Storing version against the page - possible enhancement

Hi, my requirement is to store a version number against each page.
Background:
We export pages and use a version manager called PVCS. This version manager has a facility to automatically update a string such as '$ Revision: $' to the actual version it is allocating when checking into pvcs. If I include the string in the page it is automatically updated at checkin time and I can then display this at runtime. Hence, we can see what version of the page is running at customer sites etc to assist us with issue resolving.
What I have found is there is no specific 'Version' field on the page itself. I have the option to use a field such as 'Comments' or even create a page item to hold the version. Ideally though, it would be simpler and make more sense to have a new Version field. Can I suggest a future enhancement to APEX for this. Developers could then use it to add a version number manually OR do I as require above.

Eminently possible in Pages. Get a template (or employ the one used with MS Word) and look up Merge Fields in the Pages user guide.

After installing 8.2 on my iPad all the apps crash during use. It appears that the iPad saves a version of what I was using because after the app crashes I double press the home button an there is a screen of an older version of the page I was using.

I swipe it away and start over, only to have the same thing happen again. I have reinstalled all the apps, rebooted, synced and re-synced with iTunes. This is VERY irritating!

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

Changed a webpage with new photos and text, uploaded it to FTP. But when I visit the website, the old version of the page is there instead of the new page.

I changed one of my webpages, adding pictures with hyperlinks and text. When I preview the website and webpage the changes appear. I upload it with Muse's FTP uploader and everything goes smoothly. But when I visit the website, it displays the old version of the webpage.

I have the same issue.
Yes, I use a third party FTP client. I have cleared browser history and cache. Still shows up. I even DELETED the entire site and re-uploaded the new one with the same results. What am I missing? Why does the old page keep showing up? Tried 3 different browser apps and a different computer.

Recently firefox loads LinkedIn home page as text only. Was no problem before I installed latest version and the page loads fine in Explorer and Safari.

There is an option in page permissions I would check first:
# Right click on the page and select "Page Info"
# Under Media make sure "Block Images from..." is not checked
Then check out: [[Websites look wrong or appear differently than they should]]
Mainly I would focus on the cache, as the cached page might be corrupt. To clear any corrupt pages it is possible to forget the site from the about:permissions page -> this is not recoverable.
You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer).
Check on the Network tab if any content is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero).

Why am I getting a message that says "Page is taking too long to load"? And then it gives me a stripped down version of the page. BUT it always works fine in Safari, AND I have a 15MBPS Internet connection?

It routinely affects the most frequent sites I visit: odesk.com, batchbook.com, google reader. They aren't bandwidth intensive sites, and as I mentioned I have a really fast internet connection. Sometimes refreshing the page helps. Other times it doesn't and I have to use Safari.

How do I force an HTML Article to load on every view rather than load a cached version of the page?

I've got several HTML articles, one is a search page. When you click a search result I am setting a variable in localStorage for the search query so it can be highlighted on the result page. When you get to the result page however, 99% of the time it loads a cached page. I need to force it to refresh and execute the JavaScript on every view not just when the View Application decides it should. Also the thumbnail is often cached to a really old version with something highlighted that you searched for 10 mins ago.
Is there any API that I can make the HTML Article load on every view?

Flash only supports a small amount of html in text areas. If what you re trying to include is within what it supports, then you assign the text to the textfield using the htmlText property of the TextField...

How can I make the annotation box show in the printed word version on the pages app?

I want to insert annotation box on the side of the text. But I found that i cannot do that, and the annotation box disappear on the printed version of my document. How can I make that appear on my printed verison? Thank you!

You are referring to Comments and Apple has removed the old method from Pages 5.
If it is important to you go back to using Pages '09 which should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.

In Pages '09, OSX 10.8 how do I print multiple pages on one sheet of paper. (I used to be able to do this in earlier versions via the "page setup" menu.

Forget it. The answer is that the multiple page per page setup comes up in the printing menu. (When you do command-P)

Click on the Show Details button in the Print dialog.
Whenever options seem to disappear, have a look around and explore what is available. Particular when they have what appears to be relevent labels.

I can no longer print anything except text edit files in firefox. I used to be able to do this. now, when I try to print, when I look at the pdf file version of the page, it is always blank and that is what prints. a blank page

You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden, so you need to hide the Menu bar via View > Toolbars, also accessible via Firefox > Options.<br />
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.<br />
You can place the Tab Bar on top.

How can I get App Tabs to automatically load a fresh version of the page every time I click on them?

I like the app tab feature and am using it for sites that I visit frequently, for example, weather sites. The problem I have is that when I click on say http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ta/arbroath_forecast_weather.html I get the site as it was the last time I used it. Today this meant I got a weather forecast starting from 2 days ago, not from today.
I can get round this if I remember to "Reload" every time but I'm guessing that is not the way app tabs were intended to work.

HT201272 Why I cant download Pages for iOS 8 in an iPod touch 4th genereation if there is an option for download an older version of the app?

I already bought pages in the past, I changed my store from Mexico to the US, whatever I can download the app for free thanks to my past purchase. I want to install Pages in a restored iPod touch 4th generation with my account (I bought pages with that account) and I want to install it; it tells me that I can´t all because it requires iOS 8. I have known about a feature that lets you download an older version of the app compatible with your device. I would like to known how to download the app successfully inside the device with the older version for compatibility.

If you can download an older compatible version of the Pages app then you should be able to do so via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on the iPod - but it's possible that Apple doesn't allow it for the Pages app.
