Strange missing renders

As some of you know I have FCP HD 4.5 I've upgraded to 2.5 gigs of RAM and 500 gigs of HD space. I'm color correcting now and render alot. I also shut down frequently to do other things and when I get back the parts I rendered are nolonger rendered. I don't have the screen when I turn on saying these files missing. It's like I never did the work (yes I save constantly). It only started happening recently, does this ring a bell to anyone?
I see a thread about FCP 6 that has a similar problem, but I'm using 4.5.

I have just updated premier with Adobe Application Manager today, checked 'updates' afterwards and confirmed all is up to date.
But now when I run the app I get a message entitled 'Missing Renderer' and it says the last time the project was open mercury was available that the mercury system is not available now and software only will be used- or words to that effect
It always was available. I re-checked the supported cards text file and my card is there. Geforce GTX 260
In about box, my version is 6.0.3 (001 MC264587)
I am on windows 8 ultimate

Working now. It appears that after the upgrade, the entire Adobe directory on drive C became read only. I reset this and all works fine again

Missing renderer error in Premiere CS6 plus three more errors

I just tried to open a saved project and now get a Missing renderer error in Premiere CS6;
"This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA), which is not available on this system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used"
I then click OK and get a new errror:
The preset used by one or more sequneces in this project requires third party components that could not be located. These sequences will be modified to use a custom sequence setting instead ...."
I then click OK and get the error:
"Adobe Preniere Pro CS6 has stopped working"
This is the same computer thta created the project and nothing physical has cahnged. I reboot try to create a new project and get the error:
"Sorry a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premier Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project"
I cant do anything with premiere CS6 at all.
HELP!

The first two can be solved pretty easy, but won't help much in light of the third. We need to solve that one first. Once you get PP to open and remain open with a new project and new sequence, then we can fix the first two. So...

Missing Renderer and CC crash after CUDA update

Hey guys,
Lets see if we can get some help here.
My current setup:
MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch, Early 2013
2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16gb 1600MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024MB
Operation System: OS X 10.8.5
I am running a 27inch thunderbolt cinema monitor and a 40 inch LED TV client monitor.
Following a recent NVIDIA Cuda update, I open a project in PR or AE to find a dialog box that reads:
Missing Renderer
"This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration(CUDA), which is either not available or not certified on this system. Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration(Open CL) will be used."
I click "OK" and go into PR or AE. Doesn't matter what project I go into, when I start working and there are several dosen clips in a timeline pulling form the source footage on a thunderbolt drive, the scrubing with extremely sluggish to the point where my workflow speed overwhelms the system and another dialog box pops up to say:
"Premiere had experieced a serious error and is forced to close....."
Serious error indeed!!!
Never had this issue prior to the CUDA update.
Spent 2 hours in the apple store erasing the CUDA update and installing the previous one......to no avail.
Wiped the commputer completely and reinstalled everything on it(Creative Cloud, REDCine X, Red Giant Looks, etc).....also to no avail.
Thoughts?

Ideally yes, internal drives would be awesome to have, but without the MacPro out yet, this is the next best option.
This doens't solve my issue tho......why have I been able to work seemlessly with throughout the Creative Cloud with Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, as well as run REDCine X and Red Giant Looks prior to the update. After the update, something is amiss.
Now there is a Missing Renderer dialog box as I open Premiere. Something has to have affected PR.

Missing Renderer - GPU Acceleration Disabled

Hi.
I've been having a problem with premiere lately. When I create new project, the render settings are set for CUDA GPU acceleration. I have no issues while editing the project or when rendering preview files. However, once I save the project, quit premiere, and then later re-open the project, I am presented with the dialog "Missing Renderer" - "This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration, CUDA, which is either not available, or not certified on this system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used."
After this message, my timeline opens completely unrendered. I've attempted to change the project setting and reselect GPU Acceleration as the renderer, but the dropdown box is disabled in the project settings menu.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Computer Specs:
Intel Core i7-3537U
8GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 710M with 1GB Dedicated RAM

Do you have dual graphics adapters?
Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound and then select Device Manager... In Device manager you click the + sign to the left of Display Adapters... and see if 2 are listed

Missing Renderer Message

I've been using the MPE Hack with my GTX 260 and now it longer works. I get the Missing Renderer message when I fire up a project. The one that says I will have to use the Software part of MPE and not the Hardware of MPE. Anyway, I searched and read all the forum posts on this topic. I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver for this card and that didn't fix it. I did it twice just to be sure. I also rolled the driver back to the one from last May and that didn't work either. Hmmm? Anyone with an idea of what might be going on? I also went to the cuda_supported_cards text file and saw that my original hack was missing so I opened up Notepad and resaved it with the GeForce GTX 260 added but that didn't do it either. Here is the list that shows in that text file.

