Strange format problem in columns of smartforms

Hi all,
I've got around 21 columns and the first entry is from the header table and its first column length i've fixed it as &itab-name(30)& in text.....and this works fine and displays the itab-name which take up upto 20 chars and name below 5 or 10 chars are making the thinghs worsen and the second column entry is getting displayed in first column.......even the lenght of the name varies it should be able to take exactly 30 chars......but this is not happing i tried concatenating space's for names less than 5 chars but still of no use....
And the strange thing is when i concatenate some text to this 5 chars length name and make it more than 20 chars then its working fine.....but the name shud be as it is and things should work exactly as the names with more than 20 chars length.......how to make this possbile........i even tried giving  &itab-name(30)& in the text element but still of no use.....
Any help or suggestion would be surely rewarded and appreciated.........

I've resolved it

  • Strange formating in narrow columns

Each year I send out a newsletter in AW 10.4.6, formatted to look somewhat like a newspaper front page. This involves some more or less narrow columns. Of course this makes left-and-right justification a bit difficult. So on really ugly (space-filled) lines, I use "condense" and "expand" to fill the lines. This used to work well, but lately I find that the lines, especially the lines when "expanded," turn up slightly bold-faced and larger than they should be. They are not quite bold face or a full font larger, but still noticeably bolder and larger than they should be. Has anyone else had this problem? What might be the cause and solution? Any response will be gratefully received.
    Nolan

Sounds like a problem in the way Quartz is rendering the particular font with the extend or condense attribute applied. AppleWorks predates Quartz, and wasn't updated to improve the fit when the new rendering system was introduced. Is this a screen problem, or does it persist in the printed version? Does turning on FractionalCharacter Widths (AppleWorks > Preferences > Text) help?
You might try trashing AW's preferences files (com.apple.appleworks.plist and the files in the AppleWorks folder at Mac HD > yourname > Library > Preferences).
If that doesn't solve it, try a different font, or go to left alignment and introduce some hyphenation where needed.

    Barry

  • Smartform: Formatting Problem with QUAN-Field

I want to print a smartform and get exception 1 (formatting error). With function SSF_READ_ERRORS I get an error table. There is on entry: errnumber = 020011, msgid = SSFCOMPOSER, msgty = E, msgno = 601, msgv1 = wa_outtab-menge.
It seems to be a formatting problem with field WA_OUTTAB-MENGE. But in the structure this field is referenced correctly.
    Does anybody know a solution?

I solve this kind of problem in my SmartForm.
    Try this:
Go to "Global Definitions" Node, then "Current/Quant.Fields" tab and set these values:
    Field Name:      WA_OUTTAB-MENGE
    Reference Field: WA_OUTTAB-MEINS
    Data Type:       QUAN

  • Go-openoffice calc strange formatting

    Hi all,
Calc has here a strange formatting behavior. I'm importing a CSV table (really, output of a script) with two columns - text and time in MM:SS.00 format. Calc marks both columns as text. When I try to change second column's formatting via Format Cells... dialog, nothing happens - when creating a chart, time is still treated as text. Also I tried to prepare empty cells with correct format and copy-paste (even paste special...) data there - same result. But if I copy data manually - it's treated correctly.
Openoffice.org manual says that I'm doing right. Google says nothing about such problem. I'm curious, is it a clever feature, or an old bug (I've seen it even in 3.1.0)?

Don't know about vanilla as I don't have it installed at the moment. Maybe someone else can confirm this bug?

