Strange call from BT

Just had a strange call from BT on 08000 285 085, asking me if I was moving house.  I said that I wasn't moving.  The man then gave me a "special" number to call if I was moving.
Anyone else had this call?  Is this a genuine BT call?

Hi
That is a genuine number for their call centre, the caller prob just got the wrong number, so nothing to worry about.

  • Call from my contact but stranger in reality

    I apologize for such a weird title, but something really strange happened...
    I was talking to my Mom via IM in Skype, we just said good byes to each other and all of a sudden I started receiving calls from her. I kept declining as I was not able to answer them, but they kept coming one after another... Finally, I decided to answer one of the calls to find out what was going on. I answered it as a Video call, and the person I got on the other end was NOT my Mom. It was some stranger I've never seen before.
    How is it possible? Was my Mom's account hacked?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Strange behaviour from new 2012R2 in old domain

    Hi all,
    At work (education level), I'm starting to take charge of windows admin, so beiing a noob admin I'm finding strange behaviours that I hope you can help me solve them all :-)
    We've one (big) domain with about 5000 computers (workers and students all together), and around 50000 users (again, workers and students all together) setup like this:
    DC-DOMAIN-1:
    Windows Server 2008R2
    Shares NETLOGON and SYSVOL
    DC-DOMAIN-2:
    Windows Server 2003 R2 x64
    Shares CertEnroll, NETLOGON, SMSLOGON, SYSVOL
    Checking RootDSE, I see 'domainControllerFunctionaly is Windows 2003' (DC-DOMAIN-2)
    So, with this setup, I've noticed these strange behaviours, hope list isn't too big  (guess there will be more behaviours but these seemed too odd):
    1) On DC-DOMAIN-2, WinServer 2003 eventlog, inside 'Directory Service', I found this warning event ID 1083 (Source NTDS Replication):
    Active Directory could not update the following object with changes received from the domain controller at the following network address because Active Directory was busy processing information.
    Object:CN=<an user name>, CN=Users, DC=DOMAIN
    Usually followed by an information event (eventid 1955) which says:
    ctive Directory encountered a write conflict when applying replicated changes to the following object.
    Object:
    <SAME USER OBJECT THAN PREVIOUS EVENT ID>
    Time in seconds:
    0
    Event log entries preceding this entry will indicate whether or not the update was accepted.
    A write conflict can be caused by simultaneous changes to the same object or simultaneous changes to other objects that have attributes referencing this object. This commonly occurs when the object represents a large group with many members, and the functional level of the forest is set to Windows 2000. This conflict triggered additional retries of the update. If the system appears slow, it could be because replication of these changes is occurring.
    User Action
    Use smaller groups for this operation or raise the functional level to Windows Server 2003.
    And having as result that user being blocked in domain.
    2) I've added a new print server based on Windows Server 2012R2 (running inside an updated ESX 5.5 with VMXNET3 ethernet adapter as recommended by vmware), and seen in the event viewer these warnings/errors:
    At System log:
    Error Event ID 5783, Source NETLOGON:
    The session setup to the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller \\DC-DOMAIN-2.fulldns.name for the domain DOMAIN is not responsive. The current RPC call from Netlogon on \\PRINTSERVER to \\DC-DOMAIN-2.fulldns.name has been cancelled.
    I've seen Event ID 5783 with DC-DOMAIN-1 too....
    Error Event ID 5719, Source NETLOGON:
    This computer was not able to set up a secure session with a domain controller in domain DOMAIN due to the following:
    The remote procedure call failed and did not execute.
    This may lead to authentication problems. Make sure that
    this computer is connected to the network. If the problem persists, please contact your domain administrator.
    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    If this computer is a domain controller for the specified domain, it sets up the secure session to the primary domain controller emulator in the specified domain. Otherwise, this computer sets up the secure session to any domain controller in the specified domain.
    At Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-RemoteConnectinoManager/Admin found also this warning:
    Warning Event ID 20499 Source TerminalServices-RemoteConnectionManager:
    Remote Desktop Services has taken too long to load the user configuration from server \\DC-DOMAIN-2.fulldns.name for user administrator