"Missing Renderer" spreading like the Flu.

Hi there-
Seen a few posts about this on here, but all are PC based and I'm not confident the resolutions are applicable.
Here is what is happening:
We've got 4 edit bays. Identical MacPro 12 core towers. All with the Nvidia/PNY Quadro 4000 for Mac GFX card. In the past month, 3 out of 4 inexplicably have lost the ability to use the Mercury Playback GPU. We've had to go straight software at this point.
We've gotten the 'missing renderer' error and nothing we attempt seems to fix it. Even a complete wipe of an edit system, reinstall of OS, drivers and Adobe suite won't fix it. Once it's gone, it's gone.
We've not been able to establish any pattern to this either....the error has popped up on two computers about two weeks ago with no rhyme or reason. It popped up on a third yesterday immediately after we installed Avid Media Composer.
All of these computers are running the most current Nvidia Drivers, Cuda driver, Premier 6.03 and Mountain Lion. They've worked for a month or so, but in the past 2 weeks, they've all started falling and are unable to recognize the Nvidia card as the renderer.
Can anyone help? This is really frustrating!

Missing Renderer

I am receiving an odd message that has only recently started popping up upon launching projects. After clicking Open, and before the project loads, I get a dialog box which is headed:
'Missing Renderer'. It is then followed by the message: 'This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Aceleration, which is not available on this system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used'.
I have the Nvida GTX-470 GPU card installed and the message has only started to pop up of late. I've made no changes that I am aware of. I can tell by watching playback that the message is correct and the card is not being used. Oddly, some projects don't give that message while others do.
What would cause CS5 to suddenly quit accessing the card? Could it somehow be offline? And if so, how would I confirm that? And finally, I noticed in the list of CS5 5.0.2 some fixes for Nvidia cards. Is this a possibility?

Why Adobe Reader miss-renders this PDF

Acrobat Reader renders the fields terrribly (there are letters missing in the fields at the end of the document), while Acrobat Pro displays it fine.
What is going on here?
This PDF is the product of many libraries (iTextSharp, etc), used for adding fields, signing, etc.
But why do I get this behaviour? Is this an Acrobat bug?
EDIT: I have the latest Acrobat Reader (version XI) on Windows.

I opened the file in both Acrobat And Reader XI and it looks the same in both (Reader on the left, Acrobat on the right):
Make sure the settings you have under Edit - Preferences - Page Display are the same for both applications.

Strange font rendering in firefox

I have an svg file which has a very strange rendering in firefox the letters seem to be above each other while they're next to each other.

Missing renders after a save

I rendered a seq overnight and saw the renders done the next morning. saved the project. re-opened it minutes later and it was missing one render file. two things here. when I looked at the renders folder in the drive I rendered to, I could see all the renders that I had asked it to render overnight(well as far as I could tell) The missing render file according to FCP was on a different drive. There are three drives that are hooked up via FC channel network. The drive it said the missing render file was on was not assigned as the drive for renders of this part of the project. This was so when I looked for the renders that did exist and they were where they were supposed to be.
So the question is why did it lose the render and why did it think it was on a different drive than where it the rest of the renders were? Lastly, is there a way to connect the renders I did find to the seq even though it was missing this one render.
Now the drive it thought the render was on, was used for other renders. Also in the drive that it thought the renders were there was a render that had a similar name but was one number off in the name. ie. 7a instead of 6a which it was looking for.

(Is it just me, or is this sporadic behavior in FCP. I've not experienced it enough to be a PITA, but it has certainly occurred in the past..on several Macs/FCP versions.
I figure it just one of those things, and re-render.)
Regarding the 'other drive'...it may be possible that FCP came up showing the other drive because it was the most recent drive it had been sent to to 'reconnect' some piece of media...that's a guess, but would make sense based on behavior I've experienced.

