Strange audio problem please help!
Hi, I was recording audio with Logic and a usb audio interface (m-audio). Then, I unplugged the usb cable and I selected to use core audio. I closed Logic. I noticed that the volume controls (up and down) are no longer available and inside sys pref. there's optical out selected (the only available). There's also a red light coming from the port (I'm assuming is the optical out). If I plug in the hearphones everything works fine. What can I do in order to have audio played from speakers again?
Please help!
Update: I followed some instructions I found on a blog and I managed to solve the problem. I inserted a paperclip inside the jack output port and I pushed it for a while. Suddenly, inside sys pref. the output changed from "optical out" to integrated output. It's very strange, anyway I think it's a good idea to go to my Apple Store to check if the soundcard has some problems... The MacBook is still under warranty so...

FCP or Compressor Audio Problem - Please Help!
Please Help!
I have completed my wedding project in Final Cut and it includes 4 extra stereo tracks (music etc) on the Final Cut Time line, therefore 5 stereo tracks in total. Music was just imported into the browser and then placed according in the time line.
When I export the whole project to Compressor, the video compresses fine into the DVD best quality format but the audio compressor has only compressed a SEGMENT of the FIRST stereo tracks?!
Totally Bizarre.. My client is waiting for the DVD and I’m at total loss!!
Desperate workaround (but want to avoid) If I have too i tried rendering the whole movie to a QT movie, then importing that into DVD Studio and just using the audio from that (which is ok) in my DVD project! But I don’t want to do this as I have not properly compressed the audio along with the video in the DVD best settings preset in compressor.No I don't think so.. I use Switch to convert the .whatever files into .aff compliant files. Something has obviously go a miss somewhere during my edit, I just cannot think where. I did ask before if there was anyway to check for compression markers as the orginal problem seemed to be rendering just only a section of the audio. I did a clear markers control+' which clears markers on the timeline but not sure where that leaves compression markers. As I imply, I didnt deliberately saet any compression markers but maybe some crept in there?
Also I found it odd why SP pro originally came up with just "Error" when I tried to export the project to it? I tried a fresh sequence with a small amout of video on it and it exported fine into Soundtrack Pro (SP).
Additional question: What is the purpose for the mix down in the Sequence settings then? I seemed to do the trick for me? Should I include this in my work-flow because it is not always necessary to use Soundtrack Pro just for laying down a music bed?

I can´t use my telephone :-(. There´s no audio. The phone-partner can hear me, but I can´t hear him! When I take the hear-loud-function, I can hear him!

Thanks for all your comments and input, I now have something extra to add.
I've had further discussions with the Apple techs, who read through a report I sent them, and this thread, which revealed that only tracks purchased in Tiger via iTunes escaped the sound issue (see above).
I carried out a few more tests while in discussion with them, but to no avail. Their recommendation is scrub the disc, and install a completely new system. I'm not looking forward to that, but at least I have the benefit of two hard discs in my 'mac running independently, so I'll use one of those.
I've been further advised by an IT friend that the problem might be caused by another piece of software being present on the machine that has an effect on Quicktime, even while it is not active. He said that that is a nightmare to track down, installing one item of software after another in an attempt to make the fault reappear - or not, of course.
It seems that if this does not fix the problem, there might be a fault with the 'mac itself. First things first though, scrub the disc. Unless anyone can suggest anything else?
Daniel, you suggest cleaning the cache. I don't really understand caches at all, so if you could give me a short idiot's guide to what these are, and what you might feel the benefit would be, I'd very much appreciate it. Will it do anything else to my system? -

my c6-01 cannot work with some 3.5mm audio jack headset .
long time ago i tried to use apple headset ( ipod shuffle 3rd gen , headset with control button ) , it works but the sound is not nice . after few month ( now ) , i bought a logitech UE 200vi to use it with my phone , but it cannot be used =.= . my phone shows " accessory not supported " ( the apple headset shows this too now ) .
i can use both this headset IF i plug in 80% or the jack and then only plug in fully . BUT , the volume is VERY small , i have to press and hold the " play " button on the headset to get a normal volume .
can any c6-01 user please try it so that i can know if its nokia problem or my phone's problem

Movies and Audio Problem - PLEASE HELP!!!!!

If I am working on the music for a movie file i sometimes open a new project with no global tracks, so as i can focus on the music, when i then choose to open the movie and see what the music sounds like with the movie all is fine..... until i stop the movie. If the movie is not playing or doesnt have the volume slider raised high (on the movie window), no sound is heard when i press a key on my midi keyboard. This means i can only come up with ideas when the movie is playing. If i close the movie and/or the global tracks, the problem remains the same. I have to close logic an reopen it in order for me to hear any sounds (audio tracks and midi). Any advice or help would be great as this is really frustrating me. Thanks, BenI use Logic Plug ins and Korg/Steinberg plug ins. I have a multi instrument set up in my environment for an external Korg Trinity Keyboard. It is no longer connected as it was too difficult to control program changes etc and recording in audio takes too long for me. This many be the problem??? Maybe i could remove the multi and see if this helps. I am thinking of re-connecting the Korg to my computer but am not sure if it will cause more problems. Any advice? Thanks... Ben

Audio Problem Please Help!! :)
Hey Everyone
Im using the program "SnapzPro" for Mac to record stuff going on my computer screen. (Its a program used to make tutorials)
Not only am I capturing live video, and computer audio, but microphone as well.
When I export my videos, they are an H.264 Quicktime .MOV files.
When I play them back on my computer, the audio is fine! I can hear the mic recordings in it along with the computer audio.
ALTHOUGH, whenever I upload the .MOV to a site like youtube or facebook, the microphone audio is gone completly or the levels of each one in relation to eachother is far different than it originally was.
Im trying to think what the problem is. I guess there is info embedded into these quicktime movie files.
Is there something I can fix for it like just right click it and change something? Or do I have to actually convert the file into something else to fix it? And if I do need to convert it, what should I change it to so the audio would be fixed when streamed on the internet?
Also, is there a setting in the export in SnapzPro to prevent this dilema in the first place?