    3) If I try Group Policy Modeling on DC-DOMAIN-1 (server 2008R2), everything works fine, no matter if I try it against DC-DOMAIN-1 or DC-DOMAIN-2, but if I try this from the Server 2012R2 (the one from point 2), I get this:
    Simulation against DC-DOMAIN-2: Gets executed, but all GPO show as inaccessible, empty or disabled.
    Simulation against DC-DOMAIN-1: Sometimes it gets executed as DC-DOMAIN-2, sometimes I get an error saying query can't be executed.
    4) From server 2012R2, I usually manage printing GPO. If I click on the domain root (GPMC, forest, Domains, DOMAIN-NAME-ROOT) right pane, I get a pop up saying:
    'A processing error ocurred collecting data using this base domain controller. Please change the base domain controller and try again'
    After closing popup, right pane says something like 'DC-DOMAIN-2.fulldns.name' is the baseline domain controller for this domain.
    No infrastructure Status information exists for this domain.
    Click the Detect Now button below to gather infrastructure status from all of the domain controllers in this domain.
    Pressing 'Detect Now' does nothing, and trying to select New Baseline DC shows again same pop up than before.
    5) Last, but not least, I've feeling that GPO takes too much to apply. I've found scenarios in which even after executing 'gpupdate /force' correctly on client computer either local or domain admin, I can't see the new changes (gpresult says it has been
    updated though). But couldn't find anything on eventlog that informs about problems with GPOs...
    For all these strange behaviours I've noticed in last month that I started checking things as sys admin, I believe domain is damaged, or something is wrong there (not just my new server 2012R2, even if it's running inside an ESX, blehh), so please, any hint
    on what to check, what to change, what to fix, would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Paul,
    Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out all broken things reported by tests :( Guess Jesper's suggestion about adding a new 2008 DC to get rid of 2003 and start checking again after that may be best option.
    I'll try to summarize list of things I believe are wrong:
    running
    DCDIAG /V /C /D /E /s:yourdcname > c:\dcdiag.log  for every DC, shows different errors. They show things such as:
    another domain running here (not administered by us, only relationship is that our users are shared with that domain, nothing else) appear when Printing out pDsInfo (as if they were DC of our domain too, but they do not even share RootDomain). Guess it
    may be for a bug old sys admin had when clonning from his 2008R2 template, that forgot to change SID... I already noticed 1 year ago our print server shared SID with those DC, guess there may be more servers sharing SID too :-(
    Within Starting test: Replications, I see few messages at Replication Latency Check, such as the one for CN=Schema, CN=Configuration, DC=<ourdomain>:
    Latency information for 35 entries in the vector were ignored.
                      35 were retired Invocations.  0 were either: read-only replicas and are not verifiably latent, or dc's no longer replicating this nc.  0 had no latency information (Win2K DC)
    On Services test, I see an
       Invalid service type: RpcSs on DC-DOMAIN-3, current value
                WIN32_OWN_PROCESS, expected value WIN32_SHARE_PROCESS
    On SystemLog, I see LOTS of warnings/errors such as:
    A warning event occurred.  EventID: 0x80000002
                Time Generated: 07/28/2014   08:21:54
                (Event String (event log = System) could not be retrieved, error
                0x503)
             An error event occurred.  EventID: 0xC0000003
                Time Generated: 07/28/2014   08:22:18
                (Event String (event log = System) could not be retrieved, error
                0x3afc)
    Missing entries on DNS (we've a static DNS)
    netdiag.exe /v > c:\netdiag.log Showed again DNS problems such as our primary DNS pointing to all DC, secondary
    DNS pointing just to DC with FSMO roles,...
    repadmin.exe /showrepl * /verbose /all /intersite > c:\repl.txt  Gave no errors, now I must check in detail
    if every replica is correct
    And finally,
    dnslint /ad /s "ip address of your dc"  gave more DNS problems:
    One or more DNS servers may not be authoritative for the domain
    One or more DNS servers did not respond to UDP queries
    One or more zone files may have expired
    SOA record data was unavailable and/or missing on one or more DNS servers
    Sumarizing, guess it will be better to fix DNS problems, promote new 2008R2 DC to get rid of 2003 one, promote domain to 2008 too, check again for messages and relationship with other domain, and then come back here for support if needed
    EDIT: Almost forgot to talk about SYSVOL folder. As said before, there are 426 GPO folders inside Policies. Of them, 375 have an inetres.adm files in it (smallest one 1398 KB, almost all of them 2307 or 2707 kb)....

