Strange Accvessory with Recently Purchased Ipod

Just bought one for my daughter and setting it up. In the box is a strange piece of white plastic which looks like some sort of docking station. The ipod fits in it and the USB goes underneath. But where does the docking station sit - or am I being dim !!

This is an iPod docking adapter, you may find a need
in the future, as it is for the iPod docking speaker
systems e.g. iPod HiFi, JBL on stage or Bose soundock.
Mitch. Many thanks - I have seen the light!!

The iTunes library on our laptop is correct and up to date with recent purchases and downloads; however, our desktop does not have any of these when using it.  Home sharing is turned "ON" with both computers. Why is the desktop not showing the same content and how do I resolve this?

    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

  • HT201274 I have wiped the old persons data and photos etc off my recently purchased ipod touch and now all the display shows is a usb lead and CD, please can someone tell me how to get past this screen so I can transfer my own music

Please can anyone help, I recently purchased a second hand ipod touch and it had over 4000 photos on it, so to delete them I went to settings and found an option which said something like erase all content and data, I did this and the next morning I tried to turn it on to put my own music on, only to find that the only display on the screen is a usb lead with an arrow pointing to a CD. I cant get past this screen even after plugging it in to my itunes account, its like my computer can not find the ipod.

Put it in Recovery Mode. If your computer won't recognize your iPod, try another one. How did you wiped the iPod? With iTunes or directly with the settings app?

  • Problem with Recent Purchase?

I recently had a problem with a purchase and didn't know it, and was wondering how I get that resolved?

If it is an issue with a song not playing correctly, you may be able to re-download it with iTunes in the cloud beta. Log in to your account, click on "Purchased" in the Quicklinks section, and re-download the song.

  • Recently purchased iPod Touch did not come with current firmware

I have just received my 32GB iPod touch from china but it did not come with the 3.0 update.
Why do I have to pay for an update that was released over a month before I bought the iPod from Apple?
Also, iTunes will not stop bothering me about updating to 3.0. Every time I open iTunes, a popup dialog come up asking me if I want to update the iPod Touch to 3.0.
I would love to update but I refuse to pay for an update that's over a month old.

Well, 3.0 really isn't an update as much as it is a new accessory for your Touch. It may seem like it should be an update, but it introduces many new features. If all it did was fix some errors it would be an update, but this is an entirely new release, hence the $10 charge. Trust me, you're not alone in expecting a new Touch to come with 3.0, but the reality is that this is how Apple's done this in the past (when 2.0 came out, the 1st generation Touches did not come with it -- only the 2nd generation ones did). iPhone users get 3.0 for free, but in reality that is a perk that Apple gives them for paying a monthly access fee. My guess is that 3.x won't come with a brand new Touch until the next generation is introduced.
As far as the incessant "do you wanna buy 3.0" message, that may eventually go away if you decline it enough times.

  • Cannot "Report problem" with recent purchase.

I am using Windows 7 Pro w/ Internet Explorer 11 and iTunes v11.1.3.8.  Both these are latest versions as far as I know.  Despite this, when I go to report a problem with a recent download, IE shows a message I must be using the latest versions of these two applications in order report the problem.
    What to do about this?

If it is an issue with a song not playing correctly, you may be able to re-download it with iTunes in the cloud beta. Log in to your account, click on "Purchased" in the Quicklinks section, and re-download the song.

  • Frustrations with recent purchase attempt

Recently I made an attempt to purchase an item with the help of an in store associate only to end up extremely frustrated and unsure if I can even get an order processed at the original pricing.  I was trying to purchase an open box iPad Mini 2 128GB for $449.99 and an open box iPad Mini Smart Case for $51.99.  Both items were shown as available on your website and in your system at the time of purchase.  I had an in-store coupon for $50 off a $500 purchase (no restrictions listed on the coupon), so with the help of the associate I was able to get the order placed with the coupon applied.  Since the coupon didn't have a scanable bar-code or sku to enter, the $50 was taken off of the price of the iPad Mini reducing it to $399.99.  The next day my order was cancelled because the items weren't available to ship.  When I investigated further though, both items are still available for purchase on your website.  Unfortunately now the price has increased to $464.99 and I don't have any way to apply the $50 coupon since I already turned it in when the original order was placed.  I spent 2 hours and 10 minutes on the phone with customer service last night, getting transferred over a dozen times and disconnected a few times as well.  Each time I was transferred, I had to start the conversation over again and seemed to end up with someone who either didn't have the knowledge or authority to help.  Finally I was able to get a helpful associate on the line at about the 2 hour mark, but after walking through the situation with him in an attempt to get my order reinstated at the original price I was told that I needed to go back to the store and have them help me resolve the issue.  Since I needed this item for a birthday present, I went ahead and replaced the order on my own (without the coupon applied) with the verbal consent from the associate at the local store who said that they might be able to go back and give me a $50 credit after the order is complete if I bring everything back into the store.  As of today, my order is still in a processing status and I still don't know if it is going to be processed.  With over 3 hours invested into making what should be a simple purchase, this has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have ever been involved in.

