Strange command prompt on iPad2 screen

My iPad 2 has taken a battering in 2 years, but despite the cracked screen, the headphone jack that no longer works and the wifi that has to be ontop of the router to pick up the signal, it still works. Today, one of the children dropped it on the floor (it has a hard candy case on it), I picked it up and put it back on charge (it was at 1% or so). 10 minutes, 20 minutes later it still has the battery with the red line on it, and won't do anything. I tried turning it off, I tried the off button and home button at the same time. Nothing. if I pull out the cable, it registers that I need to charge the iPad and when I plug it back in, it looks like it is charging, but clearly isn't (with the ipad charger that came with it, that charges son's iPad just fine). Then, all of a sudden the apple is on the screen and there are 4 lines of command prompt type writing in white on the screen.
Anyone any idea at all what is going on?
It is regularly plugged into the TV so we can watch movies on the big screen, I wonder if the charging port has been damaged? I had the same problem with my iPod last year, stopped being able to sync it and then not even charge it. The TV cables came from apple.
I've investigated getting the other problems fixed, by when I add up all the costs I'm looking at it being cheaper to buy a new one altogether!

Are you familiar with the expresssion ..."the straw that broke the camel's back"? I think that the last drop of the iPad may be that straw that broke the iPad's back. I really think that it is time for a new iPad or possibly a refurb if you dont want to spend the money on a new one.

Can you try Firefox in [[Safe Mode | Safe Mode]] to see if the problem goes away. I'm thinking it's an extension.

C by writing system("cls");I guess there's no Java way of doing that because it's a function of the shell you're calling. If you try to use Runtime.exec on cls, it starts yet another shell, clears that, and closes it again, so it has no effect on your output.
You could try using the '\b' backspace character, if that helps.

Try a reboot by holding both the power and ome buttons until the apple logo appears. If that does not bring it back, take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test it.

The results show that you have a proxy server set and this can often cause problems with iTunes.
The proxy setting can be accessed in Internet options>>Connections>>LAN Settings.
Try un-checking the proxy server check box.
It might also be a good idea to run a malware check if you didn't know you had the proxy server set.

I have red about light leakage but it different from my situation , when I see my iPad in dark room , I can't find any problems but i notice light after the end of the screen which is very strange.
Are u sure this count as light leakage also?

Hello All,
I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and notice that when opening up command prompt, typing in command, then closing by clicking on the X button to close the Window, it will immediately blue screen. When I open command prompt, do a command, then type "exit" in command line, it closes the window with no problem. I haven't see any Microsoft forum reporting any issues so wasn't sure if this is a mass issue that will be rolling in soon or just isolated to my computer.
Any advice would be helpful.

IMac G3 CRTwill not boot up and is in command prompt gray screen.

Am helping a retired teacher neighbor with her iMac G3 CRT 1998 Tray CD-ROM model.
Sometime the last 3 weeks she unknowingly upgraded the iMac OS. It would not restart after the upgrade. She left it off since. I rebooted it two hours ago and it went through and started up. Surprisingly. Then I downloaded security patches and rebooted the iMac. Now it won't start up, again.
We have a gray screen with middle folder icon that flashes ? and mac icon.
This is on top of Unix command prompt screen with this message.

She does not have any CDs...we've looked, even though she bought this new.
Have a Tiger DVD and it would not read in the CD-ROM.
Have downloaded the Apple Emergency Handbook and gone through some of the suggestions without success:
1. There are no error messages.
2. Have tried to reboot with pressing down 'Command", "Control" and Power Button. No success.
3. Unplugged the iMac for 10 minutes, pressed the Power Button on the CRT a seconds, (wait the 10 plus minutes) and reboot. No success.
4. Reset the PRAM with "Command", "Option" "P" and "R" buttons immediately after reboot. No success.
5. Cannot bless the Systems folder since cannot get to the desktop.
It would be awesome to get this fixed so she would not have to pay.

If you installed a drive larger than 8GB with the OS already installed on the drive, that is probably your problem. Tray-loader iMacs have a limitation in the IDE interface that only allows the first 8GB of the drive's space to be accessible during the startup sequence. This problem is documented in this Apple article

If you used the standard installation process, Installer will not allow you to install Mac OS X on a volume that exposes this limitation. But if you bypassed Installer by installing a drive that already had Mac OS X on it, it will work for a fine as long as all the system components needed during the startup sequence remain under the 8GB limit. But if something gets moved or installed above the 8GB limit (and that something is needed during startup), you will see this problem. Note: Once the startup sequence is completed and the full OS takes over control, the rest of the drive (up to 128GB max size) becomes accessible.
If this is the problem, what you need to do is take that drive out of the tray-loader iMac, put it into an external drive enclosure, connect it to another Mac, and back up the data. Repartition the iMac's drive so that the first partition is fits entirely into the first 8GB of disk space (7.5GB is a good number to use). The second partition can be the rest of the space, up to 128GB total for both partitions. (If the drive is actually larger than 128GB, please post back.) Then, restore the data from the backup.