  • Method in custom controller not getting called from view

    Hi experts,
    I have a very strange problem. My web dynpro application works fine on the development portal. i am in the process of deploying to the production portal there is no issue it deploys perfectly without any problems. However i have noticed that some methods in my custom controlller which are called from the view do not run. there is no error message or anything data just doesnt get picked because the execute function which fills the context are in the custom controller methods.
    For some reason the method in the custom controller does not get called even though i'm calling it for the view. I have this problem with two methods. the other methods work without any issue.
    Now i overwrote what i have on production at the moment so am stuck and in need for a solution.
    I have tried undeplying, restarting and re-deploying to no avail. what could be wrong?
    thanks and regards,
    dilanke

    Deal all
    This is the code. basically im calling it from the plug on the detail screen.
    This is the method that doesnt get called anymore.
    wdThis.wdGetGetPurchaseOrderCustController().getPODetail();
    The reportSuccess() works fine.

  • Strange call record in FaceTime

    My old iPod touch got some problem so I took it to the Apple Store and got a new one few months ago. Today I connected my iPod touch to FaceTime and found some strange calls made in March and I can't recall memory about that, can't even recognize those number. Is there any way that I can find out which device made that FaceTime call and is there any way to find out the history of devices connected to my Apple ID?
    Thanks for your help!
    P.S.- I just changed my Apple ID password few minutes ago, also I haven't received any email from Apple that informs me my Apple ID connected to a new device, so I don't know is there anyone hacked in my account or whatever....

    there any way that I can find out which device made that FaceTime call
    No
    is there any way to find out the history of devices connected to my Apple ID
    No
    All I can suggest is to FT them and ask them.

  • SESSION EXPIRED and CPU Utilisation is 100% when called from Pro*C

    Dear Colleague
    We are having a production system developed using Pro*c and PL/SOL packages in HP Unix.
    The system is doing the following,
    A file will be decoded using Proc and data will be load into 3 temporary tables (permanent table used for temporary) using SQLLoader. Then it calls a PL/SQL package which will process the data in the temporary tables and will store the summary information in Transaction table and will returns a unique id to the calling Pro*c module. The whole process is completed in a single process/oracle session.
    The PL/SQL package, join the 3 Temporary tables and retrieve the data into an Oracle object(Collection) and process it. Then the processing summary will be loaded into Transaction table and return the Primary key.
    Now the problem is, when the temporary tables are loaded with more than 200,000 rows, in some cases the system is running for hours before it finish. And during the process the session shows as EXPIRED in the database and CPU utilization for the respective ProcessId in Unix is almost 100%. Then after a while the session comes alive and finishes the process.
    And for some other cases, with same row count, the entire process finished in seconds.
    If the same process (PL/SQL package) when run directly using a separate session inside the database(and the temporary tables are still available), rather than calling from Pro*c, it finishes in seconds, where it took hours when called from Pro*c.
    It will be highly appreciated, if anyone let me know, what actually is wrong. whether it is the resource allocation or should there any known problem in calling huge PL/SQL packages from Pro*C.
    we are using Oracle 10g and HP-UX ed42 B.11.31 U System.
    regards
    Sajid

    Dear Colleague
    I just want to rephrase the problem again.
    We have a Pro*C application. This will read the binary file and dump the data in ascii format to a data file. Then, within from the pro*C, 14 Dynamic tables will be created using EXEC SQL EXECUTE IMMEDIATE statement, each having almost a maximum of 45 columns. Also, created INDEXES to the tables in the same way from Pro*C.
    And Control file will be created as follows
    OPTIONS (SILENT=(FEEDBACK)) UNRECOVERABLE
    LOAD DATA
    INTO TABLE FILENAME_BCI_USED
    FIELDS  TERMINATED BY '|'
    TRAILING NULLCOLSColumns Listed
    Then Sql loader will be called using system commands (from pro*C itself) to loead the data into the table, as follows.
       sprintf(syscommand,"sqlldr %s CONTROL=%s DATA=%s log=%s rows=5000 direct=true", glb_connect_string,ctl_file,data_file, log_file );
       ret_value = system(syscommand);data loaded successfully.
    Then the Pro*C will call a PL/SQL package for processing the data.
    The PL/SQL package, to process the data, dynamically construct the below query and use it for the reference cursor to retrieve data and load into a collection.
    v_sql_query := 'SELECT '|| '/*+ index(b '||p_File_Name ||'_1) index(b '||p_File_Name ||'_2) index(s '||p_File_Name ||'_3) index(s '||p_File_Name ||'_4) index(s '||p_File_Name ||'_5) index(s '||p_File_Name ||'_6) index(e '||p_File_Name ||'_7)*/'   || '
             iot_call_record(b.rec_no ,

