Storing Presentation Services userid/password in browser

What is the configuration file option that allows a user's Presentation Services password to be stored in the browser? I'm using IE7 under XP Professional. My browser content options are set correctly, but IE is not prompting me to save this password when I log in to Presentation Services. IE does prompt me to save the password for other websites.

I figured it out. The first time I log in as a particular user, I'm prompted to store the password. If I say NO, then IE will not ask me to store the password for that user again. If I enter a previously unused user ID, it does prompt me. The quick solution was to remove all passwords stored in the browser (Tools ... Internet Options ... General Tab ... Delete ... Delete Passwords). Now, I'd rather say "hey, forget what I told you before about user ABC123, let me store a password for that user now". But I've got other things to do, so I'll just junk the passwords and move on with my life.

How can we hide the userid, password and connectionstring from the address bar of explorer when we run 9i forms on browser

Ok - I have 9.0.4 and I want to disable this hiding of password, as I have the follwing problem: Forms creates a temporary local file which contains javascript. Per default in xp service pack 2 it is not allowed to run javascript from local file. Is there any parameter in webforms.cfg to disabel the creation of this temporary file?

  • Convert a web service which has userid/password hard coded......

    Hi,
We have created a web service in our ECC 5.0 abap system. In SICF we hardcoded the userid/password, the web service works fine and can be called successfully to read the required data from SAP.
Now we wish to change the process so that the users calling the web service have to pass their userid/password, now things don't work!!
How do we change things around to the new format?
Options we are considering are as follows:
    1) Change the function module so that it has import parameters of userid and password (don't think this will work!)
    2) Somehow update the wsdl file so that it includes userid/password, is this possible?
    3) SICF/wsconfig/wsadmin config, but don't know what to do though!!
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks.

    > Now we wish to change the process so that the users calling the web service have to pass their userid/password
    1. Do you want to have authorize access to webservice or,
    2. do you want to user supply user/password as a parameter within service.
for 1st you don't have to do anything just goto SOAMANAGER transaction and select basic http authentication for service endpoint. Every user who want to access (even url of wsdl) need to supply user/password.
for 2nd option you can integrate user/password field in FM but you need to include code which check and confirm if they are valid credential.

  • "Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services"

    Hi,
I have installed obiee11.1.1.5 on windows 7 and i am using Firefox 12.0 latest version. When I am trying to open analytics through firefox12.0 i am getting warning like “Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services” and it is opening in IE but charts are not displayed. Can any one tell me the solution for this?
Edited by: Uma on Apr 26, 2012 5:24 AM

    Hi Uma,
good that your issue is resolved. we are generally modifying/adding the header to override the existing version to previous version, so instead of using the FF10+ header we are just modifying it to FF9 inorder to make it work
The UA string of Firefox itself is broken down into four components:
    Mozilla/5.0 (platform; rv:geckoversion) Gecko/geckotrail Firefox/firefoxversion
Mozilla/5.0 is the general token that says the browser is Mozilla compatible, and is common to almost every browser today.
platform describes the native platform the browser is running on (e.g. Windows, Mac, or Linux). Note that platform can consist of multiple "; "-separated tokens. See below for further details and examples.
rv:geckoversion indicates the release version of Gecko (such as "10.0"). From Firefox 5.0 and Gecko 5.0 onwards, geckoversion is the same as firefoxversion (described below).
Gecko/geckotrail indicates that the browser is based on Gecko. geckotrail is "20100101" in desktop release builds and does not represent the actual build date of the browser. For desktop development builds, geckotrail presently indicates the build date of the browser, but this is likely to change in the future. Starting February 1st 2012, geckotrail is the same as geckoversion and firefoxversion in Firefox for Android with a native front end (aka. Fennec Native).
Firefox/firefoxversion indicates the browser is Firefox, and provides the version (such as "11.0").
    Thanks,

    Hi All,

    Installation is 88% completed with,
Executing : opmnctl start coreapplication_obiccs1 and Executing: opmnctl start coreapplication_obips1 failed. Came to know that this is related to clusters and ignored the error.
RCU is installed in different database server.
Now i am trying to login to presentation services with weblogic as userid and password that i had given during installation of obi.
I am getting error that userid or password is invalid...
One thing i came to know from the thread OBIEE 11g Cluster Controller Failed to start is,
i have a bad IP in /etc/hosts... below are the entries in the file... can anyone please tell me what necessary changes i should do?

