Strange alert times

Hi all
I've been searching for a few hours now and have found some "fixes" but none of them seem to fix my issue so I'm resorting to submitting a post about it.
I keep getting multiple strange alerts on my laptop and therefore also on my iPhone for events/appointments on my calendar which is synced to my Google Calendar. I've checked all options/settings both on Google Calendar to switch off all alerts, and done the same in the iCal preferences window, yet for some reason whenever I create a new event/appointment I get multiple, extremely random, alerts. I've posted a screenshot to illustrate just how ridiculous some of them are.
As you can see, they're just bizarre alerts, and I don't want any in the first place but can't seem to get rid of them even after having switched them off.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Let me ask again:
Does the application (and other applications running on that server) use bind variables?
Did you or your DBA do a STATSPACK report to see the actual cause of the problem?

  • Strange alert noise tx2

I hve a tx2 touchsmart. It is new to me and im still figuring it out. It keeps making this strange alerting noise every 10 seconds. It is like a small honk (if you will) sort of an echo sound. Like it is arning me of somw\ething. Just not sure what. Can anyone help??

Mine makes funny beeps quite often, as well, at seemingly random times.
I can't see that I'm doing anything wrong or strange, so I just ignore it.
But, every 10 seconds seems like there's something else going on.

  • I need a calendar with multiple alert times for events; Advice please?

    1. I need to be able to set multiple alert times (e.g. 24 hours before, and 2 hours before)
    2. I need a good clear Month view, with text that can be enlarged (I am disabled)
    3. It needs to sync with standard iCloud calendar data (I use Week Calendar on my iPhone and iPad - great!)
    4. I do not want BusyCal, thanks (the developer point-blank refuses to fix the Alarm window to remember it's width, and refuses point-blank to wrap the alarm title text onto two line when it is long - although they do wrap text in the calendar itself, just not in the alarm window, go figure)

Hey I have same problem. No PCMCIA No PCIe No USB converter are usefull
I recommend you to use IBM Thinkpad Laptop with DockStation (adv Mini Dock 2504-10U)

  • Calendar app in iOS can't set complex recurring events or arbitrary alert time.

    Dear Administrator,
I find the Calendar app in iOS very limiting.  It should not be difficult for Apple to include features that allows arbitrary alert time (45min before the event) or complex recurring events (repeat every 4 months on the first Thursday of the month).  Do I miss something or Apple did not include these features in the system software.  It is really inconvenient.  Please help.
    Sincerely yours,
    Zigang Pan

The built-in calendar app does not support complex recurrances.  If you want to do that, you'll need to use a different calendar app, such as Fantistical 2 or Week Calendar.

  • How do you set the alert time to default to a set amount of time in the calendar?

How do you set a default alert time in my calendar so I don't have to set it every time?

Go iCal Preferences/General and click the default alert tick box at the bottom. You can then adjust the amount of minutes before the event for the alarm. NB. ticking the tickbox means you get an alarm for every entry.

  • My iphone calendar keeps changing the alert and second alert times I put in

Ever since updating to 7.0.2, my Iphone calendar keeps changing the alert and second alert times I input for an event to different times. Why is it doing this and how can I fix it?

Are you syncing your phone with iTunes and then with iCloud? This can cause duplicates. Sync with one or the other, but not both.

  • Alert time in ALM( Alert Management)

    Hi,
I have confiqured the CCMS ALM (Alert Management) and it is working fine. But only issue seems to be with the email .When I get the email  I see the difference is the alert time is showing in CET.  I am using the auto-reaction method  ccms_send_alert_to_alm_ccms_container_v4.
There also I changed the time zone to PST. Still no use, I am getting the alerts only in CET time.
Could someone help me the resolve this issue? I should get the alert time in PST.
Another note, I had to change the time zone to PST as at the time of installation of solution manager the time zone was CET. Does this have any affect?
    Thanks
    Subramanyam Inumella

    Hi Subramanyam,
I know it isn't the answer you want to hear but you are not alone. I am getting the same thing. I tried changing the time of the user who sends the e-mail, as well as the TIME_ZONE parameter. Please update if you find out. Thanks,
    David

  • Change default alert time in Calendar

Is there a way to change the default alert time in Calendar to something different than 9:00 AM? I realize I can do it directly in the calendar entry itself, but I want the default to be a different time and not have to correct it every time I create an entry.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Michael, starting with Mavericks, the Preferences in Calendar do not allow you to change the default time from 9:00 AM to any other time. The only way to modify the alert time is on an entry-by-entry basis using "Custom...". I want the default time to be something other than 9:00 AM so I don't have to change it in every entry.

  • Google CalDAV and Default Alert Time

I was successfully able to set up one of my Google calendars on my iPhone 3G running 3.0 using CalDAV, but I notice that regardless of what the alert setting is on Google, the iPhone defaults to a 10 minutes before alert setting. I gathered that alert settings aren't properly supported by CalDAV sync, but wondered if there was any way to set the iPhone to default to "no alert" in these instances? I use the calendars a lot, and the alerts are going off constantly.
    Thanks!

