Strange email from Sony?

I just received this strange email from Sony. First they called me the king (thanks for that), and after that they apologized for filling my inbox. That was all it said - have no idea what inbox they're talking about, I hardly doubt my inbox here is full. The email made me smile, was nice and all, but still a bit weird Do anyone know what its about? Had to translate it (the red text), cause my emails are in danish.  

I had something like this in the early hours of the morning it seems to be something about a welcome ps4 email and them sending to many. Here's how mine looked. You may need to save the picture to get a better look.

    Apparently you have not you use your Skype Credit. Remember that if you use it in a period of 180 days is inactive. But do not worry because once you reactivate it is idlewhen you are ready to use. Just log into your online account and follow the steps to revivecredit. Details of your account:

  • Recieved strange email from icloud...

    In the mail it asks for verification of my account... Name, email, password, and additional email.
    When clicking on the link I go to a webpage that does not say mac, apple, or icloud in the url.
    Seems strange to me, is this legit?

    I recieved the following strange message from Adobe :
    You have used all the .folio downloads purchased as part of your Digital Publishing account. It is important that you purchase another .folio download bundle immediately to ensure no disruption in fulfillment of your content."
    This regarding my purchase of  single edition license few months ago. is there a limit on the number of downloads of a single edition license ?

    I have the same email! I have a monthly PROFESSIONAL DPS suscription but  just have used single edition in the viewer biulder!!!!! What hapennsss???? I have never used my folio downloads. Actually yesterday before DPS becomes on mantainance y see all my folio downloads avilable, two hours latter i got this email and all my folio downolads were on 0!!!!  This is a joke??? It's impossible!
    Please help!

    Changing the password was a good move. It could also be that the email was a scam. Did it ask you to verify your info? What was the sender's email address?

    I recieved an email from the Apple store, assuring me that I will receive my new phone Friday has anyone else received a similar email? I don't understand why. I received an email late last night telling me that it had shipped and stated a later date than the 19th. Then I checked tracking and it stated that delivery would be the 18th. Later that was gone and there was no date for delivery. I am so confused as to what is happening. Is there anyone else facing the same situation?

    I received the same e-mail as you, my delivery date is stated as 6/22 by UPS but Apple sent me an e-mail stating "we expect your iPhone order to be delivered on time on June 19, 2009". I wouldn't quite call it an assurance, just a statement that Apple expects us to get it. In reality, it's in UPS's hands and unless I see the Delivery Date updated to 6/19 I will be very surprised to see it delivered before 6/22.

  • Strange email from Apple

    So I got an email today from [email protected] thanking me for purchasing my Mac. The problem is I bought this Mac Book Pro in the Spring of 2009. The email doesn't give any other specifics, just links to other parts of the apple site to learn more about my mac.
    I just registered my Final Cut Pro program last night, so I thought maybe it's from that, but wouldn't the email say something like "Thank you for registering FCP?" I looked to see if I got any other emails from apple still in my inbox, and I do from back when I bought it, one saying thanks for registering the Mac Book Pro and the other just saying they hoped I enjoyed the visit to the Mac store.
    Can anyone shed any light on this? I know the email's a legit email from apple, but it's the content that's concerning me.

    Looks legit enough - but I'm not the person to judge that because I've never gotten one - I immediately uncheck any and all "get updates/marketing/sell-you-something/flood your inbox with superfluous stuff" offers everywhere. Keeps the spam at a reasonable level.

    Hi,
      Today I received an email from BT that I had used 7GB of 10GB, not that unusual since I do use my connection for online gaming. However, as an option 3 customer I should have a limit of 100GB (I have checked my profile at btinternet.com and it agrees that I am option 3). Has anyone else had this message and is there a specific number I could phone to inquire with BT?

    Indeed it was me. A user did report receiving the 100GB email by mistake (not a welcome email).

    As a Network Administrator I understand how these emails at first glance appear to be legitimate. Everything about them seems legitimate. That is why before commenting further, I waited for a response from Apple concerning this matter before confirming my worst fear. And as MiniBeast has stated: "I have figured it to be a phishing scam.", "it raised red flags immediately", "it's definitely a Phishing Scam to steal info." turns out to be correct and the word needs to get out to Apple customers as soon as possible, before any damage may be done.
    As confirmed by Apple it is indeed an Phising scam. The links appear to be legitimate. They seems to point to Apple and above all, the very worst part is that they appear to be emailed from a legitimate Apple email server, when in fact it was not sent from Apple, as confirmed by the following response from Itunes support.
    It is indeed a confirmed scam sent by hackers who could have only pulled this off by a DNS poisoning attack, but for me still seems fishy because of whois confirmation, but Apple confirms it did not come from them.

