  • Zen USB 2.0 strange behavi

Since I updated my Zen usb 2.0's drivers and firmware etc., it has been behaving rather oddly... pressing the volume up button toggles between the different views of "now playing" unless you press a lot, very quickly, in which case it's possible to get a few more notches on the volume after about 20 presses.
Also, the remote/fm tuner has been going insane too, as only when it is plugged in does the player skip between play mode, to record to radio, without my touching it. It also sometimes doesn't acknowledge the remote is plugged in, though sound comes through the headphones, and the only way to make it work is to unplug then plug in again... is this connected to the other problems, or do you think it may be due to the headphone jack not working properly?
Has anyone else had these problems, and/or does anyone know how to fix them? It's extremely frustrating! Thanks in advance )

Did you install the correct firmware for the USB 2.0?
Try to reinstall it again, do a disk clean up and stuff like this.

  • X-Fi Extreme Music Digital I/O strange behav

Hello everybody, just installed my new X-Fi Extreme Music. It's connected to a Creative 2. Soundsystem by the digital I/O and to my Sennheiser Headphones. Connected like that i was very satisfied with my former Audigy. If I want sound on the Soundsystem I select digital output, if I want sound on the headphones I deselect it.
Thats how i'd like to handle it with the new card as well. The Problem is that after every reboot of my XP Professional the digital i/o doesn't work although it's activated. I always have to deactivate and activate it myself to work, which is not acceptable.
Any ideas why it behaves like that`?

  • Strangely behaving Java Stored Procedure using Sockets

    Hi,
I have a java class which connects to 10.x.x.x:2100 to interact with a server to download some files using a custom protocol.
After using it for once and immediately invoking it again causes it to just return without actually invoking the java class. After say,1 minute if the same call is made it is invoked properly.
The call to the pl/sql wrapper is made from a .net application in an asynchronous callback.
What could be the cause.Did anyone run into this anytime.?
    Thanks

Without a code example to run, it would be ahrd to say what is happening. It looks like there is an issue with blocking v.s. unblocking i/o that gets resolved after a wait period. If you can get me an example, I iwll take a look.

  • Strangely behaving Colour Replacement Tool

    Hi anyone,
I've read up and watched videos of the Colour Replacement Tool and I've been trying all night to replace a very pale blue patch of sky with a dark blue patch of sky.  Websites say use the colour picker to choose the darker blue I want.  I do this and it successfully becomes my Foreground Colour in the 2 little squares.   It then says if I go to Colour Replacement Tool and click on something with the target in the circle (ie the too pale blue I want to get rid of), it will replace that with my Foreground Colour (my darker blue).
But this never happens.  It wipes out my pale blue OK ,but replaces it with white all the time instead of my dark blue foreground colour,   Frustratingly when I click and brush on some brown rocks, they DO come up with the blue I want.
So I experimented by changing my foreground colour to black with the eyedropper tool this time so things would be obvious and to see if my pale sky got darker.   Then I went to the Colour Replacement Tool and clicked on my pale sky and moved the cursor around expecting things to change to black, but again they just changed to white !!   And when I went to the brown rocks, even more bizarrely they were still changing to the dark blue I wanted that was my earlier foreground colour, and not the black that was showing as my current foreground colour.
Why is this happening - I'm using Photoshop Elements 13?   Could it be anything to do with the fact I'm trying to do this on a Photomerged Panoramic shot.which is why I have dark sky and light sky as I forgot to fix exposure for the 2 shots..

Not what you want to hear probably but here goes:
I consider the Color Replacement Tool worthless for serious image editing and would recommend that you focus on non-destructive techniques (like Adjustment Layers) instead to accomplish such a task.
    Edit:
Please post Photoshop Elements related queries over at

  • A very strange behaving blue line on screen

Yesterday I noticed a new blue line on my iMac display before I went to sleep.  Today it is still there.  It is a bright blue line that appears on the right side of my screen, is vertical, and goes a third of the way up from the bottom of the scrreen.
    Running OS Lion.
When I put a program in full screen mode the line turns to a faint yellow.
When I watch a movie in iTunes the line is still there.
When I open Pages and move various parts of the docoment or the inspector windows over the line it changes color to a faint yellow.  In the gray portion of the box I cannot see the line.  I can't tell if the the line, a faint yellow, is there or not.
Now here is the WEIRD part.  I cannot take a screenshot of it.  When I do the line is gone, it is not present in the image.  It is present in all other instances... but I cannot seem to take a picture of it.
If I open up QuickTime and make a recording of the screen... it is NOT there.
What gives?  I've looked through other discussion forums and find a lot of ranting.  The inconsistency of the line leads me to believe that it isn't strictly hardware.  But what do I know.

