Strange errors using Flynet with Xcelsius Engage Server
Each time I try to create a WebService I get an entire screen full of errors. Here are a few of the error numbers:
CS1513
CS1001
CS1519
CS1518
CS0116
CS1001
This is maddening! We are following everything per instructions (which are poor, by the way). We can't even get basic XML or WS data into Xcelsius on a single XPpro desktop (w/ IIS, .NET 2.0 etc. installed).
Anyone have a clue what is going on? Are there any good sources for Flynet/Xcelsius documentation other than the PDFs that come with the software?

Hi there....
I am kinda new to XCelsius and am confused with the integration points XCelsius Engage Server offers for 'Crystal Server 2008' users.
The trial install package for XCelsius Engage Server (SP1) has a binary installation for XCelsius and then for Adobe LifeCycle DataServices. The installation document in the distribution does not talk about what the 'engage server' part is? and how it can get integrated to an existing CS 2008 installation ?
any suggestions/pointers would be appreciated. Also is there a document/white paper explaining how this whole family of CS and XCelsius products fits together ?user12111287,
To answer your question.....No, I do not. But we have run Crystal Reports using P6 data.
As far as I know Crystal Reports only needs a database of some kind in order to do its thing. Are you attempting to set up a "real time" data link (ODBC) to Crystal via SDK?
If not, you could just build your own P6 exports or develop your own reports that would provide the data for feeding Crystal Reports. Maybe set up an automated Job Service task to run a batch of reports on a daily basis.

You may wish to refer the link below, Xcelsius SP2 is now with the SAP BI connector. You can get this feature in Engage, Engage server and Enterprise version as well...so anything version is fine.

Best practice when using Tangosol with an app server
Hi,
I'm wondering what is the best practice when using Tangosol with an app server (Websphere 6.1 in this case). I've been able to set it up using the resource adapter, tried using distributed transactions and it appears to work as expected - I've also been able to see cache data from another app server instance.
However, it appears that cache data vanishes after a while. I've not yet been able to put my finger on when, but garbage collection is a possibility I've come to suspect.
Data in the cache survives the removal of the EJB, but somewhere later down the line it appear to vanish. I'm not aware of any expiry settings for the cache that would explain this (to the best of my understanding the default is "no expiry"), so GC came to mind. Would this be the explanation?
If that would be the explanation, what would be a better way to keep the cache from being subject to GC - to have a "startup class" in the app server that holds on to the cache object, or would there be other ways? Currently the EJB calls getCacheAdapter, so I guess Bad Things may happen when the EJB is removed...

I found the configuration file embedded in coherence.jar. Am I supposed to replace it and re-package coherence.jar?
If I put it elsewhere (in the "classpath") - is there a way I can be sure that it has been found by Coherence (like a message in the standard output stream)? My experience with Websphere is that "classpath" is a rather ...vague concept, we use the J2CA adapter which most probably has a different class loader than the EAR that contains the EJB, and I would rather avoid to do a lot of trial/error corrections to a file just to find that it's not actually been used.
Anyway, at this stage my tests are still focused on distributed transactions/2PC/commit/rollback/recovery, and we're nowhere near 10,000 objects. As a matter of fact, we haven't had more than 1024 objects in these app servers. In the typical scenario where I've seen objects "fade away", there has been only one or two objects in the test data. And they both disappear...

I can't figure out why the named instance does not work but the other one does. Any help would be greatly appreciated!Did you check with the ODBC test utility isql (it is installed by default when you install the unixODBC Driver manager) if your ODBC driver can connect at all to that named instance? I have some doubts that it will work either as there was a blog commented by a MS engineer:

Using Leopard with OS X Server 10.1
Quickly, we have two servers, a Tiger Server and a Puma(10.1) server. The Leopard machines connect and work normally with the Tiger server. however, performance on the Puma Server has been horrible. Does anyone know if this is common? We'll upgrade if need be, but it's just file server. Thanks
TomA 10.6 server joined for several years huh? How long has it really been joined? Even if you installed 10.6 server on the day it was released, then it would be 1.5 years ago. But I digress.
A common issue is time. Which network time server is the Mac configured to talk to? You should be using the DC or a mutually agreed upon server, preferably one within your environment.
If the time skew on the OS X server exceeds 5 minutes compared to the DC, you will not be able to talk to the domain. Check your time first. Once setting the time server to point to the DC, then use ntpq -p to check and ensure you are getting a time packet. You may also want to stop and start time sync (in Date & Time preferences) to force a new time negotiation.
Next, you can certainly try to unbind and bind. If you do, make a note of the day in which you performed the bind. Then watch the machine in 14 days to see if it falls out of trust. This is the -passinterval setting of the AD plugin on the server. You may need to set this to a really high number or set it to 0 to stop machine record password randomization. -
Error using JTextArea with JScrollPane

I am using JTextArea with JScrollpane. I am getting a problem in selecting the text in text area. I am searching for some text in the text area and selecting it if search successful. The problem is that the the scrollbar position didnt set to the correct location. So sometime the text selected is not visible in the scrolpane. Any help regarding this will be highly appreciated.

