Strange apple ID popping up

Since upgrading to iOS8 beta 1, I get a pop-up for [email protected] appleID. I have never seen this address before, and certainly have never installed apps or music with that address. Anyone else have anything strange like this happen?

Post in the iOS 8 beta forums not the public forums.

There is something on your iPhone (a music file, iBook, document or video) that belongs to another Apple ID.  Only your wife would know how that file arrived there.  Your iPhone is asking for the correct Apple ID for all of the files that are resident on the iPhone.

  • HT201418 After restoring from iCloud to new device - strange Apple ID popup on the phone

I have change my iPhone 6 to 6+. I have done backup of the old iPhone to iCloud. When I started restore process - iOS system gave you a question with Apple ID (is this your Apple ID?) as always with strange one. I guess system is always giving suggestion to the Apple ID account latest backup was done to the nearest server of iCLOUD. Of course I have deleted this stranger Apple ID suggestion for restore and I have applied my own APPLE ID.
Restore took some time and was successful.
ISSUE - many times iOS want to connect to iTunes - pop up window is appearing having again suggestion of the same STRANGE Apple ID. It;s annoying and I do not know how to get rid out from my iOS.
I put my normal Apple ID with credentials into iCloud and iTunes setting on iPhone but still strange one pops-up

You probably needed to update the iOS on the new phone.  When it's done, set it up as a new iPhone, then disconnect it from your computer.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings (provide the password if prompted), go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

  • Strange Dialog boxes popping up

During the past several weeks I have been getting strange dialog boxes popping up on my desktop and all my efforts, including stripping out my hard drive and reinstalling a brand new version of Mac OS10.5.0 then upgrading to 10.5.6 via the combo download, has failed to cure the problems.
    The first one is:
    The application aosnotifyd quit unexpectedly
    2008-12-31 17:51:59 +0700
    EXCBADACCESS (SIGBUS)
    KERN PROTECTION FAILURE at

    2 CFDictionaryCreate + 132
    3 _CopyDevice Attributes + 618
    4 _initializeServiceOnce + 148
    5 main +622
    6 start + 54
The others refer to GrowlMenu and GrowlHelper also quitting unexpectedly.
Can you advise what might be causing these and what might be done to solve the problem?
    Many thanks
    Roger

    Hi Carolyn,
Many thanks for the prompt response. However, it is not a kernel panic as I have had several of these in 2007 which I have satisfactorily resolved.
No, the dialog box is not like that. I have been trying to get picture into the reply box (it's a .pdf file) but am unable to do so. The box is a white square with a yellow warning triangle sign with an exclamation mark followed underneath by the words as shown below :

    6 start + 54
Underneath there are two buttons "Ignore" and "Report". The "Report" button reports the problem to Apple while the "Ignore" button dismisses the dialog box.
What I have done so far is:
    1. Wiped my HDD clean and did a reinstall of OS 10.5.0 then upgraded to 10.5.6 followed by all the system ugrades from the Apple Update application.
    2. Reinstalled all my apps and settings from my Time Machine backup.
    3. From the OS10 startup disk, I repaired my permissions and the hard drive. No problems there.
    4. Booted into terminal mode and ran the /sbin/fsck -fy check and no problems there either.
    5. Checked the install disk that came with to computer but there is no extended hardware test suite on it (Go figure!) so I am unable to go that route.
Other than this, I do not see what I can do so any help you, or anyone else can give would be most appreciated.
Incidentally, in May 2008, I posted a question very similar to yours regarding the intermittent and unintended restart problems but, strangely, did not get one response.
Again, my sincere thanks and i look forward to receiving some more helpful advice.
    Cheers
    Roger

  • I have an app in my app store that is requiring an update but I never purchased the app and when I click update, another apple ID pops up that is not mine.  Now i keep getting reminders to update the app and I cant get rid of it from the app store.  Help.

I have an app in my app store that is requiring an update but I never purchased the app and when I click update, another apple ID pops up that is not mine.  Now i keep getting reminders to update the app and I cant get rid of it from the app store.  Help.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
In the Finder, press the key combination command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select  Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test.

  • Can anyone explain why a different Apple Id pops up

when I use the iCloud back-up to restore a new device.
My own Apple Id comes up so I type in my passwor...that's not the problem..but...
while it is downloading all of my apps and contents from my icloud back-up to my new device, another Apple ID pops up to ask for its password.  But I've never seen or used this Apple ID as my own.
I'm guessing that, somehow, this Apple ID is linked to some of my App purchases.
Can someone explain to me why this happens (a Different Apple ID pops up and ask for its password)....and also can someone show me how to "disconnect" this phantom Apple ID from my personal Apple ID?
Note: I called the 1800 number for Apple and suggested to go to https://appleid.apple.com...but at this website, I could not see the phantom Apple Id.
    Thank you.

Yes, this happens when you download apps from someone else's account name. This might happen when:
    1.  A friend logs into the app store on your device and downloads something
    2. You synchronize with a friend or family member's Itunes on a computer
    3. You buy or inherit a device from someone else who hasn't completely wiped the device.
    The solution?
Delete the apps that are stuck with a different account and download them again.  You can delete them by holding your finger on them until they wiggle and then tap on the X in the upper left corner of the app icon.
Another alternative, which may be more thorough, is to log into your itunes account on Itunes on a computer, and restoring your device.  You can restore it to factory condition or restore it with a prior backup.   Restoring will assure that all of the apps on the device are ones that you have downloaded under your account information.

When trying to update my apps on my iphone my husband's Apple ID pops up. How can I change to my Apple ID?

If you have apps purchased from more than one account that need updating you have top update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. As the other replier said, you have to log into the account that purchased than app to update it.

You should change your AppleID password NOW. And if it says it was registered under another AppleID, the thief has probably done it.

  • I have an iPad 2.  My Apple ID pop up keeps coming on.  How do I stop it?

Does anyone know how to stop my IPad 2 Apple ID pop up from "popping up" every time I switch apps?

Did you buy all of the apps with the same Apple ID? Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and make sure that the correct ID is set for the iPad. If that doesn't work, try resetting your iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Apple ID pops up asking for password all the time

Apple ID pops up asking for password all the time which I type in, I know correclty, however a screen afterwards pops up saying 'password incorrect'. I've had to change my password continuously as whenever I try to sign in through the Apple website it too tells me my password is incorrect. I'm worried that my Apple ID is being hacked or there is some glitch or virus occuring. What should I do? Also lately there has been a similar occurence with Game Center, whereby it will pop up in a few of mu games every 2-5 minutes, I don't use Game Centre but my sister does. I disable Game centre, but after 2 or so minute it will pop up again, not sure if this is happening due to the password issue. Does anyone have any ideas of what it happening or how I could fix the issue. (this is through my Ipod touch iOS 6.1.3)

I'm not entirely sure from your description exactly what is going on. However, if you are being asked for the password for your Apple ID (be sure it's the right one) and the password that should work is being rejected, one strong possibility is that someone has hacked your Apple ID. They may do this in order to purchase apps, music, movies, etc, on your credit, which can then be used (though not updated) even after you change your password. Check your purchase history for any unusual purchases. Change your password (which may require a call to Apple if you no longer know the current password) and consider enabling two-factor authentication to protect against any future unauthorized changes to your Apple ID. See:
    Apple introduces two-factor authentication

Is the AppleID listed in Settings --> Store and Settings --> iCloud the same?
If it is a totally different ID and not a slight variation of yours, I would definitely take it back to the store. You may have bought a returned item that had been setup previously.
