STP not saving effects
This one has me beat! - In 14 years of Macs with pro video I've never had a problem I couldn't find a answer for. Basically, Open Soundtrack Pro, import a file for editing, add an effect (telephone EQ), file plays and sound fine, flatten and Save file > open in QT or FCP and effect is missing.
Tried saving as AIFF and WAV - no difference, save as QT.mov gives an empty file, the Export option from STP (Audio file function) is also greyed out. Reverted to QT 7.3 with Pacifist - no difference.
Effects do work and export using the Multitrack function!
Any ideas to try?
Quad G5 2.5, Leopard 10.5.2, QT 7.4.1, STPro 2.0.2
Bringing this back up....
Clean system re-install, FCS2 re-install, 10.5.3 update, STP 2.0.2.
Nothing else on system, just OSX and FCS - STILL NOT SAVING ANY EFFECTS - EQ or Sound Designer etc.
I can't be the only person with this......or am I?

....STP not saving changes....
...a few people have experienced this problem and as of yet i've not seen an answer. I imported some music from an old cassette into STP did some EQ changes to bring out lost clarity then saved the mix, but when i replayed the new mix none of the changes were saved! anyone have answer for this one? thanks
That indicates that your primary account is the culprit. First close iWeb, delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple. iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help it could be another preference file that's interfering with iWeb. Here's how to determine if that's the case:
Trouble Shooting Preferences
Go to HD/Users/Your_name/Library. Move the Preferences folder (in its entirety) to the Desktop and make a second copy of it so you have Copy A and B. Now try the the process again and determine if problem is fixed.
If the problem IS fixed, then go to the new Prefs folder that the OS will have created and open it up.
Open Copy B on the Desktop and select all of the items inside. Drag them into the open new library folder. When the Copy window comes up check the Apply to All check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here. That will keep the new files created and bring back all of the others.
If the problem is NOT fixed, trash the new Prefs folder and move the intact Copy A folder back to the Library folder .

Group Policy - User Rights Assignments not taking effect on workstation`
Novell 5.1 SP7. ZenWorks 3.2 sp3. Windows XP Pro workstations.
In Group Policy, (Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security
Settings/Local Policies/User Rights Assignment), I have added Power Users to
the "Load and Unload device drivers" policy. However this setting is not
taking effect on my Windows XP workstations. My DLU policy for users is
configured to have the users members of the "Users" and "Power Users" groups
on the local PC.
Other parts of Group Policy (Computer Policy/Administrative Templates) are
taking effect on the workstation, so I'm wondering if the problem I am
having is related to Security Settings only.
I enabled Group Policy logging on the Windows XP workstation and include it
below:

Graphic EQ settings not saving??
Hi. I've just installed an old version of soundtrack 1.2 which I've never used before but I'm very familiar with other DAWs and finding this nice to use.
I'm using it for live backing track purposes with 10 songs in sequence in their own tracks and the plan was to have the Apple graphic EQ assigned to every track so that I can EQ each song to sound it's best at gigs. The problem is that for some reason each time I've set them, saved session and rebooted, all the EQs have been reset to flat (either that or simply not saved).
I have now removed all Graphic eqs and I've assigned Ozone to each track temporarily (risking CPU overload really) so that it's usable and the Ozone settings are saving fine.
Can anyone shed some light please, this is weird. (incidentally, the Graphic EQ checkboxes are all checked in effects window).
Thanks- grateful for any help.Hi,
10 songs in sequence maybe too much, Graphic EQ should can save all the settings.

