STRANGE! Internet works perfect-can't update or configure Express??

I have the latest airport set up utility and I am having issues.
I connect to the internet just fine, but when I try to update my firmware or configure my airport express, it gives me this error. "Please make sure your Apple wireless device is plugged in and in range of your computer or connected via ethernet and try again." (-6765)
I've tried everything from restarting to doing a "hard reset" of the AX. No luck. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem as you if I understand you correctly. Do you have Airport v.6.3 firmware installed on your Express? If not, download it and update your A.Express. That should fix it. Mind you, if you can't configure your A.Express in the first place, you may have trouble updating the firmware. Here's something worth trying anyway... (I did it via my old PowerBook but it should be the same).
1. Download the firmware updater from Apple: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/airportexpressfirmwareupdate63formacosx.h tml (This one is for OSX users. There's another one for Windows users).
2. Run the updater. It should run as a separate program - no need to use Utility.
3. Next time you try to configure the Express via Utility, it should work.
Of course, if you already have 6.3, then what I've suggested above will not apply. But this was certainly my problem, which has now been resolved as of this afternoon.
A word of warning: Firmware v6.2 is an absolute dud as far as I can tell. I went from v.6.1 straight to 6.3 and now I am happy. Hope it helps.

Hello i'm abroad right now and eyesterday the phone was working fine and all of the sudden bbm wasn't working but everything else is fine and i have almost full bars but my connections look like this

My brand new mac pro always had Internet connection issues at school. WHY is that? I see the school's Internet working perfectly fine on other PC's, but there is never a day where my mac doesn't have Internet connection issues at school. How do I fix it?

I got my mac pro in the middle of August. School started the week after. Internet was working perfectly fine at home. But at school, I never had a good connection. Sometimes on the good days I get a connection when I'm sitting at the exact spot in class I always sit at. It's ridiculous and it's frustrating. I invested my money into this laptop and I'm beginning to regret it. I thought it was the school's Internet, but I don't see Internet issues with other PC users. It's most frustrating on registration days and I'm trying to register for my classes before it gets taken, but again... Internet connection issues. It's random. Majority of the time, it doesn't work at all. I've done Network Diagnosis and turning WiFi off then turning it on again. I've done everything I could. I put my money on this laptop and it was a lot of money. I could have bought an 800 dollars laptop and I would have Internet connection anywhere on campus. So, I don't want to continue everyday to regret on buying this laptop every time I try to connect to the Internet at school or Starbucks or anywhere else. How do I fix this? What's the problem ?
At school, I heard this guy had a problem with Internet connections too and he owned a new mac book pro. He said something like Apple messed up on something, but he fixed it. If I knew mac book pro's had these issues I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. It's freezing on me every other day. It's ridiculous. But what concerns me the most is the Internet connection. I'm using an XLR input mic which is connected to the phantom power enabled XLR mic socket on a USB M-Audio M-Track. The M-Track is connected by USB to the Mac Pro - so effectively I've got an M-Audio USB soundcard with a mic input. I've also tried a microphone that is a straight XLR to USB cable (guessing with some soundcard chip buried in the usb plug) but that also yields the same effect of bad latency, intermittent quality, stuttering and repeating and echoing (without the speakers on during record so its not feedback).
The mic works absolutely fine with other recording applications I have on the mac at the moment - albeit non-adobe ones (tested it on the EasyAudioRecorder - and it lives up to its name. it's easy)
I will try with Audition and report back, but sitting here right now I can imagine it would work fine with audition too - it just seems to be the way premiere is set up for recording into the timeline is a bit sketchy. I'm willing to accept it might well be a quirk with the new Mac Pro trashcan - I'm not weighting all the woes on premiere.
Any thoughts or am I out of luck to sit with my fingers crossed for a fix in the next round of updates?

Internet working but can't access AirPort for configuration changes

I have an AirPort Express and it connects to the internet properly through my cable modem -- solid green light and all -- and allows my PC to surf wirelessly.
Sounds pretty good, but...
For some reason I can't access the AirPort Express to change any of the settings. For example, I would like to change the SSID and the IP numbering scheme to give out 192 IPs, but when I open the Admin Utility I can't see the AirPort Express. When I try to access it manually in the utility by hitting "Other..." and entering the IP that my PC is assigned on the network (10.0.1.2), it puts up a window that says "Reading configuration from base station", then an error message with code -6753.
I know it is working, otherwise I wouldn't be writing this right now, but how to I access it???

Your system information states OS 10.0.x. If you are using that version of OS X you do not have an Intel based iMac. I would suggest that you upgrade to OS 10.2 at least.
If you do have an Intel based iMac, you may want to try renewing the DHCP lease. Open System Preferences->Ethernet->Advanced... and click on the "Renew DHCP Lease".

