Storing Pictures on iPod Mini

I have no idea if this can be done, but I really don't want to drag my laptop on a vacation.
I have an iPod mini and a Canon PowerShot A530. Is there anyway I can import pictures directly from the camera to the iPod? I want to free up my memory cards.
The answer is probably no, but it was worth asking.
Thanks!

Yep you're right, the answer is no.

  • Help finding specs stored on my ipod mini....

I sent in my ipod mini in February for a replacement battery. They gave me a new one, with a three month warranty. Six months have gone by, and the battery seems to already be dying. It says it has half-life in the indicator, but suddenly the message "Low battery connect to charger" pops up, and that's it. It dies. When I'm able to restart, the battery indicator is empty.
I know the genius bar people were able to find the information on the ipod to determine the age/use of the battery from its menu, but I can't seem to find that information when I do a forum search. I'm just trying to see how old this thing was.
I'm loathe to drop another $70 on stuff with obsolete or defective batteries in it.
    Thanks!

  • Unable to remove stored pictures from iPod

OK, I hope someone can help me... I stored all of my vacation pictures on my iPod (as I have done before with no problem). When I open my iPod on my computer to see the folders, the DCIM folder contains nothing (this is where my photos have gone in the past), but when I try importing them through iPhoto I can get them (much relief when I discovered this). However, I took a few videos with my digital camera which will not show up in iPhoto. Any ideas on how I can get those off my iPod? Thanks!! btw, I have a 15gb iPod (with the four buttons).

If they're bundled apps - the ones that came on the device - then you cannot delete them.
If it's not a bundled app, go into settings, restrictions and see if deleting apps has been turned off. If so, turn it on and you should be able to delete them.

  • Used space, nothing stored in my ipod mini

I had to reset my mini, so it would show up on my computer...now when I try to update, it says there are 3 GB of used space, but nothing in my library or on the ipod. What did I do wrong?

    Heather,
I don't think you did anything wrong, it's just one of those odd software glitches that crop up from time to time.
Restoring the iPod to factory settings should cure it.

  • Can I use Ipod Mini to my TV to see the pictures

I stored some Pictures in my IPod Mini[4GB] and i want to see those photos in MY TV inorder to show to my friends..
actually I purchased for that one purpose only
so can any one tell me how can i see the pictures in TV ..
and what should i need and what should i do?

Yes, you can STORE pictures and/or video files on your mini. That's all you can do with them though - store them. This is so you can move them from your computer to another computer, but while they're on your iPod, there's really nothing you can do with them.
The firmware in the mini simply does not have any capabilities to process the files to output to a tv.
The iPods with color displays are able to display photos (not video) on a tv, but not the mini or any iPod without a color display.

  • My husband recently tried to sync my ipod to itunes and in the process he managed to loose all the photos I had stored on the ipod.  When I go to my pictures folder on my (Dell) laptop there is now a folder called ipod photo cache.  How do I view?

My husband recently tried to sync my ipod to itunes and in the process he managed to loose all the photos I had stored on the ipod.  When I go to my pictures folder on my (Dell) laptop there is now a folder called ipod photo cache.  How do I view these files? They are now show as ITHMB files!

Those photos taken or bumped photos should bi in the iPod's Camera Roll album
    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. Note however, that the the backup that had the photos may have been overwritten by a subsequent backup that did hot have the photos on the iPod.See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    - Have you looked on the computer? Maybe they were imported to the computer and then deleted from the iPod. Since the photos were not synced to the iPod they are not in the iPod Photo Cache folder .

  • Can iPod minis play movies- and can you put pictures on them?

