Storing of MSDS in SAP Content Server - Part2

Hi Friends,
I already raised this issue in link given below.
Storing of MSDS in SAP Content Server
Ealier I did not tried this as we did not received the hardaware,
Now I did configuration as per the note  " 1408009 - Settings for EH&S Product Safety documents" for SAP EHS document Type.
But when I try to generate report, its giving me error as given below.
Check Document Type SBR
Internal error in function C14SX_DOCUMENT_ORIGINAL_PUT (exception 0)
Saving document data has failed
Error while checking in and storing: report.rtf
Can you guys help me if any more configurations are needed or am I missing something. The content Server is of OpenText and not SAP Content Server.
Thanks.
With Warm Regards
Mangesh Pande

HI Mangesh,
Try to figure out if it is only DMS related - or if it is something wrong with the EH&S part of the setup:
Create an SBR Document manually via CV01n.
If this fails - at least the DMS Setup is wrong.
If this works - DMS settings should be fine and the problem is on EH&S side.
Check the Application log for errors as well - there might be more details in there.

  • Checkout and editing of original files to a DIR stored in SAP content server

    Hi,
is it possible with SAP Web Documents to checkout and edit original files from a document info record that are stored in a SAP Content Server and save the changes back to the SAP Content Server?
    Kind regards
    Florian Wiedemann

    Hi,
unfortunately it's not that easy. Mobile Documents provides with NW ABAP 7.40 SP10 an API which, if you implement it, allows you to expose data from basically any ABAP system. Currently the API only provides read support, but we are already working on enabling write and versioning support also.
If you are interested there is an Expert Session next week on Wednesday the 17th which explains how to get your Data to SAP Mobile Documents.
Here are the details: SAP Mobile Documents - Webinars

  • Storing Documents on SAP Content Server

    Dear Support,
We are configured the ERP 2005 server to store the attachments onto the SAP Content Server.
Unfortunately, the attachments are not storing on the content server . don't know where they were storing.
We have configure the system using the OAC0 and OAC2, and OAC3 to use the "S1"  repository. The repository conected to the SAP Content Server over HTTP connection and the connection test is successful.
We have also, configured and exchanged the tickets with SAP Content server and the SAP ERP 2005 system.
Kindly let us know the issue...

  • Sap Content server Direct Browser Access - docGet

We use SAP Content Server for DMS doc storage. Docs are stored without digital signing.
I am looking to access dms original files directly via web browser using the "docGet" command.
    My url looks as shown:
    http://pswdf009:1080/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?docGet&pVersion=0045&contRep=K1&docId=361A524A3ECB5459E0000800099245EC
When I call the url, browser does not seem to be able to read the file type of the server response. An "open/save" dialog appears and when "open" is selected a subsequent dialog appears asking which application to use to open the file. Once the correct application is chosen, the document is displayed correctly.
Is there some way to instruct the browser the content-type is application/pdf?
Will CSAdmin parameter changes have any impact?
The browser is Internet Explorer 6.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Roger

    Hi Roger,
you may of course find an answer here.
But mySAP PLM DMS is not a focus topic here (besides maybe connecting it into the SAP Portal and KM). Thus, you may be better off using a contact or a message to PLM.

  • Document Migration from CRM to SAP Content Server

We are going live with SAP CRM 7.0 next week. CRM team configured some of applications like ITSM, Change Request Management and Transport Request database also as part of implementation.
We got last minute requirement that CRM team would like to go-live with current configuration with current configuration and eventually they would like to migrate all documents to Content server.
We do not have content server in place yet and planning to implement sometime in Feb.  I am trying to explore ways how we can export existing documents created in CRM and migrate to Content server and link it.
    Any ideas/Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Miral.

In which repository are the documents currently stored in CRM? Please see if Note 688241 on 'Relocating large SAP Content Server Repositories' could be of any assistance to you.

  • Role of MaxDb in SAP content server

    Hello experts,
We have already gone through the content server documents.
We are not yet clear with role of MaxDb database in SAP content sever.
Is it prerequisite to install MaxDb for SAP content server?(eventhough documents has to be store in file system)
We Want to perform document archiving, for this reason we want to store documents in File system.
So in this scenario where will be the meta data stored?