Hello,
My volume settings are not saved when I power-cycle or reset my iMac. I have tried resetting the PRAM, with no effect. In another thread, someone asked me whether my PRAM battery might be getting old; the answer is, probably not, this computer was new as of this January.
One thing that's a little different from my other/previous Macs is that I have a Solid-State Disk (SSD) as startup disk and a standard Hard Drive (HD) for data storage. As recommended by various threads on the subject, to optimize performance while minimizing wear on the SSD, the /Users/xxx directory is on the SSD, but various sub-directories (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, ...) are on the HD. I've noticed that this leads to various odd perturbations (e.g. icons in the Finder sidebar only update when I click on them, can't launch a Parallels virtual machine by double-clicking its icon, ...), but I really don't see how it would be related to my volume settings.
Here's the machine configuration:
iMac (iMac11,3) 27" / 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7 / 16 GB RAM / 251 GB SSD / 2 TB HD
Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K540)
Boot ROM version: IM112.0057.B00
Any help would be much appreciated!Thanks for the suggestion. The Library folder is on the SSD, and I don't think the Public folder really has anything to do with this. But I did try moving the Desktop folder back to the SSD; the only thing that changed is that the Desktop icon in the Finder window sidebar is drawn correctly. The volume setting behavior is not changed.
I noticed something else, though: when I increase the volume and restart, the reboot chime is louder. This implies that my volume setting is correctly saved to PRAM, but then something else - during the start-up - cranks it back down. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to track this sort of thing? -
Preference are not saved when leaving Photoshop elements 10
Hi,
Each time I leave photoshop elements 10 (bought on Apple Store), A windows says that I don't have the required rights and my preference are not saved. Each time I restart the program it is re-installing the effect as if it's a new install.
Any change done in preference window is not taken into consideration.
I understood that this is because Photoshop is trying to save on root directory, which is not possible as protected.
Anyone has a solution as it makes it almost unusable :-( How can I change the right or tell photoshop to save the preference file somewhere else?
I use Mountain Lion.
ThanksI do not need to install when I get from Apple Store. When I start for first time after downloading, photoshop starts first by creating content and effect window. After that the program works normally.
Except when I want to quit, another window open telling me that I don't have the users rights to save my preference.
If I restart again Photoshop it restart from scratch and tries to re-install content and effects, which should only done once.
My problem is that I bought the version 10 in february this year and I was not aware that a new version was coming, so I don't want toinvest another 69 Euros....I would at least have my version 10 working properly. -
Hi
i am new at programming and also i am dutch so my english is not that high quality. sorry for that.
reading is a lot better than writing ;)
So here is my problem (i use visualstudio 2013 express)
my goal is to design a desktop app that keeps track of rented tv`s and Phones in a care home. (place where old people live)
i made 2 forms and 1 local database.
form1;
Public Class main
Private Sub AddTvToolStripMenuItem_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles AddTvToolStripMenuItem.Click
add.Show()
End Sub
Private Sub main_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
End Sub
End Class
form2;
Public Class add
Private Sub TelevisieBindingNavigatorSaveItem_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles TelevisieBindingNavigatorSaveItem.Click
Me.Validate()
Me.TelevisieBindingSource.EndEdit()
Me.TableAdapterManager.UpdateAll(Me.Database1DataSet)
End Sub
Private Sub add_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
'TODO: This line of code loads data into the 'Database1DataSet.Televisie' table. You can move, or remove it, as needed.
Me.TelevisieTableAdapter.Fill(Me.Database1DataSet.Televisie)
End Sub
Private Sub TelevisieDataGridView_CellContentClick(sender As Object, e As DataGridViewCellEventArgs) Handles TelevisieDataGridView.CellContentClick
End Sub
Private Sub TelevisieBindingNavigator_RefreshItems(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles TelevisieBindingNavigator.RefreshItems
End Sub
End Class
now the problem is, when i debug all is working ok
it gives no errors, all data shows i can add and remove data etc. But when i close the main form (form1) and restart debug
it has lost all changes. so it is not saving the data. earlier when i had just 1 form it did. and i cant figer out why?
greets masters.But when i close the main form (form1) and restart debug it has lost all changes. so it is not saving the data. earlier when i had just 1 form it did. and i cant figer out why?
That is correct. The data that you are using for debug should be the same each time you start a debugging session. If it changes, you can't compare one debug session with the next, so you can't know what effect your code changes have had.
Also, if there are errors in your code, you do not want invalid or incorrect data being stored into your database.
You can see some discussion of how to use data for debugging here:

