Strange behavior when editing in full screen mode

Very recently, Aperture has been acting very strange when I edit in full screen mode. When I make adjustments, the histogram completely disappears. When I reverse the adjustment, the histogram reappears and if I make the same adjustment again, the histogram looks normal. After a a few more adjustments, half of my screen goes black making editing impossible. Anyone else ever experience anything like this?

yup. this usually means your system's graphic card is low on buffer cache, for example, you're running 256MB of cache on graphic card. graphic cards will run on 256MB of cache but if you're going to do photography/graphic work more buffer cache is better like 512MB or if you can afford it 1.5GB of cache, then your refresh rates will speed up

  • How can i print an Excel file when in the full screen mode (no print options on toolbar or right clk

    using Vista, sometimes after creating and saving an excel file, the document is not visible when the file is reopened.
    selecting full screen mode makes the document visible, but the toolbars disappear and the print option does not show up on a right click.  How can i print the document and see the document in some other mode than full screen?

    In order to print, you can click the CTRL+P keys to launch the print dialog,
    Regarding the missing toolbar, try clicking the ALT key to shouw the software menu, then look around under the view option for any available toolbar settings,
    If you cannot find it, i would recommend you to try the Microsoft support forums, as they have some more knowledge with their software features

  • Fixed window when replying in full screen mode is limiting - any fix?

    If I have  mail in full screen mode then click reply to an email, the message scrolls up from the bottom of my screen, ready for me to type.  The problem is that it's then the only active window and sometimes I want to click on one of the windows in the background to copy some text that I wish to paste into my reply.  Is there a way to prevent this?  Graphically it looks beuatiful, but practically it's very limiting and only happens whenin full screen mode.

    Unfortunately, that is a problem that exists in OS X when working Full Screen mode.  I find full screen mode to be problematic at best and don't use it for that reason.  I just enlarge the individual windows that I'm working with manually by clicking and dragging the lower left corner of the window.
    Hope this helps

  • Flex GUIs get a bad performance in normal screen mode when switched from full screen mode

    Hi, there :
    I encountered an odd situation and it is only happens on IE. Our project is a Flash 3D Game using Stage3D, and the Game's GUIs are created by CS6. When our game switch from the full screen( StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE or StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN ) to normal screen ( StageDisplayState.NORMAL ), the performance of the Game GUIs decline to approximate a half FPS of full screen mode. But this condition is only happens on IE.
    The Game is normal screen when it is initialized and the performance is as same as fullscreen. The performance degradation only happens after switching to normal screen mode from full screen mode.
    p.s. : When the mouse is out of the view, the performance become better, from 20 fps up to 50 fps. But is still not as same as the original 60 fps.
    p.s. 2 : My colleague told me the Flash Pro CS6 be used to built a single swc file per GUI, and then package all ui swc files to one swc file by Flex Framework SDK( the command is "compc" ). and the IE version = 9.0.8112.16421, the Flash Player Version = 11.6.602.155.
    p.s. 3 : I have utilized Adobe Profiler Scout to observe the application, and I found that when it switches to normal screen mode from full screen mode, the time 「Waiting for GPU」 in 「Inactive」 grows up from 10ms to approximate 30ms which is triple. And in the 「Activity Sequence 」tab, it shows that the 「Waiting for GPU」 happens in the 「Copying to screen 」in 「DisplayObject List」.
    Thanks

    This does sound like a specific bug with IE. It would be great if you could file a bug report here (https://bugbase.adobe.com/), so we can get somebody to look into it.
    btw, Flex is really not a good framework for games - it's really slow and heavyweight. If you're just wanting some lightweight UI elements, you might want to check out the Feathers framework, which is built on top of Starling: http://feathersui.com/

  • The color of the web site looks wrong when switched to full screen mode.

    I was in a game website.
    When I switched to full screen mode, the black text changed into blue text.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Today, when using the full screen mode, when I switch out of it, its automatically returning to full screen mode one second later.  And ideas?

    Lightroom is acting up today.   If I enter the fullscreen mode to view images, when I try to exit out of it back to the library or develop mode, after one second its returning back to the full screen mode.  The only way to exit is to command Q.  Any ideas?