    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one

    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual

  • Unable to open dashboards in presentation services

    Hi All,
I have recently installed BI applications in my system. After installtion I am unable to open dashboards.Answers and delivers all the others are working fine.
When I click on the dashboard link it is giving the following error
"access denied for user to path /users/administrator/_portal.
    Error Details
    Error Codes: O9XNZMXB".
    Thank You

    Hi ,
I could't able to solve my problem after going through the above post.
I Want to login into Presentation services using paint/paint as userid & pwd, but it is throwing me following error.
    " Unable to Log In
Error connecting to the Oracle BI Server: The specified ODBC DSN is referencing a subject area that no longer exists within the Oracle BI Repository.
    Error Details
    Error Codes: WH4KCFW6:OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW).
State: 08004. Code: 10018. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: 08004] [nQSError: 10018] Access for the requested connection is refused. [nQSError: 43037] Invalid catalog, Sales - Order Lines, specified. (08004) "
When i gave some blank pwd, then it clearly shows that "An invalid User Name or Password was entered."
So, i concluded that the pwd which am giving for the pain is correct and there is some thing to do with my catelog. So, i went ahead and changed in the instanceconfig file as pain catalog and even restarted oc4j, Bi server & Presentation server, even then its giving me the same error.
Also, my NQS file have paint red as default.
Can anyone give some inputs on this error and how to over come this?

i have already tried below mentioned things but still issue persists,
    RESOLUTION:
Connect to WebLogic Server (WLS) Console -> Deployments. Ensure that all deployed components are in ‘Active’ state.
Use the command prompt to verify the opmn status, as the EM console will not always reflect the correct status.
If any of the components is in ‘Prepared’ state, select that application and then click on “start servicing all requests”.
Restart BI Server and Presentation Services
If this does not resolve the issue please follow the steps below:
In some cases, the following additional step might be needed to resolve the issue.
Access the Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware control: http://<host.domain>:port/em
Navigate to Business Intelligence -> coreapplication
‘Capacity Management’ tab -> ‘Scalability’ sub-tab
Click on ‘Lock and Edit Configuration’ button
Enter the IP address in the ‘Listen Address’ field
Click on ‘Activate Changes’ followed by ‘Release Configuration’ buttons.
Restart BI Server and Presentation Services
    Please guide.

  • Forgot userid/password

I set up my Blackberry 7250, and set it up with my POP email server.  That is working fine, and it connects to my third party POP server fine, and I can browse the internet as well.  BUT I don't know the userid or password.  I guess it's working because I don't have the device password enabled (it doesn't lock or require a password).  But I can't change things like my email signature, because I don't know how to login!
So how do I find out what the userid/password is?  And is the userid/password for blackberry internet service different than for the device itself?

yes the password can be diff from device password. You can find the password for your BIS account by going to ypur service providers BIS site and then click on forgot password and request by PIN number, but to find out the user name you need to speak with your service providers BlackBerry support team.

  • Unable to login to presentation services after doing the upgrade 10g to 11g

    Hi All,
I had a running instance of OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.6.0, my 11g rpd and webcatlog was working fine. Imp to note is that, I had configured external LDAP authenticator and wasn't using the weblogic embedded LDAP.
Now, today, I had to updrage 10g RPD and Webcatlog to 11g and merge into the my current 11g system. I ran the upgrade utitlity and it completed the upgrade successfully but now when I try to login into presentation services using the weblogic user, the presentation services gets hung. It doesn't even give me a message like "Invalid login or password" I DON't get any message but my Presentation services and RPD gets hung( when I try to open it online)
Also, I am trying to refresh the GUIDs after making the necessary changes in the config and instanceconfig.xml file i start the obi server and presentation server, it doesn't come up. So I am unable to refresh my GUIDs
What could be issue here? Do I need to fix an credential file? Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Ronny

  • What Is Presentation Services Cache In Fact?