SQL Server Configuration Manager (2012 SP1): "IP All" Setting Not Saving
I have 4 SQL Server 2012 SP1 clusters, and under Network Configuration ->
TCP/IP -> Protocol (tab), I am able to switch
Listen All from Yes to No. However, when I hit
OK (or Apply), I get the message:
Any changes made will be saved; however they will not take effect until the service is stopped and restarted.
OK, fine.
Now, if I re-open the TCP/IP properties, Listen All is back to
Yes.
This happens even after I restart the SQL Server service, and it happens on all 4 instances.
I have checked the version of Configuration Manager - 2011.0110.2100.060. I've compared this with a (non clustered) SQL Server 2012 where I can flip the
IP All field at whim, the versions are the same (as are the SQL Server versions,
11.0.3000.0 Build 7601).
I've also ensured that under IP Addresses, the one that I want to use has
Enabled = Yes, all other IPs have Enabled = No.
Neither BOL nor Google have any useful information for me.
Has anyone seen this before? Bug or WAD (and I'm doing something wrong)?Hi,
Per
Case 4: SQL Server is installed in a clustered environment:
On cluster, you cannot configure SQL Server to listen on a specific IP addresses. You must chose IPALL. The IP addresses on which the cluster instance will be listening on is determined by cluster resources (configurable through Cluster Administrator,
by adding IP Address resources under SQL Network Name resource).
Here is a workaround:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/318fca7a-58d1-4f11-81dc-1160fde31280/cant-set-listen-all-to-no-in-sql-2008-r2-cluster
Thanks.

Saving Effects Presets and the new Mask feature-are masks supposed to be saved?
I'm finding that if I put a new mask on a clip (say a mosaic) and then adjust the mask so it's over someones face, then save a custom preset so I can call up the effect faster when I need it again (ideally just moving the position of the mosaic and perhaps adjusting it's size), the mask IS NOT saved in the preset. I'm referring to highlighing the MOSASIC filter, then right-clicking SAVE PRESET, giving it a name and having it show up in the EFFECTS panel "Preset" bin.
Is the mask you create in a filter SUPPOSED to be saved as part of that preset you're saving as mine are not. It does save the MOSAIC filter and any adjustments I've made to the horizontal and vertical blocks, but not the mask itself. That seems like an oversight. I find this interesting because if I've COPY the clip that paste it's attributes to another clip, in that case it DOES take the MASK with it and I can manipualte, but not when saving as a PRESET.
I'm trying to determine if I'm having a problem or if saving the mask you create in the mosaic (or any filter) is supposed to save with a preset or not?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.i have the same issue. i applied a mask to the color corrector (3 way) and when i saved the preset the mask did not save. anyone else? help on this?

Iphoto not saving slideshow settings
HELP! I am DESPERATE!!!!! I have been working on a 45 minute slideshow for my parents 50th wedding anniversary party ALL WEEK. Iphoto is NOT SAVING my settings for the transisions between photos or the time each slide plays for. It is happening at random. No one at Apple has been able to help me...as a matter of fact I thought I was going to really lose it for about the 10th TIME when the last guy I spoke to tonight told me that I needed to speak with an IAPP advisor as he could not help me only being a senior advisor. My questions is WHY THE HECK HAVE I NOT BEEN transferred to an IAPP advisor all week when I have been calling them repeatedly trying to get issue resolved. This was the only person who said I should speak to someone in IAPP. I now have only FRIDAY to get this resolved as the party is at my house on SATURDAY!!!!
I know other people have had some similiar problems (glitches) from searching the internet and yet the people I have been speaking with say they have never had someone call up with this problem.....????
Anyone else out there have this problem and find a way to fix it?
(BTW--they already had me go the route of trashing the psist file and some cache file among other things......)Terence
Thank you for replying. My ranting was just out of utter fustration of literally sitting at a computer since Sunday redoing and redoing everything in order to have try and have a nice slideshow for my parents rather than just dumping a bunch of photos & music into a slideshow. It loses its punch when things don't fall into the proper place or transition right.....
2 things Apple had me do initially:
move a cache file and psist file out of library to desktop and then into my trash (I then did a secure empty trash)
senior advisor tried to have me duplicate the problem while he was accessing my computer---COULD NOT. He said unless I can duplicate for him he can't help me. He also said that he has never heard of anyone else complain of this & has never heard of anyone making a slideshow so big??? Really? It is 45 minutes with 375 pictures. While a little lengthy I find it hard to believe they are not used to anyone makng a slideshow this long.
Anyways later I called back when I felt I could duplicate issue. I spoke with another rep. He had me change ALL SLIDES from 5 seconds to 1 second and unclick default transition thinking that this could be causing the system to keep wanting to ovverride my manual individual settings if I had any slide less than 5 seconds or another transition. However he also was miffed by the "size" of my slideshow and said that Iphoto slideshow really wasn't meant for something of this size and suggested I use IMovie. While I had never used it I tried it. After spending all day getting the photos in IMovie and in same order I started editing the transitions and slide times....well this was no good because if I changed one thing it caused a ripple effect and changed stuff. Sooooooo I called Apple back and spoke with Senior advisor that told me that this is what Imovie does and I really should not use it for what I was trying to do ....he still felt iphoto slideshow was the way to go. So we went back to iphoto slideshow hoping that the couple of small changes the other advisor had me do had worked....no luck. I then decided to try and start fresh with NEW slideshow, new settings and break up my one big slideshow into smaller slideshows & then eventually dumpt into Imovie......No luck. With about 30 photos I noticed it wasn't saving my slide times again or now the speed of transitions. So the bottom line is that there is a GLITCH with iphoto and I have seem similiar complaints on these forums.
I greatly appreciate your suggestion of trying other apps and would definately do that if I had the time but alas the party is tomorrow and I have only today to get it resolved and redone.
Thank You for Your Time