I suggest that you try to run a software reinstall using SUS.

  • Strange behavior after using NIK plug-ins

Every once in a while I encounter this strange behavior of Aperture. I first process the NEF's in Aperture (white balance, Exposure, Enhance... and, when needed, Cropping) and then I fine tune the image with the NIK plug-ins; when needed DfIne 2.0, Viveza, Color Efex Pro 3.0 and Sharpener Pro 3.0 Output Sharpener.
    If I look at the processed picture then, I get a perfect presentation of the photo;
    But when I press Z to zoom into a 100% preview I get this;
    When I select the Loup in the normal view mode I get this;
This doesn't happen with all my pictures, yesterday I processed a series of 8 pictures an 6 of them showed this behavior the other two acted normal and I can't see what I did differently whit these last two.
When I export the strangely behaving photo's to a Tiff or a Jpeg, I get perfectly normal pictures.
The original NEF behaves normal. I have seen this behavior with NEF's from a Nikon D200, D2x and a D300. I have Aperture 2.1.2 running on a 2.33 GHz Intel Core Duo MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.5.6
Does anybody know what's happening and if so, how to solve this problem?
    Cheers,
    Ivan

I did some testing and what I found is too weird to be true.
First this mashed up look doesn't only happen after using NIK plug-ins, it also happens when making a roundtrip to Photoshop, given that certain conditions are met.
Give it a try yourself. Crop an image to an uneven pixelcount dimension, for example 4227 x 2797 and make a roundtrip to Photoshop. Then have a 100% view look at the new image in Aperture. You'll have a mashed up view, at least I do.
Now crop the same original image to an even pixelcount dimension, for example 4228 x 2798 and make an roundtrip to Photoshop once more. When you have a 100% view of the new image now, you'll see a perfectly normal photo.
Do you think Aperture developers are reading this forum?

  • ISE 1.2 - Bugs (upgrade)

    1) impossible to set a scheduled backup: calendar window shows "0" insted of the year or randomly "1900"... (forward button works, back button not) clicking "save" is useless as it doesn't respond (FF, Chrome, IE10)
    2) Cliking on the nad interface from monitoring (real time authentications) leads to
"SNMP information is not configured for this device in ISE" on the old version only community "public" worked, now nor public nor others..
    3) CLI is strangely behaving as lots of blank lines are pushed to terminal in between the last login information and the "ISELAB3315/admin#" (maybe this is a teraterm fault but never happened before)
this the result of 2h testing... quite a shame

  • Problem with Flynet WSG and Xcelsius

    Hi Gurus,
Has anyone experienced really strange behaving with Xcelsius?
When I connect everything I need through the data manager or what ever the name is and once I hit preview, it all works fine as far as it is connected to the local WS generated by Flynet Web Service Generator.
Then I locate the URL of the WS to the specific cell in order to make the changes in URL easy so I do not have to reconnect all the components everytime I change the url.
So when I change the url and try to test it, it wont retrieve the data. (I have another WS generated on the server). It is wird but cannot help it. I just do not know what to do with it, seems like some kind of bug in Xcelsius or something.
Have you experienced anything like that???
    Thx.
    Kind Regards,
    Jan

  • Pricing Computing issue..

    Hi,
In the pricing procedure, I made two condition type is statistical.
During the net value calculation it considers the statistical condition type values also.
Strange, can you suggest, is there any other place other v/08, do we need to maintain statistical value?
    Little urgent issue.. help need

    Hi,
    Thanks for your effort.
But, I can't restructure my pricing procedure. It should be the same way what i mentioned.
You guys say, if I mention 50 to 80, it will consider the statiscal value also?
    New apporach
I created a new alternative calculation type and attached to nete value calculation. which will calculate 50 +60 +80.
    But, why SAP strangly behaves?

  • Enable to importing the verify.der file.

    Hi gurus,
I need your help in solving some strange behave of the portal, really strange.
I have user Administrator in our production, Im logged in with Administrator account and when i go to irj and then go to System Administration,<h5> System Configuration>Keystore Administration>Content ...Im not able to see the drop down menu with the certificates its saying "Could not access the keystore because of missing permissions. Make sure you have been assigned to the J2EE administrator role." in the alert log of the portal i see this strange error "Full Message Text Source: java.security.