I have a Safari web browser that I have used since I purchased my Mac in 2008. Within the last week or so, I have been getting an error message, which says something like it cannot find the Apache back server or something like that. As a result, I have not been able to enter the web via Safari. I have Mac OSX, version 10.6.8. In the past, I needed an update to my operating system software to view on-line videos. Is there a similar problem with the operating software this time? Or has Safari gone off the air. I am utilizing Firefox to enter the web currently and I can continue to use it, but I would like to have a back-up web browser. Can someone help?

I totally agree with this. Never before have I signed up for a service where email has taken longer to be activated than the broadband connection, in fact, it's been the total opposite, all my past providers activated my email account before the broadband was activated and I was able to start using the address immediately so that by the time bb was enabled, I was ll and truly up and running.
I do not want a hotmail account or any other type of email account, I want to use what I am paying for, btinternet.
So far, am not a happy customer and am beginning to wonder if I should have gone with another provider.
Sorry for the rant but I expect more from such a big company.

Strange error in Zheevr with Studio Express 6/10
I have found a strange anomaly exposed by my code while testing Studio Express 6/10.
At runtime I was seeing a large number of copies of the error message

that this code works well with Intel MKL, AMD ACML, GotoBLAS, and other LAPACK implementations, and
only fails with sunperf. If I link the Sun f95-compiled code against GotoBLAS instead of sunperf it also works
correctly.

Is it possible to integrate php into the apache server that is supplied with the oracle (9.2) database, the so called Oracle HTTP Server?
What technical issues are to consider and how do you do it on linux in that case? (SLES8)
Is there any support issues to consider if somebody modifies this oracle supplied http server?

BPC 10 MS Transformation format error using *MVAL with no Rejected items
I'm a bit perplexed, but maybe I'm being too ambitious. I am trying to combine a year field from a column in my data file with 12 data columns for each month of that year using *MVAL to pick up those columns. Basically I want to pull from the file with a result like 2014P1 and then use a Time conversion to make it 2014.OCT.
I have found that the Mapping statement *Col(1)+*MVAL(25:36) does not work, but reversing it does, i.e. *MVAL(25:36)+*Col(1). This brings the small problem in the conversion file of making P1* convert for both P1 and P10, so to solve this I added +*Str(.) in the middle of the mapping statement. This brings results like P1.2014 and P10.2014 to be converted in the conversion file.
After several attempts the conversion I ended up with is:
EXTERNAL P1.* : INTERNAL *.OCT
EXTERNAL P2.* : INTERNAL *.NOV etc etc to P12
When validating the Transformation file it returns the error:
Input string was not in a correct format
Validation with data file failed
[The conversion file validated and processed with no problems, even with some VB added to reduce the year by 1 in the first three Periods.]
The strange thing is that the Rejected List is not greyed out, but it is completely empty - usually this error generates some rejected items that you can then learn from and revise your mappings or conversions.
If I change the conversion to repeat the * after the month, *.OCT*, then I do get rejections that correctly tell me that the conversion does not match my time id's. I see 2014.OCT2014 in the rejected items. This confirms that the correct part is being picked up by the conversion *.OCT, but that for some reason it is not accepted.
Running this for an Import in Data Manager also fails - this is not a bug in the transformation validation routine.
So, my questions are:
- am I doing something obviously wrong? or
- am I being too ambitious with *MVAL? or
- should this work, so that a dynamic conversion for any year can be set up - in other words is this a bug?
We are running BPC v10 MS SP12 with EPM SP16. I attach my Transformation file and the Time conversion.

ChrisI was much delayed in testing this due to other issues, but an opportunity came up last week when building a new environment. This time the column headings were needed for the 12 data columns (12 months Oct to Sep with 3 letters) which meant I could try adding the year as a *Str() function in the mapping before the *MVAL statement.
The result was that it still failed but with another error:
Index was outside the bounds of the array.
I abandoned due to time and built a specific conversion file for the months. Each time I load some historic data I have to edit this to put in the correct years. I keep these lists pasted on the right of the formula column for easy reference.
One odd thing that we still find consistently since SP12 is that the last column header is always missed. To get around this we often add an extra blank column to the input files or in this case I added P12 to my conversion file so that the data was picked up. This is inconvenient.
It would be good to be able to pick up a year from a column in the data or to add it with the *Str() function before the *MVAL statement.