Dwt not saving changes to child pages
I created a template and subsequent child pages on my desktop. I copied the site folder over to my laptop to work from there. Problem was the changes I now would make to the dwt on the laptop would not take effect on the child pages when saving. I settled with making a change just to the javascript menu which I made using Likno and just uploaded the changed files for the menu. Today instead of just downloading from the remote in DW the changed menu files I downloaded the entire site. Now when I make changes on the desktop to the dwt file it doesn't load the changes to the child pages. Any idea what happened here and what I should do in the future to avoid this?
This moving around of files from one machine to another sounds like the problem if the folder structure wasn't kept intact.
There is no reason why the template and the child pages shouldn't work if you moved them 'correctly' to another machine...
Did you define a Dreamweaver site when you had the files in a folder on the desktop?
Did you define a site when you moved to the laptop.
Defining a site is the most important step before doing any work on any files in Dreamweaver.
When you copied the files, did you copy the folder structure exactly as in the original folder, or did you just copy the dwt file and the child pages?
The dwt file when created and saved - was saved (or should have been saved) to a Templates folder in the root of the folder that holds your web files. No other files are allowed to reside in that Templates folder.
How did you create the child pages, by saving the template file but with a new name, or did you go FILE>New> Create from template (selecting the dwt file that you created) ?? -
Preferences, Global Defaults not saving
Hi
I've watched a demonstration (found here: http://bit.ly/5i3lnC) of how to set the defaults (start CP4, Shift F8, set the object preferences, OK, repeat from Shift F8 etc).
I've then opened a blank project and exported my preferences (as the blog described).
I've closed that project and opened up a new project, from a template. Then I've imported the preference file.
However when I go into Shift F8 to ensure it matches the object preferences that I set up and exported, it does not.
The preferences I set up for the Mouse object has saved, but the preferences for the Highlight Box and Text box and others have not saved. I had them set up with the Effect: No Transition. Some I had set to Display for: Rest of slide.
I'd also set the Preview defaults to 3 slides and this has not saved either, or it hasn't imported.
Am I doing something wrong, or have I misunderstood what the Global Defaults were meant to do?
Thanks
AnitaHello,
You need to change the global preferences to change the default style of your captions. In order to do that you need to make sure that without open any project click on Edit Preferences>Recording>Defaults create a new style and apply it .
Click on OK to close the object style manager dialog box.
Then start your recording again and check the default captions.

FCP Multicam Editing Problem, Not Saving
i have been editing on final cut for several years now, but i have never had a problem like this. i am editing a wedding using the multicam function, but every time i hit the space bar to pause the sequence all of the marks for the cuts disappear and are not saved. the entire clip goes to which ever angle as selected last. if they is anyone who has experienced this and could help it would be appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to the family.
You're saying: A) you've been using multicam for several years or, B) this is your first use of multicam after all these years?
The section in the manual is explicit and a bit confusing but following the step-by-step procedure is absolutely necessary the first few times so you figure out how the thing is supposed to work. I think it's weirdly non-intuitive but they didn't ask me.
Remember also that multicam is an effect and will render. Once it renders, you must unrender to make additional edits. Needlessly adds to the confusion.

