Strange crash in Bridge

I have a folder I've called Stock Art. It's a compendium of lots of stuff.
Every time I click on that folder to view the contents, Bridge crashes. I've tried all the cache clearing, prefs disposing, etc. and none of it works.
Here's the weird part...the preview of that folder is blurry, while all the others are sharp.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

What EXACT version of Bridge? 2.1.1.9? What EXACT version of the OS? 10.5.2 or 10.4.11?
What have you tried to fix it so far? What routine maintenance do you perform on your machine?
Use the Tools menu to Purge the Cache. DO NOT use the global purge cache in prefs because it's broken and the cache does NOT rebuild properly after using it.
Also try the Finder to create a new folder and to move the contents of the corrupted folder into the new one, in order to ferret out the corrupt file(s).

• IPhone 4 OS crashes Adobe Bridge's Photo Downloader and Nikon Transfer

Ever since I updated my old iPhone 3G to the new OS4, it crashed Adobe Bridge's Photo Downloader, and I don't like to use iPhoto, so I won't. I haven't for years. I just bought the iPhone 4 fully expecting that the non-Apple photo utilities would get pictures off the camera, but no dice. The iPhone 4 crashes dobe Bridge's Photo Downloader too. I HATE using iPhoto for offloading. I wonder when Apple will deal with this.

2 days ago I had my iPhone G3S with OS 4.02 attached by usb cord to load on songs from iTunes which was open. I opened up Bridge to offload photos from the iPhone. My computer froze and I had to force quit it with the off/start button. Since then even though I have completely uninstalled and then reinstalled the Adobe CS4 suite, Bridge still refuses to open and crashes every time. I reported the problem to Apple. I think this problem is not isolated and a bit more serious than first thought.
I hate the idea of reinstalling every thing and still not solving the problem.

• Help me obi wan kenobi, your my only hope... -Strange crash

I am having a strange crash, there is no software trigger and it happens very suddenly. The screen displays garbled pixels and patterny pixelation like this

It happens roughly 6 minutes after my computer starts up. if I restart it will crash the Load screen as well, and not boot at all freezing at the load screen. If I wait 20 minutes it will load fully and completely then crash 6 minutes in again.
I had just reinstalled 10.6.3 over what was there and not a complete format of the HD. This was a week ago and I use my computer a lot (4-8 hours a day)
Hapefully someone can decipher the Crash Log and pinpoint a device or software issue that is causing it.

When it crashes, does it crash with the "kernel panic screen" or simply just freeze? The KP screen looks like this:
http://www.dashboardwidgets.com/showcase/details.php?wid=1665
Right off the bat, from looking at your screenshot it looks like a graphic card dying possibly. What graphics card are u using?
If not the graphics card, then maybe ram which is why I asked if u get the kp screen. Although maybe not likely, I have seen strange graphical glitches when bad ram is installed.

• Crash using Bridge

Again problem with camera raw in Bridge.
Many times, clicking on done after some modifications on RAW files, the system crash.

Ok Barbara,
I've downloaded Combo updater.
I didn’t found files like com.adobe.bridge.plist in librery/prferences, maybe I made a wrong search?
In finder/application I found what s shoved in the enclosure.
The problem unfortunately is not fixed.

Okay, then it's not a clone. TM only restores documents/settings/etc, not your system.
Here's what I would do. Go here and download the combo updater for 10.7.3:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484
Then run that. Repair permissions.
Now go to  your username>library>preferences and delete everything that is anything like com.adobe.bridge.plist (there may be more than one and some may have numbers). Also any lockfiles with the same name. This library file is hidden in 10.7. Option click the Go menu in the Finder and it will appear below the little house for your user account. While you're in there, go to the Saved Application States folder and delete anything in there relating to PSE or bridge.

• Strange crash with Intel FFT in Windows XP x64: only when first starting LabVIEW and opening VI, not when opening VI by double-clicking

When I use the Intel FFT libraries(MKL), I seem to have a strange crash whenever I start allocating the Intel DFTI descriptors. I call a DLL from LabVIEW 8.2.1, in which these functions are used. I am working on Windows XP x64. This seems like a bug which was present in these libraries, but I got the libraries where the bug was resolved.
The strange things is that, when I open LabVIEW and then open the VI, LabVIEW crashes from the moment I allocate an Intel Dfti descriptor. But when I just double-click the VI and open it this way, I can run the VI without a crash! I already removed the DLLs in \Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\MKL\MKL70 to see if they were the cause. But even without them, I still get the crash.
I know there was a strange crash in the previous version of Intel MKL when calling a DLL and allocating this type of descriptor, so it seems like somewhere LabVIEW still uses old versions of some of these DLLs. But even then, can this explain the difference in behaviour between opening the VI through LabVIEW or directly? And if so, were could I find these DLLs? I've already searched from them everywhere.

Update:
- Opening the single VIs directly by double-clicking indeed solves the crash: from then on I can run all VIs using the libraries without any problem. So LabVIEW must do something strange when it is opened.
- Linking my DLLs statically against the Intel libraries ALSO solves the prolbem. So this seems to indicate LabVIEW loads some dynamic library which screws up everything. But only on x64 systems . This bloats my DLL, but currently I do not see another work-around.
Anyone has any more ideas? Otherwise I can always submit some test case to LabVIEW support.