            AND    not(b.rec_type = 75 and s.field4 =''D'')
            AND    s.sub_rec_type <> 203
            and    (s.field12 = 1 or b.rec_type not in (20,30))';
        OPEN cur_call_events FOR v_sql_query;
        LOOP
          g_tab_call_events.DELETE;
          --      Execute immediate v_sql_query bulk collect into g_tab_call_events;
          FETCH cur_call_events BULK COLLECT
            INTO g_tab_call_events limit 5000;

              Write_error('S');
              ROLLBACK TO Block_Begin;
          END;
        END LOOP;And the above module is behaving strangely.
    With almost 150K or more rows in BCI_Table & SU_Table each and less than 10 rows in EXCH_Table, the application takes more than 100 minutes to complete the process.
    When we checked the session activity, it is showing the same query for a very long time.
    Where as files with 100K or less rows are getting processed in a minute.
    And the performance for 150K+ rows is inconsistent, that when we isolate the package and run it directly calling from oracle, it is getting executed in less than 4 minutes. Whereas it takes 100+ minutes from Pro*C.
    The execution plan for the above query is given below

  • Have been receiving calls from number 358504665590   What the HECK!

    Has anyone else been called from this strange number?

        Hello lazycreek!
    I'm sorry to learn you've been receiving calls from an unwanted number! I've checked this number and nothing comes up as to the origin. It does seem like an international number, due to the number of digits.
    Somehow, this number attained your mobile number, which is something that we as your carrier cannot avoid. I assure you that if you answer the call, you will not be billed international rates. Have you picked up any of the calls? You always have the option to ignore the call and see if the caller leaves a message. My rule of thumb is to ignore calls where I do not know the number, but that is definitely a personal choice.

  • Can my iPhone and MacBook Pro be hacked by receiving a call from an weird number?

    I received a phone call from a bizarre number. The guy asked me if I could confirm the number I saw on my screen. I did. then strange things started to happen to my MacBook Pro. I am wondering if through this call could somene have hacked my system. One of the things that happened to my MacBook Pro is that I went to make a make a presentation and the system apparently deleted all my cookies and now I have to enter my UserID and Password to every site I normally use.  Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    >>...when you say "...erasing/reinstalling..." what do you exactly refer to? Save my documents and then reinstall the whole OS?...
    Saving, erasing the disk, then installing a completely new system & importing/migrating only your documents & files, rather than any software. Changing all passwords etc too.
    Which may sound extreme, but if something cropped up on your computer screen, with a number included, then someone called your 'phone & requested that number from the screen, and after giving it to them, it seemed as if they could control your computer... (what were the other strange things ?).

  • Transferring call from phone to bluetooth device

    My car has built in blue tooth. When I make a call from the phone I have 3 options on the screen:
    1. handsfree link (bluetooth)
    2. iphone
    3. speaker
    If I press "handsfree link" it does NOT transfer the call from the phone to the bluetooth until the other party answers. This is really strange, and causes a delay when the other person answers.
    Now I know I can use the car's bluetooth to place the call but there are times when I dial from the phone.
    Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a work-around for it?
    Thanks!

    I would contact your car manufacturer as they have all the information of teh bluetooth setup thats in your car. They will have a better idea whats going on as its there system.
    Have you tried it with any other phone or car bluetooth if its possible?

  • Wi-Fi Calling / iPhone Cellular Calls from other devices

    I have two new iPhones 6 models.  Both are on T-Mobile and running 8.0.2.  One is gray and one is white.
    When I tried to setup wifi calling on the gray phone (from the Phone settings screen), I got the following warning:
    "If you turn on Wi-Fi calling, your other devices will no longer be able to make or receive calls through your iPhone."
    This was not an implication that I expected, but I nevertheless selected "OK" and moved on.  When I tried to turn "iPhone Cellular Calls" back on (from the FaceTime settings screen), I got this warning:
    "Wi-Fi calling will be turned off to allow other devices to make and receive calls through your iPhone."
    In any event, what is strange is that the white iPhone did not give me these warnings--both wifi calling and "iPhone Cellular Calls" appear to be on/activated on the white phone.
    So, my questions:
    1)     Is wifi calling not allowed if you have iPhone Cellular Calls turned on?  If not, why not?
    2)     Why the inconsistency between the two phones?