    For me, when I got this email, it seemed fishy to me as well, I opened it and it went to Apple, I closed out that browser and opened a different browser and went to Apple and reset my password and contacted support and then responded to this post above. With DNS poisoning it seems that the links are real because your browser says apple.com/... when in fact the links are completely fake sending you to a completely different server. And it even appears to be emailed from Apple, which, as confirmed by Apple, it was not.
    The word needs to get out especially to all Apple customers, that this particular email is fake and a Phishing attack designed to get the users Apple ID login. I would not have believed it myself unless confirmed by Apple.

    Hi, I have requested an email from http://developer.sonymobile.com/ to unlock my bootloader on my z1 however it has been an hour and I have had no email, I have used 3 different email addresses and still nothing.
    What can I do?

    hey there , i had the same problem with my z1 , tried it serveral times with different emails and at a different time.
    finally worked with an arcor email, took still about 20 minutes until the mail came into my inbox.
    just read that arcor doesnt provide new memberships but you may fix this with another web hoster

    This is an excellent response Alancito, to a question that was handled well by TojoW who posted here rather than replying to the email.
    To those of us who have been connected to the Internet since it began have seen this question hundreds of times, and it may seem to those of us who have seen this type of question come up over and over in every type of forum where we have been members that it has been asked and answered enough times that it may seem redundant but I have to comment that it is not no matter how often it is asked.
    I have seen answers in every forum where I have been a member which put down the original poster as someone who should have known and recognized this type of email immediately, but there is a first time for all of us and I am very impressed with the answers given here which praise TojoW for the proper response to receiving such a phishing email.  These emails have become so realistic appearing that even the most observant are open to deception while we depend upon our anti-phishing software to catch such attempts to steal our identities or personal information.
    I don't recall encountering this question, which is asked repeatedly in some form, that has received such an understanding and correct response to a problem that has become so sophisticated that the phishing email warns within its message against answering such messages.
    Everyone encounters this a first time and if we are like TojoW we post somewhere and don't answer the bogus email, but this is the first forum where I see support and praise for asking the question so that those who are encountering this for the first time are given the answer straight out, and no one has made the disparaging comments I have encountered at least once every time I have seen this come up, where a person has made the post and someone has responded with something along the lines of "everyone knows this by now", when in truth, every day all over the world there are people new to the Internet, and if they see a suspicious email like the one mentioned simply are not immediately knowledgable about every danger that is likely to be encountered when using the Internet. 
    This issue needs to come up and always will until or if someone invents a foolproof phishing detector, and although many of these are caught by spam filters, some still get through.
    This question needs to be asked and answered appropriately as it has here in this forum, and it will need to be asked again and again because as has been seen here, the phishing email warns against itself which when encountered by a new or even experienced Internet user, we need people who ask the question before they have their information stolen, and we need straightforward and understanding and supporting answers as I see has been done here. 
    This will continue to be an issue for a long time, and I am very pleased to see both the question and answers handled in a straightforward and helpful manner because I see this appropriate question asked often as it needs to be, but I have never seen it answered without someone commenting that everyone should know not to reply to such emails, and I don't recall ever encountering such a question without someone objecting to the question being asked because everyone should know not to answer such an email. 
    These phishing attempts have become so expertly written that they fool the best anti-phishing software, and we all need to continue to be aware of how sophisticated these messages have become, no matter if it is our first or our thousandth time encountering this very necessary question and excellent answer.
    I just want to say that i am impressed with the way this important question has been asked and answered in such an appropriate manner, and that I hope it will continue to be answered as professionally as many times as this is asked and answered.  Very well done on all sides everyone.

  • STRANGE EMAIL from 'Synchrony Bank"....

    Got  up this morning, and Im checking my emails on my phone, and I see one from "Synchrony Bank"...regarding my "Dillards "App...well, here's the kicker though..... 1). Wells Fargo backs the card2) I havent applied for a Dillards card since April 23rd., which resulted in a denial for too many new accts and inquires, from WF, and  (rghtfully so too!...but who cares)  SO...Now Im a littled miffed by the weird email, and wondering who I contact for this. Wells Fargo or Synchony to let them know....and of course if I find out someone kept my app from April 23, and re-submitted it,  all hell is gonna break loose on someone. I totally OWN UP to all my apps, and I havent apped for ANYTHING since end of May which resulted in Approvals. Im gardening!!!   oh, and when I try to click on the "click here" for your response, (it even had a Ref # provided), the next page is black, and says "PDF cannot be displayed"....could this be a delayed response again from my April 23rd app?  i just got a new phone, and its acting weird too, like my Dad called me out of the blue and says, "did you just call me and hang up"?...Im like, no.

    I'm guessing SOPHOS_SAVI_ERROR_OLD_VIRUS_DATA is not a real virus, but SAP is just using Sophos software and their database went haywire. Not sure how to notify the sender since SAP is the sender themselves. And what's the CSN ticket?
    Has anyone else gotten an email like this and is there anything we should be concerned about?