    Hi Akshay,
You can check the installation guide, you can install Content server without maxdb on a separate server and it will use the storage (File system) of that server to store the documents.
As far as I know, the meta data is stored on the file system(if Maxdb not used) or on Maxdb and the header is stored on the SAP side.
For installation without maxdb, you can check the below link

  • Webi Hyperlink to SAP Content Server

    Hi folks,
    My customer is trying to use a hyperlink;
    http://opentext.samca.net:8080/archive?get&pVersion=0045&contRep=D1&docId=4945274BD42AD25FE10000000AC819E6
in his Webi report to launch a document stored on his SAP Content Server.
However the url will not parse in Webi because the u2018HTTP ver 4.5 for  Content Serveru2019  expects  a method as a first parameter, whilst in standard HTTP protocol the option of passing a parameter is not covered.
Is there any way around this, the url above has to be specified this way to comply with the SAP Content Server?
    Kind regards,
    John

    John,
    In WebI:
Drag and Drop: Free-standing cell, Blank cell, in that paste the URL. And change cell properties of "Read Cell content as" -- Hyperlink.
    Thank You!!

  • SAP Content Server sizing for DMS

    Hi
Can anyone advise on the most appropriate way to 'size' for a new Content Server. Documents have been stored in the SAP DB till now, but the use is increasing, so now a new Content Server is to be added and all existing documents migrated into it. I have seen references in the past to SAP methodology for sizing the content server, but now cant find any.
    Thanks

    Dear John
Please find these links on how to do SAP content Server sizing.

  • How to archive data which is in sap content server

    Hi Experts,
We are facing issue with data stored in content server. With the time the data which is in content server is increasing and reaching the size limitation of content server. We want to archive data which is already present in content server.
Is there any stategy for this and how we can archive the data which is already inside sap content server.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Ajay,
It really helps to ansewer some of my questions.
I would like to ask some more information for content server to you. As you said content server will allow to increase the database size upto 64TB and advise for the either of the 2 activiteis.
    1. If I shift the data which is old to some other storage, should that storage device be connected to content server.
e.g If I have decided to store data on some file system I have to connect file system with the content server with the specific driver for file system.
    2. Next you said to install new content server, but as I know content server provide us the facility to connect to various instances of database system if one of the instance reaches its limit of 64 TB, so would it be good to install some other instances of database or the new sap conent server.
    3. Which storage media (File system and Instance of Database) is prefferable in terms of cost and security to enhance the scalability of content server.
    Thanks.

  • How to Access data from SAP Content Server through SAP Portal

    Hi Experts,
I want to aceess the data from SAP Content server through portal. Currently I am working on LSO business package. The SAP content server should work like Webdav as we uses KM as webdav.
I am trying to use this URL into the CMS address but it is not working
    http://XXX-XXX-XXXX:1090/ConTentServer/ContentServer.dll?adminContRep&operation=docIdList&contRep=ZADGAS_LSO
Is there any other procedure for acceesing the DATA  from SAP content server. ?
    Thanks,
    Ahmad

If your Content Server is being used by DMS, then you can use the DMS Connector for KM.  This connector allows all documents stored in DMS to be accessed in Portal as if they are stored in KM.  For more info see this:

  • WebDAV Access: SAP Content Server

    Hello everyone,
I would like to use SAP Content Server to store the courses created in LSO Authoring Environment. (Client wants it this way...i have no clue why). Now in order to use SAP Content Server here, the content server must support WebDAV access. So does the content server support WebDAV, if yes -- how to enable it and how to browse it.
    Thanks,
    GLM

If the documents are stored in DMS with Content Server as the repository, you should be able to access them using the DMS connector to KM.  This is a business package which, when installed, exposes document stored in DMS to KM as a KM repository.  Then you can browse it like any other KM repository.  There are a lot of posts in this forum and others about the DMS connector.
You can also try to enable WebDAV if you Content Server is using a MaxDB database.

  • SAP Content Server Size Limitations

    Hi,
Has SAP Content Server any limitations regarding the amount of information to be stored ?.
We have a 160 Gb/ year data to be stored and we doubt to use the SAP content Server or some other content server ( IXOS, Documetum ... ).
    Best Regards,
    Francisco.

    Hi,
I don't think there would be any sizing restrictions:
I found some SAP Notes at this link:

You might want to check this note if you are using UNIX:

  • View contents of SAP Content Server

    Hi all,
We have successfully installed and configured SAP Content Server - the storage system is database. From a separate test system, we use archivelink to send an image to the content server. As per the logs, the image was successfully sent to the content server. Is there any method we can use to check whether the image is indeed stored on the content server? We use Database Studio to do administration on the MaxDB database of the content server but it does not provide any facility for viewing the contents. Please suggest how can the image or any other data be viewed.
    regards.

    Hi Gagan,
Thanks for your reply. Your suggestion will indeed confirm whether the image is present on the content server or not. However, I want to know whether there's some way we can 'see' the image on the content server. I downloaded another tool called SQL Studio. There you can browse the tables/indexes/synonyms, run queries etc but I'm not able to know which are the relevant tables I need to look into. There should be a table that must be keeping the image or at least a record concerning the image.
    Any other suggestion.....
    regards