Lenovo has different F8 screen, can't get to safe mode with command prompt - account locked out

Thinkpad W500, Win7Pro. Can't login: "the referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to". I need to boot to safe mode with command prompt to enable the Administrator account (disabled by default) with a "net user administrator /active:yes" command, but Lenova has their own recovery and interfaces which are preventing me from accessing with normal windows techniques. I either need to be able to get a command prompt on the true C: drive, or reset this lockout situation, and fast... Waiting more than 180 minutes did not work, and using system restore is not an option-key software patches and additions make this very unattractive, and I know how to do that.

Computer OS: Windows 7

Already Tried:
-ThinkVantage button (reg and advanced views) -a boot disk for pwd reset program (I know password, but I am locked out - didn't help) -F8, Repair options and all safe modes -NOT system restore, as we are trying to not undo months of software revisions - we just need to login!

If we take the error messages seriously, then probably the first thing that you would have to do would be to replace the malformed library:
/System/Library/Frameworks/Security.framework/Versions/A/Security
If you have another computer with the same operating system, you could connect via target disk mode and copy over the good library to replace the bad one. I don't know if this library is different between 10.2.6 and 10.2.8. If the library were fixed, that might solve your other problems and it might not. There is no way for us to know.
Alternatively, you could do an archive and install.

I'm trying to run the discoverer report from command prompt and i need to schedule the same.
How could i pass multiple values for the parameters?
If i don't pass the optional parameters, the parameter screen is getting pop-up? How to skip optional parameters?
Also, how to pass the data ranges (format for date parameters) ?
I'm using the below command in command prompt:

How to skip optional parameters?I don't think you can. You have to supply all parameters and then decode out the parameters you don't need in the workbook.
how to pass the data ranges You cannot pass a date range. You can pass a start and end parameters. The default format for the date parameters is DD-MON-YYYY but this can change depending on the NLS settings and format of the data item.

Hi,
I was wondering whether it is possible to run a Java program (not an applet) without using a command line in the command prompt?
Basically I want to run a program that will be continually running in the background and hence I don't want to have a command prompt screen loaded up as well - I just want the program to be running in the task bar.
I know how to run the program in the task bar - but I still need to launch the program from the command prompt - is there anyway I can get a program running without having to start it from the command prompt?

Firstly, what is the source of the 10.6.4 disc? Is it the original installation disc for your MacBook, or one 'borrowed' from another computer?
It isn't the retail version, because that's 10.6.3.
Assuming it's the correct disc (i.e. the one that shipped with your Mac), you need to boot from it again.
OK the language page.
From the installer screen, ignore the continue button, go to the menu bar and choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
In DU, select your internal drive in the sidebar (the top item with the makers name and serial no.).
Run Repair Disk. If that comes up as disk OK, click the partition tab. Select the partiton from the drop-down above the graphic; 1 partiton is all you need.
Go to the options button and ensure that the partition scheme is GUID and the file system to Mac OS Extended (Journalled). Name the partiton (usually Macintosh HD), click Apply.
When the Macintosh HD volume appears below the drive name, quit DU and see if you can then install.
If the screen after the language screen doesn't show the menu bar, it may be necessary to use another Mac to do the job with the MB in Firewire Target Disc Mode. If it won't boot in TDM, or the MB doesn't have FireWire then it's getting very difficult.

Error with "rmiregistry" in command prompt

Hello everybody.
I am experiencing something really strange. I am doing the exercices on http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/rmi/RMI.html#RMIArchitectureGoals and now am trying the second one.
When I type in "rmiregistry" in command prompt at location "C:\" it's works fine. However, when I type it in "C:\JProg\RMI" (and for another program a subdirectory) where my classes reside, command goes all funny. It keeps printing the command-line without any results.
I tried to use it anyway but then I get a "Connection refused to host: localhost" error, so it really doesn't work.
I also tried the all the above ten times at least.... it is consistent.
Does anybody have any idea what the hell command is on about ?

again I mean related coding.I do not understand what the classes have to do with the rmiregistry command. When I create an empty directory it works, that is: it gives a blinking _ and I can succesfully start a server class. How can this problem (which occurs before calling any classes) have anything to do with the classfiles ? It is only in my RMI (and sub-) directory that the rmiregistry goes all wacky.