• Strange crash right after grub

Hello,
I have a really strange crash for two weeks now.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18292748/IMG015.jpg
This happens sometimes and after a restart or 2 (sometimes more) the system boots normally. This first happened after the electricity went down for 15 minutes and I thought it was a hardware problem, but then I installed dropbox and synced my machine at work with this one and I got the same problem there too. I thought there was a corrupted file so I uninstalled dropbox, removed all files (except some very important ones) but I'm still getting the same error.
Now I have no idea what's going on.
Thanks

Sounds like this one

• Photoshop crashing/Adobe Bridge

Photoshop CC crashed about a month ago while trying to complete a batch process from Adobe Bridge CC. Now whenever I try to open Photoshop or a PSD file, Photoshop attempts to "recover" these damaged files, it freezes up the program, as well as my computer. I then have to do a hard restart.
I can't find the Photoshop Cache files to delete the document recovery files that are causing the issue.
I am using a Mac

Yeah, these are the files that I can't find. The "cache" files I referred to, or the recovery files. That's why I was hoping that deleting Adobe CC would re-set the folder structure/remove the unlinked files.
Since I can't open Photoshop, I can't access the preferences to change or update my scratch disk preferences, either.

• Crashing Adobe Bridge

My staff member's Adobe Bridge (CS6, Creative Cloud) keeps crashing on her brand new Mac. It happens consistenly when she clicks on a particular favorite. That favorite points to a share on a Windows server. Our company is 95% Windows, very few Macs. We're exceptions. But, besides that, we never have problems communicating with Windows shares. I uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign and Illustrator, forgetting exactly which one installed Bridge, but, it still crashes.
Thanks.

• When restarting server after a crash, Messaging bridges are not starting

Hi,
We have Messaging bridge configured with Exactly-Once QOS to read messages from IBM Websphere MQ to Weblogic distributed Queue. We are using Weblogic 10gR3.
1. We killed the weblogic server which was reading message from source destination(IBM MQ). We did this to check whether any message is lost when a server crashes.
2. Then we restarted the weblogic application server and checked the weblogic messaging bridge status.
3. The messaging bridge was not started properly and the following Exception was thrown.

Hi,
*The server was started in warning mode and the JTA was declared unhealthy. I saw 2 transaction alive for more than 2000 seconds which is uncommon.
*The resource adaptor was started properly.
*We are using file store. But will it make a difference?
Thanks!

• Crash ruins Bridge

I had Bridge CS3 running when my computer froze and I had to do a force shut down.
Now, when I try to open Bridge,
I get this report, under the title, The Application Bridge CS3 has unexpectedly quit.
A crash report has been generated.  To provide us with the best chance of fixing this problem, please select Continue to add a detailed description that includes the steps required to reproduce the crash.
Adobe will use this crash report to help find a future solution to this problem.
I need to get Bridge up and running again asap, but I have no idea where the original software is.
What do I need to do?

What do I need to do?
Restart Bridge holding down option key and choose refresh preferences. Try
again, if no luck see also the solution in the end of the thread called
Bridge CS5 is crawling.
It is the same way only Bridge4 is Bridge2 in plist file and it is about CS3
BTW,
there is no need for worrying about not knowing where your original software
is as long as you have a valid serial number for that software. You can do a
search on Adobe.com for your version to download and use the valid serial
number upon install to be back in business.
That said, it shows the importance of handling and back up your original
software and serial numbers as well as registering your software when you
start using it

• GIF files crash PS6 Bridge after installing Mavericks

I just installed Mavericks on my 2011 MBP i7 SSD w/ 16 gigs of ram. When I attempt to open any GIF from Bridge 6 it crashes Bridge. I can open a GIF file directly from PS without a problem.
also
I use Freeway for building my 2 websites. When I attempt to upload some changes on onr of my sites it crashed the app.
Your comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated
jerry

Do you mean Bridge CS6? I would suggest posting in Adobe's Bridge forum -> http://forums.adobe.com/community/bridge.
I have Bridge CC and have had no problems with it.

• Thinkpad R31, strange crashing, perhaps because of hibernation or what

Hi,
Few weeks ago I've installed Arch Linux (with LXDE) on my older laptop - Thinkpad R31.
Except of this problem which I'll describe below, everything else works fine.
The problem is some unexpected crash.
Well, to be more precise, I'm quite not sure if it's a crash, because it happens only after some time, when the screen goes black because of power saving.
This brings me to an speculation, that it can be some sort of hibernation/suspend regime as well. But I'm not sure of it, if it's really going to sleep or what happens.
Anyway, I'm unable to resurrect from that black (power saving) screen anymore, and I'm forced to hardly shut down the system.
I've already checked the logs in /var/log/ , but I didn't found anything interesting in there from or around of the time of another forced start.
And I don't know where or what else to look for.
I'm starting just these services after the start of system:
        rc.conf:
        DAEMONS=(@syslog-ng network @netfs @crond @sshd @alsa dbus hal @wicd @laptop-mode slim)
I even tried to stop some of them (netfs, alsa, wicd, laptop-mode acpid) in case that one of them might be causing this, but didn't helped.
Just in case that it can help, I'm using this option "i915.modeset=0" with grub when booting (without it I can't use the system). http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 77#p759477
Thanks in advance for any hint,
8472

Looks like I've found the problem.
It seems to be the http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Slim
When disabled, and switched to e.g. http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CDM , I don't have any problem anymore.
Strange, but I'm glad that I've found it.

• Strange Crashes, VRAM related?

Hello, I've been using my MacBook Pro 17" just fine all year, except yesterday it started having a strange freeze/crash. Usually I'm heavily using my computer, running several programs like iTunes, Firefox, and maybe WarCraft 3 or Photoshop. Anyways, there will be a few these weird gradients that scroll down the screen, from gray, to grayer (is that a word? lol), to black, and finally with a system message that says I must restart my computer by manually turning it off. I downloaded and ran TechTool Delux (from apple.com), and when it runs the Video RAM test, I get the same strange gradients coming down the screen (white this time), but no crash? After it runs the test, the system seems to return to normal. Any ideas?!

Can you tell what it is from this?
