, sharpening, bit depth, color management, ...) are store within the preset, all but the Epson Driver settings, which have to be selected every single time.
I really can't remember if this bug was present in 4.0 or not (I'm currently running 4.1 RC), but I'm quite sure it was working OK under 3.x. Here's the thing.
I configure the printing settings and create. a profile: Profile1.
I change all the settings and create a second profile: Profile2. The "Print Settings" settings are different, same printer, one for Color (Profile1), one for Advanced B&W (Profile2).
I click on Profile1 (which was created with color Print Settings). Clicking on "Print Settings" or "Print", the printer settings selected under the epson driver is the ABW one (the one that belongs to Profile2).
I reselect the correct setting from "Print Settings..." (Color).
    Click "Save" again.
Righ-t click on Profile1 -> Update with current Settings. Setting seems to be saved.
I then click on Profile2 and bam! The "Print Settings..." seems to be rverted to color instead of ABW.
Update the correct settings, back to point #3
Can you reproduce this? This behavior is vanishig the power of the "Print One" button, unless you constantly print with tha same Driver settings.
    Lightroom version: 4.1 RC [820174]
    Version: 10.7 [3]
    Application architecture: x64
    Physical processor count: 4
    Processor speed: 2,4 GHz
    Built-in memory: 8192,0 MB
Real memory available to Lightroom: 8192,0 MB
Real memory used by Lightroom: 2388,3 MB (29,1%)
Virtual memory used by Lightroom: 4759,6 MB
    Memory cache size: 866,7 MB
    Displays: 1) 2560x1440, 2) 1680x1050
Epson R3000, latest OS X Epson Drivers.

I may have resolved the issue.
The bug is there, because the name of the preset is kept as the last used, which is wrong.
If you revert to the default "Default Settings" Epson preset, and change all the parameters as you like, then click Save and update the Lightroom preset, the settings are stored correctly.
You'll have to check every preset (I have two dozens) and re-update with the new correct (or wrong?) Driver configurations, so that you could have faith again in the "Print One" button.

  • Printing Error - "not enough storage"

Cant seem to print any scanned in and edited photos. Always get an error message saying "not enough storage to complete this operation". It's driving me insane as I've spent ages getting all my photos onto this package! Could anyone help, in "non-techy terms" would be nice!! Thx

OK - so the picture is scanned in using SE - highest quality possible, colour photo. Edit picture accordingly (sharpening colour etc). Picture is cropped to size wanted. Then I click on the printer icon on the SE toolbar. Select size wanted (in this case 5" x 7") hit print/OK. Error message appears, photographic paper feeds through printer, comes out blank. This happens with every photo (not just the one) I try to print.
Just a point of interest - somehow I managed to print a picture off from another application that I had edited in SE, although it came out almost A4!!

  • What is stored in 7410 printer memory?

I am trying to understand two things. 1.) What is stored in the memory of the 7410 all in one; and 2.) does unplugging it clear the memory?.

The Officejet 7410 memory includes the number of pages printed, scanned and copied (but not any of the actual content).  There is also a fax log that contains information on what numbers have been called (or received from), the duration, the number of pages and the date.
You can clear the fax memory by resetting the printer - turn off the printer and unplug the power, then plug it back in while holding the # and 6 buttons in.  This will eventually indicate "Semi-full reset" on the screen, release the # and 6 buttins and press OK. After the reset you can press setup, 2, 3 to print a FAX report to verify there is no FAX information left.
If you are disposing of the printer make sure you also remove any memory cards inserted into the camera card slots in the front.

  • Storing integer as a bit to have storage management

I have this matrix(size:10x6000) which only stores integers 0 and 1 and what my program does is, it compares each row with all the other rows underneath it and do the XOR operation on the elements stored at the corresponding locations and as a result the new matrix i get may or maynot have more rows that were in the original matrix.

ANSWER: Using the int to store a Bit would definetly multiply the storage space by 16 times. Hence i would redomend you to use the Java.util.BitSet class .This would save a lot of space as it is specially designed to store bits. If you have any doubts - [email protected]

  • Storing signature in Printer memory and accessing it in the sapscript

    Hi Gurus ,
I have a requirement to upload signatures on to the printer memory (Its a HP 4250 printer for printing checks) and access the same to print them while printing the checks.
Please let me know the steps to achieve the following
    1) Uploading the signatures to the printer and in which format - how should this be done.
    2) How to acces the signatures in the printer in the sapscript form
    Thanks
    Rupendra

The only way that I know of that a signature can be stored directly on a printer is through the use of an add-on simm card.  Please look at OSS Note 18045, it references a company that will create a signature board for your printer.  One of the problems with this is that a new card has to be created if signatures change, we no longer use this method but use either RSTXLDMC to upload TIF images, or we use SE78.
    Thanks

  • Printing for long term storage

I'm in the process of writing a personal history.  It will consist of text and black & white and colour photos and reproductions of other documents.    I have both HP6122 & 5652 printers and use genuine HP cartridges.    I have a supply of acid & lignin free paper and intend to store the finished items in acid & lignin free binders.    Has anyone done something similar?   I'm interested in knowing whether the ink jet printing will last, or whether there is a better way.