• If you have not already done so, shut down Mac, restart,
    and try again. If the camera still does not work, continue.
• Try ALL relevant suggestions from Apple's Troubleshooting

(Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD." Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
   If you need to use the "reset" suggestion, use the correct reset for your Mac.
• Use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions and then
   download and apply the latest Combo Update. For your Mac OS,

• Repair permissions again immediately following the system restart
   that completes the Combo update.
Properly applying the Combo version of updates can sometimes correct software problems, but, if your trouble is caused by a hardware problem, there are no user serviceable parts of the camera.
• If nothing else resolves your problem, yours is likely a hardware issue.
   Unless you have a current backup, make one now.
Then use the final "Troubleshooting" suggestion:
"... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."

Can I update my airport express station so I can connect to it with the newest airport utility?

the airport express worked with my old computer which had snow leopard. I just recently upgraded and got a new MacBook with mavericks and it won't let me connect to the airport. Any solutions to this problem without buying a new airport?

Unfortunately, updating the older Express that you have would require that you literally change all of the hardware on the device. Even if the parts were available....Apple does not offer them......it would likely cost more to "update" your old Express than buy a new Express.
You can use....or borrow for a few minutes....another Mac running Leopard or Snow Leopard, or a PC with AirPort Utility installed on the device to administer the older AirPort.

The iOS 8.1.2 update bricked my 4th gen iPad. I can't even do a DFU mode restore - error 4013. The iPad worked perfectly before the update and is 16 months old. Any suggestions anyone - except to shout loudly at the Apple support line?

I set my iPad to do the latest iOS update as per usual - over the air and while on charge. When I returned to it, it was non functional the screen was blank. I reset multiple times and at one point got a red screen. I connected it to iTunes on my Mac and tried to force a restore, but this didn't work - even in DFU mode. I have gotten a 4013 error every time. I've tried different cables and different USB ports etc, but no success. It's a brick.

I have multiple Macs around the house and have tried all of them - all with the same results alas. I've restarted, ensured iTunes is up to date etc too.
On DFU mode - yes - that's it. I have no idea what DFU stands for, but it this mode is often referred to as this. I get the 'connect to iTunes' picture and can begin the restore, but the process times out waiting for the iPad. Apparently, 4013 is associated with a cable problem,, but I know the hardware is all fine.
What I want to avoid is just being told to buy another iPad. That would be totally unacceptable for an error caused by an update to a 16 month old device. There has to be some solution!

To be honest not being able to send or recieve messages and data is a carrier issue, not a phone issue since u said that your calls are working, if i were you my first course of action would be to get a new sim card from virgin mobile, or to restore the device as new one more time, if you restore the device as new AND get a new sim card from your carrier and those features still dont work, i would take the device to an apple store

Could you review/adjust your preference for which program opens PDFs? I'm not sure how that drop-list behaves when there are multiple Adobe plugins. You might need to physically remove an old plugin file or two to make sure Firefox is not trying to use the old one.

Sure, you can download the disc image (.dmg) and zipped (.zip) files onto your PC. Then transfer them to a FAT32 (MSDOS) formatted flash drive that you can then read and copy onto the Mac. Just do not attempt to open either type of file on the PC which can result in corrupting the files once copied onto the Mac.
Might I ask why you cannot connect the Mac Pro to your internet connection?

I tried another sim in it and it's showing the same thing. In trouble shooting I put the card in my ipad and it was recognised by the iPad. Can someone that has a clue help me out please. Thanks.

I had a friend who ran into the same probelm. What you need to do is reestablish notifications for the mail app. To do this; go to the Settings app -> Notification -> scroll all the way to the bottom and you should see the mail app in the "Not in notification center" area -> mail notifcation setting -> set notification center to On, Alert style to your desired style, badge app icon On, show preview On (if desired) and view in lock screen On (if desired). Now, go back to the main setting page and go to Mail, Contacts, Calander then make sure fetch new data is set to push. You might want to click on that to check the setting of your other non-iCloud email accounts that don't support push and set them to fetch by going to the advanced section on the bottom. Finally set the duration of your fetch and there you go. Mail will now get mail without you haveing to refresh it manually. It will also notifiy you when you get new mail. ^_^

Can't download podcasts, internet works itunes can't see it.

PC 64 bit, complies. I run a diognistic from the help menu sees internet. No secured access to itunes. What's up?

I have had a problem with iTUNES 7 downloading podcasts as well. If I select more than a couple at a time to download, windows crashes and reboots. Upon rebooting, when I try to re-download the same podcasts, I get the exclamation point icon next to the podcast indicating a network connection issue. What I have to do to resolve it is go to My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads/Podcasts then delete the folder that is named after the podcast. Restart iTunes and then the download works again. I think the guilty file is actually in that folder named (xxx).plist. I still don't understand why iTunes crashes like this though.

P.S This is an on and off thing, sometimes facebook loads, sometimes it doesn't. Using computers connected to the same WiFi, I can freely access Facebook with no issues.
