Strange green screen problem while playing movie

For the first time I purchase a movie from iTunes Store, As I started playing it neither I could hear the sound nor I could see the video but after much of effort of re-starting my iTunes and MacBook, it started to play but while playing the movie if I shift to full screen mode, a strange green screen appears for a second or two and then plays normally and if while playing I return back to normal screen, the green screen never goes, then again I have to stop the movie and restart iTunes to be able to play back the movie normally. Does anyone have any idea about this strange problem?

Hi Maen Abdulhaq,
“When I start games like Red Alert2 and a lot others”, ” I don't think that this is a manufacturer problem since it's very common to all those having windows 7 x64 and trying to play such games”
Did this issue occur in the whole games or just the Red Alert2 in your machines ?
“unfortunalety windows compatibility settings”
Have you tried in windows 98 or lower compatibility mode, please ensure you have choose run as an administrator?
Apart from this ,I recommend you to try this method.
create a shortcut of "Yuri.exe" (or "Game.exe" if running normal RA2), and place it on the desktop. Open the properties, and in the target line add "-dxlevel 8" to the end. It should look like this (or similar if you're directories
are different).
 "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Command & Conquer Red Alert(tm) II\RA2\YURI.exe" -dxlevel 8
Meanwhile,  entering Intel HD Graphics control panel (via Windows Control Panel or right-clicking the desktop) and enter Power section. Choose "High performance" mode.
If the issue persists, I recommend you to disable one graphic card from the device manager to have a check considering you have two graphic cards.
Best regards

  • Common screen problem while playing games in Windows 7 x64

When I start games like Red Alert2 and alot others, the game doesn't show properly as some times the screen goes black or the buttons or menues doesn't show at all
Some other forums adviced to make these steps
    Right click on Desktop
    Select Screen Resolution
Click Detect (with no additional monitor connected)
Next to your first display, you'll see a grey square with the text "Another display not detected" Click on the grey square
Next to "Multiple displays" it will say "No display detected"
    Click on "No display detected"
    A drop-down menu will appear
Select "Try to connect anyway on: VGA"
Click on your primary display (the square with the big "1" in it)
Next to "Multiple displays" select "Extend these displays"
I tried these steps and every thing is going fine,  but the annoying problem is that I have to change the display settings each time I run a game and when I'm done playing I have to change them back, since of "Extended displays" order
In earlier windows versions it worked totally with no problems and even on Windows 8.1 x64
What would be the error here?
What should I do instead of all this jam? Is there any Hotfixes?
Note: I have two video cards running Intel HD graphics and Nvidia Geforce
***Update :The problem also exists in Windows 8.1 x64

Then play the clip and see just a few reen dots, not the green screen footage. If you need a link to the footage its http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAFMRKsoX5E. Please help, as this is one of the main reasons I bought a Mac.

the material you're linking to is in a .flv container (and downloading it violates the ToU of YouTube, just to mention that )
after re-wrapping it into a suitable format, works like charme:
… aside missing drop shadows, wrong perspective, missing highlights,
and somehow the dino is a lil' bit 'opaque'
how or into what did you convert the t-rex.flv?

  • Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file...

I am running WMP 11.0.5721.5280. I am running XP SP3 with every update that has come out. I have 4 GB RAM and my processor is a Pentium 4, 2.6GHz.
I have a large collection of music file ripped from my CD collection. Almost every time I want to plat a music file I get a message; Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file, For additional assistance, click Web Help. When this
error box is displayed, a red 'X' placed next to the file in WMP.
When I click the "Web Help" button, I am taken to a MS website (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/c00d11b1) which tells me that I should go to the sound device website and make certain I have the latest driver. All of the advice which
is given does not apply to me. My sound device works fine! I can play CD, DVD (movies), and MP3 files. Even when I use RealPlayer, the same thing happens, but not as frequently.
Can anyone offer a solution to this problem?

  • ITunes skips and delays while playing movies.

Often while playing movies on iTunes the video will freeze while audio still runs. When I try to skip ahead to another part of the movie, the screen blacks out entirely, while still playing audio. I have OS X Lion and iTunes 10.5.2 and otherwise the program runs fine for music. Any ideas or comments?

Update.  No skipping via my two sets of airtunes speakers plugged into airport express.  Only skipping on my USB Soundsticks plugged directly into my iMac.
    Thanks!

