Strange message about arguments

I am running 2.2 on Windows XP, and when I launched LR just now, I let it go ahead and do a backup. When the backup was done, I briefly got a programming message that was something about missing arguments, then LR opened with no images displayed. I closed LR and reopened it, and it looks fine now. What did I likely do wrong and is my catalog okay? Thanks!

I got the same behavior just now after an auto-backup. The message was something like "First argument needs to be a" something. Yikes - will this happen after each backup?

  • Strange Message about BBM today...anyone else? URGENT!

One of my BBM contacts has forwarded a msg onto me today saying that BBM is shutting down at midnight tonight and if I don't broadcast the msg I will loose my contact.
Goes on to say that there has been an overusage of user names in BBM and that Blackberry are requesting all users to forward this message to their contact list? if i don;t forward it apparently they will take my account as invalid and it will be deleted within next 48hrs?? Not to ignore the message or Blackberry will no longer recognise my BBM pin?
If after that I want to reactivate my account i will have a £25 charge added to monthly bill to reconnect? WTF?
So has anyone else had this msg or know anything about it at all?
My gut feelin is it's probably a scam but want to be sure?
    blousey

    Sounds pretty scammy to me.
I'd ignore it, delete it and move on.

  • Getting a strange message about my text

I had posted about this previously, but at that time was not able to remember the message I was getting.  I have since received it a12gain so I can post verbatim.  Again it was during a conversation with my daughter, and it actually came to me from her number, apparently not from verizon as I had previously thought.  It reads as follows:
    From: (my daughter's name)
Message delivered to (my daughter's number) as plain text. Destination does not support enhanced messaging service.
    Jan 15, 1202pm
So have I blocked something I should not have blocked?  The odd thing is that it does not happen at all most of the time.  Just now and then and it has always been just a plain old text message.  No pictures or anything fancy.  It has also happened a couple of time with my other daughter who is not a verizon customer. (the younger one is)
Although it really has not caused me any problems, at least not that I am aware of, I would be interested to know what's up.
    Thanks

I believe that comment is from your daughter adding emoticons. --------->

  • Strange message while booting up.

I get this message while booting and am wondering if anyone knows how to correct the problem.
Not activating Mandatory Access Control now since /sbin/tomoyo-init doesn't exist.
I haven't found any solutions or much explanation of what it is using google.

When I read the message I felt brave enough to try installing this mysterious tomoyo-tools, system boots fine like I didn't have it and it's happened about for a week. I forgot to have installed that.
Today my machine have had strange message and didn't boot, I've tried the fallback and the first time has worked. From fallback I have reinstalled tomoyo-tools, thinking some upgrade could have broken the package.
Well, reboot the machine and system still not booting, neither fallback this time. WTH!
I've used the livecd to move the binary /sbin/tomoyo-init (yes of course I can chroot and pacman -R but moving the binary was enough), booting correctly and pacman -R it.
The last message written was about kernel start etc, and the system stuck.

Found the issue. There was a difference between the target service and the web service object that I was invoking. Even though I have changed the method signature and changed it back, the web service object that I was invoking needed to be recreated. This fixed the issue.

  • Strange messages

Lately I've been seeing what look like email messages coming across the upper corner of my monitor.
The only one I was able to remember part of read, "Pioneer working on after market car".
Couldn't read the rest as it disappears quickly.
The little box is exactly the same as when an email is coming in.
I also recall one having to do with iTunes.
I've looked in my mail box and download folder, but these messages don't appear in either.
I don't recall these happening in the past, seems as though they started about couple of  weeks ago.
I have my download preference set to Mac App Store.
I only change it when I'm downloading an application that requires me to change to Anywhere.
I then go back to Mac App Store.
Can anyone shed any light on these strange messages that can't be viewed after they disappear off the screen?
    Thank you.

It sounds like you are seeing Notifications. In the top right corner of your screen do you see the icon in the graphic below:

  • Strange message on log

    Hi,
Sorry if this matter was already mentioned in this forums, but I wasn't able to find something about it.
I have a MacbookPro 13" Mid 2012, with an i7 Processor and 16GB RAM. I think that since I've upgraded it to Mavericks (10.9.x), today I have 10.9.5, I have some strange messages on log with weird characters, like this one:
    25/09/14 12:22:39,000 kernel[0]: Change trust on Pj+p5?  + 5?u +  (pid 671)
    or this one
    25/09/14 12:20:26,000 kernel[0]: Change trust on \.*+ (pid 667)
Any clue on this kind of behavior?
    Regards,

Try running the combo update to see if it will clear the problem.

