Strange Behaviour with JPEG files on Premiere Cs5 Timeline

Whew! Have not seen this problem before. Have been using Premiere since Ver 3.
I am in a project where I am dropping Jpeg images on the time line and creating a slideshow.
I am doing lots of motion with keyframes on scale., position etc .
When I render the project some images disappear and another image appears several times in their place.
Here is the link to the uncompleted video :
http://youtu.be/GA6iSXkFhK0
Notice the image of the bride and groom at front of the car keeps repeating itself, whereas other images were placed in the timeline.
Help would be appreciated. I have redone the project 4 times.

BTW, this issue should be fixed in Premiere Pro CS5.5. Users of Premiere Pro CS5 will need to use the workaround that Colin mentioned.

  • View Master mode strange behaviour with jpg files

    Hy all,
I'm using Aperture, and I'm tweakin a lot the SW to discover all secrets ....
I'm really concerned about a strange behaviour of the SW in view mode.
If I open a jpg file, do not apply ANY modification, and apply the "show master" command (pressing M), there's a subtle behaviour :
    *the images get sharper !!!!*
It behaves as if an "edge sharpening" was applied !!!!!!
With _RAW files this thing doesn't happen at all._
Even stranger, if I zoom to full definition (by pressing Z), and toggle between normal view and "show master" view, the immage remains the same !
The effect is not so evident with all images, but sometimes it is !!
Anyway, I expect not to have such kind of things with a professional SW.
With professional cameras and good quality files it's really annoying not to beeing sure what's the REAL content of the jpg image.
Has anyone noted this thing ? Is there a reasonable explanation ?
The only one I tried to figure out is the following : may be Aperture applies some kind of resampling algorithm with jpg files (bicubic, bilinear, etc).
May be this resampling is not applied with 100% magnification, as weel as with raw files.
But it's only my guessing. Now, I'm tweaking other viewers and other SW to understand what's the real jpg image stored in the file : the blurer one form normal view or the sharper one with "show master" mode.
I stress once again : of course, the jpg file I'm talking about have no settings at all, just imported and toggled with M button.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Enzo

    Hy,
I'm afraid I'm not been clear.
    The problem is this :
    1) jpg image opened in normal view mode, no zoom, (no quick preview, of course) : image with a certain amount of blour
    2) jpg image opened in show master mode, no zoom, (no quick previre, of course) : image SHARPER with respect with the previous.
No edit applied from import, so "show master" command shouln't apply any change in rendering, should it ?
The only thing I said on 100% view is that such difference (between normal mode e show mastermode) is not present with 100% magnification.
    That was the issue.

  • .MOD files in Premiere CS5

I am trying to import .MOD files into Premiere CS5, with no joy.
If I change the file extension to .MPG, Premiere can import the video, but no audio.
Can anyone advise on how I can import .MOD files successfully, with both video and audio?
    Many thanks

Oh boy, JVCs ill fated .mod file extension. I hate this thing. Hate it. It's next to impossible to do anything with. When i first got a JVC tapeless cam in 2004 it ran this extension. All I used with it was the pack in software that worked fine. Well over the years I started using more advanced cams and more advanced software. A year ago I wanted to go back to that old cam and use some old footage for a DVD project, in PrPro cs4. It was a nightmare. I finally, FINALLY, found the answer after using several NLEs, converters, and such to get it to work in adobe. So here's what I found:
from my experience, basically all interactions with JVC tapeless media has left little to be desired. i have done many dvds in .mod format because i had gotten the very first JVC tapeless cam in 2004ish. the .mod files are.... almost imposible to work with, outside of using cyberlink. i tried sony. i tried adobe. i tried FCP and all results... were dismal. (i was filming in 16x9 the rograms that DID read .mod, which was Vegas, would not accurately flag the footage as Widescreen) the ONLY way i could get the widescreen footage to show up as widescreen other than using cyberlink software was to use
    http://www.cyberlink.com/products/mediaespresso/overview_en_US.html
and convert to a straight up no strings .mpg2 file. then it worked in the other NLEs. So basically the only way I could successfully import and edit a .mod file with premierepro was to use that converter.