    Description: Code permissions for domainhttp://sap.com/irj/servlet_jsp/irj/root/web-inf/portal/portalapps/com.sap.portal.usermanagemen t.admin/private/lib/com.sap.portal.usermanagement.a dmin_core.jar and keystore operation {GET_VIEW TicketKeystore } are not granted;

Please help me to solve this if you can!!!
    Thank in advance !!!

If you are not able to import the verify.der using this irj , You have 2 other options to import it .
    1. Login to Visual admin . Go to Server > Services > Key Storage . Under Ticket , There is a Load Option to import the Certs
    2. Instead of using /irj use /sso2 .. That will take you to Import Cert page . You can import the cert from there .
Let me know in case of any issues.

  • Apple internal Superdrive won't take CDs

    First the specs:
MacBook Pro (Mid 2009; 2.53GHz; 8GB RAM; 750GB Int HD)
    Mac OS X 10.9
Internal Apple Superdrive: HL-DT-ST DVDRW  GS23N
    Problem:
For the last few weeks or so, I've had a strange behaving Apple (internal) Superdrive
    - The drive ejects any disc that is still in the drive when it starts up regardless if it's a music cd or a recovery cd or install disc or whatever
    - It does this even when I am not holding down the trackpad or mouse when it starts up
    - Instead of the usual, clean recalibration noise it makes when starting up, it made a much shorter version that is not usual for it
    - When it makes this sound, I encounter resistance trying to insert a cd
    - Now the optical drive doesn't make any noise upon startup
    Facts:
    - Disk Utility still shows that I have a Superdrive
    - System Information still shows it and it still tells me what kind od discs it can burn (if it forgot the Superdrive; all that would be gone)
    - Prior to this problem, the drive has worked flawlessly
    - Previous startup behavior did not eject whatever was in the disc drive
    - Issue exists whether on battery or AC power
    - I've had the laptop since 2010 and everything has run fine until recently.
    - Bad laptop battery replaced just a month ago (replaced by Apple)
    - Completely passed Apple's Genius Bar Hardware Test
    - Checking Console, I can't find any entries directly related to the Superdrive (could be a related entry I'm missing)
    - I cannot find any way to run my own Apple hardware Test as it's not on my hard disk, recovery partition and the internet version won't work (ideas?)
    Testing:
Poking around the interwebs yielded lots of info on this but not much in actual solutions that worked for me.
    Things tried:
    - Started up in Safe Mode; no change
    - Reset the NVRAM
    - Reset the SMC
    - Used 'force eject' command in terminal; no change
    - Held down trackpad button during startup
    - Held down 'Eject' button during startup
    - I've reinstalled OS X 10.9 twice to no effect (once over a previous backup and once fresh)
    - Repaired permissions
    - Verified w/Disk Utility
    - Verified the startup disk with DiskWarrior
    - Rebuilt the directory of the startup drive with Drive Genius (in case it was somehow an issue with the startup disk)
I have no idea why it started doing this but, more importantly, I haven't been able to fix it.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks for your consideration!
    Sean

Superdrives, yes, fixed many of them (Panasonic made, yours is likely Hitachi made)
Disc ejects after several seconds its a dirty laser diode lens (7 times out of 10)
ejects immediately its a damaged loader
Your indication is a damaged loader.     Fixing these is both good and bad news....
good news is a NEW one is only $40 if out of warranty (not including the cost of someone to install it for you)
Superdrive are a hair complex inside mechanically, fixing them is usually a "what for" for most, since a new one is only $40
you have options for Apple to replace it or another if you are out of warranty (most likely)
Contact Apple about the cost to replace your Superdrive including labor.

  • N480GTX Hydrogen Faulty?

    Hi,
Have recently build new PC however I'm potentially finding a fault with one of my graphics cards (Water Cooled). If I boot the system up with them both connected to the computer simultaniously, the system will invariably fail to boot (especially in the morning when I wake up for some bizarre reason). Eventually after a few hours of safe mode I'm able to get it to run for the rest of the day. However the graphics crash occasionally with the "nvidia driver has stopped responding and has been restarted" error message throughout use - moreso with SLI enabled.
If however I run each card seperately, one of them works perfectly but the other only boots in safe mode and always fails if I install graphics drivers on booting with the blue screen error message IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
I've tried reseating cards, different power cables etc and am now working under the assumption that one of the cards is faulty. Is there anything else I can try before I return it for a replacement?

    Quote

This rather looks like that particular card seems problematic.  Otherwise the problem would occur with either card.
Can you have a look at the VBIOS Version on each card with GPU-Z?  If it is identical, it is probably a good idea to go the RMA-way for that one strange-behaving video card.