    You need to do it with the cursor.....
    "restarted Lightroom then using the menu with cursor only (NOT THE F KEY) I went to window …. Screen mode….. and tried the various modes.. Screen Mode with Menu…..Full Screen…. then the Full Screen Preview (this is was my issue)    Once in Full Screen Preview I got out of it using the escape key which worked…. Then I hit the F-Key which again took it into Full Screen Preview then I tried the F-key to get out and it worked!!…..   "

  • Flash Player crashes when going into full screen mode

    Hey guys! It's basically as the title implies. Whenever I am watching a video and attempt to go into full screen mode, flash player crashes and I get an error window reading "Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 has stopped working". As a matter of fact, it doesn't even happen all the time. It happens most of the time, however. It has happened even immediately after searching for and installing the newest version. What might be causing this and what can I do to resolve it? I am using Windows 7 32-bit and Firefox as my browser.
    Thanks in advance friends!

    this may be hardware related.  try unselecting  "Hardware Acceleration..."
    right click a movie or flash content and uncheck the box in the first tab in Settings.  quit out of the browser and try fullscreen again.

  • Mobile Safari Crash when using an iFrame in Full Screen mode (Icon launch)

    Platform: iPad 2/3/mini iOS 8.1 (Other versions seem to show the same behavior)
    The Problem:
    I am making an html5 app that is running in full screen mode by adding it to the homescreen and using the <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes"> tag to hide Safari.
    When altering the source of an iFrame to an asset (mov, mp3, etc), Safari in turn will crash ONLY when in full screen mode. If I am browsing my app out of full screen mode, the assets load without a problem.
    The odd thing is, the default browser player for these assets change in appearance when using the full screen mode.
    I have setup a page to reproduce the crash:
    Navigate to: http://instapark.me/roi
    Click on the big red mp3 button, an mp3 will play in the iframe.(No crash)
    Click on the big red mov button, an mov file will play in the iframe. (No crash)
    Add to your homescreen.
    Launch from homescreen icon.
    Click on the big red mp3 button, an mp3 will play in the iframe.(No crash, but it will not play.)
    Click on the big red mov button, an mov file will play in the iframe. (crash!)

    It is already switched off because it's a known issue that the macbook pro mid 2010 has kernel panics with the discrete gpu.
    Any other guesses?
    *Also please note that this is probably a safari issue since chrome works fine. But I can't read crash logs so any help would be appreciated.

  • Version 7.2.0 full screen mode does not appear in external display

    I just upgraded to Version 7.2.0. The new full screen mode is fabulous. But, when the video starts, it moves the QuickTime window from my giant, external monitor to my laptop monitor. Is there some way to view video in full screen mode on my external monitor?
    Cheers,
    Greg
    MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Here's a solution I thought should work for QuickTime(not pro):
    When you plug in an external monitor and choose to extend your desktop there is an extra tab in the "Display Settings" window for "arrangement". So, obviously on this page you can arrange your screens and decide which side you want your external monitor to extend your desktop on. Also, you can hold and drag the menu bar giving you the option of putting the menu bar on your external screen. So, one would think that the display that has the menu bar on it should be used as your default display. So, you would also think that QuickTime Player, when put into full screen mode, would use your "default" display to go into full screen. This seems logical, and possibly even desired behavior from a computer.
    However, this is not the case. When I gave this a try no matter where you put your menu bar the QuickTime Player will always open its full screen mode in your MacBook Pro's display. What I propose is some how (though I'm unsure of how to do this) contact apple with a feature request that would allow you to explicitly set a default display and to have all applications use that display for when it goes into full screen.

  • No alt key access to top menus in full screen mode Ps CS5 Ext?

    I'm using the trial version of CS5 on a Win7 machine, after using Ps CS3 for a fair amount of time.  When painting in Ps, I am almost always in full screen mode.  In CS3, you could be in full screen mode and hit the alt key plus the active letter of a top bar menu, like F for File or T for Filter or W for Window, and that menu would appear, and you could hit subsequent active letters to get the associated function.  I used alt+I then E then H to flip the canvas horizontally.  Super quick and awesome!  Now the E has been changed to a G, but no matter.  The big deal is that in full screen mode, this no longer works!  I just get an error sound when I hit the alt and I button together. I have to hit Tab to bring up the menus and palettes before I can use the alt + top menu letter functionality.
    Is this an oversight, or is there functionality to disabling this hotkey use when in full screen mode?
    Any ideas?  Should I put this in the feature request forum?
    Thanks!