  • Force immediate alerts timer job to run on a particular server

In Central Admin->Manage Content Database->Preferred server for timer jobs says "Not selected".  We have 2 WFE servers, server1 and server2.  server1 currently is not able to connect to the smtp server so we would like for the immediate
alerts timer job to be executed on server2 which has access to smtp.  I know I could set the preferred server for timer jobs to be server2 but that would mean that all timer jobs would execute on that server.
    I have a few questions:
    1. Is there a way to force just immediate alert timer job to run on server2?
    2. How can I find out which server is currently processing the immediate alerts timer job (or which server processed the last immediate alerts timer job)
    3.  If I force all timer jobs to execute on server2, how much of an effect does it have on the server in terms of RAM, CPU and other resources?
    thanks,

What i believe is, alerts timer jobs is ContentDatabase Locktype so if you select the prefred server from the Central admin.
I am sure, all the timer jobs which having the ContentDB lock type will run on preferred server.
Note that content database locks are handled at the server and database level, not at the individual job level.
The Article Trevor mentioned is great for explanation.
2.) you can check it from the Central admin > Monitoring  > Job History and from here select the job definition which history you want
    to see.
3)you forcing all timer jobs in one server that's mean you are increasing the over head for that server so performance may be issue. Its depend how many user / load you already have
on the server. another thing, may be deadlock between the jobs i.e if one job took more time and other jobs wait for it ends up skipping it.

  • Strange Alert Sound

For a couple of days now I have had the following problem: Every 30 seconds or so, the system gives off a strange alert sound, one day it's something like a soft "CLONK", the next day it sound like "PHEW" and then back to "CLONK" etc. (the 2 sounds are different from the built-in sound effects).
I suspect that it has something to do with my internet connection, but all the cables are perfectly connected and all programs (Safari, E-Mail etc. ) work normally.
    What could this be?
    Thanks for any help!

    Hello
    I found the culprit !
As I had mentioned, the alerts were NO APPLE sounds. They came from my MS Entourage, where I had recently clicked the "sound when no message" box. So every minute or so, when Entourage checked if I had new E-mail messages and there were none, I got this CLONK or PEW sound !
Well, thanks anyway for your tips - they are always useful one way or the other!

  • IOS8 Calendar Alert - Time to Leave - Not Appearing?

    Hi,
I'm a little confused (which some may say isn't hard) around the calendar app on iOS8.  As I understood if you entered a location for the calendar entry which was recognised and showed up with a nap then you could go to alert & set to 'Time to Leave' this is also referenced in iOS8 iBooks guide. (
“f you add a location and choose Alert > Time to leave, Calendar reminds you of the event based on the current travel time to get there.”
Excerpt From: Apple Inc. “iPhone User Guide For iOS 8.” Apple Inc., 2014. iBooks.
This material may be protected by copyright.
Check out this book on the iBooks Store: https://itun.es/gb/KT6R2.l)
However this option doesn't show on my iPhone 5S with iOS8 or my partners iPhone 5.
any help would be much appreciated - one point location services are on and on for calendar.
    Thanks,
    Mark

I have this option on my iPad 4 but not on my iPhone 5.

  • Calendar alert times in "standard time"

So we (mostly) are now on Standard Time. I use Calendar (all day) alerts as a sort of to-do list, the notifications being very handy for this (thank you Apple for fixing some Mavericks calendar weirdness  in Yosemite - my other support question regarding Calendar in Mavericks appears to be fixed in Yosemite).
However, when I set an alert for a particular time, it indicates that the alert will be one hour later. To be clear, when I look at the "custom" alert time, it is what I set it for - but when I look at the alert time for the event in the event information, it is one hour later. BUT it appears to "notify" at the time I set it to.
So for example, if in the "alert" setting for the event, if I select "custom" and enter a time - that is the time that the notification occurs. BUT the "alert" line indicates it will occur for a time one hour later. WTHeck?
Been checking preferences in Calendar and iCloud. Can't seem to fix it. Or am I just misinterpreting it?
Hope this question makes sense ...

Uh, this may fall into the Emily Litella Category.
The all-day events I refer to above were pulled forward across the Standard Time change (in other words, they were created under Daylight Savings Time). Calendar (or me) appeared to be confused by this today (the first day of Standard Time).
I just pulled them forward again (in other words from one Standard Time day to another) and now Calendar is treating them as it should.
So hopefully, that will be true tomorrow. "Never mind."

  • Custom Alert Times

Is there a way to set custom alert times on the iPad?
I like to enter my bills and due dates on the calendar, with an alert going off 1 week before, but i don't want that alert to go off at 12am.
I was thinking to set the alerts sounds to none; which would help me with the iPad but I also have this calendar syncing to the iphone via the cloud.  I cannot turn off alert sounds on the iphone and I see no way of turning alerts off for a specific calendar.
    Any thoughts?

You can create an event on Calendar with up to two alerts. When you create the event and configure the alert you may choose the time at which you want it to sound.