    Hello stoffaloffagus-
Frustration is not the feeling Best Buy wants our customers to have when placing an online order. While I understand that the experience has been upsetting at times, I am happy to see that you have partnered with the employees in your local Best Buy store and they have been assisting you.
After reviewing your online order with the email address you used to register onto the forum, I don’t want to ruin anyone’s birthday surprise but the order should arrive at the expected timeframe. You should have received two different UPS tracking numbers with the details of delivery. If you have not received the email, let me know I will be happy to share them with you. Continue to work with the representative in the store in regards to honoring the coupon for you, if you happen to still have questions send me a private message. To send me a private message, log into the forum and select the option from my signature bar.
Thank you for sharing your online order experience with us, and most off all for your patience your order seems to be processing accordingly.
Best Buy wishes your love one a very happy birthday!

  • Strange problems with my 30GB ipod

If anyone out there can help, I'd really appreciate it. For a while now my 30 GB ipod (which is about 3 years old) has been unable to start. I turn it on and nothing happens. Then I connect it to my computer and a very basic text reads "Please wait. Very low battery." This is weird because I've charged it many times before. Then, after a while this sort of whirring sound begins, as if a motor is gearing up. It repeats several times, accompanied by this clicking noise as if the motor is shutting off. This will repeat for as long as the ipod is connected to the computer and then a while longer on its own before it shuts off.
It doesn't show up on my computer but I'm wondering if this is a problem that started with my old computer, a crappy IBM ThinkPad.
I don't really know what to do. No music ever shows up on the screen and I cannot use it. Weird.
If anyone understands this, again, I'd appreciate any help.

iPod battery needs to be replaced for every 18 - 24 mths, otherwise have a read

  • Strange problem with 5th Gen iPod

I have one of the late 2006 5th Gen iPods which I got for Christmas, it originally had a defect with it's dock connector port and data transfer didn't work, I had to get it replaced. Now this one seems to be having loads of problems like just freezing while playing songs and skipping. But the reason I'm typing this message is becuase now after charging my iPod using an adaptor, I go onto iTunes on windows XP, then when I plug it in, It doesn't appear anywhere, says no power remains and then switches off and doesn't turn on no matter what I try, reset, center button, play.... I'm starting to think that iPods are very poorly built pieces of electronics sold at a very high price. Someone please correct me.
Edit: when I plugged it in, it didn't do anything at first, just normal screen showing full battery. Then I plugged it out and back in and then I got the no power warning.

No they are not. All of mine have worked fine and so have all the Windows users I know. Is that enough correction?
As far as your problem with the iPod, let it run down for at least 24 hours before proceeding.
    Before starting, read this:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305136
Even if no new drivers are available for your computer, delete and reload your USB driver.
Next charge your iPod (use the wall charger) for at least 30 minutes then connect it to your computer. Use a rear port on your computer and disconnect all other USB devices except for your keyboard and mouse.
Now reformat your iPod (FAT32, don't use a quick format) and then Restore it in iTunes.
I am assuming your are using iTunes 7.1.1.5 and Quicktime 7.1.6

  • Problems with recently purchased phone

I have an iphone 3g on pay as you go. I have activated the sim. I reset it as I bought it second hand. I cannot get bluetooth to sync with other phones and when I try and download a free app it will not recognise the login details i have set.

The only Bluetooth protocols currently available are headset and handsfree device, it won't sync with other phones.
Start iTunes on your computer, make sure you are logged into your iTunes account, then connect and sync your iPhone. After that you should be able to acquire apps on your iPhone.

  • Recently synced ipod nano no volume on device

I just synced my recently purchased ipod nano and music is displayed on my device.  I selected a song and I get the forward arrow on the screen but it does not advance and there is no volume even after I turn it up all the way up.  Has anyone else experienced a problem of this sort with the nano?

First, make sure the headphones plug is fully inserted into the headphones jack.  The fit can be tighter than expected, especially when new.  It should "snap" into place when fully inserted.
If that's not the problem, I would try a different set of headphones, to rule out faulty headphones as the cause of not getting any sound.

  • My old PC broke, it was the only pc my classic was sync with. New PC only shows 1 song (recent purchase) so am worried about sync to it in case I lose the list on my ipod which is still intacted. How can I transfer my list to new PC

My old PC broke, it was the only pc my classic was sync with. New PC only shows 1 song (recent purchase) so am worried about syncing to new PC in case I lose the list on my iPod, which is still intacted. How can I transfer my list to new PC?

I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
    Any suggestions?
