Storing email on different partition

Hey Guys
I've just got my mac mini mail server up and running, I’m wondering if there is anyway of storing the email store on a different partition. What I did was when I installed the OS I partition one of the drives out so that one was for the OS and the other would be where I had the email store, but i can’t seem to figure out how to do it???
Cheers for any help

How do I delete stored email addresses in my iphone? When sending photos, I don't want to have certain email addresses  "popping up" from the internal memory, I've deleted my entire "Contact" list but they still appear.  Help please!

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which is separate from the address book or contacts. The email address autofill feature when addressing an message pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with iOS on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to the address book or contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge the list of previous recipients at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which will start being re-populated again with every sent message.

  • Bootcamp and OSX showing different Partitions

I had just restored from a backed up system image of Bootcamp. Previously, my bootcamp partition size was about 120+gig and my osx had everything else of 750g. Before I did a system restore, I removed Windows 7 using bootcamp assistant and then created a new one with 450g for bootcamp and 250+g for osx. I installed windows 7 like how I did before and did a system image restore when it was done. Now on the system recovery screen it asked to exclude disk for partition and I tried to exclude my single drive but I got an error saying I can't exclude the disk that backup was going to use so I just continued without excluding it.
I got to restore without any problems but when I opened "My Computer" I saw that the disk size was from my old bootcamp. When I checked OSX it was showing that the partition of 450g and 250g were intact except that the bootcamp drive is now "Untitled" rather than it saying Bootcamp.
Here's the link to the screenshots:
    OSX

    Windows:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v602/Xandman/OSX%20and%20Bootcamp/Win7Partitio n.jpg
    IMPORTANT:
When I was browsing from OSX to my bootcamp drive, I found out that the files on the drive were from the fresh install. There was no hint that I had restored my old system.
Logging in my Windows to post the screenshot of Disk Management.

It more like I don't know the process to resolve it. I have a back up of osx and windows image, Winclone only allows its own backup unless theres a way to include my winows image on their options. Once that's resolve I can probably buy camptune or just use Winclones method.
I had already bought winclone and I have already sent them an email regarding the issue of my windows image.
The different partitions on both OS is really boggling me though, and what makes it even more complicated is that the "Untitled" partition in Mountain Lion shows the contents of a fresh install not currently bootable and working windows.

  • How do I redirect  the "Documents" folder to a different partition?

I have a separate data partition on my 10.5.1 MacBook and I want all my user data to live there. How do I redirect the "Documents", "Desktop" and "Downloads" folders to a different partition?

As far as I know the desktop can't be assigned elsewhere. The others can be directed with the respective programs. I always keep my documents on another drive. I do it by using the saves as command and point to that directory. Then everything after that I can use there. For Downloads you just change it in preferences in Safari. Switch it in the *Save downloaded files to:* command.

  • Can i set up my drive as encrypted with different partitions for different versions of osx?

i have some questions about setting up an encrypted drive with different versions of osx installed on separate partitions, and how this choice effects time-machine and the emergency recovery disk.
I have a new/refurbished macbook pro with a SSD.  it already has mavericks installed.  i want to fully wipe the drive and reinstall everything my self because I'm odd like that.
    first wiping the current drive
Does the recovery partition get wiped if i use disk-utility to reformat the drive. Even thought the recovery partition does not show up as a partition, when i look at it with disk-utility? i would like to know I've wiped all partitions so that no little bugger gets left with out me knowing. Disk-utility does not show the recovery partition and this makes me concerned it might not wipe it.
Does mavericks automatically make a recovery partition during the installation process? Or do i need to make a new 1gb partition for the recovery disk?
Can i have two different partitions on my drive with separate installations of OSX on it? (one for work that i don't update the system os till my current project is done, and the other for experimenting with new software.)
will time machine back up both of the partitions or just one?
can i accomplish all this from a bootable usb drive or do i need to do this in target disk mode?
do i need to use a more capable utility than the stock apple "disk-utility"?
when reformatting the drive should i format it as encrypted or let file vault do this after i install mavericks?
how much does encryption slow down performance for things like photo/video/music production?

Do a backup before you do anything.
Does the recovery partition get wiped if i use disk-utility to reformat the drive
    It shouldn't
Does mavericks automatically make a recovery partition during the installation process?
    Yes.
Can i have two different partitions on my drive with separate installations of OSX on it?
    Yes.
will time machine back up both of the partitions or just one?
It will as long as one partition is not excluded in the Time Machine/Options.
do i need to use a more capable utility than the stock apple "disk-utility"?
No, just boot into the Recovery Volume (command  - R on a restart).
file vault do this after i install mavericks?
I would let File Vault do that.

  • Issue in storing email & attachments in to content repository server.

    Hi  All,
We have done the following for storing email & attachments in to
    content repository server.
    Transaction - Activity done
    1) OAC0 - Defined the content repository folder RQ
    2) OACT - Created a category( ZSOFFHTTP1) and associated it to RQ
    3) SKPR08 - Associated ZSOFFHTTP1 to SAP OFFICE Class SOFFPHIO
Also, updated the entry in the table SDOKPHCL against the record having
Docuclass value as SOFFPHIO and change the category value to ZSOFFHTTP1.
Now, we went to transaction SBWP and created a test message and sent
an email to ( recepient address) and recip type as
    interent address.
But when we cross checked the entry in SOOD table for this email sent
today, we find that the value in the field is 'K' and not "A".
We have done all the steps as per the SAP Note 530792 still the issue
    persists.
As per the sap note 904711,SOOD-EXTCT Storage <space> directly in table

    A in an archive
Any help on this , would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for the answer, but my question was whether it is possible to store documents to an external content server using transaction OAOR (Business Document Navigator). Right now it is only possible to store documents to the R3 database with OAOR.