  • Problem with columns in the middle of my book

I am writing my second book with Pages 2.02 and have run into a problem with columns. I want to add a long list of items as a list with check boxes for readers to check off. If I paste in enough text for three or four pages of two columns it gets messed up in various ways - the text flows into the following text if I don't use section breaks at the end instead of layout breaks, if I use section breaks it solves that one, but if I add anything to the list it changes all the columns across the pages so that one or several of the pages has way less in the right column than in the left. So far the left column fills the entire page all the time, but the right column has lots of spaces. If I switch back and forth from one column to two, it fixes it. If I add text before the list section it messes everything up again and because there is a section break I end up with a little bit of text on the last page and a huge gap before the single column part that follows.
Does anyone know how to get reliable results that will not mess me up when adding content before the list or in the list itself?
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi Cymru,
Thank you for thinking about my problems. I guess I s half asleep when I posted and it didn't make sense.
I have so far 77 pages of the book divided into several chapters via section breaks. Inside the 5th section there is almost two pages of paragraphs. Those paragraphs could become 3.75 pages or who knows how long before the list of items. The list of items is 226 items separated by carriage returns and go from one word with 5 characters to 7 words and 34 characters. It needs to be a list with check boxes before them so that the user can check off the items that apply. It is a workbook about turning bipolar into an advantage and is currently 8.5 x 11 and printed on my laser printer for now, but when completed will be more like 8 x 10, so it needs to resize without major hassles.
I have tried every combination of breaks to get the list to flow in two columns, but perhaps have not done the correct combination. I show invisibles and layout. At the end of my paragraphs I do a paragraph return. I then do either a section break or a layout break, followed by a paragraph return and another layout or section break. I then put my curser before the paragraph break, but after the first section/paragraph break, and set columns to 2, evenly divided by default with 3.2026" columns and .3375" gutter, but I want them to change with page size in the future.
Once set up, I copy the text out of BBEdit and paste into the left column. It takes up several pages because it is formatted to do double spaces, so I use one of my styles to make it bold and single spaces. I then apply list style with image bullets and one of the default box images that came with Pages. There are 5 items in each column on the first page because it is close to the bottom, but flows into the next two pages. (with text edits it might end up 20 items in each column on the first page) The second page has 39 items in each column and the last page has 8 items in the left column only, but if with section breaks take up the whole page and the next paragraphs start on the next page. If I then add items to the list, every page gets messed up and the second page ends up with 39 on the left column and less items in the right column for each added item.
If I use layout breaks instead of section breaks, the paragraphs following my lists (now with only one column) end up under the list. What that means is I can see my bold items, but beneath them are my paragraphs that belong after the list. I can see the layout break at the end of the list, but the columns that are shown as part of the 'view layout' are visible right over the single column text also for the rest of the page. The only way to solve that is to go with section breaks and put up with the gap from the end of the list to the following paragraphs.
I hope this makes more sense.
    Tom

  • Issue with character formats using duplex printing in smartform

    Hi all,
I am getting a problem with character formats using duplex printing in smartform. I am using a text module with a bold character to display text in a window. The problem is that on the first back page, the text is being printed normally (without bold), but on the next pages, the back pages are being printed with the bold character format.
Can anyone know where is the problem..please.
    Points to be rewarded..
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Zaheed.

    Hi Zaheed,
Normally this should not happen.. and also there is no internal formatting done by SAP.. it will show based on what fomatting option we have specified..
If you are saying it is happening in ur case then
         1. Recheck whether whether you have same text module getting printed on the
two page. If they are different then then individual check formatting option for
             each..
          2. If above point does'nt work for you ..then instead of bold char use normal
format for text element and see if it is printing same on both page..
Try this out and let us know your findings...
    Enjoy SAP.

  • Records truncating (formatting problem)

    Hello all,
I am writing a script wherein a SQL generates another SQL.
Lets say that we have a varchar2(2000) column with around 1500 characters in each record. When I try to write a script it only returns the first few characters of it and doesnt print the remaining data in the record.
    Example
    insert into baba values(353521,'200410',1,1,18-JUL-
    03,'ELOPEZ5','Y','Y' ,,'Have
    insert into baba values(353521,'200410',1,2,18-JUL-03,'ELOPEZ5','Y','Y','Give
It truncates the remaining part of the inserts statements. I guess this is a formatting problem. I set the linesize to 999 and it didnt solve my problem. Please let me know what else I can do.
    Thanks,
    Dola

    Hello Garcia,
Thanks a lot for your response. I tried putting line feed as you suggested and this didn't work too. This time

    1,

  • Format with multiple column

I am working a report that has had the details section format with multiple columns selected.  I want to change the report and remove the check box, but it is grayed out.  How can I get the report details section back to default without the detail size constraints?

