  • BIG PROBLEM!! nokia 6300 flashes repeatly and then...

    Hi There, I hope someone on this forum can help me. I had used this phone about 4 months ago. Now when I want to switch it on, the following happens. 1. Blue lights on the sides light up. 2. Nokia startup screen comes up for about 1,5 seconds. 3. Screen goes blank. 4. White screen flashes 3 times. 5. Phone dies.
    Actions Taken: I make sure that the battery was fully charged. I had removed the 1 GB Micro SD Card. I had replaced the SIM-Card. Then I turned it on. But it still the same problem. I wonder that it caused by viruses. How can I fix this problems? Should I reformat the phone and how? because it gonna flashed and then turn off repeatly. So sad.
    very hope
    shah

    This is a software problem, i know you said you updated the firmware yourself but it is worth taking it to an Nokia Care Point as they use a different method for installing the software and is more reliable.
    You can find the nearest NCP to you at the Store Locator
    My posts are my opinion and in no way the direct views of Nokia.

  • Storm 1 dies after 2 min call on full battery

    I've been trying to get a response to this question and have received nothing yet.
    my storm1 dies after a 2 minute call - even when the battery is full, a call comes in and withing 2 mins the phone shuts itself off and sometimes restarts with the battery icon red, I get a message saying the battery is too low for radio signal. I don't have any apps running in the background, I ensure that the phone is locked so that the backlight goes off. Still it dies - any help please!!!!
    My Core Application is 5.0.0
    System software is 5.0.0

    Assuming that you are running iOS 4 or higher .....
    There could be any number of reasons why the battery is losing the charge so quickly. If you constantly have Location Services, and Notifications turned on - and depending upon the frequency that the iPad is set to Push email notifications, along with the number of apps that may be running in the background ... all these factors impact battery drainage.
    These two articles are worthwhile reading for you and will give you a great deal of insight on how to best charge the battery and how to get the most out of battery life.

    One thing I recommend for you to try is to quit open/recent apps. You do this by double tapping the home button to bring up all of your recent/opens in the task bar at the bottom of the iPad screen. Tap and hold down on any of those icons until they all wiggle. Then tap the minus signs in the upper left corner of the icons to close the apps. Close all of them, then tap the home button twice. Now restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut down. Hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears to power up again.
    This article may be helpful as well for you to read about how multitasking works.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4211
    After you do this, and you read and heed the advice in the two support articles, see how your battery life is now. There could be other issues involved, but start here.

    Hi!
    Check that all enviroment variables are complete and still in place?
    JAVA_HOME and DBMS_TYPE and so on
    Also check that all exe files are of the same version, if not, make sure they are.
    You could also try to update disp+work

    My iPhone 5 dies at 20-24% it doesn't go all the way to 0%. Will apple replace my phone or fix my phone for free since its hardware problem and I have no money. This is my second iphone 5 replacement. I have no apple care so I'm worried. My phone has NEVER touched water! I only get 1/5 of battery use. I've also spent 30$ at the apple store on screen protectors for nothing! I really don't have 220$ nor 50$ I am on a strict budget. I believe I have to pay 220 not 50 ford a phone replacement for accidental damage. I don't know what category this falls under. I really need a new phone or battery. HELP! Will I have to pay? Also my screen lighting is all topsy-tervy every I put my screen on highest it won't work I have to wait about a minute? Forgot to mention that my apps exit out by themselves all the time when Im using them.

    So, have you tried a reset?  Restore from backup? Restore as new?  You seem to have a few problems but do not mention any action taken to resolve them.  What have screen protectors to do with anything?