  • Editing AVCHD files in Premiere CS5 – juddery movement

    Hi all,
Just got a Panasonic HDC-TM900 camcorder – it shoots 1080p @ 50fps (PAL). The format is “.mts”, with AVCHD compression.
Anyway, the issue I have is that when I import the files into Premiere CS5 to edit (Premiere says it supports the native files) – whenever the camera moving, the movement is very jerky, and also blurry during a pan. But when I play back the clip on the camcorder itself, or directly out of it via HDMI, it’s crystal clear with perfect movement.
Firstly – I am making a composition that matches the clip settings.
Secondly - my machine is very fast & can handle the files, so it’s not a processing issue.
And thirdly, they still judder when rendered (as H.264) – so it’s not just an “un-rendered media” issue.
Any Googling I’ve done seems to bring up similar issues with editing AVCHD files, but no solid solution yet. People are saying that I should transcode the files before importing into CS5 (but with no consensus on the format or software to use), and there is also a general consensus that AVCHD is a great playback format, but not the best for editing.
And what’s also odd is that the Panasonic website seems to offer the EXACT software that would seem to fix my issue, but when I click the link it’s not there!
    See here: http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/avchd-home.asp
Scroll down to “Software” and it says “AVCHD to P2 DVCPRO HD Transcoder” – editing P2 files would be ideal, as I’ve done this before off a P2 camera - but when I click the link, it brings me to a page with all sorts of software & utilities, but I can’t even find the words “AVCHD” or “DVCPRO” it mentioned on that download page!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    KP.

    Hi John - it doesn't have a 1080i setting.
Here is a link to a file I shot on this camera - I imported it into CS5, made a new sequence to match eth footage (i.e. dragged it onto the "New Item" icon) and re-encoded the AVCHD file to a H.264 "Vimeo HD" preset in CS5.
It's blurry, juddery, horrible footage during any sort of movement!
    http://www.maxtronmedia.com/grove/panasonic.mp4
Yet, on the camera's own LCD (and on a TV through the camera's HDMI output), this footage looks immaculate. And yes, I tried capturing footage through the HDMI cable into my Matrox Mini and it's interlaced all over the place & pretty-much un-usable.
    Suggestions?
I just printed an Amazon returns label, so I'm probably going to send the camera back... now I just need to hope the box is still in my green bin! :/

  • Strange behaviour with Safari.

Very strange behaviour with Safari this morning.   Pages loading piecemeal or partially.   The content only becomes viewable after the cursor has passed over the area.   Have cleared caches and reported it but I'm wondering if this is a local matter here in the UK.   Anyone suffering similar problems?    Firefox is responding perfectly normally.

I see a reply has come back via a previous post.   As I am trying to get a response to this one I shan't reply there but I should point out that for me, this is an isolated problem.   I do use open DNS but with no track history of problems there , I can't blame that.
In the last few minutes normality has returned.

  • Strange behaviour with nested overflow headers

    Hi there,
I have a strange behaviour with nested overflow headers. I have a hierarchy with some dynamic tables an several headers for the hierarchy steps. When the table entries lead to an page overflow, I would assume, that all parent headers will be shown. But unfortunatley only the last (the deepest in the hierarchy) defined overflow header will be shown. Here you can see a quick example of it. (http://www.nemonon.de/HeaderProblem.xdp)
Any help would be very welcome.
    Thanks and greetings,
    Joerg

That will sure work for some requirements and thanks for the ideas. But this would fail for the second table. Perhaps my example xdp only shows the behaviour of the nested overflow headers and it´s structure is reduced to show that. The real situation is a bit different. The parent containers also contain some other content. The Problem is not the table...I've just chosen it to produce some content and another nested header. Just try to uncheck the overflow header of the table. This will lead to, that the next defined header (in this case "HeaderThree" is shown. When you go on by also disabling that header, the next one will be shown...and so on. This shows, that the headers for their own are functional, but they fail in combination.
    Greetings,
    Joerg

  • Strange behaviour with Subjective Assessments comments in SSM10 SP10

    Good day community,
We have strange behaviour with Subjective Assessments comments in SSM10 SP10.
We have been using this successfully for 3 quarters.
    The scenario is as follows.
Business users capture Subjective Assessment comments successfully and these can be viewed on the scorecard overview for Q3. This can be printed to PDF successfully as well.
A few hours later, when the user accesses the Scorecard Overview, the Q3(March 2014) comments are now replaced with the
    Q2(Dec 2013) comments.
This has not happened previously. We have recently deployed Internet Explorer (IE) 10 to some of the machines that previously used IE9 or IE8. Could this be a contributing factor?
This has happened with one database on 2 contexts.  Although the database/scorecard in question has been created on SSM10, we have recently upgraded the rest of the organisation onto SSM10 from SSM7.5 but those are completely separate databases.
We have not found a pattern yet, but there is only one assigned administrator for this database and she often has 'funny' things happen on her machine. Could it be possible that there's a virus on her machine? Or maybe there's a sequence or combination of steps that she's doing that could cause this? We have not been able to recreate the situation in our developer offices.
Any ideas on this strange behaviour would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Natasha

    Hi everyone,
We have since noticed that if you go into the Administrator > Context Management > and change the "Person Responsible" and then save, once you go back to the Scorecard Overview all the Q3 comments have been overwritten with the Q2 comments.
This happened on a different machine so it seems there could be a bug in the Administrator.
Any thoughts on this strange behaviour would be appreciated.
    Regards,

  • Strange stack behaviour with referenced files

I have just started to notice peculiar behaviour with referenced images within stacks. I have been reviewing last years pictures with a view to clearing out the junk. What I have found is rather alarming in that on clicking a stack to open it all the images within the stack were the wrong pictures, wrong as in taken with a different camera in a different year. The top picture does not seem to be affected. On attempting to find the correct files using 'manage referenced files' all the wrong images are shown as found in the list view with their own file names at the same time the thumbnails (top right hand pane) show the original correct file names but with the wrong thumbnails,Aperture does not realise that it is referencing the wrong files and so will not let me reconnect to the correct files.
Anyone with a similar problem or a cure for this behaviour?