Bearing in mind that I'm a relative newbie to the report writing/Crystal world...the only thing I can think of is that maybe the report was written using an older version of Crystal and this option wasn't available. Another possibility, if it's a sub-report, you might try making a copy of the sub-report saving it with the same name, deleting the old sub-report, replacing it with the copy you made. I know that has worked for me when I've had problems with the re-import when opening is greyed out.

  • Strange connection problems -- software or hardware?

I've been experiencing some strange connectivity problems of late, and am wondering if it's a software or hardware issue. I'm running OS-X 10.4.11, and have noticed web-associated "drop-outs" occurring. When I'm browsing, any of the following will happen:
    1. the pages will periodically stop loading, or will take forever to load a few final images.
    2. the page will load with a different format (completely unformatted, like a throwback to Mosaic!).
    3. the page won't load at all, and will instead give me either a "DNS error" message, or will default to my ISP's "We couldn't resolve your page" message.
    4. Nothing out of the ordinary happens.
Throughout this process, the connection strength is 100%.
It seems this happens with both Firefox and Safari. Is this an issue with driver software, or is my Airport Card giving out? My computer is about 3 years old.

I have been having intermittent connection problems on several computers over many years now. We have 12 eMacs, all purchased within a few months of each other, all with 10.4.11. Some computers have almost perfect internet connection, but some are constantly losing connection. If the user just waits a few minutes, the network just comes back or if they open system preferences and renew the DHCP lease it comes back as well. We have tried replacing cables, reloading the operating system, repairing permissions, reseting safari... We are all connecting through ethernet cables through wall jacks then to a switch that is connected to our router. Our DSL provider claims it can't be wiring or a problem on their end or they would see it and we would all have problems. I am not super computer literate... Any suggestions for what I should check on the 4 or so computers that are having lots of connection problems?
Thanks for any words of wisdom!!!

  • Strange wifi problem on a brand-new MacBook Pro

Hey there, I'm new here. Desperation has got the better of me, and I hope I can get some advice.
So, last sunday I bought a brand new 13" MacBookPro with 2.8g i7 processor and 10.7.2 OS (I can't update to 10.7.4 because System Update tells me the download has been tampered with or corrupted after I waited 2 hours for it to finish, but I'm trying a direct download from the website). Here's the exact product: http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MacBook-MD314LL-13-3-Inch-VERSION/dp/B005CWIZ4O/ref= sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1340301247&sr=8-5&keywords=macbook+pro+13
Everything is all perfect except for a strange wifi problem. Note that the wifi does not turn-on or off, it doesn't disconnect after 'sleep', it doesn't get less speed, it doesn't constantly leave a preferred connection (once I chose my home wifi it always connects to it no problem). The wifi bar is always full. What is wrong is that the internet is kinda 'glitchy'. The best metaphor I can think of is that it's like a car that has to be pushed down the road before the engine can start. Please, bear with me because this is kinda hard to explain and I'm not good at tech lingos.
One of the symptoms is browsing can get really slow and inconsistent, almost as if the wifi gets turned off in the middle of browsing. For example: if I look something up on Google and then open 5 new tabs, probably only 2 or 3 of those tabs will eventually load while the other two will not get past the long 'http:.......google.....etc etc' address and will eventually show one of those 'error loading page because there's no Internet connection' notice. This happens a lot. Sometimes I have to refresh/retry loading a page a couple of times before it finally loads, then usually everything will get back to normal and I will be able to open multiple tabs with no problem, but in a couple of minutes I would try to open another site and the problem will start again.
So I tried to see how it does with downloading using iGetter. Fortunately I also have a Macbook (white-plastic casing one) and my brother has an old 2006 MacbookPro so I can compare. With those two older Apples iGetter starts receiving data in less than 8 seconds after I click Start, while my brand-new Macbook Pro can take up to 15-20 seconds, sometimes it doesn't even start at all and I have to re-click the start button. But once the download actually starts (on my new MacBook Pro), it downloads like normal, it doesn't stop and the speed is also as good as I can get. Strange huh? Hence, like a car that has to be pushed before the engine starts.
I also tried 'speed testing' from a website with all 3 laptops. On my old MacBook and my brother's MacBook pro, once I click 'begin test' it takes only a couple of seconds of 'ping' before the download/upload speed measurements start, but with my new MacBook Pro (just like with iGetter) it takes up to almost a minute before the measurements start, sometimes it won't start at all and I have to re-start the test.
Well, thanks for reading. And hope you can help me shed some light into this. Because it is really preventing me from really enjoying my new MacBook Pro. And if this is most likely a hardware problem, I'd better get back to the store and try to get it replace or something while it's only been 5 days. *cheers*