    Okay.  And, what else do you need to do to enable the Continuity feature that allows you make/receive phone calls on your iPad via your iPhone?
    Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using ...
    Phone calls
    With Continuity, you can make and receive cellular phone calls from your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac when your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network.
    To make and receive phone calls, here's what you need:
    Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices, including your Mac.
    Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later. Your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
    All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
    All devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same iCloud account. This means any device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
    Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off. Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
    Turn off iPhone cellular calls
    To turn off iPhone cellular calls on your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.
    On your Mac, open the FaceTime app and go to FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings and deselect the iPhone Cellular Calls option.

  • Bluetooth and direct call from Outlook 2010 issue

    Hello.
    I connect Nokia 5300 via Bluetooth and can call from Nokia Communication Center. But when i try to call from Outlook, phone begins dialing and immediately shows strange icon "D" and break dialing.
    If i connect via USB - all work without any problems - form Nokia Communication Center and from Outlook also.
    In OS Nokia is shown as Standard Modem via Bluetooth (Microsoft)
    PC Suite 7.1.6
    Windows 7 x64 Ultimate RUS SP1
    Outlook 2010 x64

    Workstations are on a domain
    Also it may appear to be more of a issue with 2000 .pub type of files.  As users can create a 2010 .pub file and it works great fine.  But every time a user opens a 2000 .pub file via outlook and tries to edit and save it requests the
    user to do a save as, vs. save to outlook temp location.

  • Strange email from Skype ??

    Hi! Two times so far that I received a strange email from Skype, in spanish or something!! I'm wondering what this is all about and why the heck spanish? I'm french canadian!
    The email says something like :
    Tu crédito quedará inactivo en 3 días.
    Aparentemente, hace tiempo que no usas tu crédito de Skype. Recuerda que si no lo usas en un periodo de 180 días queda inactivo. Pero no te preocupes porque una vez que quede inactivo puedes reactivarlo cuando estés listo para usarlo. Simplemente inicia sesión en tu cuenta en Internet y sigue los pasos para reactivar el crédito. Detalles de tu cuenta:
    Nombre de usuario: (myusername)
    Saldo: CAD6,86
    Plus, why is it talking about my account not being active and a balance of $6,86 I should have over $16...
    Not sure what's going on and where to ask...
    Thanks. Pat

    That message translate to;
    Your credit is inactive in 3 days.
    Apparently you have not you use your Skype Credit. Remember that if you use it in a period of 180 days is inactive. But do not worry because once you reactivate it is idlewhen you are ready to use. Just log into your online account and follow the steps to revivecredit. Details of your account:
    Username: (myusername)
    Balance: CAD6, 86

  • Strange email from Sony?

    I just received this strange email from Sony. First they called me the king (thanks for that), and after that they apologized for filling my inbox. That was all it said - have no idea what inbox they're talking about, I hardly doubt my inbox here is full. The email made me smile, was nice and all, but still a bit weird Do anyone know what its about? Had to translate it (the red text), cause my emails are in danish.

    I had something like this in the early hours of the morning it seems to be something about a welcome ps4 email and them sending to many. Here's how mine looked. You may need to save the picture to get a better look.

  • Problem Making More Than One ALSB Call From BPM

    Hello,
    I have a very simple BPM process, with a begin node, two automatic nodes, and an end node.
    The first automatic node makes a call to a web service running on ALSB (ALSBServiceA)
    The second automatic node makes a call to a second web service running on ALSB (ALSBServiceB)
    What I find happening is that the second call is not being executed (ALSBServiceB)
    The web service invocation from the first node executes okay, but it seems that the invocation from the second service is just ignored.
    What is strange is that if I reverse the order of the nodes (e.g. executed ALSBServiceB before ALSBServiceA) then, the ALSBServiceB executes while ALSBServiceA does not.
    It appears that in any process there can only be -one- successful invocation to ALSB, with all others being ignored. This is a pretty significant showstopper for us.
    Is this a known issue/bug/feature?

    Gary,
    There is not much I can do from here without more specific details, but
    the problem you describe is quite odd.
    Try the following, it might help you diagnose it:
    - Check the audit trail for one of the instances, to make sure that both
    automatic activities were executed.
    - Check the engine logs, see if there was an exception in the process
    that's causing it to retry or abort the instances.
    - Try running both calls from one activity.
    If you can't find the cause, contact support. They will be able to help
    you.