    Hmmmm....
    When NOT in full screen mode, people on this forum sometimes complain that the Alt modifier key is activating the menus and causing subsequent operations for which they're using Alt (e.g., zoom out) to irritatingly trigger the Windows "ding" sound.
    Notably when IN full screen mode that's not happening with CS5 because the Alt key simply doesn't activate the menus.
    Interesting thought...
    Perhaps Adobe made it work this way on purpose so that they could tell people complaining about the first issue to run Photoshop in Full Screen mode.  That's just a guess.
    As a workaround to your issue, you could of course expand the Photoshop window to be very close to the full size of the screen and just keep running it as a Window, rather than using full screen mode at all.  Yes, I realize this isn't a fix, but just a possible workaround until such time (if ever) Adobe gets around to fixing the modifier keys to work properly (again).  I have chosen to use Photoshop this way myself, and other than wasting a bit of screen space it seems to be a pretty decent workaround to using F mode.
    Funny thing is it seemed Adobe had the modifier keys working pretty much properly in Photoshop CS4.  I wonder why they changed it.

  • Background color in Pages 5.5.2. full screen mode

    I updated to Yosemite, and my Pages updated to 5.5.2. It used to be that when I went into full screen mode in Pages, the background color was black. Now when I enter full screen mode, the background color is pale. Is there a way to change it back to black?

    There is no control over background color with Pages v5.5.2 in full-screen, or normal mode. If you had Pages '09 installed before the installation of Pages v5, then it was silently moved to /Applications/iWork '09. You could use the older Pages and have your black background.

  • Background color in Full screen mode

    Can you change the color of the background around the project when publishing in full screen mode? I can only get it to view in white.

    Hi there,
    .exe cannot have an HTML background, so changing HTML background will not reflect in .exe output. There is no feature that we can change the background color for .exe output.
    Thanks.

  • How to keep content centered in full screen mode

    I've searched all over Google and in here but am surprised to
    find nobody else with the same problem!
    How do you keep all of the items centered inside a Div when
    switching to full screen mode in IE? Everything in my "#global" Div
    shifts upwards creating a big mess and doesn't stay where it should
    in my content box (which is part of the background. There's no
    problems when resizing the window by dragging, just when using full
    screen mode. Here is my body and #global code:
    body {
    background-image: url(images/background2.jpg);
    background-color:#ECE5C8;
    background-repeat:no-repeat;
    background-position: 50% 50%;
    margin-top: 4%;
    margin-bottom:4%;
    #global {
    margin:auto;
    position:relative;
    width: 784px;
    height:554px;

    > background-position: 50% 50%;
    > margin-top: 4%;
    > margin-bottom:4%;
    Why use a percentage margin?
    Can we see the rest of the page?

  • Full screen mode problems on Windows XP

    I've added a full-screen feature to an application.  Everything works fine for me.  MacOS+Safari.  But I another developer on my team is having problems...
    He says, "In my Windows XP environment using Internet Explorer 8.0.6xxx I experience the following:
        when change to full screen mode, the application does not resize. The browser clearly switched and takes entire screen by our main panel stays the same size and is displayed in the corner.
    when in full screen mode no mouse activity works at all, system is unusable
        sometimes I see standard message regarding using <esc> key to wexit full screen and our message regarding some keyboard functions won't work. These messages do not appear all the time."
    (The second message he refers to is something I wrote, not a system message).
    Apparently, if he clicks escape, the application returns to within the browser window, and everything works as normal again.
    Has anyone else experienced this behaviour switching to full-screen?

    I just found this great site, America Free TV, for watching streaming movies. It goes to full screen mode, but after 15 minutes, it stops and reverts back to the normal size. This is the link I paste into my Quicktime to open a URL stream:
    http://www.horrorfree.tv/unicast_mov/AFTVHorrorH264250.mov
    Based on "site information," would conclude that the URL cited above is an H.264 file streamed as QVGA at 250 Kbps. Don't see why it would ever have been "full screen" unless you set this mode yourself or you were watching two different files and each was presented differently. In that case, I assume switching files would re-set to default dimensions. Only other thing I can think of is a "periodic scripted refresh" and have no idea if/how that would be done.
    Anybody know how I can keep it from reverting to the regular screen? I can't seem to find any posts here about this particular quirk.
    Believe this action would be automatic, but you can, of course, revert to "Full Screen" on your end. (I.e., Command-F or selecting "Full Screen" in View menu if watching in QT Player.)
    Also, anyone know a different URL I can test to see if it is only this site and their channels?
    Go to the Home Page or Index Page.