Ok I have deleted and rebuilt thumbnails files to no avail.
What appears to be happening is that aperture is using the wrong file-path for the affected pictures.
    I keep all pictures arranged by date order so for example where the correct file path for an image would be;
    Raid Zero/Pictures/2006/0609/060928/pict3722
Aperture is giving a file path of
    Picture Library/2007/0712/071223/_DCS1023
in the manage referenced files pane it shows the wrong path as above, the thumbnail picture is of the wrong file but the thumbnail name and date is correct.
Interestingly since rebuilding the thumbs it is now possible to reconnect to the correct original file whereas before the reconnect option was not available, however it is only possible to do this one file at a time, the re-connect all function does not work presumably because Aperture is not aware that its filepath is wrong.
Oh dear.... Aperture has just crashed, this immediately after reconnecting 6 files and waiting for the files to update to the correct image in viewer mode.
    GRRRRRRRRR!

  • Strange DW Behaviour with local file includes

    Can anyone please help?!?
I've been using DW for many years, and we've just moved over
local files to a new server. Unfortunately, during this copy, some
of the files have started behaving very strangely...the virtual
includes are no longer showing in the WSIWIG display. There's
nothing wrong with the files - if I upload them to the web server,
    they work.
    Here's the example:
    1) I set up a new web site in DW. I don't specify a remote
    site at this stage.
    2) I copy in 2 of the "problem files" into the local
    directory, page1.asp and includefile.asp
    3) Page1.asp looks like this:
    <%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0
    Transitional//EN" "
    http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="
    http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
    charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>
    <body><!--#include virtual="/includefile.asp"-->
    </body>
    </html>
This page does not display the includefile in the design view
    as it should.
If I go to "new web page" and copy and paste the exact code
into the new page, it works fine and displays the include file.
Both files are in the same directory.
If I strip both newpage.asp and page1.asp down to just
    "<!--#include virtual="/includefile.asp"-->", one works and
    one doesn't!!
This led me to believe it was some sort of permissions
problem from transferring the files and folders around, but if you
look at newpage.asp and page1.asp, they have exactly the same
    permissions.
It's driving me mad - we have a load of web sites behaving
like this, so I can't just create a new page for every page and
    copy in the code!
Is there some strange hidden permissions I'm not aware of?
    Thanks!!!

  • JPEG Files in Premiere Getting Mixed Up Within a Project

JPEG files loaded into my project are getting mixed up.  It's like Premiere can't tell the loaded files apart. That is, I load several JPEGs in to the project, each with a different file name, put them onto the Timeline, and, later, when I click on the file name in the Project panel, several of the different files display the same image of one of the JPEGs in the Poster Frame, the Source Frame, and in the Project Sequence.   The file names remain listed in the Project panel continue to show the correct file name, but several show the same image when selected.
I assumed something happened when the files were Imported and were now confused in the project.  To try to fix this, I Cleared all of the bad files off the Timeline and out of the Project panel.  Changed the source file names in Windows Explorer (i.e., added an "a" to the file name) and re-Imported the files into Premiere.  It seemed to work, but a little while later, some of the same files, plus some newly Imported files, all turned to the same image again.  I again repeated the Clearing process for the bad files, changed the source file names once again in Windows Explorer, changed the Folder name in Explorer, and again re-Imported the files into Premiere.  Again, after a while several of the files all had changed to the same image on the Timeline, the Poster Frame, and the Source Frame.
It's like the program has somehow mixed these files up and, whatever caused the mix up, remains persistent even with files that have been renamed.
This happens to approximately 20 JPEGs out of perhaps 70 JPEGs in the Project.  It has not happened on any previous projects.
I can't tell if my Premiere (5.0.3) has become corrupted somehow or if this error is limited to this one Project.  Is there a way I can transfer my work into a new project (I really don't want to have to start completely over).
    I'm fairly desperate.  Thanks!

