Strange marks on Curve 8900 screen

Hi folks,
I hope someone can help me out. I have a new blackberry 8900 javelin (have like 4 months of use) and some strange marks appeared on the screen. They are small marks, but they don't disappear. I had the same problem with my last curve 8900 (I had 3 8900 models) but last time, the marks disappeared in a few days. Those on mine are not disappearing. I know it's not a liquid crystal leak, it's a malfunction or something, because the mark had a different shape in a few days ago. Here are some pictures i took to show the problem.
hope someone can help me out!
thanks guys!

Hey eduardopfm,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
Those marks are definitely hardware/lcd screen related.  I would suggest contacting your network service provider or point of sale for repair options as this is not software related.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers.

My curve 8900 keeps getting a blank white screen & I don't know why..
It worked while being plugged in & after unplugging it, when the battery loses 1 bar it goes white again
But I tried updating it last night (leaving it plugged in all night) & when I woke up the screen was blank & wouldn't work at all
    PLEASE HELP!
Is it a screen problem? Or do I need a new battery? Or is it both?
Thanks in advance for the help

  • My curve 8900 screen keep going white

in need of some help my curve screen keeps going white after turning it on sum time it come on ok for about 10mins then it locksup and go white again will try any thing to sort it

    curtismartin50,
We from what you have described there seems to be an issue with the software on the phone or the phone itself. You can try to address the software by following these steps below:
    1) Have you performed a hard reset, by pulling the battery out and waiting 2-3 minutes before rebooting when you place the battery back in?
    2) You may want to try upgrading the device software by downloading BlackBerry Device Software fro blackberry.com
    3) Have you performed a full "Wipe" on your BlackBerry Smartphone, you can do this by going to "Options" > "Security Options" > "General Settings" and press your Menu Key to choose "Wipe Handheld"
Note that this will delete all data on your device and restore the unit back to factory defualts!
    Hope this helps

  • My Curve 8900 screen is frozen.

It does not respond to any keystokes. If fact unless the phone is on charge the screen is blank.
I does audibly register incomming emails & SMSs but nothing else works.
Can anyone advise me on a solution?
    Thanks

Hold down the power and home button and ignore any 'slide to shut down' slider, and proceed on holding it until it reboots and an apple logo appears, at which point you can let go. It will then boot up.

  • Strange mark on my screen

Just noticed a strange marking on my screen when it is turned off, I've tried to clean it off with various products, but it appears to be grease-proof.
Anyone know what it might be or how I might go about getting rid of it?

Take the MBP to your local Apple Store or an AASP.  Let them deal w/it.

  • Curve 8900 - strange errors?!

    Hi everyone!
BB curve 8900; v4.4.1.310; Vodafone Portugal data plan.
    I'm having this problem:
My emails work wonderfully, so do text msgs, mms; blackberry messenger, all ok, BUT all my other apps won't connect.
Facebook says: error 101 try again later.
    BB App world says: java.lang.nullexception
browser via data plan: it gets stuck in "loading"
I can get them all working through Wifi though!
AND YET, they work from time to time...I will receive from time to time, for example, FB notifications on my FB app that I'd already received on my email (and not on the FB app at the same time)
I dunno...I've made several battery pulls; plugged it into my mac and updated, cleaned unused apps and themes, cleared space...
    I need some help..
    thank you all.

Find a friend with a PC, you can use for a few hours.
I would recommend Desktop Manager, version 6. Download Desktop Manager from here:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Use Desktop Manager to backup your BlackBerry first. If you don't already, you should do this on your own Mac Desktop for Blackberry as well.
See the link below, for the download and simple installation instructions.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=06997F04A7DB92466A2BAA6EBC8B872D
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Curve 8900 won't get past the T-Mobile screen on start-up

I am hoping that someone out there can help. My T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900 does not make it past the T-Mobile screen on start-up. The battery was fully charged when this happened. Personally, I think it has to do with iHeart Radio crashing, but I could be wrong. I have tried to plug the USB cord into a rear port on my laptop and launch the Blackberry Desktop Manager to see if I could do anything, but nothing happens. The BB Desktop Manager does not connect to the phone, because it is not getting past the T-Mobile screen on start-up. Not sure what to try.