Hi everyone, I updated my ipod recently and I was wondering if i can download pictures and movies on my ipod mini. I tried cheking on the official site for info on the mini but there wasn't anything. Also in the movies section they didn't mention if ipod minis are compatible with it or not.
I'm really confused because my friend said i should be able to download my pictures on to it, but i don't even think my mini has colour.
If anyone can answer my questions it would be great! thanks, topaz

The iPod Mini won't display photos or play video of any kind. The replacement for the Mini was the iPod Nano which has a colour display and will show photos which is possibly where the confusion had arisen. The second generation iPod Nano also has the wrap around aluminium body and comes in colours the way the iPod Mini did, in effect a mini Mini: Identifying different iPod models

  • Wall Charger Picture on My Ipod Mini Screen

After selecting to restore my ipod mini, the program instructed me to plug in the ipod using a wall charger. I plugged in the ipod using the charger and now the ipod just shows a picture of the wall charher on the screen.
I think the charger might be bad, even though it is new. My ipod charges when plugged into my computer; however, now my computer will not acknowledge the ipod until the restore is completed. Any ideas.
    Thanks

I had the same problem with the AC adapter icon never going off ,even when I had it plugged into the wall. I took it to Circuit City (they had a free clinic this week.) They tried everything too, as a last resort they plugged it in using a firewire. That did the trick, fixed it. I think they sell firewires for around $30. Hope this helps.

  • IPod mini 6GB not recognized by PC or iTunes

I am unable to get my daughter's iPod mini 6GB to be recognized on any of our three PCs or laptop. The iPod has been working fine with all of them the past 1.5 years. All PCs are running Windows XP SP2.
Initially, the iPod appeared to be dead, but through a Reset I was able to get it recovered. But plugging the iPod into a USB port on any PC does not bring it up on the PC. Windows Explorer, Device Manager, Disk Management, and iTunes do not know of the existence of the iPod.
But, the iPod's charging symbol is on and animated when plugged into a USB port. The iPod can be turned on, and what music is stored on it can be played and heard. All of the iPod buttons appears to be working normally.
If this were a PC device, I would reformat/wipe the drive and restart, but since none of our PCs recognize the iPod, I can't do that. Would a bad USB cable allow the iPod to charge, but not to be recognized?

I should add a couple of more bits of information. While the iPod was charging, the "Do not disconnect" message was not being displayed. Since the PC can't lock onto the iPod, this message does not show up ...
... that is until a few minutes ago. While leaving the iPod to charge on the USB port, I picked it up to see if I could open it. I was looking at the front left corner where it is slightly dinged (she has not babied this iPod!), I noticed the screen changed and the "Do not disconnect" message shows up.
I glance over at the PC, and sure enough, I see two icons in the system tray, one for "new hardware" and the other for the mounting of USB devices. I go to Windows Explorer and now see the drive linked. I enter iTunes and it recognizes the iPod (it also wanted to install iPod software v1.4.1, which I declined at this time).
Any guesses as to what's going on? Short in the USB cable? Short in the iPod? Not enough battery power in the iPod for the PC to recognize it, yet enough to play its music? I'm confused and not sure what to do next.

  • Formatted ipod mini - PLEASE HELP

I formatted my ipod mini and now the only thing I get on the screen is a picture of a "folder" with a "hazzard" sign and the url: www.apple.com/support/ipod. A lot of good that's done me.
So now in essence it's acting like a removable HDD and nothing more.
I don't need to update the ipod because the updater tells me i have the latest software (1.4) on the ipod and when i try to restore the ipod i get the message "Firmware update failure. Disk write error"
I did manage to get the ipod up in itunes and uploaded a few songs onto the ipod but as soon as it was disconnected the picture of a "folder" with a "hazzard" sign and the url: www.apple.com/support/ipod came back up on screen and it still won't restore the ipod.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciacted.