I have searched on this forum and on BI blogs but don't understand the concept of a presentation services cache clearly.
At first let tell what I need.
I have a dashboard page with prompts and report. From this report I navigate to another dashboard page with reports and several promts that have to be initialized with values from previous dashboard page. The navigation is based on PortalPageNav() function.
I created table in DB, PL/SQL function , through EVALUATE I passed parameters to PL/SQL function and wrote its into DB table.
Then I added this table in RPD and on Presentation Layer.
In Answers I get correct results.
Then I initialize the default values of prompts on a second dashboard page through 'SQL Results' and type something like this:
SELECT "Parameters"."Value" FROM "BO" WHERE "Parameters"."Name"='Param1'
    1. I login and go to first dashboard page, change prompts, run report then navigate to second dashboard (it opens in new window). All prompts initialize correctly.
    2. I open window with first dashboard page change prompts, run report then navigate to second dashboard again. And I see the previous values in prompts. But in a DB table I see new values.
There 2 ways for deciding this problem
    1. By clearing cursor cache:
answers - administration- manage session - close all cursors
    or
answers - administration- manage session - choose appropriate cursor and close it
    2. By reloading second dashboard page
All ways are not convenient or user friendly.
BUT I NEED IN AUTOMATIC CLEARING OR NOT CACHING SOME PROMPTS!
I cant't write in a user's guide - for correct work you have to login as Administrator and clear cursor cache every time after changing prompts on first dashboard page or reloading second dashboard page :)
    I became research this issue.
    1. BI Server Cache is turned off through NQSConfig.ini
    2. I began read a lot of info about Presentation Services Cache:
    1) John Minkjan blog - [http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2008/11/obiee-presentation-services-cache.html]
I need no turn Presentation Services Cache or disable it.
    2) [http://businessdecisionsystems.com/blog/?p=122] this article give us info about storing log records but there is no info about clearing cursors.
    3) [http://hekatonkheires.blogspot.com/2010/02/obiee-10g-presentation-server-cache.html] good article about physical storing of presentation services cache but I didn't find any info on clearing some cursors
    4) Nico in a blog write [http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/html_cache#clear_the_presentation_server_cache_without_stopping_and_restarting_the_services] that Presentation Services Cache is a HTML cache but he don't say how clean the entries without clicking on 'Close All Cursors' button.
    5) In this topic presentation cache refresh in prompt the same problem and no answer :(
    6) The user10203008 in a topic To pass new session variable value to stored proc before running a report. has the same issue but all advices about BI Server Cache. He found solution but it is disable whole Presentation Services Cache. I need clear ONLY SOME CURSORS.
    So, I have a answer!
DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE IS STORING DATA ABOUT CURSORS ON A PAGE ANSWERS - ADMINISTRATION - MANAGE SESSION ?
May be somebody knows a developer of Siebel Analytics or may be he is on a forum and tell us how realized a clearing some cursors in a automatic mode?

    I found a solution.
I decide to emulate a pressing button 'Refresh' at the end of a page. So I look at a html code of Dashboard page and found a corresponding javascript function. It is RefreshPage('saw.dll?Dashboard&PortalPath=<PortalPath>&Page=<PagePath>')So I trying to create a text box with HTML Markup option and enter RefreshPage on onload() function. But then I got a cycle: open dashboard page -> onload() -> RefreshPage() -> onload() -> RefreshPage() -> ...
So I decide to find a code of this function. The function code is in %SAROOTDIR%\web\app\res\b_mozilla\dashboards\portalscript.js
    // force cache refresh
    function RefreshPage(sCmd)
       var viewStateDiv = document.getElementById("idViewStateDiv");
       if (viewStateDiv)
          sCmd += "&Action=RefreshAll";
          sCmd += "&ViewState=" + viewStateDiv.getAttribute("stateID");
          sCmd += "&StateAction=samePageState";
       window.location.replace(sCmd);
       return false;
}We may see that for refreshing page the Action='RefreshAll' is used. So we need pass this Action.
I wrote in a first post that I was using PortalPageNav() javascript function for navigation. So I created my custom CustomPortalPageNav() function which is based on original PortalPageNav() code with one new parameter 'sAction'. So I pass a value 'RefreshAll' through this parameter and it works!

  • OBIEE 11g Active Directory Presentation Service Error retrieving user

    Hi Team,
It was a great help from all of you on our OBIEE learnings.
I recently configured Microsoft AD on Weblogic rather than RPD. But felt like I am in a desert of helplessness due to the complicated and lengthy documents and settings :(
Still when I configured everything and logged in to presentation services using AD Credentials, observed following error!
Error retrieving user/group data from Oracle BI Server's User Population API.