    Hey VTX1300R,
Do you have a recent backup of you device? If so the you may want to try to do a reset to factory on the device. Have a look at this article to see how to do it. http://bit.ly/98bCNO

  • White Screen of death on my blackberry curve 8900

    Hi,
I bought a bb curve 8900  four months ago, it worked perfectly and I'm so happy with it until yesterday evening !
I turned it off for 2 hours (cinema) and when I turned it on I just get a white screen ! Nothing works, I can't do anything, I removed the battery, restore the OS, reinstall the OS, ... but nothing I still have the white screen and have no access to any app ! I looked on the web and many forums but never find a good answer ! I don't want to open my bb ! I bought the phone in Cincinnati, OH at Cincinnati Bell but now I'm in New York and as you guess I can't really go to a Cincinnati Bell store.
Can anyone help me ? Tell me where to go, who can I call ? or where to send my device ? I guess it still under garanty that why I don't want to open it or to bring it to any small store where they will change the screen and I will loose my garanty !

Have you tried getting help from AT&T folks (I'm assuming AT&T because you said Cincinnati Bell but if it is a different carrier, should be the same principal) locally in NY? Most are happy to help if they can and if they can't they will tell you what to do. I think I ended up calling customer service (which might be the best bet for you) when a phone that was still under warrenty malfunctioned and they sent me new phone in the mail. You shouldn't have to go to Cincinnati. Help is probably (no pun completely intended) a phone call away

  • Freezing / Hanging Screen - Curve 8900

Hi, I have a Curve 8900 which has been working just fine since I bought it more than 3 years ago. Just recently the screeen has started to hang and freeze and its driving me nuts !!! The usual routine of taking the battery out while the device is on solves the problem temporarily, but then after a short while the problem comes back....please help.......I have zero apps on the device. I have been storing some pix on the device recently but the the memory card is still showing 75% free space !!!! Many thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, you may need to consider more drastic remedy attempts (e.g., WIPE, clean OS reload, BBSAK/JLCMDR wipe/reload, etc.).
Also, please be sure that you've got a solid backup in place just in case...see the link in my auto-sig on this post for recommended methods to use.

  • BLACKBERRY CURVE 8900 WONT OPEN MEDIA FILES*!

HI, I HAVE A BLACKBERRRY CURVE 8900. THE PHONE DOESNT ALLOW ME TO OPEN UP MY MEDIA FILES (SONGS, VIDEOS) EVERYTIME I TRY A WHITE SCREEN COMES AND IT SAYS UNABLE TO PLAY CONTENT. PLEASE HELP! THANKS

Glitches like this will often correct themself.
Try another reboot as described. Leave the BlackBerry powered on.
Remove the battery for five minutes, replace and reboot.
If it continues, you may need to simple reload or upgrade the operating system.
What is your Operating System loaded to your device?
Look at Options > About, third line down beginning with a "v.4.x.xxx"
    What is yours?

  • BB Curve 8900 died and will turn on but still has the red "off" sign

    Hi all.  Great site.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8900 and last night the battery completely drained and I could not connect it to a charger until I arrived at work this morning.  I plugged the phone in around 9:00 A.M., and even now at 2:00 P.M. it is still not charged.
Strangely, the phone WILL turn on if connected to the charger, but the radio is still off.  The red "OFF" sign is still there on the upper-right corner of the screen.
Is there something I can do to get it to actually charge back to where I can use it?
    Thanks for all your help!!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
These batteries typically do not like to be fully drained. Sometimes doing so renders them useless. But, there are a few things for you to try before you determine that as the root cause.
    1) Get a new known good battery. See if it will charge properly in your BB. If so, then your battery is indeed damaged and useless.
    2) Give your battery to another known good BB of the exact same model. See if it will charge properly. If so, then your BB or your charger may be damaged.
    3) Try a different known-good charger in a known-good wall outlet. If it will charge now, then you know it to be your charger to be damaged.
These steps will help determine where the root cause is, which will guide you to the actions necessary to remedy the situation.
    Good luck!

  • Curve 8900 couldnt on

Hi,i am new here! i am facing some problem,my phone (curve 8900) keep shut down, after ON it not long ago, then its turns off automatically, need your guys experties to solve my problem, thank you

I got this off of someones replies. I have that issue too!! I havent tried it yet tho. Let me know if it works please!!
If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a white or black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

  • BB Curve 8900 - Intermittent switch off

My BB Curve 8900 intermittently switches off for no apparant reason. It starts up again with a blank screen, takes about 2/3 minutes & then boots up again. It loses the page it was on.
Any ideas on what the issue is & how I can fix it?
    Thanks.

I'd look first at putting a piece of paper, like a business card,, or a folded piece of normal paper, on top of the battery, and putting the battery door back on. Try that a few days and see if the spontaneous rebooting continues.
