Strange colours in iTunes 8

Since upgrading to iTunes 8 my music folder becomes pink and purple every time I click on on a song... very strange
It changes back to normal if I maximise or restor down the window size...
I've tried downloading and reinstalling the program again and it makes no difference.
Is there anything I can do to?

try setting 32 bit colour quality.

Wow!  I think I had this same issue just last night.
I was cleaning my macbook pro retina on the outside.  Then I opened it up and was wiping dust off the monitor and I can't pinpoint exactly when, but the colors changed suddenly.  It looked super strange, it was like green halo's and it looked worse when looking at it at an angle.  Of course I took no pictures!!!  I was freaking out that my 2 grand laptop was busted and I somehow removed a protective film or something.
But I digress...  The image looked very green and spacey, it was almost a neat effect.  After about 5 minutes it started to look a little more digital though.  There were straight lines of this halo effect on the edges and top.  After about 10 minutes it turned into a predominate issue with the blacks on screen.  I could open a web browser and it was unnoticable on a white background.  After about 15 minutes, you could only barely see the green cloud effect if you looked at the monitor from an extreme angle.  After about 20 minutes, it was completely back to normal, I almost feel paranoid like I see a halo or something strange.  But I believe that might be all in my head now.
So yerp, lemme know what you guys figure out.

  • My iTunes 11.0 (mac) has a black background colour and I can not see all of the information.  How do I change the background colour in iTunes 11.0 (mac)

My iTunes 11.0 (mac) has a black background colour and I can not see all of the information for each song.    How do I change the background colour in iTunes 11.0 (mac) so I can see check boxes etc.  My download window shows no information, it is entirely black.

Someone else in the forum told me how to do this.  If you have Onyx on your system then select Parameters, iTunes and turn off high contrast mode.  If you don't have Onyx, I'd suggest getting it.  It is freeware and used to help maintain your system.  Good luck

  • Strange colour spots (red & green) appear after RAW files converted to JPEG, anyone know how to fix it?

Strange colour spots (red&green) appear after RAW files converted to JPEG, anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.

I use "Export" function to convert the picture from RAW format to JPEG format, resolution 240 pixels per inch. Strange red dots appeared in the area supposed to be dark grey, as per the picture below. The red colour does not appeared in the original RAW picture when viewing from Lightroom, only exist in the JPEG it created. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!

  • How cna I change the text and background colours in iTunes?

Can anyone tell me how I can change the text and background colours in iTunes? I am a visually impared user and my main requirement on a PC is to change the colour schemem to white text on a black background. Most software adopts the settings of your colour scheme but iTunes goes it's own and has everything on white backgrounds. I cannot read from white backgrounds (dazzle - that sort of thing). I have never used iTunes for this reason. I have always been a devotee of by far the best media player out there Musicmatch Jukebox, who allow you to edit skins in every detail. However, recently Musicmatch was taken over and users were forced to migrate to the ridiculously poor Yahoo Music Jukebox. A massive downgrade in so many ways.
I want to use iTunes but will not be able to if I cannot sort this issue out. I downloaded 7.5 before discovering that if you want to use Multi Plugin for skins you need to go back to iTunes 7.02. I've done that, but the skins available are completely pointless to my eyes. They don't change the colours of the main components, just the graphical bit at the top.
What I need to do is change the background of the main browser windows so that they are black and the text is white (you know the track lists and tree views, etc). This must be a very simple case of just changing the codes somewhere, but I can't find where. I read somewhere that you need to hack into something call ResourceDB inside a file called iTunes.jar. There is no such file on my PC. Could that be a Mac thing?
Please help someone if you can. I would like to become an iTunes user. There seems to be more music available than on Napster which I currently use.
    Thanks in advance
    Z

In my opinion, it seems that Apple has decided to sacrifice usability so that iTunes would look more like a Mac application. You are probably already aware that using Windows' built-in high-contrast settings do not work in iTunes.
I did some hacking at the resource file a while back, but I was unable to figure out how to change the color of the background. IIRC there was a resource whose description indicated it would change the background color, but when I changed the resource, nothing happened.
I was, however, able to figure out how to make the "large" font much larger (any size you want, I suppose). Will that help? See
    http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/ituneshacks/index.html
You should provide feedback to Apple:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
I don't think it is too harsh to call it "shameful" that Apple has chosen this design path. Where I work, we are required to make ALL applications (or any computer interface, such as a website) section 508 compliant. Of course, I'm being a bit of a hypocrite, because I've made no effort to make my website compliant. If you have trouble reading it, please let me know.

  • ITunes 8 shows strange colours in XP?

    Hi,
I recently installed iTunes 8 on my mom´s XP. Everything with the installation went fine, but after launched for the first time iTunes shows parts of it´s background in strong violet and some other colours.
I tried restarting several times, and re-downloading and -installing, but this didn´t help. What could the problem be here?