"Missing" rendered files when quicktime exporting

Hello,
when finished a project, everything rendered, everything looking fine, I go to File > Export > Using Quicktime Conversion... (to go to idvd and mount de dvd).
But then, he tells me a file (a render file) cannot be fount and, thus, cannot export the movie. Everything is rendered and I never go to any scratch folder and never deleted any file anywhere...
What can I do? Please help!

First, if you're going to iDVD export using QuickTime Movie (not Conversion).

Strange "Missing model" message.

After upgrade from coherence 3.3.1 to 3.4.1, we saw this error message occured from time to time in our mbeanserver application which monitoring the coherence cluster.

These only part of the HUGE error message it generated, and the type not limited to Platform, could happen to Node,Cache, etc.etc.
It seems these error message only occured if some of node were terminated unexpectly. (not always happened, though).
Any idea what going on and how can we get rid of those error message?

I think this has to do with an issue with JMX management.
There are two options. The first is to upgrade to 3.4.2 since it was
fixed in 3.4.2.
The second is a work around.
The work around is to turn the refresh-policy to refresh-expired
using -Dtangosol.coherence.management.refresh.policy
The default is refresh-ahead.

Strange missing channel prob with FIOS + Cablecard + Tivo HD

I have a Tivo HD, and just had FIOS TV (and internet and phone) installed. Everything seems to work fine, except that some of the Extreme HD channels don't work. If you tune to them, you get a black screen and no audio, but no message saying "Channel not available; contact your cable provider" or whatever.
Tivo tech support went through the Cablecard diagnostics and found that on the channels that are black, the cards are reporting "NOT_SUBSCRIBED" under the Conditional Access section. If I tune to a channel I get, the status changes to "SUBSCRIBED."
The odd thing is, it's a subset of the Extreme HD tier that is missing. For example, I get Disney HD, but not Bravo HD. All of the premium channels (HBO, Starz, Showtime) are working fine. I am subscribed to Extreme HD, and tech support has verified that it's showing as subscribed in their system.
Both cards have exactly the same set of channels working and non-working. Tech support has re-hit the cards multiple times, and reloaded them, and deactivated and reactivated them. I've removed and replaced the cards several times, and rebooted the Tivo several times. I've tried running the Tivo with just one card, and checked the tuning separately on each card. Both cards have exactly the same issue: some channels that I supposedly am subscribed to are showing as "NOT_SUBSCRIBED" when I check the cablecard diagnostic output. And those channels show a black screen and no audio when I tune to them.
I don't have (as far as I can tell) the pixelization problems that others have reported on Tivos - on the channels I get, the picture is stellar. I don't have any uncorrected errors on the channels I'm not getting (or the ones I'm getting). For the heck of it, I put a 10db attentuator inline on the cable, but it didn't appear to affect anything.
Any thoughts?

As he found, FiOS HD Extreme actually consists of several packages that the customer service rep must enable on your account. I don't recall exactly what they are, but it is something like HD locals, Premiere, Sports, and/or Extreme. All must be enabled on your account to get all channels in the Extreme package. In his case, the representative forgot to enable Premiere so he did not get a large block of HD channels on any box.
He scheduled a service call and luckily for him, he got a competant individual that understood the problem -- and how to communicate it to a rep over the phone -- without having to swap out any equipment.

Strange thumbnail rendering on import

I have been importing pictures in batches of maybe a few dozen at a time today and have had no problems (LR 2.0, Win XP). In my last import of 33, some old pictures had shown up - with the keywords of the new import. I let the import complete, closed LR, and brought it back up. Wallah - the default library view of the last import seems correct with just the correct 33 images.
What did I likely do wrong? Should I now be suspect of the catalog (which I backup multiple times a day) or just chalk it up to a fluke of sorts? I've never seen something like this before. Thanks.

Hmm, that does seem strange. So you're seeing old images already in your catalog in the import dialog screen's previews along with the new images you're importing from a card, or disk, and you're sure the "import source" location does not contain originals of these older images? Has this happened more than this one time?
Maybe someone else has experienced something similar, or has a better idea of what might have happened.
Sorry I don't have any other ideas (like if deleting your prefs or going to 2.1RC would help, or if it might be some kind of memory issue, but I don't know) - Good luck.