  • Class action lawsuit regarding Android 2.2

    If there were a class action lawsuit filed against Verizon regarding the lack of support for upgrades of the Android OS, would you join it? Essentially it would be based on promises and claims made by sales reps at the stores during the decision process of buying the phone and by phone reps that the Samsung Fascinate was to receive the Android 2.2 update "any day now".
    As it stands, people who purchased the Fascinate are paying full price for the data package just the same as other Verizon customers who purchased phones from competing manufacturers (Motorola and HTC). However, people who purchased the Fascinate are not getting the same access or experience as the customers who purchased phones from these other manufacturers.
    If I purchased a less technically capable phone than the HTC Incredible or Motorola Droid X, I would not expect the same software updates. However, I was told that the three phones (Incredible, Fascnate and X) were all in the same class and all ran on the same version of Android (2.1 at the time of purchase). Being a Black Berry Storm user before and having been limited on my browser experience, I had been following the progress of Android and I had heard that Android was to receive an update that would allow for Flash capabilities which was a huge deal. It was one of the main reasons I switched from Black Berry to Android. I was told that all three phones would be receiving the 2.2 update "very soon". This was in October of 2010.
    Due to the Adobe Flash capabilities provided by the Android 2.2 update, Fascinate users are being limited on their browser usage but are not being compensated in ANY way for this lack of access. Also, other Samsung products contracted through Verizon are already come with the Android 2.2 software installed.
    Personally (and I don't think I'm alone), I feel cheated by both Verizon and Samsung for not providing what was promised, all the while, people who purchased the Motorola or HTC handsets, have received their updates as promised and are receiving more browser access but paying the same amount that I am. Upon calling Samsung, the rep did not hesitate to blame Verizon for the lack of support.
    So the question again is... If there were a class action lawsuit filed against Verizon, would you join it? There may never be one, and many attorneys may say it would be a waste of time, but would you join? I know I would.

    @mdram4x4
    I am totally disagreeing with you. When you're purchasing a car, dealership is clearly asking telling you that car is sold AS-IS and you even being asked to sign a letter of release form that states that car is being purchased with whatever option currently existing on the car and unless specifically specified no additional accessories or parts are coming with it. BUT and notice it is a capital letter but...it also say NO PROMISES, VERBAL, WRITTEN, OR OTHEWISE BEING MADE TO OFFER IN CONJUNCTION WITH THIS SALE.
    And that it what you are signing.
    In Verizon case, verbal promises of Froyo availability were made by Verizon sales, tech, and sups left and right. It is time to make those companies to be accounted for their actions.
    About 3 weeks or so I spoke with one law firm in San Francisco in regards to that matter and they were willing to open the class action case against Verizon. I was quite busy in the past and hadn't have a chance to speak with them again. I will try to make up some times next week to come see them again and proceed with a case.

  • Dispatcher dies after startup - sapdb / libpcr

    We have a NW04 server on Windows whose primary purpose is as an XI hub.
    It was recently moved from one network to another (same machine name) and initially worked properly, but is now not starting up.
    I just had to extend the data volume, as it was full, if thats of any relevance.
    It seems to be having issue loading "libpcr".  I did some searches, and re-registered the library, as well as setting the SABDBLIBDIR env variable.  To no avail.
    Here's the trace of dev_w3, which seems to be the first process that dies:

  • Dispatcher dies after afew seconds

    The dispatcher on my CI dies after afew seconds. In SAPMMC the SID becomes green then the message server closes the connection to the dispatcher forcing all WP's to die.
    The error on the message server:
    ERROR => MsSClientHandle: no server provides service ENQ
    I have here the seveloper traces for the message server and the dispatcher just in case.

    Good Bye .....

    I added the sapservice and sidadm accounts in the login properties for the respective databases for some reason those users did not have access rights to the DB.
    Strange! windows thing I guess!
    Anyhow. I solved it. thanks for your help.

  • DB connect problem,Disp+Work.exe dies and the work processes die on startup

    Dear Experts,
    I am getting the error on SAP startup,Disp+Work.exe dies and the work processes die on startup.
    I found below error in my DEV_W0 trace as below
    *failed to establish conn to np:(local).*
    *C  Retrying without protocol specifier: (local)*
    *C  Provider SQLNCLI could not be initialized. See note #734034 for more information.*
    *C  Using provider SQLOLEDB instead.*
    *C  ExecuteAndFlush return code: 0x80040e14 Stmt: [if user_name() != 'pec' setuser 'pec']*
    *C  sloledb.cpp [ExecuteAndFlush,line 5989]: Error/Message: (err 4604, sev 0), There is no such user or group 'pec'.*
    *C  Procname: [ExecuteAndFlush - no proc]*
    But i could see the user 'pec' is availble in my database users list  with db_owner , public permissions also been assigned to it.
    However When trying to delete a user on SQL server 2000, we recieve the message "You cannot drop the selected login ID because that login ID owns objects in one or more databases.".
    Please refer the below work process trace and please suggest the possible solution..