Right-click on the Windows desktop, select "Properties", go to Settings and set the display to show 33-bit color. That will probably take care of the problem.

  • Strange colour and words distorted

    Awrite
I've been getting updates for itunes and it says i'm running the latest version(8.0.1). Don't know if there is something wrong with it and highly doubt there is but the colour behind my songs and any other list i view, also the list where you connect your ipod, the colour is strange too, blocking out words with a gray dark colour. Also the panel on the left hand side with Music, Movies, TV Shows etc going downwards is distorted, not the list but the Heading for it e.g. Library, Store and Playlists are distorted.
Is this something to do with my itunes or something up with the way my computer is displaying things now?
Every other programme i run on my computer is displaying fine, should i maybe download itunes again to see if it fixes the problem?
Cheers to anyone that gives me a wee hand.

  • Strange Behavior from iTunes 7.2

Running itunes - 7.2Recently had my itunes library “corrupted” or non functional.
Spent a long, long time rebuilding the library (see below) and noticed some strange behavior that has me terrified that itunes is corrupted and I am going to loose all the hard work, etc..
    1. I have about 100 GB of music in various formats (apple protected/itunes store, mp3 (128 to 320), apple lossless, wav) and when I tried to rebuild the library by clicking on add to library it only added about 65 GB of the 100 GB. I had to go through and figure out what was missing and manually choose the specific folder when I added it.
Major pain and very time consuming.
So it is not adding songs correctly, but through way too much effort able to work around this.
    2. About ½ of the itunes store tunes I purchased are no longer apple protected format. Somehow they were converted to mp3 at 192kbs. Some of the songs play fine others are now not as crisp and make a poping sound or skip. How could this happen? Are these files corrupted? Will I loose them?
    3. At the top center of itunes the information bar, where the read out is for what song is playing and how much time has elapsed in the song, is not working. When I click on a song it starts playing but the elapsed time bar and counter never move, and when the next song starts playing the information never changes. It is stuck on what ever song you initiate play with by clicking on it and the information stays frozen.
    4. itunes randomly stops playing at the end of a song….If listening to an album it is usually after three or four songs and when listening to a play list it is usually after one song.
I am afraid itunes is corrupted and will not function correctly and I am going to loose the hard work I put in trying to recover from the last crash.
    Any suggestions??
Can’t wait for time machine. I hope it works as advertised. If so I could just go back in time to the last time iTunes worked correctly and go from there.

First of all I hope that you have a good b/u of all your tunes - either on ext HD or on DVD. Don't forget to b/u the iTunes Library and .xml files at the same time.
Have you tried to reinstall iTunes? Drag the app to the trash and remove the iTunesX.pkg from HD>Library>Receipts>iTunesX.pkg. Using a fresh .dmg of iTunes 7.2 reinstall.
Have you repaired permissions with Disk Utility?
Is your Quicktime up to date? At least version v7.1.5.

  • Weird Colours in Itunes and Quicktime for Movies

    Hi there,
Whenever I play videos in Itunes and Quicktime, all I can see are weird blurry colours on the screen although the sound works perfectly fine. The same thing happens when I try to play the movie trailers on the apple site...I have to open the trailer at least 5 times before it produces the proper image for the video, but that trick doesn't work for Itunes...these videos work perfectly fine on my Ipod however, it's just on Itunes and Quicktime they are blurry colours.
How can I fix this problem?
    Thanks.

does anyone else have this problem?

  • Change background colour for iTunes 9 (70) on Mac OS 10.5.8

I want to change the background colour from white to black on iTunes 9 (70). When i tried using the iTunes preferences General Tab I did not get the option available to change the background colour.I tried looking for software updates as maybe iTunes 9 (70) is out of date but my Mac told me there weren't any!
This feature would be very useful to a friend of mine who is registered blind so any help would be appreciated lots. Thnx.

Thank you, that download installed without a problem. It also installed Safari 4.0.2, which still had to be upgraded to 4.0.3. Now iTunes 9 is happy and can access the iTunes store, so I can get my Podcasts again.
    Life is good.
    Thanks,

  • Strange Behaviour with iTunes Library.

    Hello,
I moved my itunes library some months ago to an external hard drive. Everything was fine. Recently I have started to get '!' next to the filenames - indicating that itunes cannot find the file. Strangely, the TV shows still work it is just the music that doesn't. dI have exported the Library to XML and checked the paths to the file and it seems to be correct and I cannot discern a difference between the paths to the music files and that to the movies &/or TV, see example below:
    <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/Volumes/TitaniumFireDrobo/iTunesFiles/iTunes%20Music/Level%2042 /The%20Definitive%20Collection/The%20Sun%20Goes%20Down%20(Living%20It%20Up).m4p</string>
doesn't work; but the following does:
    <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/Volumes/TitaniumFireDrobo/iTunesFiles/iTunes%20Music/TV%20Shows /Ashes%20to%20Ashes/01%20Episode%201.m4v</string>
    Getting mad now.

please help me out here. does anyone have any idea on how to do this?

