Strange Label behavor

I've give specific images colored labels in LR while in the library module. For instance I labeled a group of images with RED as this is my lablel for BW images. I then, choose RED via the filter and go into the develop module. I've saved a BW preset that I really like and begin to apply to one image at a time. After I choose the preset, the image disappears from the bottom row inside the develop module. If I go back to the library it will not show up when the red filter is on. When I turn it off the image comes back and the RED label is still applied. I have to restart lightroom for the filter to work correctly again. I need the images to stay in the develp module for more correction besides just my preset.
What am I missing here?

The only thing that comes to mind is the label somehow being in the preset.

Yes, that worked for me.
Set the dictionary Access to "Read " and "Edit"
Set the Field type to "Read Only"
Set the Help text with the "HTLM CODE"
And the Help text becomes visible to the users...
I did notice thst the HTML is now ignored when used in the Defaul value, so I left ithe field blank and moved the data to the Help Text.

I've borrowed my friend's iPod and I want to copy CERTAIN songs to my computer but not the whole lot. Is there any way to do this?

I know how to get all of the songs off an iPod and onto a computer but I was wondering if there was a way to only get a select few because when you get them from the folders they're all labeled as F00 and stuff.
Or is there a way to convert these strange labels back to the name they were originally saved as ?

Weird folders in preferences

I had to uninstall a few preferences and noticed a 100s of very strangely labeled folders, all of which contained 0kb of information. What could be causing this? I had recently got a 27" iMac i5 that I installed all my data from a Time Machine back-up from my old computer, so I'm not sure how long theses could be there, or if they were on the old computer (since re-formatted).

My music Library on my other computer

I just copied my music library (legally) to my other computer. Both are with Windows. I now have them in my music folder and it has been divided into maybe 30 different folders with maybe 30 songs in each folder. They are labeled F00, F01, F02, etc. The songs inside each have new names - what seems to be random letters FTPS, QEOV, etc. I thought I read in the directions to be sure to click "copy files to itunes music folder when adding to library". I did that.
What I've done is gone to each of these strangely labeled songs, right clicked, and clicked on "open with", and then "itunes". This seems to move the strangely labeled song out of this music folder and correctly labels it in the actual itunes library list (and also plays the song). It seems like this is what I want, but I'd rather not have to do this with 1000+ individual songs. Is there any way to do this for an entire folder at once?

Now you're going to have to move the info to the new computer. If you have an external hard drive, drag the iTunes folder, located within My Documents\My Music onto it. If you have a network set up, copy the iTunes folder to a location that can be accessed by the new computer.
Do I need to do anything differently when I use my iPod as the hard drive? The way I did it before was by opening itunes on the new computer, opening preferences (so it wouldn't try to sync), and then copying from the iPod. Is that the way to use the iPod as a hard drive?

Is ARD supposed to wake up macs from sleep?

Hi all! I have the latest ARD and the latest Lion running, with several macs on a lan. My question is, is ARD able to wake them up from sleep? Currently, it does not, and looks like this in the interface:

If you can't get it working, worse comes to worse you can always keep display sleep on and put hard drive(s) to sleep and disable the normal sleep.
My Air has wake from WiFi options, but I don't think other systems do.
I think if the system drops from the shared volumes on your finder (if it's sharing files), it won't be accessible via ARD or Screen Sharing.
Well, I can't say I understand that last bit, but the workaround works, but these boxes all have the Nvidia defect and I want them to stay as cool as possible when not in use, not sure the workaround accomplishes that but I can test temps. Maybe these MBP 3,1s don't support wake up over wifi? the strange labeling on the preference pane implies that ? dunno. but thx for your help!

Firefox 4 Beta has problem when printing shipping pages from Amazon Marketplace, it shows and prints strange symbols instead of the packing slip and the label. Do you have any idea why is that?

Well, I installed it 2 days ago and yesterday when I tried to print a packing slip and a label for Amazon customers it printed so many strange symbols that were nothing like what they are supposed to be, not even close. When I printed it with another browser it was all fine, so it is obviously a problem of the new version of my favorite browser. Probably something with the encoding, but since I'm not a computer geek, I cannot give more info. :(

Strange behavior with Label#setWrapText(true) in GridPane.

I've got a strange behavior with a Label, which has setWrapText(true) in a GridPane.
Check out the sample and click the button.
You see, that the GridPane suddenly behaves as if it had GridPane.setVGrow and HGrow set for the lblStatus.
(it takes the full available space).
Furthermore the first column shrinks to a minimum, so that lblText1 can't display its text anymore.
Tested with 2.1 GA.
Any help with that?

It seems the Label doesn't like it, that it is in a GridCell with rowspan = 2
If it is in a normal cell (no rowspan), it works.
If I add ColumnConstraints to the gridpane, it kind of works, but the Label still occupies more space than it should.

Exchange contacts have strange field labels in mobileme

Hello,
I have an exchange account as well as mobileme. Running 10.6.7 . When I drag my contacts to my local address book and sync to mobile me the field titles become strange . example the following is in front of a business number _$!<EX-B and then the telephone number is correct.
The cards look fine on my computer, the fields are just messed up when using mobileme...
Has anybody had a similar issue ? Apple doesn't seem to be able to fix this....