Image is not saved in jpeg/bmp file but ok with png
Hi i am unable to save the image in disk in jpeg format.
Here is the code.
public void saveImage(){
//if no filechooser is there means no image file opened.
if(fileChooser==null){
if(errorWindow==null)
errorWindow=new ErrorWindow(XXX.getPrimaryStage());
errorWindow.showErrorWindow("There is no image to save !!\n");
else{
fileChooser.setTitle("Save The Image");
File saveFile=fileChooser.showSaveDialog(XXX.getPrimaryStage());
if(saveFile!=null){
System.out.println("saveFile path= "+saveFile);
//get the extension of output image to be saved.
//XXX: is the main class name(say)
outExtension=*XXX*.getImageExtension(saveFile);
//if user does not give extension: set default extension as jpg
if(outExtension.equalsIgnoreCase(saveFile.getName())){
outExtension="jpg";
String newPath=(saveFile.toString())+".jpg";
saveFile=new File(newPath);
Task task = new Task<Void>() {

Image curImage=XXX.getCurrentImage();
int width=(int)curImage.getWidth();

System.out.println("cur image width= "+width+" ht= "+height);

//set the current image to awt Buffered Image
SwingFXUtils.fromFXImage(curImage, bufferedImage);
imageTabPane=xxx.getImageTabPane();
Tab tab=imageTabPane.getSelectionModel().getSelectedItem();
TabPane childTabPane=(TabPane)tab.getContent();
ScrollPane sp=(ScrollPane)childTabPane.getSelectionModel().getSelectedItem().getContent();
final ImageView imageView=(ImageView)sp.getContent();
WritableImage wim = new WritableImage(width,height);
imageView.snapshot(null, wim);
System.out.println(" snapShot width= "+wim.getWidth()+" ht="+wim.getHeight());
*ImageIO.write(SwingFXUtils.fromFXImage(wim,null), outExtension, saveFile);*
//<------ its not working for png,jpeg,bmp,gif
// the below lines are working only for png and gif
OutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(saveFile);
ImageIO.write((RenderedImage) bufferedImage, outExtension, out);
out.flush();
} catch (Exception ex) {
Logger.getLogger(FileMenuController.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
//ex.printStackTrace();
System.out.println("finished");
return null;
Thread th = new Thread(task);
th.start();
}else{
System.out.println("File is not saved");
}//saveImageNote: The above code is executed in ubuntu(10.04) using Netbeans 7.2(Javafx(2.2), java(1.7.0_11).
When i run(from terminal) separately in a new class with an image in an Imageview( inside a Vbox) and take the snapshot
of the imageview and write into the file using ImageIO.write(SwingFXUtils.fromFXImage(wim,null), outExtension, saveFile);
with any extension (jpeg,png etc) it is working fine.
Please help me.
Any small hint is also helpful.Please feel free to comment or give suggestion.
Edited by: 963038 on Feb 17, 2013 7:14 PMWhen i omit the line OutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(saveFile);
and write only
ImageIO.write((RenderedImage) bufferedImage, outExtension,saveFile);
//out.flush();
then saving the image even in "png" also fails.
The following is the error code:

Excise invoice is not saving and not showing datas
in erxcise invoice i ve made settings as per the sap best practices then also the excise invoice is not saved and not generated also
please help me to solve the problem
the error is coming like this
Error in allocating Excise invoice number Interval not found Number object J_1IEXCLOC
Message no. 8I336
i ve already maintainthe number range for this object in tool in tax in goods moment
please give some better advice for the excise invoice setting.Sub Transaction type determines the subcontracting attributes and determines the accounts for the posting while doing a sub contracting transaction.
Sub transaction type is also used for determining the accounts while
doing excise removals.
Within CIN the account determination is based on the transaction type.
So normally you can have a single set of accounts for Excise
utilization. In case you need alternate account determination for
handling various scenarios you can define sub transaction types. The
sub transaction types and corresponding account assignments needs to be
maintained in CIN customization
To make customization of Sub Transaction type, goto
<b>SPRO --> Logistics General --> Tax on Goods Movements --> India --> Account Determination and check whether you have assigned second and third one, viz. "Specify Excise Accounts per Excise Transaction and Specify GL Accounts per Excise Transaction".</b>
Check
<b>Taxes on goods mvnt--indiaaccnt determination---specify excise accnts for excise transaction...maintain the sub transction type , ip or 01,
against the appropriate ETT</b>
