Storing/editing Pages docs in the cloud

I want to keep my pages documents in the cloud to access and update them from different computers (i don't write on my iPhone or iPad). For some reason this doesn't seem intuitive, and I can't figure it out... Everything I read about this just talks about moving from a desktop to iOS devices, which I don't care about. I have Pages 09 on OSX10.7.4.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

To be able to use documents at iiCloud.com, you need at least one iOS device that uses the same account with at least one of the iWork apps installed. (Even if you only intend sharing them between your Macs)

Buy another hard drive. They're cheap these days.
In fact, buy a couple of 'em. I recommend a minimum of five internal hard drives.

How do I change the default program to open Pages docs to the old (4.3) version instead of the new one (5.0)? When I do what Apple said and go to a Pages file in finder and select "get info" then select "Pages 4.3" and "change all" it just defaults to the new one even though I'd selected the old one. Do I need to completely uninstall the new version of Pages or is there another work around because the new version of Pages comes dreadfully short of the features I need that are included in the old one?

Actually there is a workaround.
If you open the file in Pages 5, it can then be exported on Pages 0.9 format to another folder. I had to do this as the document was only in iCloud and couldn't be recoverd by Time Machine.

It has always been that the upgrade tries to be the "master" over the older version.
Anyway in Pages 09 you have probably the Comments field showing, making all contetn to move to the right.
Go to View menu > Hide Comments.

Numbers' docs in the cloud not available on iPad, but on iPhone...

Numbers' documents stored in the iCloud show up on my iPhone 4, but not on my iPad 3. Pages docs, however, do show up on both devices. So there is no general settings issue... Both devices run the most recent iOS, and none is jailbroken. And yes, Numbers' using iCloud is enabled, too, of course. It's absolutely weird... Even more weird is, I can create a new doc with Numbers on the iPad, it gets stored in iCloud, other devices have access, but once I leave Numbers on the iPad and open it again, the doc has vanished, of course still being available for all other devices because it is still stored in the cloud. So the issue simply is, Numbers on the iPad does not have access to the cloud. Again, Pages does, so no settings issue involved.
Anyone having the same problem, or even better, providing a solution for fixing it? Thanks, Joe

In case that iTunes in the cloud is available in your country, please check your hidden purchases. Maybe it's hidden by mistake.

Editing PDF documents in the cloud?

Say we have a PDF stored in the cloud that several people need to edit. All we want to do is add sticky notes. Is there any way to add sticky notes RIGHT THERE ONLINE (i.e., when you double-click and it comes up in a browser window), WITHOUT downloading the document?
I'd be willing to pay a premium in order to avoid having to download, edit, and re-upload each document.
Total newbie here--sorry if this has been treated elsewhere.

Ok, new (if somewhat related) question:
I had added a number of stickies, SIGNED THE DOCUMENT, and saved it to the cloud. Now I see that I shouldn't have signed and finalized the document, because I can no longer read the stickies I wrote.
Is there a way to un-sign, or un-finalize the document so that it can be edited again?

Is there any way to create or edit existing playlists in the Cloud?

As an example, all Beethoven symphonies should be in a playlist, in order by number. Is there a way to do this in the Cloud?

You should be able to create and edit playlists on iOS devices and in iTunes. Probably much quicker and easier on the computer, and I believe smart playlists can only be created in iTunes.

TS3991 A Pages document in the cloud corrupt - any chance of recovery?

I have been using Pages on my iPad with iCloud syncing enabled, it worked reasonably well for me until today. When I tried to access one of the documents on my Mac and download it from iCloud.com, I got a notice that there is some sort of version conflict and I should pick one of two possible versions to keep. I selected the more recent one, after which I received a message that the document can't be downloaded. I rushed back to my iPad to open the document and copy it somewhere, but alas, the change had already synced back to the iPad and now I can't access the document on the iPad as well. My last idea was to open Pages for Mac (which I have but rarely use, I'm more of a Word guy) to see if the document hadn't been saved there. The iCloud menu shows all of my documents, this time with file sizes as well, but the problematic one is only 2 KB in size (others are 20x bigger) and of course refuses to open. Something very bad happened to the document, I don't know how, but it was a very important document and if there's no way I can restore it, I'll get very mad at Apple and the whole iCloud "convenience". Is there any way to restore the document to its previous state?

I want to share my video edits with clients in the cloud but can't

I was under the impression I was able to easily share my video edits with clients for a simple seamless workflow. Upon trying this I learn that I am unable to share video files over the cloud. Why is this? and how can I do this? I know you use to be able to within premiere.
Does it need to be exported in a certain format or is it simply not supported to do this in the cloud.

What is the best option for storing my iphoto library on the cloud?

I was curious as to what people are doing (other than backing up to external HD) for backing up the iphoto library? Anyone using any cloud solution out there for storage? What are some of the best options? I have around 30,000 photos in my iphoto library.

There is no good solution for storing the Library in the Cloud. The amount of data involved means that uploading or downloading is very, very slow. We do see posts on here from people trying to restore from a back up to the Cloud wondering if it's possible to speed up the download currently estimated in days. Running a Library from the cloud is just painfully slow - people have tried it and that is the consensus.
However, as part of a comprehensive back up plan there is a lot to be said for backing up your Photos to the cloud. Not as good as backing up the whole Library, but as a "last line" you at least have your photos. There are many options: Flickr, Picasa, SmugMug etc. However, check the terms of your account carefully. While most sites have free uploading, you will often find that these uploads are limited in terms of the file size or the bandwidth you can use per month. For access that allows you to upload full size pics with no restrictions you may need to pay.

Can I recover a different version of a Pages document from the cloud?

I was on a phone interview for a class, taking notes in Pages. I lost internet connectivity during the interview. When I reconnected, I was given the option of choosing a version of my document, last updated either from my MacBook or from the cloud. I assumed the version on my MacBook would be the most recent and most complete, so I chose that version. Well, I was wrong. I lost my interview notes. I'm wondering if there is a way to recover the other version of my document or if I sent it into oblivion because I didn't select it.

No. I tried it on my Time Machine (I had just made one change today, so I knew I would not be left in the lurch if I failed) and when I clicked on restore I got this message:

My Docs In The Cloud Doesn't Work

My iCloud space is all freed up, (I have 3GB available) and all my files show on my iPad. But when I upload them to iCloud, it says its on iCloud, but when I look on my iPhone or my iMac, it doesn't show. It only shows the updated docs on my iPad, (which is the device I used to edit them). On the other devices, it only shows old docs that haven't been updated for a month.

Have you tried turning off Document and data syncing off and on again on your devices other than the iPad.

I do not see how to delete from the cloud.

Press the finger on the document name and move the finger to the left or right.

Please, can anyone help me? I have few documents that I can't open in the new version of page 5.2. I try to open them and I got this message: the doc.pages-tef can't be open. Help?

The tef file is an iCloud file.
Maybe turn it off for a while and do something else before restarting it to give it time to reset.

Can I open 09 pages docs with the new Pages?

I'm noticing that documents created with Pages 9 cannot be opened on the latest Pages since the Mavericks updates. Is this happening to others? Isn't it general protocol that older versions can be opened on newer version of programs?

I'm guessing that after opening a document with the new Pages 3.0, you may have inadvertently tried to open that document in the old version. To go back to the old verison requires that you export the document to the old format.