  • 2 Different Partition Map Scheme's for one external hard drive

Is it possible to have one external hard drive with 2 different Partition Map Scheme's?
One of them will be used to externally boot tiger on a powerpc, and the other for use on my macbook pro?

And this drive is currently not partitioned I take it ?
You need to make a backup of the data on the drive then partition it, the first partition must be set under Disc Utility / Partition / Options as Mac GUI Bootable so it installs the drivers, then install Tiger onto the first partition and move your current data back onto the second one.
You will then be able to Boot Tiger on the older PowerBook by holding down 'option' at start up, if you just have it connected to the MacBook Pro and start up normally then it will appear as two volumes on your Desktop, the Tiger Boot Volume and your Data Volume.

  • Path to stored emails?

Does anyone here know the path to stored emails, and email accts on S60 9.2 devices? I have an old account that just won't delete all the way.

Your right!! I tried it and maps does work. Now to see if I can get all of this other software i bought handled. Sure is a pain in the though. I thought these devices were suppose to make things easier and save time. All this sure hasn't been swift, and seems rather silly. I appricate the info though. Thanks Rather than marked this solved, I will leave it open to see if anyone can help with the root issue.

  • Can I add more  files under my accounts on my ipad2 in email so I can store my emails under different files.

I would like to save some of my emails under different files on my ipad2 like I can on my IMac.  Can I do this and how.  Thank you for you time.

I am assuming what you want to do is add folders to store your emails.  Assuming your email account is a Pop3 account, there is no way I know of to do it.  If it's an account like Yahoo or Googlemail, you can log into that account and create folders, which will then replicate on your iPad.

  • OS X Maverick and OS X 10.4 on different partition

My iMac came with OS 10.6.8. I have upgraded it to Maverick. I would like to partition the harddisk and install OS X 10.4. and maintain Maverick in another. Is it compatible ?
I did find lots of suggestion that it is almost impossible to downgrade to the version lower than the bundled one. But my idea is to maintain new one and install an very old one, but on different partitions.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • MWI for extensions in different partition

    Hello,
We are working on an IPCCx implementation and currently have the ICD controlled line in a different partition. The partition also contains the CTI Ports. The calling search space of the line is set to our standard search space for our office. Everything has worked well until I was told that management want the ICD line to show a message waiting when there is a message in the group mailbox. Our voicemail system is integrated with our Nortel PBX and we have 2 QSIG T1?s between the PBX and our 2851 Voice Gateway. MWI is working fine but I can?t figure out a good way to allow MWI to those extensions and at the same time, prevent anyone from calling them. I have the MWI on and off extensions defined for that partition/CSS.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestion. The only problem I have with doing that is it will allow clients with Nortel Phones to dial the IPCC extensions directly.
I tried using a route filter then found that it only works with the @ route pattern.
From the sounds of it, I don't think I'll be able to limit that access to strickly MWI will I?

  • [SOLVED] Just got my Arch! Can /home be moved to different partition?

Hello everybody, after three days of work I've finally got my Arch running correctly, and I'm very thrilled about moving on and use it on a regular basis.
Now I have a doubt: during installation I selected to install home in the same partition as file sistem, because I have a home partition for Ubuntu and Fedora and was unsure if setting it would simply create a new folder for Arch, or it would be automatically formatted, which would have meant the destuction of all my data. That means all Arch data is inside the same partition.
So, question is, is there any way to move to that home partition now?

I don't know how many times I have seen this problem - and the solution is oh so easy ...
Forget about /home as such - make it just part of the root filesystem and don't put any data in there.
Instead - mount /myhome  (or whatever you want to call it) on a partition on its own and have all of your users (ie all the usernames you use) rwx-access to it - use it as your 'real' home.
This way, you don't have the clutter of dot-files/directories if you should have more than one distro. To use a common /home for more than one distro is a big fallacy (at least in _my_ eyes) unless you make sure that uid and gid is the same (which is seldom the case if you're a newbie - old hands know better!)
Even if you have the same uid/gid - the dot-files may not be completely compatible and you're heading for troubles.
Another advantage - you can replace a distro with some other distro without thinking twice about it - your 'real' home is safe.
Oh - and while I'm at it.
Why all the different partitions for each distro? (/var, /usr, /home etc). That is OK if you only use one distro - the second you try to install another one you will be heading for troubles.
Just use the root filesystem and give it 20 gigs - 20 gigs for each distro and you will not have any problems - ever (almost). Hey - in these days of terabyte disks for $50, what's the problem?
Then - a final /myhome as a common home partition for all distros.
Another 'mistake' I often see is playing around with different filesystems, trying to wring the last ounce of effort out of a poor diskdrive. Make a /testing partition and experiment to your heart's content with all kind of weird and wonderful filesystem, but keep the root filesystem and your /myhome safe. ext3 and/or reiserfs are excellent filesystems and have been so for years - they are as safe as the bank. ext4 is getting there.
    Just my 2c worth ...

  • /tmp on different partition [quesiton on size and filesystem type]

    Hi,
This is my partition schema (in mind, still have to apply and go ahead for the installation process)
    /home   xfs
    /        ext4
    /var    reiserfs
    /tmp    ??
    /boot   ext2   primary
    windows   primary
Now, I want also a primary partition for windows.
    The /tmp question is,
what size and what filesystem should I choose during the partitioning procedure?
The reason why on a different partition ?
I use Lynis and want to get a higher score
I never understood how to encrypt the hole thing during the installation, and I want to know also if it's good to install windows first and than linux? so the MBR gets overwrited or the opposite?

I would use LVM on top of LUKS. The wiki will get you started in the right direction but mostly addresses putting everything on one encrypted partition (no LVM). Basically, you need to encrypt a partition with LUKS and then partition that encrypted partition with LVM.
