Storing query results in file server via Information Broadcasting service

Dear Experts,
We use BI7.0.
I want to get the query results as PDF file or Excel file
stored in file server or BW server, EP server by night batch job.
(Not the distribution of query via E-mail.)
BW3.5, I think we can use pre-calculation service for that case.
BW7.0, I could not find such settings in EP Broadcasting service.
Please help me...

Can any one tel me how can i place the query result in application server as a .CSV file.
when am executing WRITEQUERY program it asking query name and displaying result in excel sheet, i don't what is next step to keep file in app server.

I need to schedule a query on a regular basis and send the results to Apllication server in csv format(rows will be more than 65,000).
I tried RSCRM_BAPI transaction but i think it has lot of restrictions like, cannot use texts, calculated keyfigures, etc. so cannot use this.
cannot use Infospoke since there are calculated keyfigures in the query.
Information Broadcasting is not setup in my system
Tried WRITEQUERY but it only send the results to Spool, special handling is needed to move the data from spool to Appl. server.
is there any other way i can achive this, is it even possible?

I dont know if this helps.
1)You can save the file as a normal CSV file on your desktop.
2) and Based on the ABAP code using ( OPEN DATASET and CLOSE DATASET statements) You can put your file into the application server
but i am not sure if you can use this methodilogy for an automated and continous process

I'm new to sql and would appreciate it if anyone could show me the query that i need to type to get the server version information - I do not have direct access to the sql database (doing some work on an old website that runs on windows box w/ coldfusion :p)

You could try this.

Exchange Server 2013- Information Store Service not starting

Hi Everyone,
We are having an issue with one of our Exchange Servers that is running Exchange Mailbox server role.
Server : Exchange 2013 CU3 , Windows Server 2012 R2
We noticed on Friday that its "Information Store Service" has stopped working and we try to manually run it (Services->Microsoft
Exchange Information Store Service -> Start)
Service didn't start and gave : Error 0x80004005 Unspecified Error
Trying to start the service using the command line using: net start MSexchangeIS gave us a different error:
System Error 16389 has Occurred
The system can not find message text for message number 0x4005 in the message file for BASE
Event viewer has (Event ID : 7031):
The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
Since we have got this error we have tried some fixes such as Checking Time synchronisation and IPv6 issues. But nothing
seems to have caused this. We have rebuild the windows server from scratch and used the recover server switch to rebuild the Exchange server. Still the same issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any update? Does the issue still occur after install Exchange server on Windows Server 2012?
I wonder if the issue occurs suddenly or did you configured something on database.
In addition, overload on server could also cause the issue.

We have only one application server. The issue might be because of the broadcast settings which I am giving to fill the OLAP Cache.
In my current query there are two variables one is on business unit and the other one is on calendar month. Both the variables are optional.
Business Unit variable accepts multiple single values as input and the calendar month is selection-option variable.
Now My problem is if I fill cache with a variant, without providing any value for Business Unit variable (i.e for all the business Units ) and Calendar month values as 01.2010 to 11.2010, then when I execute the query for Business Unit x and Calendar month 10.2010- this is not picking data from cache instead reading from the database. Ideally this selection is the subset of the cache which I have filled.
The query is picking data from the cache only if I give the same variable values i.e no values for Business Unit and 01.2010 to 11.2010 for calendarmonth.
My requirement is to fill the cache for all the Business Units and all the calendar months of current year. This cache should be accessed by the query even if user selects one or multiple or all the Business Units and a single or range or all the calendar months of current year.
I might be doing something wrong in settings of BEx broadcaster. Please throw some light on the settings which I have to make in this case.

Problem while scheduling email via information broadcasting

Hello,
I am trying to schedule one email using information broadcasting.
When i say create new scheduling, i can see following as a default,
Next start at tommorrow's date at tommorrow's time.
What i want is that it should display today's date and time by default.So that i can schedule the email for today at any time.
How is it possible?

Yup.. you need to check the implemented server time zone.. you can see also from menupath system status..
if you want to change i think it will be global change across all the users at all the regions..
I think you can see in one of SPRO settings.. i think so..

Why are you looking for Book Mark!!.The broadcaster allows you both offline as well as online link to be sent.
Now pupose of BookMark is different.Its for Keeping in your favourites or Quick Links.

extract() would do what you want. But your whole approach of only have 1 document makes no sense when working with an XML database. See my reply to the other post for more reasons.