Hey guys.. Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, I bought the MacBook in Indonesia where there are no such thing as an AppleCare. The only option is to leave the Apple product to one of the 'Authorized Apple care centre' and have whoever do whatever to it without guarantee of success. As for returning it and getting a brand new one, I also don't know if there is such a deal here, but that's actually a good idea, will try to go to the store tomorrow. Although, I'm worried that the problem might be with OSX Lion or something and getting a new one won't help.
mark75090, I've tried resetting the router when I first noticed te problem, didn't work though. I've checked my new MacBook's wi-fi (option+click wifi bar) and it says 'PHY Mode: 802.11g', so does my MacBook and the old MacBook Pro. I don't know what those mean though, and I don't know whether or not my router is an N., can you tell me more please.. I have tried with the other two turned off, and only the new MacBook using the wi-fi but the problem persists. I have also tried connecting directly to the router, but as I described, the problem is too subtle for me to notice the difference.
Also, if I create a brand new Wi-Fi connection in network preferences and connect to my router through the new Wi-Fi profile, the problem seems to be gone for an hour or so, then it always comes back though. I have also just finally installed 10.7.4, but it doesn't help either.

    Hi Vasu,
Not in the Mapping of IR.
In BIC Mapping Designer you have to test with the standard Mappings by providing the sample file whether the Conversion is happening correctly or not.
You have to take the same input file that what ever you are having now.
So that it will say clearly what is the problem in converting the XMLto the required EDI Format...
Check whether you have any Date Format Values are comming from the input file.

  • Trial Balance in tabular format (Profit Centerwise column)

    Hi
We have 2 manufacturing plants and each plant is created as separate profit centers. Now we do consolidation of these two plants at head office. This head office is too created as a profit center.
Now my requirement is to get trial balance. I want trial balance in tabular format with 5 columns. These columns should be:
Column 1: GL No. / Description
Column 2: Amount (Profit Center 1)
Column 3: Amount (Profit Center 2)
Column 4: Amount (Profit Center 3)
Column 5: Total (All profit centers)
Please let me know the TCode for getting trial balance in above format. I tried F.01. But its not giving me such report.
Edited by: Deepak Agrawal on Oct 27, 2011 12:59 PM

Report you are suggesting is good. But it break ups balance at row level . Profit center come in row. I want it in columns like:

  • Report painter formatting problem

    Hi
I was working on a report in GR32 and seems screwed up.Now the report's decimal is not coming up.When I goto formating and select the decimal option , decimal comes up but spacing between columns get affected. Can anybody tells me how to fix the formating issue of columns. I mean adding decimal, comma and space between columns ?
    Thanks
    Satya

i am explainig for report painter reports ( similar way must be there for report writer)
    go to grr2
you will see on top of the columns 'format group    :   0' written.
when you go to formatting -> columns  you will seee a format group on the top and below you will see the width , decimal places etc.
say you want to have  column a very wide and column B needs to be filled with only one or 2 numbers then on top of column A you can the format group to 0. Then click on formatting-> columns and make the widht eg 20.
for column B on top of the column change the format group to 1. Then go to formatting -> columns then select the format group as 1 and then make the width to 2.
This way you can have different widths, decimals etc for differenet columns
    Assign points if helfpfull,

My scenerio iam posting IDOC to a flat file with content conversion in the receiver side, the mapping got executed successfully and in the audit log i found that the error was after the 'Start converting XML document content to plain text'.
This means that error occured during content conversion of XML to the prescribed file format.
Can anyone suggest any better approach using which we may trace the junk data in IDoc. Manual adhoc approach could take time and is error prone.
    Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the early reply. I checked the mapping and everything is fine and the output is also in valid XML format.
The audit log shows that the mapping got executed successfully and the error is after the step 'Start converting XML document content to plain text '. Is there any constraint in the file adapter regarding the message size for parsing.