It seemed like a little too much work for what you were mentioning, so what I tried was I opened up my quicktime and saw they had export for web
I did that, and set it for desktop and not iphone...It was an h.264 also.
when it exported it went down to an extremly small file size wit decent video quality! I uploaded it to facebook and it worked out great
Although, my other video, entirely different which I have been planning on uploading to youtube I tried the same thing. I did the quicktime's export for web
When I uploaded it to youtube the audio was fine, although the video was going EXTREMLY fast and completly out of synch.

Strange iChat problem, please help.
I just bought a macbook with Mac OS X 10.4.10
It has iChat AV 3.1.8 on it. The problem is kind of strange to me. The problem seems to be intermittent. When it works it works fine. But when it doesn't pretty much doesnt show who is online correctly everytime I logout and then log back in it shows completely differnt people online. Sometimes it doesnt show anybody online. Also if i try to chat the message i send goes the intended person however it doesnt show on my screen that i have sent nor does it show the replies i get from the message. It only shows that they reply if i logout. Kinda of like the information is there but its not displayed until i logout of iChat.Hi,

Long answer:-
It's not so much that there is anything wrong with port 5190.
It is more to do with what manufacturers are now doing with "features" for their modems and routers.
Nowadays some ask you to specify port AND Protocols when port Forwarding.
routing devices have never allowed a port to be forward twice (normally to two different computers) but iChat uses both the UDP and TCP protocol on port 5190 and this seems to upset some devices.
Now iChat logs on to the AIM servers on port 5190 (normal default for any AIM based client). It does this on the TCP protocol.
Now AIM and iChat use the port 5190 on the UDP protocol for running group chat/chatrooms and file sending (this includes those files and pics you send in Text chats).
If you send files and pics in a 1-1 chat iChat makes the Chat a Direct chat (Peer to Peer on port 5190 UDP)
So if you and your Buddy are trying to do this and one of you has a routing device that does not like port 5190 being used twice you can see the problem.
You can log on to the AIM server and virtually any port.
We suggest that you pick one below the 1024 threshold (which is where the above problem will occur and hence we suggest port 443 as it is normally used for secure mail.

Strange Firewire Problem (please help!)
I had two external firewire hard drives that worked fine but were full up on space, and so I bought another, a WD MyBook Premium, which has firewire/usb connectivity (in theory).
Again, the two older drives (a Lacie and a Maxtor) were working fine, daisy chained.
I attach the new MyBook and format it OS Journaled, and... my firewire devices all stop being recognized. In other words, I can attach any of the three devices to my computer via firewire and they won't show up on my desktop, nor be detected by diskwarrior or disk utility.
However, the two that have USB connectivity (Maxtor and MyBook) show up when connected via USB.
My firewire port is working, I connected another device to it and it was recognized.
But the firewire drives are not working on other computers either.
I am reformatting the MyBook in MS-DOS right now... hoping that will do something. I have zapped and restarted and tried a lot of crazy tricks...
At this point:
What happened?
Is there anything I can do?
I'll take any input...
Also, if my firewire LaCie is disabled by this strange happening... is there any way for me to retrieve the (priceless) data that is on it?

When you format mybook, are you hook it by itself or you daisy chain it with other two?
my guess is that there is a voltage current overload that might crippled the Firewire chips on those device.
On your macbook, try to reset your PRAM and PMU to refresh your firewire port.
Do you have another mac? If you do, try to connect Lacie and other two (one by one) and see if they able to mount.
If the firewire port really toast as I guess, you can repair it to their respective support center (I did claim for my Lacie DVD burner, and they fixed it real good), but they might not responsible with your data.
Or you can open Lacie enclosure and swap it to maxtor enclosure, connect it using usb port and back up everything from there.
ps: check jumper setting on maxtor hd, and change the one from lacie if it is differ (if those HD are SATA, then you don't have to worry).

Video and audio problem, please help!
Every time I stream a video or play a DVD, the video and sound freezes for about ten to twelve seconds continously. It is very irritating and rather inconvenient.
Does anyone have any idea why? I just switched to a Mac and am loving it so far. I would hate to have to take my laptop in.Toggle Linked selection. Shift-L. Or press the button over by snapping in the top right of the timeline,

I upgraded to mountain lion a week ago and now on startup of my macbook pro, microsoft excel and word start up automatically and then crash? very strange can anyone please help? I have checked the login items under users and groups and there is nothing.
Are you using the Office for Mac 2011 version, as you need to do? The Office for Mac 2004 is Not at all compatible with Mountain Lion, and the 2008 version has been noted to have some problems running with ML.

Hi, i had the same problem. Try to find the file "apple" or "itunes" don't know it anymore exactly. Ahm well you need to delet any information or just plug in your iphone into an other computer. important is that your iphone never has been pluged in this computer before. This was what i did, and it worked!

You should make a mapping for the service sapmsPRD in your /etc/services file (On Windows: C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32DRIVERSETCservices). If your instance number is 00 you will have to add the following entry:

Hello, I have a Creative Cloud subscription. I uninstalled Acrobat and when I tried to reinstall it doesn't show in Adobe Application Manager. I'm on Windows Vista 32 bit, using CS6. All other applications show in the Application Manager. Any ideas?

What would cause a prolonged blue screen during start up?
I have an iMac desktop. Recently I've had trouble with a prolonged blue screen during start up (approx. 10 mins) before it finally takes me to the login screen. Any ideas why this is happening? Jeff P.