    Many Thanks,

    Hi Rohit and Subhadip,
    My problem was solved, thanks for your effort.
    reason is that, user 'pec' not been associated with login user for the SQL server.
    subha : when i execute the first command which you suggested, but couldn't find any user's list.
    so i didn't  tried with the second command. just to give a final try i have executed the script like below and its worked out.
    USE PEC
    GO
    EXEC sp_change_users_login 'update_one','pec','pec'
    GO
    Now i see that all work process are starting,,,thank you so much rohit and subhadip
    I could have try this first ,when you guys suggested since i couldn't find any output with the first command i didn't proceed with second one.
    Since deleting and creating method doesn't seems to be a good, i have just to give a try executed the second command and its worked.
    Thanks for your time and patience
    Many Thanks,
    Vinod

  • New AIR game - Saturate: A bullet-storm survival shooter

    Hi all,
    I've been working for over a year on game with a publisher (not this game!), and it is still many months away from release.  In the meantime I was anxious to get something released to the public in the short term, so two weeks ago I started Saturate: A bullet-storm survival shooter as a tribute game to one of my fav PC games, Mono by Binary Zoo.  Written in AIR 13 for iOS, Android and Facebook (iOS under review, and FB coming in a few days), with IAP for those who don't want to earn credits the hard way . I'll update the links as the other platform versions become available:
    Available for Android right now!
    Pixelthis website
    Pixelthis Facebook page
    Saturate is a Geometry Wars style two-stick single-screen bullet-storm survival shooter.  There are lots of control schemes to try (and more coming).  Keep in mind that this was a 2-week 'get it out there' marathon, so there are still plenty of features in the pipes (like highscore tables, sharing screenshots to FB and setting them as your wallpaper/bg, different game modes).
    The aim of the game is to saturate the screen with color.  Your score is the % of the screen that you fill when you die (and you will die).  The enemies are R, G and B, and they splat the screen with color when they explode.  There are some cool power-ups, and tons of weapons to collect. The sound track is pretty awesome too.
    Some background: Pixelthis just turned 10 years old a few days ago, so we've been around the block!  We started with Flash 4 and then Flash Lite 1.1 (way back when) on Nokia and Sony-Ericsson phones.  Saturate is developed using AIR, using our proprietary games platform.  The core of the system is a rasteriser that turns vector graphics to bitmap at runtime (including filters) so that we can run in GPU mode with very good performance, and a callback-based event and tweening system for very fast game loop, animations and messaging.  Saturate uses Milkmangames ANEs for StoreKit and Android IAB, and GoViral for social integration.
    The biggest challenges in development were (1) counting pixels to determine % of screen filled so that it didn't impact negatively on performance, and (2) tracking down and elliminating memory allocations during the game loop.  There are still some optimisations to do, but I think it went pretty well!  Unfortunately it runs a bit too slow on iPad1 when teh action hots up, so that device has been elliminated.  A bug in Adobe AIR that has not been addresed yet also prevents facebook from working on iOS5.1.
    Enjoy!
    Peter