You can save the scanned TIFF's to DNG from Adobe Camera RAW (and I think Lightroom too). You can't save TIFF's to DNG from the stand-a-lone DNG converter though.
People will say that the best thing to do is keep them as TIFF's, however I choose not to. Basically, all my original files are converted to DNG, whether they are RAW's from my DSLR, JPEG's from my compact camera, or TIFF's from my scanned negatives. The reason I do this is as follows:
Firstly, with the JPEG's and TIFF's, by converting them to DNG format means that I can't accidently overwrite the original during post processing (for example, imagine resizing an image for the web and accidently overwriting the original would be a nightmare).
Secondly, it means that I can easily identify each file by type. DNG's are always the original and TIFF's are always the full size edited file, with layers, etc. These are the only two you really need to keep, but I also keep smaller JPEG versions too, which I have converted for web/email/fast browsing use.
Thirdly, by converting RAW's and TIFF's to DNG, it lowers the file size of my originals. With JPEG's it increases the file size, but is not too much of a problem as this is way off-set by the savings of my scanned negatives (my negative scans are approx. 115MB each, but as DNG's they are approx 84MB).
TIFF is the number one archival format, but if your edited 'working' file is saved as a TIFF anyway, there is no need for the original to be too because it would just be more confusing, take up more space and create the potential to accidently over-write the original.
Also, if you open the images from Adobe Camera Raw into Photoshop as Smart Objects, you willl still have a version of the original in the TIFF file anyway, as it uses non destructive editing. So in 50 years time, you will have not only DNG versions, but also TIFF versions that can also be used as originals if need be.

  • Storing graphic images in a laser printer.

I want to store small graphic images (.gif, .jpeg, etc.) in the laser printer's memory and use PLC to pull the image onto a sheet to print. Has anyone done this? Need some direction.
    Thanks

You can't store images in the original source format (.gif, .jpg, etc.), but (assuming that the printer model in question supports the PCL5 Page Description Language) you can (using suitable software) convert these images to appropriate PCL-format raster or vector images, and embed these within PCL macros, which can be stored in the printer's RAM (or more permanently on a hard disk or other attached storage on more expensive models).

  • Best Storage Practice for Canon PIXMA MG5420 Printer?

    Hello,
My Canon PIXMA MG5420 Printer will be inactive for several weeks. What is the recommended best practice for preventing the ink cartridges and printhead from drying out and clogging due to inactivity?
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hello BSquared18,
The printer can be stored with the ink tanks and print head installed, make sure the printer is powered off properly so that the print head is capped. If you have print quality issue once the printer is out of storage, follow the steps listed HERE to perform a print head cleaning.

  • Add stored Job to rear of each print job

Hi there, I'm looking for thoughts on whether this is possible.
I'd like to store a simple print job in the printer and using a printer shortcut add it as page 2 of a single page print job I send to the printer.
The stored job would be our terms and conditions which I would like to print on the rear of the single page/sided invoices I send to the printer.
I have used workaround solutions such as:-
    1) pre-printing the T&Cs and stacking that in the printer
    2) adding the T&Cs as page 2 in the application and sending a duplex print job
but am hoping for a more elegant solution using the "stored job" and special pages" features of the print driver.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance
    Malcolm

As far as the printer is concerned, 'jobs' are exclusive entities, which means that they can't share the same sheet of paper.
i.e. when one job is finished, all media (paper) used by the job are flushed from the device before any other job is started.
What many third-party print products do (and have done for years) is to make use of PCL macros.
These are normally stored in the printer's RAM (and hence have to be downloaded to the device every time it is powered on), although on some of the more expensive printers, such macros can be loaded more permanently onto a hard disk within the device.
But the print job you send to the device needs to be able to select the macro(s), which effectively (as far as I'm aware) rules out standard Windows printer drivers.
i.e. you'd need to write your own print streams (without benefit of a driver), or make use of a third-party product which would do it for you; most such products are designed for particular types of output, and are not suitable for general -purpose printing.

  • Network printing slow after updating to Tiger, InDesign from OS 9 PageMaker

Sorry for the "old" OS talk, but this is "new" to this shop (a small newspaper). Long overdue, I upgraded our 8 G4s to Tiger from OS 9. They're all networked to a G5, where all files are stored (graphics mostly). This G5 was installed a year ago with Tiger and served as a file server, connected via Ethernet (and SharePoints), to the OS 9 Macs. The printer is a color copier, an Océ cm2520, and DID a great job printing tabloid pages from PageMaker 7. The pages are comprised of mostly ads saved as PDFs, and some text. The pages range in size from less than 1mb to upwards of 10mb. The printer has 500mb of storage plus a 40gb HD built-in.
With OS 9 & PageMaker, tabloid pages would come out in less than one minute, the largest might've taken 3-4 minutes (big graphics & color). Now, with Tiger & InDesign CS3, the same pages take at least 15 minutes apiece to print! And even much longer when more than one page is sent at a time. The spooling part goes very quickly, but the printer takes forever to process the jobs. Nothing else has changed other than the OS and ID CS3. I did reinstall the printer with the current-most driver but no difference. I tried PDFing the pages and printing those, and that cut the print time about in half, which is still way too long and not practical on a "production" day. Small ID files still print quickly, but these PDF-ridden tabloid pages are ridiculous.
I first thought it was ID, but now am wondering if it might have something to do with how/where print jobs are spooled in OSX. Can anyone shed some light on where print files go once the Print button is hit? Is there a secret cache/print queue that might need cleaning out? Do the spooled jobs reside on the sending Macs or on the file server? I can't imagine that this one-year-old Océ printer just went bad coincidentally at the same time as the software upgrades.
Thanks for any help with this problem!

With no insight whatsoever from the manufacturer of the copier, I reformatted the internal hard disk. Life is back to normal! Apparently these HDs get fragged just like any other, so a periodic reformatting may take care of sluggish performance. Either that or the original formatting of the internal HD wasn't "compatible" with OS X.