  • Ipod mini troubles: Help Needed

I really need help with ipod mini troubleshooting..
I've had my Ipod mini for about 3 years now and lately have been running into a few problems.
    In the past few months:
-My Ipod's "battery meter" has been acting really strange, one second it may be reading as 3/4 full, and the next it shuts down saying that my battery has depleted, then a few minutes later it will be reading full again. And just to let you know, I always charge it overnight to avoid having a dead battery, and I always make sure to properly shut it off using "hold".
Resetting my ipod works sometimes, but other times doesn't..
    Yesterday:
My Ipod is no longer responding at all, and I'm pretty sure I know why: Some careless person spilled some water near and on my ipod, I dried it off as soon as I could. It was working properly shortly afterwards, but a few hours later, it shut off saying that the battery was dead again, and a picture of a "cartoon ipod" with dead eyes("XX") appeared on my screen, and it said under the picture to go to "www.apple/support/ipod". This was when it wasn't connected to a power source. When I connected my ipod to my computer via USB, my itunes does not recognize that it is connected ("Do not disconnect" does not appear on my ipod) and a picture of a "dead battery" has appeared on my screen, it is not in the "recharging mode" either (with the picture of the battery moving).
I tried re-setting it numourous times, and always end up with either the "dead battery" picture, or the "dead cartoon ipod" picture on it.
Help would be greatly appreciated, as I use my ipod everyday for school and leisure.
    Thanks.

I've tried that several times without luck.

  • IPod mini doesn't connect in Windows after doing an Update

    Please help!
I promised to put some music om my friend's iPod (1st generation) from my computer. When I connected it with my computer, i first did a new update. After that the problems began!! After completing the update the ipod showed a picure of an adapter, so i connected the iPod (2 days ago) to the adapter. But now, after reading of the internet about updating a 1st generation iPod, the logo still shows on the screen!! When i disconnect the iPod, it doesn't respond on anything but a reset, but when i reset it, i still get the picture of an adapter on the screen!!
I've tried all the 'solutions' that are written on the Apple website, but they didn't help. And i still can't RESTORE the iPod, because my computer doesn't recognize the iPod anymore AT ALL!!
My own iPod (2e generation) still works on Windows and is recognized everytime, but after the update my friend's iPod just doesn't get recognized on my computer!!
Can somebody please help me to get a solution for this problem?!

  • To big Itunes library for my Ipod mini

I've got a problem. I just bought my Ipod mini and I'm a novice so I wonder if you need to create a "Library selection" as Itunes suggest when I plug my Ipod in to the computer? I thought I just might create playlists and ad them to my Ipod. My problem is that I haven't figured out how to get the playlists on to my Ipod.
    Please Help me...

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
    The option to
i Automatically update selected playlists only
on your iPod is one of it's least documented features.
Fortunately, it's fairly straightforward when you make your way to the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > iPod tab.
There's a picture of what to expect towards the bottom of this page .
    Any further questions, post back.

  • Ipod Mini generation 2 sync with ipod nano

I have an older version of i podmini generation 2 that i am uable to sync with the songs from my new ipod nano. The battery from my old mini is dead and instead of sending it in ... i receievd the new nano for X-mas.But now i can not add the song list from my old ipod to the new old .I have purchased a new Labtop since i got the first mini and never added the playlist to my new computer untill i received this new ipod. Does that have anything to do with the issue? sO MY QUESTION IS ... THERE ANY WAY TO ADD THE SONG LIST FROM MY OLD IPOD TO MY MY NEW IPOD?

In order to sync the songs that are on your old iPod Mini to your new Nano, they need to be imported and stored in your iTunes library first.

  • IPod mini coming up with all kinds of errors!

My iPod mini (2nd Gen) was working perfectly fine until a couple of days ago when it refused to be updated and in the end I restored it. However, resorting it seemed to make no difference, the iPod once updated about 72MB of music but after that had an error and stopped. Now when I plug in my iPod I get the this error message:
iPod cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-48).
itunes then attempts to sync it anyway, then comes up with the error again.
iTunes then says it is updating the files on my ipod. It updates a certain amount then stops, but no error message comes up. The ipod page says it has 3G of music on it.. but I have 4G of music that should have been put on it. When you click the arrow next to the ipod's name on the menu and click on a play list you can see the names of some songs in there, but not all of them. When I disconnect my ipod and go to play something I find there are no songs on it and no play lists. It still charges fine when it's connected to the computer.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?