  • Green screen when I play videos on my computer while using itunes

Hey I just bought a new computer, and I installed the new itunes and quicktime and whenever i try to play videos that i bought from itunes i can here the music but i get a green screen instead of the video. I have tried reinstalling itunes/quicktime and I am still having no luck. Hopefully somebody can help me out

    Hello Reaper398
Could quick suggestions I have for you
    1. Quit iTunes, And download and install latest Adobe Flash Player
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
*Recommended to reboot after it is installed.
When you get back up and running. Feel free to test movie out again. And see if the green image continues.
    If it does proceed below.
    2. Go to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features
-If you got Multiple versions of Adobe Flash Plugins. You may wish to uninstall all of them, Then download and install latest Adobe one last time http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
    Reboot as needed.
If this continues again proceed to step 3.
    3. Launch Control Panel - Switch to Classic view if you are not in it. You can see this as an option in the left hand corner of Control Panel
Double click on Quicktime, Go to Advanced Tab - And Empty Cache.
Keep this Window Open, Test Movie Out, If it continues. Close iTunes one last time. Go back to the Window we left open. This time Click on Safe Mode (GDI only) for now.
This is typically caused by outdated Flash Software and or Direct X Software. IF you have Vista you should already have latest Direct X Installed.
If you got XP visit the link below for latest Direct X drivers. As this may also assist without having to use the Safe Mode (GDI) only

  • Screen flicker while playing ET

I built a new computer about a week ago, and everything seemed to be running fine.  Then a dude in my clan told me to update the drivers for the graphics card and said he noticed there was a bios release that was availble for my mobo, and stupid me listened tohim and its been downhill from there.
Windows functions completely normally, as do games such as Call of Duty.  However, the primary game I play (wolfenstein enemy territory) is really acting strangely.  While playing, there will be polygonal flashes across my screen randomly.  Its only affecting ET.
I'm pretty sure my processor is not overheatin and i'm completley sure my graphics card is not everheating.  My cpu idles at around 32 and at load has been running at about 42 since i cleaned up my lame initial attempt at wiring my case.
problem exists with version 1.9 and 2.0 of the MSI bios.  I've tried using version 4.x of the new ATI catylyst drivers, as well as reverting back to the generally accepted good drivers of ver 3.10.  I've also tried switching the AGP from 8x to 4x and back again, all with no effect on ET.  I've also reinstalled ET from a completely clean directory, so its not the installation.

    MSI 865PE Neo2 mobo
    1 gig of ram
    sapphire 9800 pro
would appreciate any help on this.   It doesn't really affect preformance, but its about the most annoyin thing i've seen a game do in a long time.

now thats a real tough one then... did that game actually work before you updated the BIOS? hard to believe, since BIOS updates usually dont f*** with compatibility of games.
why dont you just flash back your BIOS to the version you were using when the game was running problem free? and if that doesnt work, just live with it... there are many other great games out there.
i think helping you would be alot easier if that game havent worked at all, but since you played it on that rig without problems i cant think of any reasons why it shouldnt work anymore just because of an updated BIOS. formating your disk is probably the only thing left to do.

Call of Duty plays fine with either driver, but still no luck with ET. I wish i could take a screenshot of the vertex flashes, but all screenshots i take appear to be completely normal.
uh, now THATS strange... maybe you're drunk? j/k buddy

  • Screen dim while watching movie

I haven't found a definitive reason for this really irritating behaviour.
When watching a movie on my G4 Powerbook the Apple keeps dimming the screen. Incredibly annoying to have to tap the trackpad every couple of minutes.
From what I have read - and it's not much - I finally figured out that to stop this I need to go to the Energy Saver settings and uncheck "Automatically reduce the brightness of the display before display sleep."
    Wow. That was obvious....
My question though is much simpler.
Who on earth would design a system that dims the screen while a movie is playing? I can't conceive of any situation during which I would launch a movie and prefer to have it dim.
Shouldn't the screen default to not dimming when a movie is being played?

    Hi Barry,
Of course, and this is a case of sending Feedback...
My workaround: Active Screen Corners (in System Preferences > Exposé). I have one assigned to Disable Screen Saver, and I leave the mouse pointer on it when watching a movie.

  • I keep getting a green screen whenever I play videos and I can't find the "Display" Settings

In fact, I don't think I even have a "Display" box. I looked at the step by step tutorial but whenever I right click there is not "display" box. I'm using a Windows 8 laptop. And the problem started a few days ago. Every video I play is green screen. I thought it was just on youtube but I went to other websites and it's the same problem. How can I fix this? Please help, thank you!

"Green" stuff usually indicates a conflict with the graphics drivers, but I would think that that Windows 8 would have the latest drivers already installed.
What is your display adapter, device driver & date?  See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765

  • Green screen issues when playing videos in fb + youtube

at first i noticed a re-occurring problem when playing videos via facebook or youtube. A green screen randomly appeared now and then until i reset the laptop. I tried many things, including one suggestion to change quality option from 480p to 140p via settings option in youtube. It worked on some occasions, was able to view video as the green screen disappeared. Of course, as expected, image quality suffered. I contacted Lenovo to inform them of issues I was having with viewing videos, they advised it was a problem with the adobe software and that I should check to see if I have an updated version installed on my laptop. (currently running O/S windows 8.1 and IE 11), I downloaded chrome, fortunately, I am able to view videos in youtube properly even though they appear as a green screen in IE 11. Not so lucky with facebook however, green screens in IE when playing Facebook video uploads appear as black screens in chrome. I reset the laptop and everything appears to be running fine. Is this an adobe software issue? Lenovo seems to think so, Seeing as how others experience the same issue regardless of the make and model of laptop, they may be right.

Please work through the video troubleshooting guide.