    Thanks lars. Appreciated.
    I can't post actual code of the libraries (because it is our 10yrs worth of IP and it's what allows us to make games that run well accross devcies etc) but i can share the basic principles etc!
    This is what some example code looks like for making a 'RasterSprite':
    // Import the assets from a swc library that contains graphics.
    // These are movieclips with a graphic on each frame
    import assets.CharacterAssets;
    import assets.UIAssets;
    // Initialise the rasteriser just once when the game is started, with a ref to stage
    Rasteriser.init( stage );
    // Rasterise the graphics (this technique is synchronous/blocking) but
    // there is another process that is for larger amounts of graphics.
    // First we set the 'scale'. This determines how big to rip the graphics so that they
    // are always the correct size for the screen/device they are running on.
    Rasteriser.scale = scaleOfGame;
    Rasteriser.rip( CharacterAssets );
    Rasteriser.rip( UIAssets );
    // At this point, each frame is 'ripped' to a bitmapData that is cached in a vector
    // When we need to create a RasterSprite, we use the following technique, which
    // grabs one from a static object pool within RasterSprite:
    var character : RasterSprite = RasterSprite.create( 'CharacterAssets', 12, 15 ); // frames 12 to 15
    character.gotoAndStop(3); // This would be frame 14 of the CharacterAssets clip
    addChild( character );
    var titleGraphic : RasterSprite = RasterSprite.create( 'UIAssets', 7 );
    addChild( title );
    // When we don't need them anymore:
    character.recycle(); // Removes from display list and places back in object pool
    character = null;
    title.recycle();
    title = null;
    The Rasteriser is a static class that handles ripping the graphics and caching them.
    The RasterSprite is a Sprite that contains a Bitmap.  The bitmapData is one from the Rasterisers cache.
    The Rasteriser rips any graphics to a bitmapData at any scale, including any transformations, color transforms, filters etc. Everything maintains the correct scale (e.g. if you rip a graphic at scale 5.3, then the filters are also scaled by 5.3).  This is the magic that both allows the games to run on any resolution screen, and also allows the game to use GPU mode while effectively maintaining filters.
    This is the basic process for ripping the vector-based graphics to bitmapData.
    here we assume that the clip (if it is a movieClip) is 'stopped' on the frame you want to rip:
    1) Step through each filter and scale it's properties to the desired scale
    2) Add the clip to a container sprite (We rip the container. This is what preserves the clips transformation, alpha etc.  If we rip the clip directly all that stuff is ignored).
    3) Find the 'bounds' of the graphics within the container INCLUDING filters.  This is important because if a graphics are 100px wide, the content is not always from x=0 to x=100. It may from x=-26 to x=74.
    4) Create a new BitmapData the correct size (of bounds)
    5) Create a matrix to offset the content so that it IS at 0,0
    6) Use BitmapData.drawWithQuality to draw the container to the BitmapData
    7) Create a bitmap with that bitmapData, and offset the bitmap to counter-act step 5 and place graphics back at correct spot
    8) Optionally, scale all teh filters back again so that the original clip is not affected
    9) Remove the clip from the temporary container
    Anything specific you'd like to know?

    The vlan info isn't missing, you have the option of either specifying which VLAN you want it dropped in to, or you can just say authorize the vlan that is configured with the 'switchport access vlan' command.

  • SFTP related processes do not die if parent process dies.

    Java Version: 1.4.2_05
    JRE: build 1.4.2_05-b04.
    Running on Solaris 9.
    Problem:
    If the process using the SFTP API dies, the children processes created by the SFTP API do not end.
    A side effect of this is that all the sockets the orginal parent had remain open as the child processes inherited them.
    The JVM does close STDIN/STDOUT/STDERR to the child if the JVM has less than 1024 filedesriptors open at the time of the Runtime.exec() command.
    However, if the JVM has more than 1024 filedesriptors open at the time of the Runtime.exec command the child will
    a) inherit all filedescriptors above 1024
    b) the STDIN/STDOU/STDERR towards the child is not closed when the JVM exits.
    Has anyone seen this before?
    I heard this maybe fixed in JDK 1.5. Is this true? Is there a fix on this in 1.4.2?
    Your comments are appreciated?

    I found the following in http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/816-4555/rfsrefer-134?l=ja&a=view :
    In this situation, the SIGLOST signal is posted to the process. The default action for the SIGLOST signal is to terminate the process.
    For you to recover from this state, you must restart any applications that had files open at the time of the failure. Note that the following can occur.
    - Some processes that did not reopen the file could receive I/O errors.
    - Other processes that did reopen the file, or performed the open operation after the recovery failure, are able to access the file without any problems.
    Thus, some processes can access a particular file while other processes cannot.