When connecting to file server via smb shows no space available! Help!

We are running an XSERVE with Mac OS X 10.5.5 and have multiple clients that connect to it (mac and windows).
For some reason yesterday one of the clients (10.4.11) when connects to the file share using the smb protocol shows up with 0kb available and he is not able to copy any files. Every other computer shows 4TB available. When I connect to the share on his machine using my credentials I get the same problem. However, when I connect using his credentials on my machine it shows up correctly with 4TB free. Also, when he connects via AFP it shows the full 4TB. Any idea what could be causing this?
(the reason he connects via smb is because for some reason the people on 10.4.11 experience very slow AFP transfers sometimes. If anybody knows whats causing this that would help too hehe) Thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to help me.

If it is an identical machine, put the machine that works fine into target disk mode and boot the machine that is having issues from the other machines drive. That will eliminate most hardware issues.
My guess is it is a system file or a settings file in the users library. I have fixed several issues like this on computers that were running 10.4 I believe and think they were upgraded from 10.3 by someone else. The issue had something to do with permissions and files.
Try some of the following:
- create a new user on the computer and see if that user works. if so, it's something in the user folder (most likely User/username/Library/). If not, then it is something outside the user folder.
Try
- running a combo Update on the machine
- run disk utility file and permissions on the drive
- Backup the user folder and clone the drive that works onto this drive, and move the user folder over. (assuming you know how to do that, it is easy)
REGARDING Slow AFP - having the same issue with 10.4.11 Server. Most clients are Leopard. Intermittent, so hard to diagnose. Tried several solutions on this wait and see issue.

Spool query result to file

Hi everyone,
I would like to spool the results of my query to a CSV file with a delimiter ';' on a hard drive. I use Toad for Oracle, my script worked fine previously on version 9, and now I have version 10.1, and it doesn't work anymore.
What happens is I do get the output alright, but for some reason the output creates blank spaces at the end of each line, but only where the last column value for the line is 0.
For example, I get something like this:
Let's say I have an output of 5 columns, first 3 being string and the 4th and 5th being numbers
A B C D E
stringA stringB stringC 1.01 26.2
stringA stringB stringC 10.002 0
stringA stringB stringC 23 1001.1001
In CSV this looks like this:
A;B;C;D;E
stringA;stringB;stringC;1.01;26.2

The first and third row would appear fine, but the second row (the one that ends with a zero) would have a bunch of blank spaces after the zero.
Here is the script that I use:

My opinion is that this TRIMSPOOL doesn't work as effectively as it should. I've tried several others, such as TRIMOUT, but nothing seems to work.
I could bypass this by setting a 'dummy' column at the end that would always have some value <> 0, say 1, but this is not a clean solution.
Any ideas?

Billing invoice idoc out to file server via ALE partner profile

Hi Folks,
Can anyone tell me what partner profile I need to configure to have an INVOIC idoc go to a directory on the app server? Also I want to do this at the same time the invoice is physically printed. I do not want to do this in EDI as this would mean configuring partner profiles for all customers, so I want to do this in ALE.
I am assuming I use the partner profile for LS a logical system and have an output type in invoice message control for the idoc with suitable condition records to ensure that paper and idoc media are both selected at runtime?
Also I can get the idoc produced and to status 30 using EDI but what pushes the idoc out automatically from this point and will that be the same method once I get the idoc produced using ALE?

Is it possible to password protect a distributed report (pdf format) using individual Member's unique password?
Then, can we easily administer the (e.g. user-create/e-mail confirmation) the actual passwords?

Environment
In order to use PDF encryption, FOP has to be compiled with cryptography support. Currently, only JCE is supported. JCE is part of JDK 1.4. For earlier JDKs, it can be installed separately. The build process automatically detects JCE presence and installs PDF encryption support if possible, otherwise a stub is compiled in.

Java strings don't have encodings. So your premise is faulty to start with.
But then you convert the string to bytes (using the getBytes()) method. This is where you need to specify an encoding. SOAP is XML-based so the natural encoding to choose is UTF-8. To do this you just change your code to call getBytes("UTF-8").
I know nothing about using SOAP but doesn't SOAPEnvelope have a constructor that takes a String as its parameter? Or something like that? That would make far more sense than compelling the user to guess at encodings.