I was fooling around a bit more with this and found that if you open the Address Book application and export all of your contacts to a folder on the desktop (either one at a time or as a group), then delete all of the contacts in the Address Book, then drag and drop the exported cards back onto the Address Book application the "strange" field labels will be cleaned..... BUT.... On mine all of the phone numbers and contacts then defaulted to having the "Other" field label, so use this at your own risk

Strange error message when compiling an IPA ("multiple L$start$ labels found at same address in...")

I get this message when compiling an IPA with AIR 3.6:

So I suppose it's a bug in the AIR for iOS compiler. Any clues about why am I getting that warning message?

Japanese indication of Label and Button is strange in Android5.0.1.

A screen of attachment is Label, TextArea, Button in turn from the top.
TextArea is normally indicated, but all hiragana, katakana and kanji aren't shown to Label.

Label or tag bug in Maverick. Very strange

Something strange. Today I have realised I don't see tags when I am in open/save dialog of Indesign.
Then I have started to look in other programs with similar succes. Not a single program i have opened didn't showed tags.
Then i right clicked in Safari open dialog on one file and i got option to tag that file. After tagging nothing has changed in finder but miraculously other tags had shown as small dot right of filename. And when i have returned to indesign open dialog all my tags looked as 10.8 os style - coloured name? Other programs are now showing tags but in maverick style, as coloured dot.

It is easily visible in DTP monitor to see the request being extracted in load from PSA.
Any other Idea...we are at SP-17.

Boot image does not exist and cannot read disk label errors.

Hi - I'm having a problem with installing Solaris 9 4/04 on a Netra T1. The Netra already has Solaris 7. I need to get this set up as a jumpstart server but it can't find the boot image. I'm using a brand new bonafide installation disk - not a copy. The system won't let me install/upgrade to Solaris 9 either. I get an error stating that disk label can't be read. I've tried swapping out the CDROM but I still get the same errors. Does anyone know what or why this may be happening? (Oh - and another strange thing - like I said the CDs are the original but there doesn't appear to be a cdrom/cdrom0/s0 directory. The directory I see is cdrom/cdrom0/sol_9_404_sparc/Solaris_9/Tools)

Hi check that you are booting of the right cd. Make sure it is soalris 9 software 1/2 if that fails then it may well be that your cd is buggered. most likely it is buggered it it cant find the boot image.

MacBook Pro (Early 2011) behaves strange after GPU replacement

I have an early MBP 2011 and had the GPU issue. After Apple finally announced the replace program I immediatelly went to a a stor and the fixed it. But now my System acts very strangely ever since. Here a list of all the strange things:
- The overall performance is not as good as it was bevore
- Yosemite allways asks for my iCloud Password on startup. If I enter it, the message just reappears. this happens till I click on "cancel" twice! (In the accounts settings everything is running and all the options in the iCloud menu are checked)
- the spotlight search does not work anymore. If I enter something and press Enter nothing happens except spotlight is freezing on the spot for some time till it disappears.
- Safari, iTunes and Mail have no, of very little, internet connection. But the strange thing is: Chrome does!!!
- Finder sometimes does not work correctly. I have to restart it quite often (I never had to do this before) and sometimes it does not react when clicking on the dock icon.
For me all this makes no sense. What is wrong with my system?
I should mention: I built in 8GB of ram (over two years ago) and I put an SSD in and removed the optical drive (over a year ago). I use the TRIM enabler for the SSD.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
The test works on OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later. I don't recommend running it on older versions of OS X. It will do no harm, but it won't do much good either.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of it have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message. See, for example, this discussion.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
5. Try to test under conditions that reproduce the problem, as far as possible. For example, if the computer is sometimes, but not always, slow, run the test during a slowdown.
You may have started up in "safe" mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, a series of lines will appear in the Terminal window like this:
[Process started]
        Part 1 of 8 done at … sec
        Part 8 of 8 done at … sec
        The test results are on the Clipboard.
        Please close this window.
[Process completed]
The intervals between parts won't be exactly equal, but they give a rough indication of progress. The total number of parts may be different from what's shown here.
Wait for the final message "Process completed" to appear. If you don't see it within about ten minutes, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, press the key combination control-C or command-period to stop it and go to the next step. You'll have incomplete results, but still something.
12. When the test is complete, or if you stopped it because it was taking too long, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak for themselves, not for me. The test itself is harmless, but whatever else you're told to do may not be. For others who choose to run it, I don't recommend that you post the test results on this website unless I asked you to.

Changing the label of a field in SAP GUI

Hello SAP Guys,
I would like to change the label of a field in SAP GUI.
I already did it internally because for that field the Shor Text of the label changed:
I went to SE11, and wrote down the appropriate data element, through Translation I changed the entries of SCRTEXT_L, SCRTEXT_M and SCRTEXT_S and activated this change after saving.
It is very strange that after making sure that the
Short Text of that field was changed, I went to trx BP and I could see that the label didn´t change.
I´ll appreciate any help you can give me,

Hi Efrain,
Can you tell me in which screen did you make the screen.
Moreover the changes are not reflected immediately.
What you can try is to create a new record of the transaction in which you changed the label and save the recore. After this try to close the session and reopen the transaction and this should work.
The reason is the label on the screen are not picked up from the data element everytime but from buffer. So when you create a record this updates the database table entry and can also refresh the buffer.
I had the same problem in BP transaction and the above solution worked.