  • IMac - strange message

I have an iMac DV G3 with OS9 and OSX 10.0 was working fine until the other day - it had question mark flashing I started it with software install disc OS9 and didn't realize my daughter had borrowed OSX from school to work on the school newspaper. I bought OSX from the internet and after backing up my photos to a flashdrive last night, installed the OSX 10.0 it said installation was successful then I got this strange message on the screen it starts with "panic(cpu0): unable to find driver for this platform: "PowerMac2,1" bunch of other stuff then ends with panic: We are hanging here...
Can someone please help me with this. Thanks much.

    Hi Kenichi & Marie,
It strikes me that a good option at this point, given the OS issues and kernel panics at start-up, may be to beg or borrow another Firewire equipped Mac if possible, to boot the iMac CRT into Target Disc Mode, and to copy across the data from the iMacs HD to a folder on the other computer.
THis might save a lot of time if the kernel panic is actually occurring because of a hardware problem of some kind. Once you had done so you could go on to steps like erasing the HD etc much more safely.
That way the data would be "safe" and people could then try and sort out the other problems with less concern about losing things that matter.
Marie, just about any Mac from the time of the iMac G3 onwards would be able to do this, as long as it has enough free HD space to cope with your data. Know anyone with an iBook or a MacBook or such who would be prepared to help you with such a thing? Is there a local Apple user group, or perhaps a school, who could perhaps help out in this fashion?
    Cheers
    Rod

  • Stolen iPad, can't find, but received a strange message today related to it...

I had my iPad either misplaced or stolen about 4 months ago. Today, I got a very strange message on my iPhone. It said that my email addresses were added to "Nabeel's iPad"!!!
I used the cloud to search for it, but couldn't find it. What other methods can I go about tracking it? I had a SoftBank 3G card in it, which is most likely why it was able to know it was connected to my account, but the cloud can't still find it. Please help me, I know someone has my iPad definitely now! Who should I call, how can I get it back!? Now whoever has it, has my email addresses which is definitely strange!

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

  • Strange message when paying online

Hi, For about the last month I have been getting a strange message when paying for stuff online. It usually works the second time I try! The message isYour authentication could not be completed because of a system error. If this happens consistently, please contact your CSR. I first thought virus/malware but scans have not found anything (Avast & Malwarebytes). I was using Firefox but have tried IE today as an experiment and I got the message on that too. I also tried a different c/card the other day and still got it! I have googled the message which seems to indicate card issuer problems but none of the occurances I've looked at are not that recent so I'm a bit unsure where to look and was wondering if it might be something to do the Sky site filtering software? Any thoughts would be appreciated.Nick

    Claudio,
Fingers (well-chilled fingers) are X'ed for you.
At least you have not received the dreaded "4" error message...
    Good luck to us all.

  • I updated iTunes from the update message and now my Windows computer (at work- I use Mac at home) keeps sending me error messages about MobileMe and iTunes. It indicates a .dll error but I can't find any such file. I tried removing the entire ITunes app.

I downloaded an update to my iTunes app on my work Windows computer and now I am constantly getting error messages about MobileMe, when I download a webpage and marked slowness of my Outlook application. I tried removing iTunes and reloading directly from the Apple site, but no change. One of my peers is having the same issue and messages.
    Any suggestions?

  • Getting an error message about a missing file when I try to open Firefox

When I tried to open Firefox today I received a message about a missing file (Wrusr.ddl) and that Firefox was not able to open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it did not work. I have no idea what that file is or where is went. I used Firefox 2 days ago and it was working fine. The only thing that changed between then and today was that I renewed my antivirus software but I definitely did not delete any files and I made sure that Firefox is allowed to access the internet. I've been using that same software (Webroot) with Firefox for years and never had any issues before today. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have included a screenshot of the error message below.

hello angelag.132, the WRusr.dll file is part of Webroot SecureAnywhere - try to reinstall or uninstall that software.

Okay so my phone crashes approximately every 30 seconds. I have tried resetting it by DPU as well as on the phone itself.  Once in awhile i get an error message about unknown error 1.  If i look at the diagnosis or if runs on itunes i get the following.  When I called the support at AT&T they think the phone is shot and it is a hardware thing but i have a hard time believing that when it happened when I sync'd it to my computer.  It did get progressively worse though, at first it crashed not that often and then got worse.  So restores are failing, recovery, everything.  Anyone run into this?

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