  • Audio out of sync h.264 file. Premiere CS5.5

After building a new machine with Premiere CS5.5, using NVIDIA Q4000 card, I'm having troubles wioth my audio being out of sync. I am exporting DSLR footage which the same sequence was previously fine on export on my old computer. Now, when I export, the audio is a few frames out of sync. There's something really funny going on. When I play the same video file in Windows media player, it seems to be in sync. When I play it in Quicktime, it's clearly out of sync. Also, when I upload it to Vimeo, it's out of sync as well.
If you'd like to see the specs of my computer, you will find them in this post:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4211881#4211881
When I export the same file to Mpeg DVD, it seems in sync. Does this issue sound familiar to anyone?

Cripes, what I've seen looks in order. I don't think it is a hardware issue.
Is the audio consistent, or does it drift?
The Audio in the sequence is wav extracted from raw footage, no? Was the audio recorded in camera? Was it a multicamera shoot? Was the original audio\video file the same sampling frequency? Same fps as the sequence?
And, if the audio was doctored outside of premiere, is there a chance that the time was altered?
Are the audio and video locked together on the timeline? Was it locked throughout the process?
Do you monitor the audio through the Blackmagic Decklink Intensity Pro while editing? Does the windows media player also use the card? I only ask because I had a matrox card that did this. If the Card's audio is looped back through the system, it could cause the delay in playback monitoring.
The source sequence is 50fps and the output is 25 fps. Have you tried outputing a 50fps file? Is the source footage 50fps?
If you export an un-edited source clip from the project, do you still get the issue?
All those questions aside, it seems really strange that it plays fine on the timeline, WMP, and VLC, but QT and Vimeo don't work for you. Are you getting the exact sme delay in QT and Vimeo? Could you post a link to the vimeo page? Have you tried test a youtube upload. Have you tried a HD WMV, mpeg2 or DVD of the project?

  • Can't import .mxf video files in Premiere CS5

    Hi all!
I've just installed Premiere CS5 and imported some .mxf files to a project. But premiere just recognizes the audio tracks, it don't recognizes the video one.. it's like it was a simple audio file.. and i can see the video outside premiere.. anyone knows why is this happening?
With cs4 i never had this problem.
    Thanks in advance!

Assuming you're not using the trial version :
if you can't import XDCAM EX files using the Media Browser, which will only import what Premiere needs, then there is something wrong with your installation.
PPro CS5.02 woks with all flavors of XDCAM EX files including those from the 350/320 cameras.

  • XDCAM-EX problem with .MOV files on Premiere CS6

    Hello!
I've been working in a video project on Premiere CS5 with video files .MOV from a JVC camera and from a Sony XDCAM EX. I've installed the Premiere CS6 TRIAL. The project has been converted: I get to watch and edit the .MOV files from the JVC Cam, BUT I can't load the media .MOV from XDCAM EX, It says the codec is missing or unavailable... I got the same problem with some .DV files working before on CS5...
I looked for the codec info and I found this one: MediaCoreQTCodecRulesCS6.xml
    It shouldn't be working?
Why if all the files were working with Premiere CS5, They are not with Premiere CS6, being this one the latest version of the software? Is it due to be a trial version of the software?
I would really appreciate your help on this issue!
    Have a good day!
    Zoila

Officially you need FCP installed to work with XDCAM EX Movs. Are you on a mac or PC?
However, this is an update for quicktime on macs that gives you the XDCAM EX codec:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1396
Not sure if there's an equivalent for PCs.

  • Importing .avi file into Premiere CS5 and losing on quality

    Hello Adobe users,
I'm having a problem with importing my material in Premiere CS5. It's file extension is .avi and I'm not sure which step I do wrong to get his but it's pretty important to me to find out what's the problem.
Every time I try to import material which was captured on another computer, I get it all lossy in Premiere and it's really obvious.
Maybe I make mistake with opening new project?
I'm not sure which camera is used, but I'm sure it's Panasonic and it films in cinemascope (widescreen).
I would really appreciate your help here!
    Thanks in advance, Filip!

    Flip,
    Welcome to the forum.
AVI can hold all sorts of things, and those will be all important in addressing your problem. This ARTICLE goes into more detail, and shows how to "peek inside the AVI wrapper." Please let us know what CODEC is used in that file.
How are you Importing/Capturing the AVI file?
    What Sequence Preset was chosen?

  • Importing *.scc file crashes premiere cs5.5

I keep trying to import the *.scc closed caption files to attach to a sequence and it crashes on all 3 of my Adobe CS5.5.3 systems.
I've tried 12 different SCC files to go with the various timelines and they all crash.

I am using the Matrox MX02 Mini and LE on 3 different machines with Adobe Premiere CS5.5 (last updates on that too).
I can get it to export fine with Clsoed Captions, although via S-Video/Component, the closed captions do get lost on occassion and we had to re-export everything to tape via Firewire IEEE1394.
The real answer is exporting firewire on a standard NTSC timeline with the Mercury Engine Playback turned off and also the old LEGACY IEEE1394 driver installed on Windows 7 - and NOTHING from Matrox or any 3rd party to work for us.