  • Strange colour change on other Mac

I have one problem (well, thats why everyone posts here).
I created an Artwork Illustration in Freehand MX that I need
to work on further - on another Mac 200 miles from my home. This
Mac (having more or less the same standard and the same age as my
own, both are from 2004) shows the illustration in weird, almost
glowing, somewhat tacky colours. Only thing is that green is still
green, red still red, only completely different shades of colours.
Whats puzzling is that a tiff created on my home computer of
the same illustration shows the colours almost right on this
computer here. But if I export the illustration as tiff on this
foreign computer its still these strange glowing colours. All other
pictures viewed look right so its no a general false setting of the
computer I´m forced to work here. Also, if I print the
illustration, the colours are close to my own Mac´s showing.
Why is that and what can I do?

    > This Mac (having more or less the same standard and the
    same age as my own,
    > both are from 2004) shows the illustration in weird,
    almost glowing, somewhat

Check FHMX settings under Preferences > Color > Color
    Management. For your
purposes, the settings should be the same on both machines.

  • Render Issues, FCP7 - strange colours

    Hi there,
sorry if this issue exists somewhere else on the forum. I couldn't find it.
I'm trying to render in FCP 7 and I'm getting strange issues where colours that shouldn't be there appear.
I'm using footage that was originally shot in HDV on an HV20 but was converted to Prores. It's also been through colour, rendered through that and then reimported.
The shot in question has a colour filter on it, crushing the blacks. It appears in anything I export. In other situations where I've come across this issue, I just rerender and it's fine. But this shot seems to not be able to shake it.
I'm uploading a video to youtube for reference. I'll post when it's up. But in the meantime if you have any suggestions or thoughts it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the help.

    Thanks,
That didn't help. But it seems I've now worked around it. I removed the colour corrector filter and replaced it with a brightness and contrast filter.
If anyone else has suggestions on how to solve this issue for future issues - or an explanation as to why this happens - your insight would be much appreciated. I've come across this problem before. But I usually work around it by switching to my other computer (that seems to favour rendering better for some reason). Unfortunately, this time I'm on the 'better' computer that tends to solve my problems.
    Thanks,
    Tess

  • Fuzzy screen, strange colours, and startup freeze

    Hello there.
This issue might have been covered, but I have not found a thread with it specifically.
The thing is, I have an first generation Imac G5, with 17 inches screen and 1.8 Ghz. It has Leopard with the latest patches. The serial number was in the range of the repair extention program (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2390?viewlocale=en_US) so I got it repared for that issue over a year ago. There was no video gliches, but it just refused to power up. They really had a hard time making in work at the shop I went to in Montréal. I think they said the first power supply they instelled grilled, and they also had to change the mother board. But at last it was ok and worked for a year.
But small video glitches (with strange random colour lines)and kernel panics started to became more frequent until finally, the thing froze on mid startup.
After a night's sleep it started all right with a bit of screen oddities but froze two minutes after when a program was started. It starts all right in safe mode, but more screen oddities become apparent over time and after a while it dies painfully in an abstract graphic figures drug addict vision style nightmare. I have tried all the basic reset stuff without sucess.
At apple they say repair it at your own expanse and bugger off... lol. But I'm really being poor student budget here! So basically, I want to identify the problem's origins, know if I can sort it out myself and how... If not, how much would it cost to repair the damned beauty. It would be a shame to end the love-hate relationship we share, and I might be old-school but I like keeping my comps more than 3 years.
Thanks in advance for all your answers ladies, gents and geeks.
    Antoine

Welcome to Discussions Antoine - you may be having a problem with your video RAM, or with your power supply or logic board. Try starting from your install disk and run Disk Utility:
    Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.

  • Very strange problem w/ iTunes PC

Well, I have a very strange problem - I added some music to my iTunes and when I was changing the informations and cover, my iTunes crashed. When I restarted the program, the album is missing and when I found it on my hard drive, I am not able to import it back to the iTunes. This happens with both Import from the menu and the classic Drag/Drop method. So what to do? Is there any way to get it back?
EDIT: Tried to move the files to another folder. Didn't work though.

I just found the problem lies with iTunes 7.0.
I ran the sames songs (ones with problem) into iTunes 4.7.1, with MSN messenger (same version)'s song display selected.....the song title/artist displayed and it did not get kicked out!!!!
If it's not my 80gig iPod.......I would not have gotten iTunes 7.0!!!!!!!