Total blockout! Anyone faced this issue earlier

You need a user to be present in your Active Directory Base DN that will be used as the BISystemUser. You will either have to create this user in AD or use an existing AD user and then specify its credentials in Enterprise Manager (expand Weblogic Domain > bifoundation_domain (right click) > Security > Credentials). You will need to set system.user credential under oracle.bi.system map. Make sure your AD user's password never expires or you will run into problems in a few weeks time!

  • BI Publisher and Presentation services integration

    Hi,
I have configured BI publisher and done the presentation services integration also. When I try to build a query by connecting to RPD, I am able to generate a query and design the report.
But when I select BI Answers as a data source, I am not listed out the reports. When I click on browse button, it opens the popup window and dispays BI Catalog and nothing else. when I check saw log, it has authentication error.
We have enabled LDAP authentication. I have used Administrator user to configure BI publisher. I have enabled the BI Publisher security type for BI Publisher authentication.
I have used the Administrator user while executing the cryptotools utility.
    The following is the error.
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW).
State: 08004. Code: 10018. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: 08004] [nQSError: 10018] Access for the requested connection is refused.
[nQSError: 13024] Successful completion of init block 'LDAP Authentication' is required. (08004)
I am loogin in using administrator user and trying to use BI answers as a data source.
If anyone have any idea on this issue. Kindly help on the same.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
Yes Seriously , the documentation at this link http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/fusionapps.1111/e20838/jdev.htm shows clearly there is a out-of-box region called "BI Publisher Region " to be integrated with ADF UI.
But after installing the extensions also I am not able to find that option.
I have installed "Oracle Fusion Applications Companion 11g (11.1.1.5.3) " updates as mentioned here "https://blogs.oracle.com/jdevextensions/entry/setting_up_a_fusion_applications"
After installing we see "BI ADF Components" in Technology Scope but If we open a jspx/jsff we don't see "BI Publisher" region option in component palette. Looks like there is something seriously missing.
One thing to note is I installed Jdev 11.1.1.5 downloaded from OTN and installed the updates from "http://edelivery.oracle.com" will that be a problem?
Any body from ORACLE ACE directors pls help us. We need this region looks like it has more options to save the document etc..
    Thanks for your help!!

  • Use of active directory userid/password authentication instead of SAP R/3 User/Password for digital signature?

    Dear all,
I am looking to setup the use of active directory userid/password authentication instead of SAP R/3 User/Password for digital signature. We SSO to the backened ABAP AS via an SAP NW Portal to which SPNEgo kerberos authentication is setup. Today we specify R3 user id/password to digitally approvae a lot release. The idea is to have users maintain one AD password and don't have to remember the R/3 password anymore and also our Security team to avoid password maintenance.
I know there are 3 options for digital signature and
System signature with authorization by user ID and password (We use this currently)
Digital User signature with verification - (We would like to use this with AD userid/password, so the system still ask the users their AD userid/password for the authentication when they try to "sign" a document.)
    User signature without verification
Do you think there is a way to configure the system in order to ask and check the active directory userid/password instead of SAP R/3 password? Where can I found documentation about it ?
I have several different versions of AS ABAP starting from NW 7.02 to NW 7.31.
My active directory is based on Windows 2008.
    Thanks in advance!!
    Dhee

Actually enabling Kerberos for SSO purposes and enabling Kerberos for digital signatures are two different topics although the latter is because of the former. I'm interested in the topic as well and I'm currently looking at different options. SAP provides a BAdI for the digital signature API which can be used for external authentication but they do not provide the solution to invoke Kerberos authentication based on username and password. SAP provides a semi solution with NWSSO 2.0 SP2 which works only on Windows with classic dynpros meaning SAP GUI for Windows is assumed. The solution is based on an ActiveX component which does the actual Kerberos authentication using the Secure Login Client which is part of the NWSSO suite. Extending that implementation to non-Windows and non-GUI applications would require some sort of web enabled service that could be used to authenticate the user with username and password. In case authentication is successful, a Kerberos token would be returned to SAP which would then be validated. All the required pieces are there since SAP has Kerberos support now in both stacks of the NetWeaver Application Server, some bits are still missing though which leaves customers looking at 3rd party or custom solutions.
